On our way home from a weekend in Bright and a quick stopover at gz to add my name to the log. Thanks for the cache Chewinprickles.
Lovely ride from Wangaratta to Malawi and back to enjoy a nice lunch at a wineryThanks!
Mrs Woodyrothwell and I always holiday in wine regions and this time we had chosen to stay in Wangaratta so we get could hooked on Prosecco in King Valley. We had already made the 30 minute drive down twice and we were off again to visit Dal Zotto today. We also took the chance to finally grab some caches on the way.I record the caches we find by taking a screenshot of them so we can log later. When the phone is plugged into the Apple Car Play in the rental car it also takes a second screenshot of the song we are listening to at the time.Song: Twenty Zero OneArtist: JamiroquaiAlbum: A Funk Odysseytftc

Quick find, out and about with Geowife and Geodog exploring the area. All good here. TFTC
The OSHFAM clan including geo dog Roxy came up to Punkah for a few days to spend time in our shack before school starts next week. On Saturday lunchtime, I sent the family home and Roxy and I stayed on for an extra night on our own enjoying caching adventures. Today it was time to head home again, so after packing up, Roxy and I hit the road around lunchtime and didn't get home til 8pm caching our way all the way home.
I always stick to the main road when driving back home but today without whinging kids and hubby, I decided to venture out onto the backroads to grab a few caches.
A quick find and grab was made here.
Thank you for the cache here chewinprickles

We decided to head south with albida33, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK to tackle the Wangaratta area. With half of our team out collecting the WCT Challenge trail, the injured one went in search of some easy grabs to pass the time.
After doing a few solo it was time to go pick up Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK from their camping spot. Then we set out to pick up more caches along our journey to then meet up again with the rest of the crew after they had finished the challenge walk.
This was one of the caches along our journey. No issues with this one. Signed and moved on.
Thanks to the troupe for letting us tag along on this weekend adventure, we had a great time.
Thanks for the hide chewinprickles

Day 1
With a long weekend in Canberra this weekend, Fitzy_1965 and I headed back to Wangaratta with several other cachers to clean up some areas we didn’t get to whilst at the recent Mega.
Fitzy_1965 and I left home early and got to Wangaratta late morning. We met up with FurfacesLL and did some caching before we were to meet up with albida33, Joolay & kittykatch.
We had a great afternoon caching then all headed into Wangaratta for a great dinner at a pizza bar. Lots of great discussion about caching and our next adventures.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to the CO for placement and maintenance.

Found don’t know why I even used coords when it was the best spot. Tftc chewinprickles
Today I finally managed to find a challenge cache that I'd looked for twice before. I'd qualified a while, but geowife Malipara needed a couple of caches to finish it off. This one fitted the bill nicely, so after a nice dinner at the Wangaratta RSL we headed out. The find was swift and the log was signed amongst the zillions of little insects that were also enjoying the beautiful warm night. Oh, and Malipara picked up the stat. Thanks Chewinprickles for this cache placement.
Overnight stay in Wangaratta. What else do you do to fill in time on a lovely evening? Go caching of course. Thanks for adding to out evening entertainment
Moved from Wangaratta showgrounds following the end og the Mega 21, and returned to Brown Brothers for an overnight stay and to get the bikes out and ride around the area and see what we could get. Reasonably cool morning with an ocassional shower, but not enough to get wet, plus a few more klm on the bikes.

Find No: 8347. Visiting from Newcastle, attending the Wangaratta MEGA, thanks for the cache Chewinprickles!!
Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Spent most of today with albida, Smittengranny and GLISS! Always great when we can cache together. Thanks for the cache.
It was terrific to attend the Wangaratta Mega. The weather was fabulous. The caches were top quality. The area was very interesting an it was lovely to meet up with other cachers. This cache contributed to my mega experience. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
Found . Once we stopped looking at the railway station name sign & looked where the actual cache was - easy

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and then set out to cache! This was a quick find! TFTC
Thanks for the series. Did not previously know that a railway went along here. TFTC
Headed out with Wright_stuff for a well overdue catch up and caching day. With the border now open we decided to cache around Glenrowan, and the King Valley area.
Thankyou for the enjoyable series

Not as much risk of being sucked in by a B Double here. Took a head turn to see the sign.
I’m sure it will start to snow at any minute it’s so cold outside. Ah the things you do to find a geocache!!!

Placing this entire series on hold, mainly because there is much needed maintenance required and I am unable to legally attend to this while the Covid restrictions remain.

On a mission towards reaching my 1000th cache in my first 12 months of caching. Team OZCAT nearly done for the day
Made a wrong turn earlier which is how we found ourselves out this way. Happy accident as we were able to call into the Milawa cheese factory and pick up some goodies.
This one proved to be a lot harder than we thought, this is a super busy road and it was really hard to get out.
Luckily managed to get it out without being seen.
All in good order.

A few weeks ago I looked at my tally and thought I would struggle to crack 1000 caches for the year. But a consolidated effort over the last few weeks and more than I expected on the recent work trip numbers suddenly things looked positive - had a few calendar holes to fill and some potential trips to get the last 22 required. However when the offer was made to visit Milawa for lunch and the suggestion of taking two cars so that I could go geocaching afterwards was made I jumped at the opportunity. So after morning tea at Brown Brothers and lunch at the cheese factory I parted ways with the rest of the family (I took the geohound) and started on the caches around town. 23 caches (and 1 DNF) later the magic number was reached and now the challenge is to beat last years total.
Headed north to get this one before turning south again. This one was a much quicker find - seems random containers will be the way of this series. Log signed, clue photographed and returned as found.

Sign has bit the dust but cache there - easy find in the dark! This is a good historical series. TFTC
Found this one today after dropping the kids off at their school nearby and this was a nice quick drive by, actually spotted the container on the ground and after signing the log put it back safe and sound where it should be, thanks chewinprickles for the hide and the history of this old train line.
Ilukaperi and I were on a mission to bring ammo cans to the big smoke. Well, we were heading up to Wangaratta to pick up a delivery of ammo cans for people back in Melbourne. Anyhoo, why head up the boring old Hume Hwy, when you can take the back roads? So we decided to cache between Mansfield and Wangaratta, via Whitfield. I took over the driving at Mansfield, either because she was scared of driving on dirt roads or she wanted a good laugh at me trying to drive a manual car for the first time in 10 years. Whatever the case, I had done a bit of caching along this route before, so she had more finds than I did today, but not this one.

Day1976 dropped all the logbook papers and so had to quickly pick them up before more cars drove past.
The first task of the day was to get myself to the Everton General Store by 8:00am to rendezvous with Nigel from the Bike Hire Company (great guy great service) from who I was hiring a bicycle. Mission accomplished with a few quick finds along the way. Cheers and TFTC
Today we are heading out to find the Gourmet Run caches and these happen to be along the road we travel on. SL TFTC
