I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi troutburger
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

One year ago we started our caching journey by failing to find this cache. An auspicious start. Thankfully we persevered and managed to find it today. An easy peasy cache once you figure out which rock to look under.
At times you scratch your head as why you were not able to find it first time around....this time
I was heading towards home but hadn't quite had enough yet. I've been meaning to get this for ages so took the wee side step in to this nice area. As I pulled up there was a guy wandering round in the middle of some flax bushes exactly where I wanted to head - it had to be a cacher. Turns out it was sting1606 - nice to meet you and your cute dog. Cache quickly found. TFTC # 13,338

Similar to others' experience, the search got a bit confusing once I realized there are 3 big rocks instead of one. I searched all of them and only upon returning to the first one searched again was able to get the cache. Not in the most obvious place, which is good, makes it harder for muggles and a challenge for cachers

We found it hard find there was 3 big rocks to choose from, right under one of them.
Almost sure where it should be but a nice pile of stones at bottom of huge stone but no cavhe in site.
Next time better.

Another quick find - and now home into the warm house and getting a coffee. TFTC
Caching for the afternoon with peter 007; we had thought of going out to Rangiora but were enticed in this direction & enjoyed the caches we found along the way.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, troutburger.

Travelling between Christchurch and Kaiapoi I wanted to find some caches with my sons before they headed of to the movies. This one suited us perfectly. No one about, just a parked up car so we were free to hunt as we wanted. With five sets of eyes it didn't take long to find a large rock, but no cache. Then we looked a bit further and found another large rock and there safely tucked away was the cache.
My sons' logs to come in the next day or two.
Thanks for the cache, an interesting spot with lots of information to read near by.

Of course the cache is hiding there! A decent sized rock too. A nice quick find for me this morning. Thanks troutburger.
Went to the spot. Found the big rock and a lot of smaller rocks scattered but nothing with it.
Awesome cache! Very well hidden from muggles was able to sign the logbook but didn't take anything
Came out for a caching jaunt to pick up caches by the banks of the river. This one had me searching the wrong hint object briefly but quickly turned around and found the item. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
The first for a long while. Just as well it was an easy one to get us back into the mode. TFTC!!!
Having the luxury of no worry about getting a park in town today, I took a leisurely morning drive/short strolls along the river to find some caches in the morning. I started just before the sunset, and collected all along this section by 8:30am - what a great start to the day! I started looking around a hint object, but soon discovered that there was another! TFTC!!!
Lovely and quiet at GZ. I can imagine it's a different story in ther summer. TFTC all dry. (apologies for incorrect date on the log, out by one day.)
No luck unfortunately, was our first ever time looking so hope it wasn't because we didn't know what we were doing
A pencil lying on the ground is always a giveaway for a cache location. Some of the swaps were lying in the ground too so locating it was not too hard! Tftc
Travelling around the South Island.
Looking at our wonderful home land.
Weather has been improving every day. Wonderful to travel.

And after having found the cache I jumped into the river. Awesome! Greetings from Germany!
Another good find on our evening walk. Encouraged me to go further than I expected!TFTC
#8607. Enjoyed visiting the Waimakariri River Park in Kaiapoi. GZ itself was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. We would not have thought that it was wheelchair accessible however. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Found with the Learn Active crew! Out for a walk in the springlike weather! Tftc
Easy cache - great one for kids. Another place I've driven past many times but never stopped at. Thanks!
Final got around to bringing the girls down here for an adventure and they were right into it. There was soo much to explore here we will definately be back. It is a shame that some motorbikers seem to think they own the place though, we have a similar problem on the Ashley River. I think the WDC should be defining areas of use or if they have policing them! Had a close call with one as we were wandering the river bed. Thanks for bringing us here.
Parked nearby to walk down to the river. Decided to check and see if there were any caches close. Yes, very close!! TFTC
#12165. I enjoyed reading a bit about how the river's course had changed over the years (I had wondered why a number of areas with "Island" in their names are not islands). Quick find in an obvious spot. TFTC.
We were heading to some caches just south of the river, but missed the turn off (the access wasn't clear on the GPSr) so decided to carry on across the old bridge and find some caches on the north side as well!
This was close to where we parked our car. It's been many years since we have been here, probably my last visit here was also to find a cache.
Was surprised at the low terrain rating as there would be no way a wheelchair could get to GZ. I was heading to one possible hiding place when StreetWalker located the cache nearby. Swapped TBs. TFTC.

Stopped for a picknick and found it. Cleared some wet stuff out. Three rocks to check out. Which one?
