Down this way for a CITO and snuck off with GLISS! Aykeyem and unsuspecting sausage to grab this cache. A cool little adventure with water culverts to jump and birds to watch. Thanks for the extra dash of fun in our evening. TFTC
Wandered over from the nearby CITO, with a small group. Watched a cyclist being swooped by a magpie, but we all managed to not attract its attention TFTC - Nice quick find, in an interesting open area
I've attempted to solve this one numerous times, but a series of small errors always gave me some wonky coordinates that didn't work with the checksums. Today I decided to tackle it spreadsheet style, and inputted numbers sourced from a handy website. I had set up everything to automatically calculate numbers and compare against the checksum but I didn't need it since everything worked first try! That's a nice relief! From the previous cache the freshly mowed grass was navigated via the bike. Very glad it hasn't rained for a while otherwise this would be an absolute bog plane. After a while the very appropriate GZ was reached and the cache was quickly located. Now to get back to the track, where was it again? Thanks for the puzzle and cache Pacmania!
I sat down this evening with people from work for a trivia quiz. One of the men there is also into geocaching. I figured that we might work on a puzzle while we had two brains available I found this puzzle and recognised immediately what was required. Petenric looked things up and I wrote them down. Before the trivia questions started we had a viable solution. As soon as our team had won the trivia quiz, we headed out to the location. It was a short walk to GZ through not-too-long grass. While I was still wondering if we were even in the right place, Petenric had already made the connection! The cache was soon in hand, the log signed by the light of our mobile phones, and we were back in the warmth of the car. Thanks for the cache, Pacmania!
An interesting puzzel that took me to a few interesting places. In the early 90s I worked as a technician at two of the local radio stations. 2CA and 104.7. They had their studios in the Jolimont center on Northborne avenue. It was an exciting place with many interesting characters and always something on the go. My days were usually filled with cleaning tape recorder heads and the like. But once a week I would go out and visit the transmitter equipment at Mitchel and Black mountain to make sure it was operating correctly. A fond memory is listening to the radio coils in the AM 2CA transmitter singing along with what every music was playing at the time. With all the recent rain the ground was a bit wet so I got wet shoes making the find. But fun none the less. I suspect the ground plane has a pretty low resistance ATMThanks for the cache.
Solved over winter, I finally got around to wandering over to GZ first a quick find. In my early teens, I used to have a crystal radio set that Id built from a kit, and with a huge aerial, was able to listen to all sorts of stations, despite the remoteness of living in far west NSW. Thanks for the cache Pacmania
#3692 A good puzzle that I was able to latch onto the concept early. Most numbers fell into place but there were a couple that took slightly more digging.
Eventually DT and I had some suitable numbers and now a few weeks down the track we were in a position to visit GZ.
All well and our names now included in the log.
Thanks Pacmania for the puzzle.

Looked at many times over the past few years before resorting to a PFA to find which number I had incorrect. Once I was able to correct the offending figure soon had a good looking gz.
Not sure of the terrain rating after the recent rain !!
The river was too fast and hard to cross from the north so I attempted from the south. After wading through the swamp arrived at gz for a quick find. At least gz was slightly high and dry. TFTC.

I had an idea what to do with the puzzle and had it solved quite quickly during lockdown. Today while in the area I made a detour to locate the cache which is in a very appropriate spot - I love the old infrastructure at places like this!
Regrettably the log has been wet one too many times and is now pulp; it would benefit from replacement. Pic attached as proof of find.
Thanks, Pacmania.

I have solved this quite a while ago and it was really interesting.
On my quest for a daily cache I decided to get this one. The walking distance seemed OK for my busted knee.
The logbook is damp and quite pulped, but I still managed to write my name into it.

Found the cache. The logs are very damp, there are two in there and that’s just a bit much for a cache so small.
With GreyHams it was a great day to be out, a lovely spring day that was bordering on being just a touch too warm with a mask on but still so nice to be out and and an enjoyable day it was too.
International Earthcache Day was our priority, and we got to it eventually with a number of caches and adventure Labs along the way to end on Black Mountain... again!
Definitely came in the wrong way for all our recent rain! Mud and sludge galore but after the easily located cache was found we went back out the much better and drier way!!! Cache log is very wet and torn although still writes well but would benifit from being replaced at some point as its in two pieces as well. Thanks for the cache Pacmania!

I am slowly picking up all caches in my 5km radius. I normally don’t do theses caches as I’m cycling/hiking in Namadgi every week. So am really happy I have purpose as I cycled around the burbs while undertaking my exercise today.
Shame that so many people are NOT wearing masks as they walk the burbs. So, I wear my mask while cycling .
Quick and easy find in a lovely spot once I worked out how to cross the wide flowing stream with my bike. Loved the puzzle for kids and big kids (like me). Worth a favourite point for this and all the great caches placed by this CO. TFTC Pacmania.

Solved this one a while ago but only just grabbed it today while we were in the area, TFTC
Solved this a while back and finally came out here to grab the cache today with Sophiescout. TFTC
As restrictions begin to easy DTY73 and I decided to go for a walk to just get out of the houses. DTY had some solved puzzles to grab aswell as some trads we both hadn't found so we set off on our adventure
After picking up some other caches we headed out this way, I used to have friend who lived nearby so I know the area well after a short walk and admiring the stream we waited until the nearby muggles were otherwise occupied before making the quick find.

It was a lovely sunny morning to be out and about with Delta Response Team by my side and a handful of caches to pick up.
I had an idea of what this puzzle was leaning towards (knowing the CO a little I had some ideas), but I still needed help and a slap in the face by my TEacher to get the final coordinates right in the end. I can't say that this was really a hobby of mine, but I do like the idea of it.
DRT and I parked close by and took the long stroll to GZ, having fun with the little waterway and the dangerous banks ; ) After arriving at GZ the cache was found all safe and sound. Tftc Pacmania!!!

I was in the area and found this solved puzzle. A quick find with the good hint, but fiddly to get to the log and more so to return. TFTC Pacmania.
While in Canberra for the day and driving past this solved puzzle we came and added our name into the log.

First find of the day on the second day of our Canberra blitz picking up puzzle caches that have been worked out for quite some time - some of them so long ago they've even been forgotten by this time. Anyway, this go around we flitted from suburb to suburb picking up park 'n grabs (or very nearly so) clustered around the northern end of the ACT. By no means a power trail as most were scattered here and there higgledy piggledy which turned into a slow moving day in terms of overall numbers but we were thorough and painstaking enough so that at the end of the long day we still managed to scratch our way past the sixty-cache threshold, which was about ten better than we'd hoped to do. A few finds turned out more challenging than we wanted but overall everything was found in short order and without major difficulty. Well done to the CO's on that score. Apologies for the copy n' paste logs - most puzzles deserve a few more words than this - but gathering in a couple hundred puzzles in a short span of time amounts very much to binging the area leaving little time to reflect on what brought us here. Not to worry, tho, everything has been well worth the effort, and will bring us back several more days before we're done. TFTC.
Another day spent ticking off solved Mystery caches in Canberra with 154Crows. It's been very rewarding to convert hours of puzzle solving into finds. This time around, we tackled the NW section of the ACT. Again, we had another big day - 61 Mystery caches (10% of remaining) with 0 DNF's!! Thanks to all CO's for their puzzles and hides (apologies for the generic logs).
Easy find to start the day. TFTC

This took me several looks before it finally clicked. I had just over thought it. Once I had the in, I was then worried I had got some of the values wrong but the checksums all matched on my first attempt. Phew. A nice little puzzle.
Solved this back on 29/9/2018. Fast forward to today and I was in the area buying a board game and took the opportunity to come and find this and another cache nearby. I parked in a little side street off not far away and walked over. Found the cache straight away which was nice. TFTP

Very satisfying puzzle. Caught on to what was needed straight away but my first calcs had me in a wrong location. Advice from CO showed that I had an error with my south coords. A bit of research at 1pm last night helped me find what I needed. Thanks for the fun and the cache pacmania!
This one made for a nice quick find today On an evening walk with Hoppy.
Puzzle wasn't that easy for, i am maybe too young or having grown up in Germany didn't help either. I had an idae what to do but still took me quite some time to gather some sensible information for cords.
Cache in good order.
Thank you Pacmania for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
I really enjoyed this puzzle, some of the values were a little bit of a struggle to chase down but it really did remind me of my youth. No problem finding the cache in a most appropriate spot
Working through those Mystery caches which have been sitting solved but unfound. The sky falling!! This one has been 11 months waiting. TNLNSL TFTC
#3674 Found on what may turn out to be the hottest day of the year. The car was saying it was 38C outside at about midday when I was out grabbing this one.
It took me quite a long time to solve this one. I started it quite a long time ago but couldn't get the checksums to work & never followed it up. This time I got some help from the CO who put me right. Good to finally have this one done. Very appropriate spot for the final too.
Thx Pacmania

What a great cache. Had lots of fun trying to puzzle this out with Kittykatch. TFTC
Great puzzle and hide. Picked up the cache with Joolay after a little help from the CO. Thanks a lot - gets a FP from me
I first tried to solve this cache quite a while ago now but I didn't seem to have much luck in finding the sources I needed and was missing something. I was on the right track all along I just didn't find the right websites to give me the answers I was looking for!
Once I was in the right place however it all came together nicely. GZ was very appropriate and confirmed my coords so I swung by today to make the grab.
Thanks Pacmania!

#11355. Day 11 of our two week Canberra Holiday with Robmc. With Rob re-surfacing after being sick since Monday it was time to hop in the chariot and go searching for some solved puzzle caches, and a few others that popped up on the radar along the way.
Realised what this puzzle was all about very quickly but it took some time to get them all sorted that is for sure. What a strange area at GZ - a lot of open space, but all fenced off and gates locked. Anyhow, we walked across to GZ and whilst Rob attacked the grass seeds in his socks I located and signed the log. A nice easy find here this afternoon.
Thanks Pacmania

Day eleven in Canberra with BettyBoo3747. Been crook all week, but today was a bit better, so we ventured outside to collect a few mysteries we had spent so long solving before the trip.
Our co-ords had us right at GZ and there was the cache.
We were pleased to get there with dry feet, but I suspect it is more towards grass seeds this time of year rather than water.
Thanks, Robmc.

My solved coordinates had me in the middle of an open area some distance away, but I found it using my geo-spidey senses and a bit of logic. Very, very cool (feeling a little smug now [^]) . Thanks for a nostalgic and fun puzzle and an interesting and immensely satisfying cache hide, Pacmania.

Happy to have finally located this cache. A short wet walk from the car and there it was! TFTC!
Found the log shredded on the ground, but no sign of container bottom.

It was about time I solved more of the nearby puzzles so had a solving binge last night. Then despite the rain, I just had to find some of them on my way to doing the shopping. I quickly found the theme of the puzzle, but struggled to get the S co-ords to match the checksum. Using google earth they seemed good so visited GZ this afternoon. All I found was the lid, so haven't signed the log. I took a photo instead. TFTC.

Didn't take too long to get the puzzle sorted out but it has taken us a while longer to get out here and make the find. A lovely afternoon called for a short walk and we were soon at GZ. Like others, it took a couple of laps before we spotted it. Nice that the grass is freshly mowed too! Thanks Pacmania
Love a new log in the morning- well, evening really but who's counting? I've never been up close with one of these before. Quite interesting. E.g. I'd never thought about grounding lightening without disrupting the function. Clever. Why are there two? Why Are they separated? Is the separation distance important? I'd better go back to the car and stop all this wondering before my bollocks freeze off. Great cache! Tfth
Oh Boy Look Long grass everywhere... Keep walked though grass... found Lid but mirco gone and log... see photo... pls check .. thank
The only find of the day. I was so close to the end of my streak, at my 58th day, and was stuck for which one to find. I had caches planned for tomorrow and the day after but not today! Luckily, my parents need to get some things from a shop near this cache so that presented the perfect opportunity to grab my daily cache. I had solved this puzzle quite some time ago, when it was first published, but hadn't been out to this area to search for the cache until today.
We parked close to GZ and I headed over to GZ. There were a few people walking their dogs nearby but they didn't take much notice of me. Once I arrived at GZ, my GPS was going crazy and pointing all over the place. I remembered what it looked like on the map and narrowed my search down to that area and relied on my instincts to find the cache. I checked a couple of spots, from the wrong side at first, but then found the cache sneakily tucked away! Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Pacmania!

First look at puzzle, had the makings of algebraic contortions. Then factored in all the possibilities to get some likely numbers. Eventually got the checksums sorted and GZ looked pretty good on Google. Arrived early in morning for a quick find and sign. Had limited time before coming to ACT, decided to target some Pacmania puzzles and this is our last of 7 smilie Pacmania caches. Thanks for all the fun !.
I've had this one solved and on the yet to collect list for ages.
After trying a few things out, I discovered the correct frequency to come up with a good looking set of coords
So tonight after another huge day in the lab, I decided to swing by this one on the way home. Parked up at the red gate and strolled around the area of long grass to GZ. Once there it was on with a search. A huge huntsman spider was out resting up on one of the corners, but luckily the cache was well enough away to make the find!
Thanks for the interesting puzzle and for the hide, Pacmania

To start with I thought it was one sort of hobby, and some numbers seemed to appear, but then I ran into a dead end. So I tried again with another sort, and much more promising numbers appeared. I recall I had trouble with one of the numbers, but it was just a matter of trying a few options before the check sums matched up!
Ihad this one solved a couple of months ago, but decided to take a lunchtime run with Geoman to collect a cache. We were actually enroute to a different puzzle solution, when I remembered this one, and figured we should give this one a go! I was a bit worried as it had not been found for a few months, but after a couple of laps of the GZ, the cache was in hand. the new o-ring is not the best - it might keep the water out, but it left copious amounts of black on my hands! But hey, if that's the worst that happens to me while caching, I consider myself pretty lucky!
TNLNSL, thanks Pacmania!

After climbing the fence, we discovered someone's second home in the trees. Great hide. Found on holiday from Tassie. TFTC
Some of the numbers rang a bell when we looked at this cache (showing our age, you might say), however it was still a careful and methodical search which gave us what appeared to be a likely set of coordinates.
In the long run, the homework done at the computer was the easy bit, since the whole area is rather under water at the moment. When we arrived close to GZ, I really thought my work shoes would be fine for this little stroll, however, a few metres in and the heels began to sink. Drats!
Skirted around the periphery and managed to find a dry path. Lots of frogs singing near GZ.
Thanks Pacmania for the walk, the adventure down memory lane and GZ.

Cache 3 of 8 on a quick "I'm stuck in Canberra over Easter" caching run...
I've possibly have the record for the longest time between solving and fetching it. In 2011, I found plausible numbers very quickly, then a solution fell out right after. Managed to grab it today, making it around 3 years. I almost lost part of the cache in the grass too.... Oooops!

This one certainly took me down memory lane. I recognised immediately what was required and, apart from one hiccup, did not have any trouble locating the information I needed to determine the final coordinates.
When I noticed that this cache had not been logged since October, I was worried that I may have wasted my time on it last night. Happily, my concerns were unfounded as I spotted it as soon as I arrived at GZ.
A nice idea for a puzzle and an appropriate hide, thanks Pacmania.

# 6727 Found on a nice Spring day for a drive around the area.
The rain has gone and it's just perfect weather for caching.
No muggles around here today but lots of water instead.
I thought my co-ords may have been wrong at first, but after a good close search it appeared.
Thanks for the cache Pacmania,

After trying multiple sets of numbers and attempting a couple of locations I called in a couple "phone a friends" to check some answers. After confirmations of some of my answers the coords were confirmed and off I went for the 4th attempt. Took a little while to find the cache but once found discovered the o ring was missing and the logs were very wet. This one needs some owners attention to replace o ring and new logs. Thanks for the find
love this one, wasn't sure I got it right and put in the coords and GeoGlors and I walked and realised we should have gone on the other side, got to the GZ that we put in and within a minute GeoGlors spotted it....well done!tftc

This is also a great interest of mine so I really enjoyed the memories that the puzzle evoked. Had completed the cache a while ago but kept it up our sleeve until we needed our daily cache which was reasonably close to home. We set off after dark to give geohound a run which he enjoyed. The GPS pointed us about 30 meters from where we assumed the cache would be so trusting the electronic gadget we crossed the rift but it only led us to grasslands so back to where we thought in the first place and the first spot Geowife looked she had the little blighter - the hint certainly helped. Enjoyed the puzzle and the cache so a favourite from us. TFTC and the memories Pacmania.
#487 - 17:55; This one looked easier than it turned out to be. While most of the required information was located quickly, two pieces proved more of a challenge. Sadly, it was one piece each for S and E coordinates! A quick email to the CO confirmed that my search for the piece I was missing was looking for the right information, I just needed to keep working at it, but CO also advised one piece was actually incorrect. This incorrect piece had also taken a great deal of finding. Once the two missing links were fixed a couple of days back, it was off to GZ in the dark tonight for a pretty quick find and a d'oh moment whe I found GZ. TFTC and the steer on the info Pacmania .
After tales of wet and icy ground I was please to find the ground quite pleasant to walk upon. I'm glad the elevation of the cache was not somewhat higher .
I solved this very enjoyable puzzle back in July 2012. I must admit I did have to get a clarifiaction from CO, but after that the signals all seemed to line up. I saw an unusual aerial on my trek in to GZ. Thanks Pacmania for yet another enjoyable cache.
That was a fun puzzle, and although it is freezing, I think I picked the right time to grab it. All the bog was frozen, so made for a cleaner walk. Thanks.

It took us quite some time to cut through the static and block out the interference. With guidance from the CO who eliminated the squelch we were able to get a clear reception. This morning our name was added to the log.

This was a fun puzzle to work out - once again the vast internet came to our rescue. Having just picked up a particularlyricky puzzle near work, we decided to grab this one on the way home. The approach to the GZ was well and truly waterlogged forcing us to take a very circuitous route and at one point we though we might have to abandon the search and return with wellies. Fortunately, a dry path was found and the cache quickly uncovered. TFTC Pacmania!
Another cache where Steeba did the hard yards and I got to enjoy the final spoils.

I must say this is a perfectly contructed puzzle cache. It has been on my "almost completed" list for a while now and this morning I was able to finalise all the details. So with Cleared For Takeoff and Echo the Geo Hound, we made off for the find and a couple of others nearby. Found at about 14:15 this afternoon and amazingly the nearby creek was still frozen over! Once a kid, always a kid, we couldn't resist chucking some yonies to break up the ice!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Pacmania. It was definately a kids hobby for me too.
We also really enjoyed GZ, an excellent spot for a really great cache. A favourite point from us!
Cheers

I don't care if you support the Monarchy or the Republic, you are not a true Aussie if you don't enjoy a good public holiday - and what better way to enjoy a good public holiday that to head out caching [and to introduce my brother to the joys of geocaching!]. This one took quite a while for Marco to solve and it was with the help of his boss that he was finally able to do it. We walked in to this one and made our way to near GZ. After a bit of searching my brother was able to spot the cache. TNLNSL TFTC
445. Consider me guilty of this hobby years ago. Did the research today (and some) and made a quick find after work. TFTC.
The Stormcatchers solved this one around the Sunday lunch table with Mnjontour. Confirmed that we were on the right track and after some digging and searching we had all the information we needed...or did we...quick check with the checksum indicated we were slightly out but had an idea what was possibly wrong and after finding an alternate answer for one of the values we were back on track. I can see this getting quite tricky as time goes by but was a lot of fun and learnt something I never really realised as a kid. Entered GZ into the GPSr and we knew what we were looking at and we saved the result for another day.
It was very wet tonight and a break in the weather allowed us the chance to go out in what is coming somewhat of a tradition for us as we get closer to the 366 day streak milestone. We soon realised we werent going to avoid getting wet with a lot of long grass and what was an instant swamp. Who builds one of these in a middle of a swamp anyway? I think the terrain difficulty was slightly raised tonight as well . After trying to find the best way in we still had to slog across the swampy grassland and we reached GZ where we found the cache instantly. We found a slightly better way out but by this time our shoes were already soaked ! Thanks for a very cool little puzzle cache .

I knew where to source the solution to the puzzle when it came out as it was a favourite source of late night amusment to try and see how far we could listen.
This one has been sitting in the "solved" pile for a while so today was the time to drag it out and get the cache. A quick detour on the way to work and after a short stroll to GZ with Jac & Candy Cane it was a quick find at the site.
Thanks for the cache Pacmania

A nice stroll down memory lane with this one. Black Bunny had solved this one a while ago and decided to grab this one on the way to work this morning.

A nice puzzle and a fascinating place to visit - Mr Winglen was quite taken with the physics of such a tower staying upright without any guy ropes. Then he overlooked the cache as he was looking at his level, while I concentrated elsewhere! Thanks Pacmania.
2nd find for the afternoon of caching. Puzzle, well we were never really into this as kids, still a good puzzle though.

After being muggled out of two other caches, I headed out to this one that had been solved some time ago. Plenty of places to hide this one so thanks for the guidance. Thanks.

Found @ 4:50pm with hccatcher11415
When I first attempted to solve this one, I came up with some co-ords that matched the checksum but GZ was a bit odd when plotted on google earth. This was subsequently confirmed by Pacmania so it was back to the drawing board for me.
After fixing up a couple of numbers, the checksum matched again and the plotting on google earth made sense this time. hccatcher made a quick find.
The o-ring on the container has broken but the contents were fine, thanks for the challenge Pacmania!!

After allrounder did the problem solving for this one she showed me to GZ. located the cache quickly and while keeping an eye out for the couple of muggles walking their dog close by, allrounder signed the log for us.

Found whilst on a northside puzzle and multi day with Norkmeister, Agent Basil, dopplefrog and mtrax last weekend. Luckily, arriving at GZ before I had had a chance to look at the puzzle meant that figuring out how to solve the puzzle wasn't that hard. A bit of googling got me the required information...sneaky one in the east set threw me for a few secs but a couple of extra googles and the goggles became clear again. Checksums agree with that place I already was last week. TFTC.
Principled eh Norky ? Well here I am , first to log of the gang of 5 !!!!! Now, as CO says not to give too much away in logs, I'd just like to say ...gumph splix, fdgter, gneuter !
Easy recovery, across a slightly swampy field.
Apparently we were being "principled" today (I don't know what that means either) and so were ignoring some of the easy traditionals in the area.
Out on a multi/puzzle run with Agent Basil, Mtrax, BatGirl&Co and Norkmeister.
GZ was quite interesting too; TFTC!

A day of caching was planned in Namadgi, but a dodgy-sounding weather forcast put BatGirl off. A northside invasion was then proposed, which turned into a "no-traditionals" day where we would eschew straight-forward caches in favour of those less travelled caches.
Worked out what was required pretty quickly, but had to go further afield to get the full set. Today it was a quick find at GZ, near where I lost my wallet on the long weekend. It sat there for nearly 4 days until I was able to retrieve it on the way home.

caching around with Agent Basil, Dpppelfrog, BatGirl&Co and Norkmeister and found a suitable CP and a short walk to GZ I chose the wrong way as I think Batgirl got the find, so I ducked off to find another nearby trad. which I found was not the aim of the day but couldn't resist...
3834 + 186 = 4020. Found this afternoon after work with Sol.
I had the answer to this puzzle for a while. It took a bit of manipulating but then the answer popped out. Finally in the area again today so I made the trek to GZ and made the find - Thanks Pacmania !

Despite the foreboding grey skies and chilling wind, Captain Tomato and I ventured out geocaching today - 20 caches - deliciously weary after some walks in absolutely beautiful locations though open forest and along lakesides and along ridges which offered spectacular views - and all just around Canberra. I have to admit my windproof beanie was pulled down, and my wind jacket collar was up my neck
Thanks for this cache found on our travels....a really interesting object to check out
