A quick find. The outer bags are a bit wet but the container is fine. Thanks for the cache Barad Bunch!

A small diversion from the Main Fire Trail and a quick find once at the correct tree. It was a beautiful day to be out caching in the area. Not too hot, not too cold, and nice & dry. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Sighted the likely spot straight away, but dismissed it when inspecting as it seemed quite undisturbed and rich/fertile/decaying/kinda yucky under there. After scrambling about checking for other spots I gave the first location another try and realised that what I first saw wasn't moist, decaying, deep and dank soil but rather the shiny black outer bag of the cache!! Contents were dry, and cache was signed. Cheers
TFTC - Barad Bunch.
I parked at the top of Old Farm Road, intending to visit 2 caches.
Although it was sunny as I drove, the cloud had blown over before I started walking, but I only copped a bit of very light dwizzle on the way back.
After finding GC5K1EQ - McRobies - Tip Top, I made my way here, mostly following the tracks and trails, but a little bush bashing too, to cut off a couple of lonnggg corners, until I'd descended onto Slides track.
I walked past GZ recently on an HWC mid-week walk, but no time to stop and search - other than a cursory glance near a couple of (wrong) trees.
Today I found it in the second place I looked. Should have looked at the Zag first instead of the Zig!
All's well at GZ although the logbook is damp to the feel, but easily usable.
(I put the wrong date in the book, used 25th instead of 26th - D'oh ! )
Thanks for this caching series, of which I still have a few to go.
Cheers, EPs.

Dropped bike right on it without realising as GPS put us a solid 10m away from the cache. TFTC
Tranquil spot here. Enjoyed listening to the water, birds and surrounding bush. A moment of peace. Thank you
A surprisingly quick find considering my GPS was showing an accuracy of 25 metres.

Hi Barad Bunch, this was our sixth find of the morning and in your inimitable style the cache was placed brilliantly and wrapped so well, all the outer coverings were wet as expected but the log was dry and it is in a lovely area right next to a visually mesmerising running creek. As requested hidden away as found. As we were deciding which way to go from here, well there should have only been one way but we made it two!!! Thanks for your contribution to this great game.
Had the day off today so decided to collect a few caches by walking some of the tracks in lower Wellington Park. Our second in the WSSS series today. A beautiful area, except the encroachment of the tip close by. A relatively quick find once at GZ. TFTC
Thanks for the cache Barad Bunch.
The GeoGSP and I do love walking along the 'dog friendly' trails at the bottom of Mount Wellington, and now that the days are a bit longer, I decided there was time to have a look for this cache after work tonight. I loaded the GeoGSP into the car and we headed off. Of the track alternatives offerred in the description, we chose the last option, as I wasn't sure how long we would take. Not the most scenic route of those offerred, but it was quiet (apart from all the tip seagulls), and we only passed one other person on the track).
We actually made pretty quick time to GZ and once there, the cache was found in the first place I looked. I'd never been down into this gully before, and the area around GZ is a nice quite spot. The log was signed, the cache returned to it's hiding place, and then we headed back after a lovely early evening walk. Glad to have found another in the WSSS series.

I didn't find this cache a few weeks ago, but today I walked past again and searched slightly further away from my ground zero and the hiding place became obvious. The cache and logbook are a little damp, but t was still possible to write in the log book. There are warnings at the access points to this area that they are planning a hazard reduction burn this season, so it may be an idea to remove the cache temporarily. TFTC!
No luck here. GPS no help! Thanks for taking me to this pretty spot nevertheless.
Today we decided to tackle a few caches with whitewebbs from near the top of Mount Wellington down to the Cascade Garden. Mrs Whitewebbs dropped us off at the top car park and off we headed down the mountain.
This was a long day starting from 10 am and finishing at 4:30 pm. All the caches we found we in excellent condition and well hidden. This was a new area for us to visit with great views of the Derwent River, when the fog lifted, and seeing many pushbike and bushwalking muggles.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Having come up through the Cascades and doing "tip top", the bush looked quite open. Took a bee line down the hill to meet up with this cache. Quick find. Despite the efforts to keep this cache dry, it's starting to see some ingress. Thanks for the cache, cheers, Mr Eatmorchikin
Mr W and Mr T from Tassie Trekkers had earmarked this area for a walk to locate quite a few caches that have remained unfound for far too long. Mrs W and Mrs T dropped them off at the chalet and they headed off in thick fog to re-emerge in Cascade Gardens at 4.30 pm covering approximately 14 kms.. They thoroughly enjoyed the walk and all caches targeted were found and the log books signed. TFTP

Having previously searched, today I went back this way (forgetting how time consuming bike trails are).
A saw a likely place and sure enough there was the cache.

nice cache, easy find with clues TFTC TNLN log dry, cool sunny day great for caching.
Weather quite good today and decided that some of the lower mountain caches would be a good idea. Parked at the end of Old Farm Road and then made the walk along the trails and down to this cache. Pleasant walk until the last 50+mts down hill. Located the area and after a wander around spotted the likely hide and located the cache. Very pleasant and quiet area. All in good order in the cache.

I parked the car at the end of Old Farm Road and walked along the main fire trail and then half way down the Tip Top track, before heading straight down to a fire trail. Turned on the GPS and was only 74 metres away from GZ. Continued on down and made a quick find, signed the new log book and returned the cache, which is in good condition.
Thanks Barad Bunch for the cache.

Went down "Track A" today in the drizzle/rain. Track had become a watercourse and I was very careful on the way down. Very close to the bottom (within 2m) of "Track A" I managed to lose my footing at a step-down and went A-over-T backside into the mud; scraping and banging my right arm on the way down. With lots of mud and a little bit of blood (the intensifying rain was washing it all off, and i was soaked through already) I was not in the mood to look around here for too long; didn't spot the advice about the cache being on the Track A side and GPSr was going all over the place; and mobile had just gone flat (power pack pulled out of pocket, but then no coverage!!!). So the decision to stop looking and come back later was easily made.
On the plus side, I am now more familiar with Track A now such that I might tackle it in lower visibility (in the dry) than I would for an unfamiliar non-vehicular track - I'd only ever gone down this track previously in error before turning around. There seem to be many paths from the "less than salubrious" track to the stream, all seem to end up roughly at GZ.

We woke up this morning and the day was absolutely perfect so we decided to go caching somewhere near Mt Wellington. We looked at the CG map to see where there were a few caches we hadn't yet found. McRobies Gully looked like the place to be. We set off in the early afternoon and proceeded to find seven caches in the area. On the way we found several unmapped tracks which helped us along the way. This is a fantastic and interesting area to explore with plenty of wild life. TFTC and thanks for bringing us to this area which we will definitely come back to for further exploration.
Found this afternoon whilst out walking a circuit of the area

Initially looked in the wrong place, but eventually found through a process of elimination. A bit damp, but the log book is ok. This is a really nice area, even though it's so close to a pretty ugly area ( if that's les sense). TFTC
Another very interesting site to visit. I walked in on track b and was amazed by the big trees. Cache was a little damp but should be ok. TFTC
My second time here. The first time I was pre-occupied by those that had fallen. I left convinced it must have been lost or damaged by natural devices. This time knowing to focus on those that where upright I required only a short search.
I am pleased to report that both the cache and nearby tree are well. Despite rumours to the contrary the tree looks to be thriving and is certainly vertical. The cache remains dry and well hidden at its base. Since my last visit several new mountain bike tracks have been constructed in the general area.
I rather suspect that the tree in question has fallen down. This seems to be the fate of all trees in McRobies Gully. Certainly the tree right on the junction "Track A" and "Track B" is down.
I'll try another time. Perhaps when it isn't raining so much.

Final part of the description helped as there were lots of big trees down making access harder. TFTC Barad Bunch
Had to walk beyond Junction Cabin to move a new geocache because of a bad distance calculation blunder, so decided to collect a few on the way. From Pottery Road we went up to Breakneck Track, passing a family having a problem with a walking boot falling apart, then more uphill to Junction Cabin, a gentler bit past Lakins Lair and ending with the never ending descent of Old Farm fire trail to McRobies and finally a steep uphill again to New Town track and back to the car just before dark.

After such an unpleasant day yesterday, it was a very pleasant surprise to awake to a fine day. We decided to tackle three caches in the lower foothills of Wellington Park, entering at the end of Old Farm Road. It was a pleasant walk with no hint of a cold wind despite snow still being on the mountain. In fact, at times we got quite warm. We got as close to this cache as we could on one of the fire trails then headed bush - well, at least very open and light scrub. We became a little apprehensive as we approached GZ because of the large number of quite sizeable trees which had fallen over - we were wondering if the cache may have been destroyed/buried. We hunted around for about 5 minutes (GPS was slow to respond in this gully) before finding the cache safe and secure in its hide. The contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache Barad Bunch and for bringing us to part of Wellington Park we hadn't visited before.
I suspect that the approach to this one was via "track AC", as it was the next on the list after Thunderstruck !
The cache, while a little damp, was an easy find. Track B was the chosen exit and it was a nice little walk up the hill.
Thanks for the cache, Barad Bunch !

Quite a nice spot. A few recently fallen trees in the area but not the most important one TFTC
This was meant to be a quick visit which would leave me time to search for the Mossy Mystery, the details of which are given in the cache at Mossy Mystery 02. The distance was longer than I thought and so the Mystery remains unsolved (or at least unvisited). I approached by way of Track B and enjoyed the walk through the bush listening to bird calls. I didn't know that I had met Track B but my GPSR told me the cache was close and a short search proved rewarding. As I signed the log the only bird calls I could hear were from forest ravens. TFTC.
After visiting "Emenellas blue hideout" and "In the Foothills 1" I headed in the general direction of this cache. I think I must have come down "Path B" and happened on the cache quite easily. What a beautiful and peaceful area this is!
I came down to this one on the very nice Track B. I got a very wet head (raincoat protected body) because there were lots of low shrubby bushes that sprinkled me with drops when I brushed under them. Once at the cache location it took me a few minutes of wandering backwards and forwards to find it - when I eventually approached from a certain direction the hide was obvious. The creek was very pretty and it was a very nice location. I was planning on continuing in the opposite direction but Track A beckoned so we went up that way instead to check it out. I enjoyed this cache - a very pretty spot in what I would have thought was an unlikely location! Thanks BB.
After finding "In the Foothills 1" I walked the 100 metres back to the crossroads. There was a walking (motorbike) track heading straight down the hill in roughly the right direction for "McRobies Gulley Creek" so I headed down - steeply and slipperily (is that a word?) until I reached the creek. The GPSr didn't like it among the trees and took some time to settle. It took a little while but after a while I located and logged the cache. Thank you.
Strolling in the area finding other caches and this one was close by so had to grab it. TNLN. Thanks for the cache
Last find for us in this area today. It was starting to get windy and we're going up the mountain.....
Took me a while to find this as there were so many spots that matched the hint. Needed to be lower...
TNLN, thanks for the cache

Found this cache on a walk from strickland avenue to pottery road, collecting caches on the way. Had a good time with many walks up hills and down dales. Had a good walk and talk with a non geo cacher mate, who was happy to accompy me on a hike. Coords were 42 53.195 147 16.600. Gps accuracy 8m. Had trouble finding cache as the cache coords had us in a clearing with no trees. Cache was in a good condition and well hidden still.

Neil and Mandy found it at the 3rd of April 2011. Nice forested gully, it is a shame about the encroaching tip. GPS acccuracy questionable because of gully. Cash hints helped.
Having decided to go for a walk in the area after work, I wasn't really sure how far I'd get. I was pleased to discover the clear track running down the hill to the cache, and got down there pretty quickly. I decided to challenge myself and see how fast I could get back to the top - it took a bit longer! I liked how the cache was hidden. I hope the tip doesn't encroach any further into the valley! Thanks for the cache.
Walked in from a different start point to RebornCyclist. The sounds of workings in the tip were prominent both in and out. Saw a couple of big Hoppers. Quick find and signature to log. Down came the rain on the way back to the car! TFTC and cheers; OldSaint.
I parked at the top of Old Farm Road, and walked across Main Fire Trail (I rode along here and down the first ridge just three days ago!), and then took track B down to the cache.
A lovely little track, and quite a shock to suddenly see the tip from just close to GZ.
The hide itself was pretty and has that knack of standing out to a cacher while not attracting the attention of muggles.
On the way back, I found a more direct, but steeper track that cut nearly 500m off the walk.
TNLN.
Thanks, BB!

It looks as if I followed the exact route as RebornCyclist did to and from the cache only a bit latter.
It would be a lovely place for a picnic if it wasn't within the Hobart City Council Refuge Area.

As I got back to the car, someone else pulled up and set off with a handful of stuff. Alby?
