Staying in the Mount overnight for work and after dinner decided to head out and find a cache or two. Headed along the track and passed ny this one and located the cache in the first place I felt. Love that. Extracted the log, signed and replaced.

Found myself in Mount Gambier for the weekend for i, dax's birthday and shonky smurf's basketball tournament. Between the end of the basketball and the start of the birthday dinner we found a couple of hours to go caching along the old railway reservation.
In past years I caught trains here three times - first was behind R766 steam train from Adelaide to Melbourne, we stopped here overnight after a trip from Tailem Bend in pouring rain most of the way. The second train ride from here was Bluebird number 257 on one of the last few trips to Adelaide. By the time they finished the bluebirds were being replaced by busses more often than not and i consider myself lucky to have been able to catch it. The third train was a red hen run by the limestone coast railway to a Christmas Dinner in Tantanoola.
Thanks for hiding this series, I really enjoyed wandering along here reminiscing about the time the trains still ran, but it's a great effort to clean up and beautify what was really a blight on the landscape.
Really wish those bluebirds still ran here. Much nicer than the bus.

Out and about with Belimozan and friend to finish the trail. Great start for for them with 15 total for today. My geogandies were in charge of finding this one, with us giggling to ourselves as we watched them looking until after the 3 adults all saying we could see it, it dawned on the kids at the same time where to look. A little green army man was still looking after the contents, a reminder to buy more stash so my grandies can do some swaps. TFTC
Out and about caching the MGRL trail with earthlight, Cabbos and joined by my muggle sister.
Found this one along the way, quick find.

A perfect Sunday evening for a bike ride, a cache or two, and a pizznic at the rail lands. Easy find. Thanks.

After spending the night in Mount Gambier I had to about 2.00 p.m .before I had to start towards home. So with an early start I thought I might be able to clear up a few caches first.
Time for a walk. Thought I would park near the middle of the Rail Trail, walk one way, have lunch and then walk the other way.
Having got to one end of the rail trail I could see the track kept going the other side of the road. And this little cache beckoned me to find it. So I kept walking and pretty soon had this cache in hand too.
Thanks jantoshys for the cache.

Found it, but Lea wasn't too happy putting her hand in to retrieve. She braved it, log was signed and we were on our way. Tftc
Access to GZ was a little rougher than the rail trail but arrived at GZ and started looking through the longer grass. We soon found the container and were able to SL. TFTC.
with the river rising we were told to go on holidays so what do you do.
Caching time.
Now we have wandered down towards Anglesea and found many other like minded people so the caching adventure grows stronger.
soon the event was over so the wandering continued
Thanks jantoshys for putting this cache out for us to find

What a great description on this cache, we hope everyone reads it. It is such a shame the bluebirds don't run to the Mount anymore, wow we can imagine how many more trips people would do going to and from Adelaide, sometimes it would be nicer to travel by train than drive even if it took longer. Oh we also love that one of the carriages was "Kookaburra", very cool
Thanks jantoshys for the piece of history and a cache. Found, signed and replaced safe and sound as found. TNLN

In Mount Gambier with Happy Pants for a day of caching. We wandered to GZ and soon had the cache in hand. There's something nostalgic about old railways. TFTC jantoshys and for the history on the Bluebirds.
This one took us a little searching about before we came up with the goods, found with Yoshi Warriors this afternoon while caching around town. Love the old railway history, pity that there seems to be too much of old and neglected lines than new ones around. TFTC jantoshys.
Suscoe headed out early today as our time in Mount Gambier is quickly disappearing.
It was a very foggy start to the day but as time went by the blue sky gently emerged and a splendid day was had by us.
45 cache finds in total which was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed all the finds.
This is a terrific location for geocaching and we have loved our time in the Mount.
A pleasant walk and a quick find here.
Thanks to the jantoshys for placing this cache here.

Walked the last 150 m in the heat. Coming from NZL we are not used to this heat. Man is it hot.....takes the breath away.
Another great weekend with my geofamily, plenty of miles and smiles with a few geocaches found along the way.
I let geosis find this cache just to keep her quiet - is that possible?
Thanks for the cache jantoshys.

Day 4 of our trip to Mount Gambier and we all (Moneydork, Tounga, sushilord and I) had the whole day to cache while slowly heading home...slowly because there are sooo many caches to find
All up, I had 53 cache finds and 3 DNFs for the day.
A quick find in the obvious place that geobro didn't think to check first as he and geodad went for the most obvious place

It took a couple of minutes to find the best way to access this location and have safe parking. Once parked, it was a short walk to GZ where a quick find was made. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache iantoshys.
A quick find tftc

Well one of my kids knocked off the guys of my pen so a photo log will have to suffice. Thanks for the history....love these caches that help preserve where we came from.

Found on a wonderful day trip to Beachport with mogni.
At first we tried to access this one by road, but mogni soon informed us of the error of our ways. After a pleasant walk Mr M made the find. TFTC jantoshys.

That cache is going nowhere as its a good arms length to get! Nice night and no trains while out caching with my dog. Thanks
Looked for this one towards the end of a days caching but despite turning over many rocks, logs etc we just could not find it. Searched around where the clue suggested but to no avail. Will have to come back with my caching eyes on!!!
Searched high and low for this one but with no success. Will have to come back another time to find it!!
Found with the dynamic duo Freddo and TeamWaldron. It was really going to be a crows kinda day. Thanks for the fun!
Promise I did not leave a plastic dinosaur! Thanks to jantoshys and clear skies from TeamAstro.
Found during a 3 day cache run to Mt Gambier with Astro and Freddo.
