Took us a minute and used the hint but hubby found it, my little guy left a gemstone for the next cacher!
Managed to find this one tonight after dinner and had a little tour around town and picked up a few caches before heading back to camp. Found after a little searching and feeling about. Thanks wheres wolly for the hide.
Took a bit. Looked here first once read the hint. Couldn't see it. Bit sneaky hide.TFTC SL
We have finally reached our accommodation for 3 nights here in Port Lincoln. We are staying in the Port Lincoln Hotel which stands on the sight of the first house in Port Lincoln. Now as it was earlier than expected I looked for any caches close by. I found this one on the map and looked out my window, I am high up and facing west. Maybe I can see GZ, well just about but I can also see a long hill to get there. Oh well, I set off anyway. It was an interesting walk looking at the houses and gardens in this town. The soil doesn't look very nice, creating an attractive garden would be a challenge!I reached GZ. The elderly folk in the Pioneers Home would have a good view!Although the co-ordinates seemed a bit away from a likely hiding place for a cache I checked there first and bingo! CIH, LS and I could head back to the hotel and get a well deserved coffee before heading down to dinner. TFTC # 5942
On a surprise cruise trip (early birthday present from the kids). On land today so thought I grab a cache. With Bee Detective.TFTC SL (signing in Bee Detective as well)
We were in Port Lincoln Australia for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We went out early and did an Adventure Lab and found 2 caches, before heading back for our shore excursion. We found 1 cache on that and 2 more in the port area after our excursion and still managed to walk 7 miles on the day. We loved the waterfront promenade.Thank you to the COs for their caches and to the Lab creator for the nice walk to the statues.#####################This Cache: Quick Find and we even stayed dry.
OCW PelDroedGwin Picking up the last few town caches before we leave the area. A quick find here. Tftc
Thank you we found it it was in a very hard place but very thought-through.Thanks
Had to look for a while with frequent Muggle stops! A lot of people on foot heading to the foreshore for the fireworks tonight.
From 16 December 2023 to 19 December 2023, I and J plus the little one visited Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park, together with countless cities and towns on the way. We also found over 40 caches during the trip, including traditional cache, mystery cache, multi cache, virtual cache, EarthCache, and Adventure Lab cache.19 December 2023, Day 4 (last day), we found 7 caches. Spent whole day heading back home. This was our third find for the day, also 37th cache we found for the whole trip.At final location, cache has been found in a classic spot.Signed the log, and put it back. Thanks for the cache, wheres wolly.---- **South Australia will host a Leap Day Mega Event on 29th February 2024. Adelaide to Port Lincoln Road Trip!
Day Three: Whyalla to Port Lincoln.
Weather: rain in Whyalla!!!
One of three caches found in Port Lincoln after sorting out accommodation for the night and checking in.
I wasn’t sure about lurking around GZ with a torch for this one, but no cars came past and the deed has been done. Hopefully this one will survive a scenario where the host is put to use! I see it’s over ten years old, so the answer must be yes.
Thanks for the cache wheres_wolly_sharon.
It’s officially a Mega!

With rain expected tomorrow, we headed out with iluvtrekking to do dry weather caching. This is a construction site presently so had to return after hours to make the find. Thanks where’s wolly
Another cache found with richlink on a beautiful sunny day.
We had to revisit this cache after working hours in order avoid being observed by the builders.
Thank you so much to the CO’s who have placed and maintained caches for the enjoyment of all.

We visited here while on a trip around SA with our camper trailer. Definitely overdue posting this log as it was on 25 December 2021! We found this easy to find. TFTC.

The caching continued today with ilook4geo and this was one of the caches on the list that we found. The log was signed with both names and replaced as it had been found.
We much prefer country driving so we tend to not bother with caches located in suburbia. Some of the ones we had on the list for today we simply drove by, as they were located in very public and exposed sites.
Thank you to wheres wolly for placing this cache.

Went caching around Port Lincoln with goingplaces2 to add some more smileys to the map. Found a collection for the day, signed each one and then they were put back. TFTC.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
Off to the west coast for a Holiday. [^] Holiday Sal Style that is. We are sightseeing - if there happens to be a cache there - great - get it. Luckily caches are in really interesting spots anyway.
Day 9: Port Lincoln.
Out for our morning walk from our accommodation this was the second cache we visited. [^] After initially searching the obvious place we spread out and no success. So I returned to the original search side and had a better feel. This time I felt the prize. Pretty sure I have already had a boy look there! With school holidays and being a Sunday there was no working going on today.
***Thanks wheres wolly for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Workmen on site. Appears to be well hidden. Looked in a few “obvious” spots, but no time to look thoroughly.
Checked today. Replaced tin and put new log. Cachers beware - there are building works here, but cache not comprised, just need a LOT of stealth!
Happy caching and safe travels!

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
After having a successful day yesterday, we awoke with motivation and optimism for the day that was ahead of us. However after having our first geocache find, a rock had hit the vehicle's oil sump, leaving the car inoperable and requiring the car to be towed to a mechanic in Port Lincoln. The morning was then spent addressing the vehicle's repair plan, and then trying to salvage the remainder of our weekend's plans. We walked around the centre of Port Lincoln, before finding a hire vehicle for us, and then the afternoon was spent driving around the area. It was interesting seeing Port Lincoln's marinas and also caught glimpse of the shark cages. We ended up drowning our sorrows in the evening (whilst celebrating gridge98's birthday) at the craft brewery, which was probably a highlight of the day.
We parked nearby to the Pioneers Home, and subsequently made a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Arrive here no one was about so made for a quick and easy find
Well what a day it was, a day filled with more downs than ups and but overall a few caches were found in and around port Lincoln. Davidwazza and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula for a weekend away to clean up as much as we could and collect a few new LGAs for Davidwazza. This morning 2nd cache in we ended up cracking the oil sump in the car and having to sort out what to do and how to fix the issue. Lucky a mechanic was at hand and a prolonged trip was soon scheduled and a hire car was in hand. I guess things happen when you use a car for things that it’s not made to do.
Other than that a great day out.
Thanks for the cache

A groundsperson with a blower, a pedestrian and quite a bit of traffic all made us a bit nervous but we got it. TFTC
A better weather day in Port Lincoln while visiting relatives we could spend a few hours seeking a few more of these elusive hides.
Unfortunately some were abandoned, no longer there, destroyed or removed with no maintenance performed. Many by this owner of caches.
This was a quick find for us after finding a suitable place to leave the geo-mobile.

We are on the Vasco de Gama cruise ship for a few days. After the disappointment of not stopping at KI yesterday (understandable given the fire devastation) we were happy to arrive in Port Lincoln today. I didn’t set us the most interesting route as I wanted to get the 2 Freddo caches in town. I think the coastal walk would have been nicer.
In the end we walked 16.3km, found 13 caches, called in at 2 boozers and had lunch on the ship. A very productive day and still lots of caches to find in Lincoln if or when we ever come back.
Last find before heading back to the shop. Found in the first spot I checked don’t you just love it when that happens!! TFTC whereswolly

Found at 1:17 PM GAFF3.
When we searched for this cache in July 2015, we couldn't find it and now suddenly it appears in an easy to locate spot by just peering under the red cowling! The other odd thing about this cache is that the log book that is in there has the first log dated in 2016 - so is that a replacement without declaring it? Hmmm - some skullduggery by other cachers has been involved here I think.
Thanks wheres wolly

Found by Mary & David at 0845. Don't know how we missed it last time, but a quick find today. Call it cache blindness. A really cold morning. The last 30 years of Mary's nursing career was in Aged Care. Our thanks to wheres wolly.
Found It!
After a bit of wandering around I found the cache in the obvious spot. No need to get wet today!
