Caches in Jellie Park historically have short lifespans. The area where the cache was hidden has been dramatically changed by the gardeners which is probably for the better for the area as some cachers have found some dodgy things during their searches. So, this cache will be joining the others from the park which have been archived so that I can focus on placing new caches.
It looks like this one may have gone missing again. I will check it out once I am back in town.
Had dropped RuruNZ at home and was heading home myself when I decided to try the ones in Jellie Park. Found JustMeG's tribute to ducks, then headed towards this one. Looked in the area gps had me with only a +-3m difference but no luck. It was just on dusk so with this failure, decided to head home to come back another day.
Tried again after sunset with no success again... Will have to come early one quiet morning.

#332 Have been here several times looking - this time MacPacDaughter had her hands on the prize within 30 seconds!
GPSr settled quickly today, only took three gos. Much easier when looking at right place, found home made bong. SL, TFTC.
Decided to try my luck at this while muggles ruined my chance at a nearby cache.
Engaged stealth mode and began searching. Didn't have a lot of success. While pausing to ponder GPS co-ords again I spied what turned out to be the cache. TFTC.

Nice hide. The GPS was pointing us at the other tree but we didnt listen. Never seen one of these that colour before:D TFTC
Looking in the dark with the geoboys. No luck with darkness... Will come back again sometime in the light of day.
Second time lucky here, found it in seconds this time. Perhaps the daylight helped? Not sure, but a smiley face for me! TNLN Thanks
A much easier find without the grandchildren and an additional clue. Thanks looking4thebroc I can knock off another dot day for a caching challenge.
Thanks, this satisfies my craving for such types of caches. We sure need more like this in this city.
On the homeward leg of a 51km cyclocache tour of the city and this is found cache #12. The cache was AWOL the last time I was here so it was great to be able to tick this one off today.
Went looking, didn't find cache but there was an empty plastic container, lid & pencil in the area. Not sure if the cache has been muggled again or not.
#676: Found the Re-hide!
Thanks to L4TB for replacing this one -- I had tried several times before, and now I've got it. No one around at GZ today, and was able to make quick work of it. Hopefully it will stay hidden this time. I needed this calendar day to fill in an empty cell (now 332 out of 366 days filled!), and I had a DNF on a mystery earlier in the day, so it was great to have this one as a backup!
SL/TFTC!

Up and running again. I had hoped to move the cache to a better location, but the new container did not work out and so back to the drawing board.
Please be vigilant when retrieving this cache during the day because the park is a popular muggle hangout.

Second try at this one. Actually, I came by here two days ago to have a try, but there was a gaggle of high-school muggles parked on top of GZ having a nice time. Today, one high-school muggle was sitting there, but finished what she was doing as I arrived. No one else showed up until about 15 minutes into my search, when another (male) high-school muggle appeared, and started rolling some kind of, ahem, cigarette while sitting at GZ. It seems this place has become popular with them. Could be the nice cover from the bushes and trees, or something else. None the less, I came up empty again, though I had another thorough search. I'll try again soon, and hopefully will have the place to myself.
It sounds like this one is gone. I will see about replacing it soon. You place one, you lose one. The never ending cache cycle.
Paced around for a while looking for this one -- I have trouble with broc hides!
Seems this little bugger can be tougher than expected! I look forward to the return visit.

Looked for in the dark using my cell phone light (left torch in WLG). Given my phone charger was also in WLG, I didn't look too long.
Was out hunting and met the Sallies crew. I don't meet many on my trips so asked lots of questions about tricky caches. Hope to see you around again. I was just there for this find.
3678. We wandered up the path and couldn't help but notice a geocacher standing right where we were heading. After a short chat we started our search and there it was - in a good spot for Stella (5) to grab. We all signed the log and then had a good 'geocacher's' chat with theroamingreliever.
Thanks

Had no luck on this one and the vegetation is taking a hammering unfortunately. My second DNF of the day.
Third visit with the help of a previous finder. Discovered I'd been looking in the wrong one. After that info still needed help. A nemesis cache dealt to. TFTC
A quick easy find, probably too easy as the hiding spot has been getting a little bit of a hard time making the cache more exposed, I do hope it doesnt get muggled. TFTC. Cheers Bo
I'm not claiming it as a DNF as the muggle concentration was too high to have a decent look. I'll be back!
Had quite a fossack around in the bush for this with the kids. Not what was expected. We enjoyed this one. TFTC
An early morning visit after over-nighting here for work. My first visit into to city proper since the big quake. TFTC.
One man and his dogs were the only possible distractions today. Cache found and signed. Thanks
Nice hide
I also looked in the adjacent bush for 2 minutes and soon had this in hand.

FINALLY! Found on 5th visit to location. Doesn't help when I was looking in the wrong bush the first four times! TFTC!
A nice area in the middle of the city. Nice and quiet today as the hunt ended with a smiley
Thanks

It took quite a while to spot this cache, which as others have said, is obvious when you see it. TFTC
Well, there is not THAT much stealth necessary. It's well hidden from view. Should last for ever!
We wanted to do one of this series while we were in Christchurch and this came up as we drove back to Casebrook after a day in Lincoln. GPS gave a couple of search areas. Mrs Sobad was just saying that we might have to flag it when Sobad spotted it. A good way to finish the afternoon. Thanks.
Having loaded my GPS for a trip to Christchurch a few days ago, I didn't realise that this one had been disabled. It took me a while to find it but this sort of cache usually does. I can definitely confirm that it is all good and still in place. Quite easy to see too if you get your angle of approach just right... TFTC, Biggles.
TFTC.
TFTC. I have enjoyed this series.
It was very busy at Burnside High School as they begin the sharing of the school with Avonside Girls High School.

From number 3 to number 2 on a drizzly day.But that did'nt stop two School Girls from sitting closeby.Stayed here a bit too long,as we were fixated on something else. But finally it was spotted.Luv the cute little container.TFTC
Losing light, light drizzle but did find this cache. Lots of cars parked at school probably now on the second & late shift of the school hours as schools not damaged by the quake share facilities with schools that didn't fare well.
Popped in after work to carry on with my MGSc studies. Took a few minutes to find. Cheers Gav [7580]
Second visit, too many muggles around last time for a good look. A bit quicker today, found by Mr C. Off to do a couple of caches we missed yesterday before putting on the roast for dinner. TFTC, TNLN.
Found it although it was hard. Very muggly area but we chose a quiet time and had fun. TFTC.
Was there after the memorial event without GPS-device - looked around for 30 minutes without hit. TFTC
I agree with Haldane. About to give up and blame the multi muggled Jellie Park;--- and there it was, as obvious as could be. Thank you.
Considered all kinds of options for this one, and then just as we were leaving PB had another look were all of us had looked before - and there it was. TFTC
Just about to give up when we spotted the cache-very tricky until you spot it and then its very obvious!! TFTC
An overcast cool mornings adventure with the family. A surprisingly quick find and then walked through
to the playground and let the wee dudes run wild...thanks.

We have not seen Jellie Park so empty before. An pleasant walk to an easy find. TFTC
No joy this moning. (06:00). Spent about 30 mins hunting. Gave up when the torch stated to fade and it was time to return home to get the kids up for school. Will ty again in daylight.
We needed quite some time to find this one.
All the best to everybody who was and still is effected by this earthquake.

An appropriate one for my first find since the quake.
Looked here, then there, here, another there and finally say it here! Not that it is hidden as such - just didn't register in my brain.

Easy this time with light - hope it lasts in this park ! Thanks for the series, had a good rush around for F2F's and some welcome relief from the last few weeks.
Best wishes LGM

Took a few minutes of hunting. Was not what I expected. Given that this is one of the regular smoking spots for the local high school students, it might be best to avoid coming here at lunchtimes. TFTC
Well, the stealth attribute doesn't apply at 6:45am! Not another soul seen, but the cache wasn't either. Hmmm. I'll be back.
FTF wooho. 15 mins after publishing( 5min to get coordinates 5min to drive to it and 5 to find the cache.
Thanks
Thanks
We had already found our F2F earlier , called in with the off chance we might find it with failing light & no equipment - had a great time chatting to the others who were there. Getting a bit late for Little G so we bugged out. Best DNF had in a long time !! Will pop back in the future. Happy for Troutburger he has been pipped at the post a few time lately!
Second STF for today. Met some other unsuccessful cachers there, who left the place before I found it.
