Had a good look for this one but came up empty handed... did spot a screw head in the tree in about the right location. If the cache was meant to be magnetically attached to it then I think the cache is missing...
Quick find while exploring Inverleigh this morning. Cache 101 for Team DuckNomNom. TFTC
Bunadoorian suggested a cache in this lovely town to break our trip back to Melbourne. W stopped and soon Bunadoorian had the cache in hand. TFTC and for bringing us here - VKC1SR.
Grub62 and I were on a return trip from Portland and a break from driving was required and this cache fitted the bill admirably. TFTC.
Passing through Inverleigh on my way to Port Fairy for the Folk Festival. Quick, easy find.
Thanks for the history if the churches, very interesting.

Our last stop for the evening. A first to find, a dnf and a couple of more quick and easy finds on the way home. Pulled over here to touch base with home camp and advise them of our return time and whilst doing so took the opportunity to male a quick find here. TFTC.
found this today after a dissapointing DNF at the war memorial cache eairler in the day
Nice easy find on the way home from a wet and windy weekend exploring the Warnambool area on Melbourne Cup weekend 22 while most of the state was Flooding.

After logging a DNF back in January it turned out that the cache was indeed missing. I decided to stop in here today and see if I could could turn that frown into a smiley. There were a few muggles around but I spent the time taking photos. There are some amazing trees in the churchyard, one of them even has a memorial to the person that planted it. Definitely worth a look.
The cache was in the exact spot where I figured it would be. I was careful with the camo and made sure I put it back exactly as I found it after I’d signed the log. The cache and log are in great condition. TFTC

Found an attachment piece in the tree at head height but no cache, not even on the ground. Might be wrong but worth a check on this one. Thanks anyway.
With perfect weather forecast, we took a day trip to Geelong for the Festivus event this evening, and decided to travel from Beaufort via Inverleigh for a change. This turned out to be a much better route for us than coming in via Ballarat and Bannockburn - we don't know why we hadn't discovered this way before. Inverleigh is such a lovely place to stop and explore too - thanks to caching. We found this cache quickly, exactly where it should have been. TFTC VKC1SR and for the historical information about the churches.
Couldn't find anything around head height then as we were about to give up it was spotted on the ground. SL and replaced where we felt it belonged.
Passing through today and stopped to stretch the legs. A nice quick find here. Thanks for placing.
A cold Sunday afternoon and not a great deal to do, so we jumped in the Geomobile with the Geodogs and headed out to a neck of the woods we haven't done much Geocaching in but have often visited. Inverleigh is a town that most people would only see one street of unless they live there. This beautiful Bluestone Church is on the main highway through town. It was a lovely spot to find a cache and Mrs Dromaniax took some photos for her latest assignment. The cache is in excellent condition and we enjoyed seeing the way in which the cache was camoed. Thank you for this cache VKC1SR.
Cold day stopped for a soup and coffee missed the church service but enjoyed the church

Finally talked my husband into stopping to find a cache! Beautiful church easy find. Had to keep an eye out for the muggle children on school break
What a beautiful stone church. Due to such a busy road I used the hint rather than hang around too long during school holidays, kids on skateboards keep appearing!
Inverleigh has always just been a quick dunny stop for us, so nice to grab a cache and learn a bit of local history too. Those wacky Anglican larrikins! Thanks for the thoughtful camo and also the detailed hint. It's a right pain getting close to a cache and not finding it.
New container in place!!
Please make sure is secure and place some camouflage in front.

Found where I believe it to have been, a large screw in the tree inn a suitable place, but no attached cache. Helpful local warned us about local police man who likes to hide behind trees so we will go slowly!
An interesting hide in a spot that is not my usual and immediate goto. Clever approach to the hide. Enjoyed the history and the church precinct....TFTC
My only DNF for the day. Despite a good look in the tree and surrounds I came up empty handed. Next time...
ctoria Day 8: Peterborough - Warrnambool - Melbourne
A day spent driving through the sweltering heat of the Victorian Plains, but not even recond highs was going to stop me from claiming as many caches as possible within comfortable walking distance from the car. We drove to the end of the Great Ocean Road into the town of Warrnambool for some quick views, caches and food before crossing back the plains to get back to Melbourne before flying off to Tassie tomorrow. A fairly substantial number of caches were claimed, even given the heat, so I’m happy I managed to make the best out of a difficult day.
This is the specific log for this cache:
Quick little stop in this little town for a couple of caches. Hopped the fence to the tree to stake my smiley here. Nice church, though very quiet today. TFTC!

Located this one, number two on a visit to Australia with kiwitrecker1. Took a look at the nearby St Paul’s soon after. Cache in great condition, thanks!
Well the hint didn't seem to easy for me. Then the school bell went, back to the car for me. Will try again another day
Pit stop on way back to Geelong from lake corrangamite. I’ve always really liked inverleigh. I’ll have to come back here soon and cache properly and get some of the more complicated ones here. For now, thanks for the nice easy grab
Thank heavens !!
A good cache to find with plenty of shade
It was way to hot to be standing around in the sun today !!
I read the history before leaving the geomobile,
and soon had the cache in paw
Back to the air conditioning

Found on our drive back to Melb at the end of a great week in the area. Had to explain to my son what a film cannister was and what it used to contain. We used to have so many of these things back in the pre-digital days. A great little church with interesting stonework. Thanks for the cache, great to stop and break our trip up.
The great 'Get out of Melbourne on the Melbourne Cup Weekend' getaway begins. We are heading to Warrnambool for a family reunion and to get away from the stupid horse race.
One last cache as we continue our journey westward; geoP just can't resist a cache so close to where we parked.

Returning to Camperdown after a weekend in Melbourne...I grabbed some caches along the way. I spent a couple of hours in Inverleigh...drove to the last few caches. Drove to the wrong Church but walked back to the right one and soon had the cache. Tftc
Found cache while down visiting family from Newcastle. Brother and I went out for a day of caching. Tried to find this one last time we were visiting back in 2011. TFTC

Used the detailed hint as it was Sunday. Great idea but log is soaked and we aren't carrying spares. Tftc
Heading home from Melbourne we were diverted off the Ring Rd and down the Hammo hwy due traffic congestion. Oh well, we had better stop at Inverleigh to do some of the awesome caches we had read about. We ended up spending around 2hrs here.
Really liked the fir tree here in the Church grounds. Such a beautiful tree. TFTC, all in good order
