After finding another cache in this direction, @jtp2001 and I spotted this one on our way home, and figured it'd be a waste not to stop. After a bit of puzzling around the hint item, we made the a-ha moment of this cache, and signed the log. TFTC!
After a successful couple of finds with bapboy1996 we grabbed this one on the way back. Cache location was quickly spotted thanks to the hint but took a second to locate the actual cache, we'll blame that on it being nighttime though. TFTC
Sneaky sneaky. First and only cache of the day after the rain got the better of us
Great hint therefore a quick find. All good with the cache. Ants like it too. TFTC.
Great spot! Had to come back second time with the rest of the crew - for I wasn’t able to find it on my own. Thanks!
Had a few spare minutes in way to work today took a quick detour to grab this one. Fairly quick park & find cache. Great camo!!
Last cache for the day, and a good one to end on.
This started as a dot day.... but look what happened.

Out on the Smile trail with Tramyard! And for the third time in a row this also wasn’t a Smile, but what do you know, we’re passing through and it has a lot of favourite points, so it was worth stopping for. It didn’t take long to find. The hint kind of helped… I think??
Thank you G-2 for another unique one!
Thank you G-2 for another unique one!
My intuition led me straight to the right spot but it took me a few minutes before spotting the log. Great hiding spot
Have driven by here so many times without realising there was a cache. Found it and like others put our hands on it more than once before really seeing it, sometimes doing G-2's Caches, I'm amazed I can find my own bottom with my hands.
Out today grabbing some favorited caches around Auckland.
Can’t say I 100% understood any references on this one, but I found the cache with relative easy, it’s missing it lid however!
Another nicely crafted cache!

I couldn’t quite make sense of the hint until I reached gz but then the cache revealed itself. Cool hide. TFTC
That is a very cunning hide which was spotted by one of us in the end - very well done. Well worth a favourite. TFTC # 16,054
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
We spotted the reason for the name when pottering around the region today. It took longer to spot the cache after being distracted by the obvious. Caching as part of a group from Nelson, one of the group said the magic words. Log signed as INSS. Very nicely done and worth a favourite point.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I got lucky here because the cache was actually lying on the ground and so was clearly out of position as the hint say NOT on the ground. I’m not sure exactly where it should be so I propped it up ands sent a message to the CO so he can sort it out if he’s unhappy with where I’ve left it. The lid of the mint tin is missing, but the log inside is beautifully dry. Certainly once you find it everything in the hint and the cache title falls into place. I'm sure it would have got an FP from me if it had been in its correct position!
It took a while, searching around an area with several possible hosts. Eventually the cache was found without a lid and lying in the open. Replaced nearby and a photo has been sent by Antnich to the CO. Super cache! A passing estate agent thought we were lost as we stood logging the find - very kind of him! TFTC
Really busy today with traffic, tried to be inconspicuous but nothing became obvious might come back on a quiet Sunday morning when I'm not so worried about giving the game away.
#794. Thought I'd stop by after seeing all the favourite points. I was expecting something different based on the cache page but once I was there it all made sense!
Ladybugs galore were present.
Thanks for the cache!

It was a bit of a tragic area, reminding us of how many die in traffic yearly. As cars swooshed past, we turned our backs to the remembrance site. Suddenly we spotted sth strange. And ofcourse was the cache! Tftc
Yes we sPotted da cache. I was hunting elsewhere but soon heard the call from another team GOLD member - "found it". Another neat hide. This was definitely a fun day with lots of variety in the hides. I'm glad the Carnival Souvenirs focused on highly favourited caches and rewarded CO's for interesting hides as it make the game so much better for us all. Thanks
Team G0LD ( Lis's Crew, DaffyNZ and 0B80B8 ) on a mission again with two main objectives today. The first was to locate all the Smile series caches that we had worked on solving over the last couple of months and the second was to find enough other high FP caches to get the required 500 points for the caching carnival souvenirs. With almost no local caches available for us, a trip south to Auckland was going to be the only way to achieve our goal.
Due to other commitments, Sat 6th was going to be the only day all three of us could make it and we hoped the weather would be kind, as it was for us on our last adventure. Unfortunately, not this time though, as despite the forecast being for mostly dry, with the possibility of a shower, we ended up caching in near constant rain till it cleared later in the afternoon.
On the way around the smile series, this one with good FPs was definitely on the list. At GZ, I soon noticed something a bit unusual and sure enough, it was a classic G2 hide. Gets an FP from me too, as I really like this type of hide. TFTC

Days when quality means more than quantity .... Cache Carnival 2019 and Favorites points which does the job! Nice hide. Well placed. Thanks a lot!

Well what a great Christmas New Years we have had so far it all started off in Friendly Feilding have Christmas lunch with the family then next day Boxing day off to Danniverke for a weeks holiday together so special first holiday with the Grandson hes only 7 months old, then we didn't know what or where to go next so ended up going to Napier and then across the Napier Taupo road got a cache and a trackable, not easy to stop all the time with a large caravan on the back. We finally got to Taupo and said where to now so we kept going and then we got a text message some plans next week had been transferred to the end of January so we could go away for an extra week. We ended up in Walton Gold course for two nights to finish off the Kiwi and another puzzle series got 46 caches in total some were traditionals as well, got that sorted and then headed off today decided we would do the Route 66 trail and Smilie trail so we ended up in Orewa so we are here for a few nights. We set off this morning and completed the Route 66 series had some lunch about 1.30pm then we decided to get some more traditionals in the area and then slowly head off to get some smilie series caches, but we cant leave he odd traditional behind so we stopped by to grab this cache, took a few minutes then yay got it. lid is missing. great views and scenery around here, if it wasn't for the caches in the area we would of never got to appreciate this area. Visiting my son for the weekend, and I dragged him along to a 'get as many as possible today' outing... We had great fun and fitted in a walk as well as some driving. Nice day to be out and about! TFTC!!
A day of caching adventures with Riser5 and tikitour to get our planetary pursuit souvenirs.

Found with Remaker13. while out doing the smile series.....nice clever hide !!! Thanks for the cache.....
Out and about today with Keylev to pick up the smile series we had solved a while ago and a few traditionals along the way This was the 36th find of the day and knowing is was a G2 cache the camo would be good. Thanks to the hint I spotted something which fitted the bill, and sure enough it was the cache. TFTC!
Time. and muggles defeated me on this one. Number of people in vehicles who stopped right next to me whilst I was searching for this one. Next time, perhaps, if its still there? cheers Roger.
#3717. After spending a few days in Auckland on a work trip, I had the opportunity today to grab a few geocaches before flying back south in the late afternoon. I am working on the DGSC challenge and one task in the bulk find elective is to locate 50 or more caches in a day on eight occasions. So decided the Dalmations power trail would be worth a visit. Managed to find 74 caches in just over 6 hours which was more than I expected to find and only 2 DNF's. Then back to fight the serious traffic congestion as people flocked to Adele's concert at Mt Smart stadium. This took a few minutes to find. Should have read the description plus a few logs but instead blundered around for a while checking all the wrong spots. Eventually "spottered" the correct spot. Was a bit surprised that the logs were tucked in there and wondered how they avoid falling out. Anyway signed the log and replaced as found. And the logs stayed where I put them! Thanks for hiding the cache here. Clever placement. Favourite from me as well.
This one was on the list of caches I wanted to do before leaving NZ again. Another great G-2 cache

Up in the area for a meeting this arvo from the sunny headquarters of N Z, aka Blenheim and the South Island. With a grey and dreary outlook, and spells of unwelcome rain, it was still a good chance to find a few caches in an area that I spent 5 weeks in last year and found many caches. But there are always more to find!
Meeting up with fellow South Island cacher G H 6 7 1 0 we headed out in the hire car and headed along towards Riverhead then a lazy 'loop' back towards Albany and a 'few' caches as we went along. Started up with the recently placed Riverhead power trail of 5 trads and an unknown followed by a tasting of 11 other trads.
Thanks to all the C O s whose caches we found, all were enjoyed and my decent shoes have been shown what mud is after a few months of dry terrain.
This cache is an F P magnet, can see why now. With all that traffic rushing by it's nice to stop and search. Took a few minutes, then G H spotted the hide and log was extracted, signed and replaced. Another F P from me to keep it ticking along.

Rolled up with the Westie crew, Jag50, Jard and Rustynz. Jard and Rustynz had found it previously ,so to humour them we spent a few minutes pretending to look in the wrong place before zooming in on the real hide. Very clever cammo.
While out doing the smile series we could not just drive by and not get some trads. So stopped here with Urbangypsy, Jard, and Rustynz, and began the hunt. What appeared to be an obvious spot was not, and so we quickly focussed in on the other object. Clever cache and hide. A favorite from us
Great cache ! Can see why it has 53 Favourites !
Was in area , have often wanted to get this , and today was the day !
Walked around a bit before I noticed it ! Excellent !
Unfortunately the lid has gone , and as it faces down I am worried log paper will drop out .... Stuffed some leaves up the cache to try and temporarily hold it in ....So the tin really needs replacing ....
Thanks Glyn ! It is another goodie !

Another cool cache surprised it has no favs. We r giving it one. Nice effort gone into cache. 3 day road trip from Hawkes bay to Auckland and back. Great few days to grab a number of caches. Tftc
I was out today with Pazzabella to pick up the Smile series and we were passing by this one so it would have been silly not to grab it. Another clever G2 cache, fp given
A quick diversion from the smile series while we're in the area. More ingenius work g-2!
After the short drive to the area I wandered to GZ where after a bit of a search I found the well constructed cache at GL - the CO might want to check on it but I've placed it in a fairly good place.
We picked this cache due to its high number of favorites to mark our 100th consecutive day finding caches - most of those days were G-2 hides also so that made this even more appropriate.

A long way from home today... We are targeting several puzzle solves to put toward our current license challenge. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We drove past this earlier as someone was sitting in a car nearby... On return, we were able to park right next to ground zone. We got out to examine the area and were amazed to find this cunning, cheeky hide. One of my absolute favourites for the day... TFTC.

Nice quick find, and a lovely way to start a nice sunny morning, after the heavy rain of the previous day & night. Very well-done cammo - loved it, but spotted immediately. Had a friendly local stop and ask if everything was alright? I smiled my biggest , friendliest smile and told her all was well.

Out and about in the area to put yellow smiles on the map in the SMILE series and wandered past this one while in the area. GPSr was out but GAR soon had the cache in hand. Love the camo. Another great hide by G-2's Bodyguard - thanks for placing. Fav pt. Did a pile of caches today and didn't make the notes I should have - think this cache had a full log though. If you're passing may pay to check. GAR stood in a nasty piece of glass bottle just near the cache - lucky the soles on his jandals were thick enough! Have removed offending item.
Heading north to silverdale on a warm sunny day great disguise this one. Thank you
A very clever hide and certainly a test of my stealth skill as the highway very busy with holiday traffic, had to wait for a moment between passing cars to put back cache!

I made a start looking in all the wrong places. Finally found it. Phew. As always, great camo. Gets a favourite.
On an extreme caching mission day trip from the mighty 'Tron with 11hpgh11, HKCB & JDM99, hoping to complete three Auckland power trails/puzzle series (Dalmations, Route 66 & 30 smilies) & find as many extra caches as we could along the way. We logged as any of the possible combinations of H, H, K & J, as we kept forgetting which combo we'd agreed on.
Parking & the find here were all straight-forward, thanks to the good keen eye of a young teen who went straight to the cache (except he'll be smug for hours now lol). A fav from us too. Good fun caching as a crew trying to avoid the intermittent heavy rain with a definite absence of muggles around today to question our madness. TFTC.

Out and about with Kiwis69, 11HPG11, and JDM99 on the sole purpose of tackling all 3 power trails in one day, and any else in between. To maximise as much daylight as possible it meant a real early start, so was on our way to Auckland at 3.30am, and the first cache located just before 5.30am. After many puppies, a couple of piggies, a few smilies, some epic field puzzles, and a trip down route 66, 16 hours of caching, 250ish caches and numerous kilometres we achieved our goal about 9.30pm. A great day, with some great company. Thanks to everyone for all the placements, we signed the logs with some combination of HHJK, for some reason the order kept changing.
HPG had already found this one, so she was looking forward to sitting back and laughing at us struggling to locate this cache. Luck was on our side thou and we had it within minutes. Another great hide, thanks Glyn

First cache of a full on day planned with UncleSamNZ, Agazo and myself.
Looked in the wrong spots first before expanding the search as per Cretti's log. Agazo was holding an object saying this 'looks out of place but I don't see the cache...'. It was indeed the cache which UncleSam and I pointed out was right under his hand .
Thanks for the cache and a favourite point!
