This trip is the...ADELAIDE MEGA TRIP (returning home)This cache-which challenge/ why?LGAleg stretch Had a great time catching up with friends and caching ourselves silly at the Mega in Adelaide and now I'm wandering home to Brisbane.Had planned to go to a few places in the high country but a big storm sent me running for more open spaces. Hadn't been able to come to the Mega here so it was a new playground for me. Scanning the map I noticed an event on this evening as well as four virtuals and a couple of solved puzzles so I put the skates on to see what I could get done before the event. Pulled up here to make a quick find once some muggles had moved on. This one was lidless and I wasn't able to locate it on the ground, the log was okay though. We have an Oxley station too in Queensland but it is still very much in use on the Ipswich line. TFTC
After relocating the spider guarding the cache we signed the log and admired the view, TFTC.
GPS wanted to take me into the property thankfully I do now better. Cache found on public land..
Im on my way to Lake William Hovell for a days canoeing and thought Id stop off on the way to collect the cache or two
I was heading up to Bright from Melbourne today to join friends for a week touring the high country... taking my time so I could find caches in the Benalla and Wangaratta LGAs... the things you do when you get bitten by the "challenges bug". Time was getting on but at least I had found my Benalla LGA quota... so it was now time for Wangaratta LGA... and fortunately, only a couple of caches still needed. I had tried for this cache about 4 years ago... and ended up with an annoying blue "sad face" on my map. Today, I am pleased to say, I was able to change that to a "smiley face". Thanks **chewinprickles** for putting this cache here.
Driving along the old rail route we stopped to collect the cache at each station site. ️ This was a standard hide with a twist. Nice job chewinprickles!
Heading homewards after a family holiday at Beechworth, we managed to find many caches.
We searched for this in the rain, only to find it in on the ground in long grass. We replaced it where we thought it should be. Thanks chewinprickles.

I was heading up this way to catch up with friends and to camp out with them at Broken Creek for the weekend.
After staying in Benella for the night Beechworth is my destination for the day before heading back to Broken Creek and to met up with the rest of the gang.
The weather has not improved much this morning so it looks like it might be a wet camping weekend away.
The main plan of heading to Beechworth was to complete the Randolph series but after finding 5 of them and also the lab final the weather finally beat me.
I was just to cold and wet to continue so back to the Geocruiser and head back to Benella.
After a bite to eat and the comfort of the dry Geocruiser the rain decided to stop so I was able to find a few more on the way back.
Thi one was the last one for the area and thanks for highlighting where the station used to be as a lot of the time I would normally drive right on by.
Of course I started looking in the wrong place but I eventually came up with the goods.
Thanks chewinprickles TFTC.

Grabbed on our way past this morning. I was scratching my head for a bit. Hubby jumped out of the car to help just as I found the nicely hidden container! Phew. Love this series highlighting the old railway stations. Tftc chewinprickles. Day #20 of my consecutive finds challenge streak!
Heading home after the Rutherglen Mega we made a detour to Milawa and Oxley to enjoy some caching and adlabbing!
Started searching in the wrong area initially but we finally got there in the end.
Thanks Chewinprickles for the placement.

Very clever hide.
Almost had to return to the car for my "extraction tool" to retrieve the log, but managed to dislodge it with my hands.

Took a bit of looking but found it eventually.. We were looking for something much smaller than it turned out to be lol. TFTC
Geoturtle37 and I had visited this area some time ago and we thought that we had done all in this series but as it was early on we didn't understand that we needed to collect the clues. Now it seems that they might not be relevant. Making sure to log the find this time. Thanks for the cache.
Out and about today with Geowife and Geodog exploring the area. All good here. TFTC
The OSHFAM clan including geo dog Roxy came up to Punkah for a few days to spend time in our shack before school starts next week. On Saturday lunchtime, I sent the family home and Roxy and I stayed on for an extra night on our own enjoying caching adventures. Today it was time to head home again, so after packing up, Roxy and I hit the road around lunchtime and didn't get home til 8pm caching our way all the way home.
I always stick to the main road when driving back home but today without whinging kids and hubby, I decided to venture out onto the backroads to grab a few caches.
Walker_4 obviously hasn't found enough caches as they got far too excited in describing this a super creative cache. I will say that it was nicely placed though. The horse in the paddock decided to come over and say hello.
Thank you for the cache here chewinprickles

You have definitely earned a favourites point today

Being a bit of a gunzel, Vinz would have loved to do this series from end to end in a single outing, following the route of the first ( and shortest lived) of Victoria's "Puffing Billy" narrow gauge railways.
Unfortunately life, floods and the need to earn a quid mean that today's efforts were just a quick divert off the Snow Road to grab this one and it's siblings to the South.
No real issues with hunting this one down, nice and dry due to being nice and high.

A trip from Canberra, ACT to Whittlesea, Vic with a few side quests for LGAs. TFTC.
Big storms last night so water everywhere. Cache and log are nice and dry.

Slightly wet today but lucky to be able to have a “driver” to take me straight up to GZ

Camping caching with Flaggys and MooFlagg. We had a great time doing this mini trail and racing to find the caches. Great sign series, interesting about the train line. Nice hide here. Tftc.
We decided to head south with albida33, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK to tackle the Wangaratta area. With half of our team out collecting the WCT Challenge trail, the injured one went in search of some easy grabs to pass the time.
After doing a few solo it was time to go pick up Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK from their camping spot. Then we set out to pick up more caches along our journey to then meet up again with the rest of the crew after they had finished the challenge walk.
This was one of the caches along our journey. No issues with this one. Signed and moved on.
Thanks to the troupe for letting us tag along on this weekend adventure, we had a great time.
Thanks for the hide chewinprickles

Day 1
With a long weekend in Canberra this weekend, Fitzy_1965 and I headed back to Wangaratta with several other cachers to clean up some areas we didn’t get to whilst at the recent Mega.
Fitzy_1965 and I left home early and got to Wangaratta late morning. We met up with FurfacesLL and did some caching before we were to meet up with albida33, Joolay & kittykatch.
We had a great afternoon caching then all headed into Wangaratta for a great dinner at a pizza bar. Lots of great discussion about caching and our next adventures.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to the CO for placement and maintenance.

Tricky to spot as it blends in well

Moved from Wangaratta showgrounds following the end og the Mega 21, and returned to Brown Brothers for an overnight stay and to get the bikes out and ride around the area and see what we could get. Reasonably cool morning with an ocassional shower, but not enough to get wet, plus a few more klm on the bikes.

Find No: 8346. Visiting from Newcastle, attending the Wangaratta MEGA, thanks for the cache Chewinprickles!!
Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Spent most of today with albida, Smittengranny and GLISS! Always great when we can cache together. Thanks for the cache.
It was terrific to attend the Wangaratta Mega. The weather was fabulous. The caches were top quality. The area was very interesting an it was lovely to meet up with other cachers. This cache contributed to my mega experience. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
Another good hide Nice find with little blue wren

Replaced the cache! This has morphed from the original container, was a bison at one stage, now good to go again. Apologies to those inconvenienced.
In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and then set out to cache! Found a mangled Tin? maybe a mint tin hanging in the tree. Log strip was missing so we put a new one in, but the cache definately needs some TLC. TFTC
Cache is still there but completely mangled. A new log strip has been placed, but CO needs to replace.
Echoing the previous cachers sentiments, cache is well and truly squashed and log cannot be accessed.
Found in tree but has been run over by mower. Totally destroyed but had been hung back in tree.Needs to be completely replaced. TFTC
Headed out with Wright_stuff for a well overdue catch up and caching day. With the border now open we decided to cache around Glenrowan, and the King Valley area.
As we were signing the log the homeowner came over to let us know that the cache was missing. He has been keeping an eye on this cache for the past 11 years. We showed him where we found it as it has been moved slightly due to a broken branch. He asked many questions about the hobby that we all seem to be addicted to, how the app worked, how many caches were in the area etc etc. Hopefully we will see a new caching addict amongst us soon.

Meet the property owner, had a great chat about how he found this by accident and now keeps an eye on it.
Thanks for the day out Stephenson5

Another delayed log. It took a while to spot this but a couple of points in the right direction from the compass and then deciding to trust it helped. Great cache TFTC
I think this will be my last one foe the day but I've thoughly enjoyed this series thanks
Found (again) under torchlight (again) this time with the company of catnap777 on our way home from a bit of midwinter fun in a dinghy on Lake William Hovell.
This proved to be the last SoS cache found on our torchlight escapade. I still have a couple north of here to sign again but this is where we called it quits. It was a huge day.
TFTC Chewinprickles, my apologies for failing to log my visits on your excellent series the first time I was here.

Cycling along trail to Milawa- great opportunity to collect some geocaches thank you
This time I saw the sign first. No need to turn my head just looked up... well Snips & Co did. I retrieved.
A quick find and the sun decided to come out and warm us up a bit on our quest for the cache. SL TFTC
Placing this entire series on hold, mainly because there is much needed maintenance required and I am unable to legally attend to this while the Covid restrictions remain.
