We had an overnight stop in Wangaratta to break the trip from Canberra to Melbourne and this morning we are looking at a few caches we havent done in the past. The search for for this container took a few minutes with some care due to the barbed wire. I then saw a likely spot and we soon had the cache and log. Thanks to Chewinprickles for the cache.
----------###**CACHE OWNER PLEASE NOTE**###----------In these circumstances and for a number of reasons, if you cannot attend to an issue within a couple of days, then the correct log to use is an 'Disable' log, please. You will see I have disabled the cache on this occasion. Once you have rectified the issue and the cache is once again Guideline compliant, please post a Owner Maintenance log indicating what you have done and then enable the cache.**If you could respond to this request within 14 days (by 15th July), please.** If it is not possible to attend to the cache by that date, please post a Write Note log indicating a date when you hope to attend to the cache.
I expect to be back in the area, late June and intend to replace this log soon after. Thanks
I'm away at the moment but I note the prompt about a new log required. I'll get to it when I return
The wife found straight away. I dont want to bring her anymore haha. She never gives me a chance. but the log needs to be replaced ASAP. I had to write in the middle somewhere. TFTC
was wondering how you would hide this with the school right there. Was also a Little worried when I saw a dead redback spider. But cache in hand quicklyLog full
Took us forever we were about to leave when we gave it one last go and found it sneaky as little one
Forget to log this one yesterday, this was a quick find with a very clever usage of the environment
Heading homewards after a family holiday at Beechworth, we managed to find many caches.
A nifty little hide, found in drizzling rain. Thanks chewinprickles.

Following the station signs along the old railway line, this was a clever hide, especially being right outside a school. Just don't do it as the bell rings! TFTC chewinprickles
Out collecting a few caches while in the area. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Found the sign but no cache. I found a spot in a tree just across from the sign which would be an awesome hidey hole!
We found this as our first geocache far on our bicycles and we look forward to finding many more
We found this as our first ever Geocache together as a class of CCW. We look forward to trying to find many more.
A trip from Canberra, ACT to Whittlesea, Vic with a few side quests for LGAs. TFTC.
Interesting history. Nice hide. Quick find.

This little one reminded me of my time as an exchange student back at Catherdral. TFTC! Found without difficulty on a lovely morning walk.
We decided to head south with albida33, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK to tackle the Wangaratta area. With half of our team out collecting the WCT Challenge trail, the injured one went in search of some easy grabs to pass the time.
After doing a few solo it was time to go pick up Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK from their camping spot. Then we set out to pick up more caches along our journey to then meet up again with the rest of the crew after they had finished the challenge walk.
This was one of the caches along our journey. No issues with this one. Signed and moved on.
Thanks to the troupe for letting us tag along on this weekend adventure, we had a great time.
Thanks for the hide chewinprickles

Day 1
With a long weekend in Canberra this weekend, Fitzy_1965 and I headed back to Wangaratta with several other cachers to clean up some areas we didn’t get to whilst at the recent Mega.
Fitzy_1965 and I left home early and got to Wangaratta late morning. We met up with FurfacesLL and did some caching before we were to meet up with albida33, Joolay & kittykatch.
We had a great afternoon caching then all headed into Wangaratta for a great dinner at a pizza bar. Lots of great discussion about caching and our next adventures.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to the CO for placement and maintenance.

After getting lost and going down another path, we eventually found path to Milawa. Could not make it and had lunch at Oxley instead. Still a Marathon 42km on bike for me

A quick find with Budgietas and 1TOOLMAN. Another station gone for good.
Thanks Chewinprickles
I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!
Thanks Chewinprickles

Nice quick find in a very interesting sign

The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)
The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.
Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.

A favourite for me! Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Spent most of today with albida, Smittengranny and GLISS! Always great when we can cache together. Thanks for the cache.
It was terrific to attend the Wangaratta Mega. The weather was fabulous. The caches were top quality. The area was very interesting an it was lovely to meet up with other cachers. This cache contributed to my mega experience. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
Out caching with Gliss, Nibletricecakes and Albida33 this afternoon grabbing S many caches as we can in the local area. TFTC ⁷chewinprickles SL

Found as we explored the area after enjoying time at the Mega, thanks for bringing us here and TFTC and the fun
Found whilst in town for the Wangaratta mega. Quick find at GZ. Awesome hide, very well constructed! Lovely views from here too although it was getting very dark and stormy over the clouds.....time to head back to the hotel! TFTC chewinprickles!
A mega jaunt with endeavour3 saw us caching this cache and writing in the log, then we moved on. A lovely place to explore.
Thanks to Chewinprickles and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

I have joined forces with TeamAstro to attend the Wangaratta Mega. Found on our return to Wangaratta from Edi to visit another geocacher who was camping there

This was missing on our last visit, so we were happy to note it had been replaced. A good hide that surprised us it could be muggled.
Thanks Chewinprickles for the placement.

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we had a lazy sleep in and a late start with the mission to head back to Beechworth and have lunch at Billsons Brewery. On the way we revisited this one, seeing that the CO had done maintenance. Went back to the suspected spot and Bingo! It is so great to see CO's here responding to DNF's and maintenance straight away! TFTC
This one had gone missing not due to muggles, but apparently inadequate fixing.

After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and then set out to cache! Had a thorough search around here, looked in a couple of likely spots but left empty handed. With the upcoming Mega looming, It would be great to have all the caches in the area in tip top condition!
Found the remains today, contacted the CO and confirmed it had been muggled .
Good hide. Thought I found it but didn’t. Then, it turned out I didn’t look in the one spot hard enough. Good Hide. TFTC.
In Wang for the day and spent it caching in different areas. Thanks for the rail trail cache.
Replaced the log, which was completely soaked. Still need to modify the hide so it stays dry but should be all ok in the short term. Summer time.
Placing this entire series on hold, mainly because there is much needed maintenance required and I am unable to legally attend to this while the Covid restrictions remain.
