On a walk with a client today, collecting some caches along the way. Fairly quick find with the hint. As mentioned before, the log is very mouldy and wet, but I managed to sign itTFTC
As I hadn't explored this track before, and with a suspicion that there might be some photographable fungi on the wetter parts of this track, I decided that today was the day for a little expedition to the area. I decided to cycle it (bottom to top and back), although the track was a little bouncier in places than I'd hoped (judders, rather than full-blown obstacles). Anyway, this was a nice straightforward find, although the cache was not as well-sealed as it might once have been. I managed to reposition the rubber seal, and clip things down firmly, but unfortunately the damp log book is a little the worse for wetness. Thanks for the cache, Team Bubble Tea.
Found, not signed. Nice to have some incentives along the walk! Thanks for placing it here!
Found the caches at the other end of the track in Oct 2020. Came back today for a peaceful afternoon walk right through the whole track and back. Nice weather, a few wallabies, very few people. Cache was half full of water and log book mouldy. Managed to sign the other piece of soggy paper. Turned the cache on its side hoping it will drain out. Thanks Team Bubble Tea
We found it! Super wet, couldn’t sign the new log either… still a lovely bike ride with the crew.
Today we had decided on the Kaoota Track walk to pick up all the local caches and hopefully get FTF as well. However, it was more about the walk and the exercise in an area we had not visited before. As we were leaving the car we spotted that an FTF had been claimed so the walk it was! Very enjoyable area with a number of paddy melons to entertain us.
A bit of a frustrating section of the walk as the cache was so close but because of the deviation to maintain the contour the distance was more than double the straight line possibility.
As indicated in other logs the cache container and the log were very wet so, being prepared we put in a new bag with a new log. Hope they will remain dry.

Beautiful location with nice view of Allen’s Riv and nice hiding spot. Please accept this as my log as I’m sorry to say the cache is in a very poor state and needs maintenance. It seemed to be properly sealed but when opened contained about an inch of water with the log and contents saturated. TFTC, hope it can get some TLC soon.
out and about with 2 Lil Rafas caching in the Kaoota Tramway track, this was on the track,TFTC TNLN log dry. a cool but dry morning.
Out came the sun and after the 3.2km walk from Kaoota end it was time to turn around and return to the car. Thanks Team Bubble Tea for the cache.

Very wet and hard to sign. We really enjoyed the walk and the cache was easy to find. Tftc
Hi Team Bubble Tea,
TFTC,
A nice bike ride today down the track all way home in Margate. I was doing the track again today after not finding a GA on wednesday and didn't see this one then.
Thanks again,

Nice easy walk just outside of Hobart. Had the trail completely to ourselves. Great cache
Yesterday we headed to Kaoota, but found ourselves without enough time on our hands to do the Tramway track. We did have a short wander along the first 100m or so though, which was enough for us to know we had to come back and do the whole thing!
We were otherwise occupied for most of today, but when our afternoon rolled around we found we had a few hours free. With our previous visit still in mind, we decided we'd have a go at walking the track. The clouds we rolling in as we set off, but fortunately we managed to escape with only a couple of patches of light drizzle as we made our way along the track.
We had a lovely time wandering from the carpark to the GZ, taking in the wonderful landscape along the way. What a great variety of ferns, mosses, toadstools and other flora! About an hour or so after setting out, we eventually found ourselves at the GZ.
It was definitely a great spot to put the cache, with a bit of a view across the valley to add to the sights present elsewhere along the track! The cache was easily located, but unfortunately the log was quite damp. It was still just signable though, although it could probably use a replacement.
Eventually we made it back to our vehicle, just as darkness was beginning to set in. It was definitely quite the adventure.
Thanks very much for bringing us to this wonderful spot!

We had two main targets for today: to walk up Chimney Pot Hill finding caches along the way; and to walk a 3km section of the Kaoota Tramway Trail to look for this and other caches. We were not confident of achieving our targets because of the very hot weather conditions and the smokey atmosphere from the extensive bushfires to the south.
We tackled the Tramway in the middle of the day and were very relieved to find that nearly all the track was in dappled shade which protected us from the intense sun. After walking nearly 3km (finding a number of other caches along the way) we arrived at this cache. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Team Bubble Tea for an enjoyable caching experience. Then it was the nearly 3km walk back to the car.

After a walk up Chimney Pot Hill Mr W and Mr T decided to do the Kaoota Tramway Track. Mr W had never been on the track and was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained it was. He may return with the grandsons for a bike ride with them. Thanks for hiding a cache to find along the way. A great walk. TFTC
Found on a caching trip to Hobart - enjoyed the walk in this area while doing other caches here.
An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Had a beautiful 2 hour walk along the tramway after work.
The temperature was a perfect 20 degrees for the walk.
The tram was perfect, with quite a few wallabies hopping off to the side of the track and no sign of any long thin things
TFTC and bringing me to this lovely track

I found this while out for a ride with some fellow cachers, a great day out riding down the trail and a quick find by Lil Rafa as I was looking in the wrong place.
Thanks for the cache.

This cache has taunted me for quite a while but today I was put out of my misery and finally logged a find on this cache.
It all started a couple of weeks ago in a discussion with EeePees after visiting the Tramway Hill cache and reserve. A small group showed interest, so we ended up with five teams (six riders) taking to the old tram track to find this cache (and a few surprises on the way). It was a great down hill outing followed by a BBQ at Dru Point. A bit of car shuffling was needed to ensure only a downhill ride but that all worked out nicely.
Thanks Team Bubble Tea for another one of your caches in an interesting place. Thanks to EeePees for setting up the day. Totally enjoyable

Thanks for the cache Team Bubble Tea. Visiting the Kaoota Tramway has been on my 'to do' list for a long time, but as dogs are not permitted on the track due to the wildlife presence in the area, I have not been able to visit. Today I told the GeoGSP I did still love him, but asked him if he would stay at home and look after the house whilst I went for a little bike ride. He agreed to this as I handed over a large frozen bone. I met up with some fellow geocachers at Burnaby drive, we loaded some bikes up, arranged a car shuffle, and then we all headed to the start of the track. This is a great track and we had a great ride. We all hopped off our bikes at GZ and soon had this cache in hand. Our names were added to the blank log sheet and the cache returned to it's hiding place. Cheers.
Hello Team Bubble Tea thank you for the cache.
I have been thinking about this cache of yours for many years and keep on putting it off.
A few years ago EeePees and got talking about how good it would be to ride down on our mountain bikes. After not been able to go on the first trip I wasn't going to miss out on this one. We meet up in Burnby drive and left a couple of cars there for the latter shuffle. Once the bikes were secured we drove up to the start of the track and made our way down. Today the track was lovely and dry but a little rough if you got off the smoother line. On the way we stopped to get a couple of GCA caches and this one of yours. After getting back to the bottom and the cars some of us had to drive back up to retrieve the cars left at the top. From there we all regrouped at Dru Point for a BBQ.
Had a great ride with EeePees, GooseandEgg, StainlessSteelRat x2 and LilFaffa what else can I say but when your in such great company the day is going to be fantastic.
It's not that often I give favourites but I'm going to give your cache one because I love old tramways and for the ride.

This has been our closest to home unfound cache for quite some while, and along with another close one, has been bugging me for some time. The ducks and planets haven't ever properly aligned and so they remained unfound.
Until today!
I half hatched a plan to ride down this track with JnrEP today but didn't head off early enough in the morning, and we were otherwise occupied. As the weather hadn't really turned, I said we should have done the ride, but it's too late now and the rain will set in soon.
However, JnrEP said no, lets do it!
We grabbed a quick lunch and then headed up the hill where we were dropped off in the descending cloud and increasing dwizzle! Were we mad? Probably! I'm sure our driver thought so.
Apart from the precipitation, and the cold, we very much enjoyed the ride; first time on the track for me, but JnrEP had walked down it several years ago with Cubs.
Once at GZ, a fairly quick find of a partly exposed cache, but all was otherwise well. Too cold and wet to write much in the logbook, so just signed today, and replaced with a bit more camo as per the hint.
We then continued down and ended up riding down into in Margate and our reward was a hot chocolate at Banjos. Then home for a bath!
Thanks Team Bubble Tea for placing this cache, and in doing so, providing us with a most enjoyable adventure (despite the weather).
We're already looking forward to this trip again, with some good friends (fellow geocachers) who were not able to join us today due to short notice. I reckon they were probably dryer and warmer than us today though.
Cheers, EPs.

Had a really enjoyable bike ride along here this morning and grabbed this cache on the way. TFTC
Found on first ride along this nice track! Stopped to check on how my distance along was going with app... And looked and suspected I'd found it before I even checked my coords! I was right!
Wow, can't believe that I'm the first this year to find this cache. Seems like there are not so many geocachers around. But anyway it was a nice tour with my bike this afternoon and I enjoyed my time exploring the surrounding.

This was somewhere that we had been meaning to explore, and this was the weekend when DD needed Global Corporate Challenge steps, so we set off from the Margate end and walked through to Kaoota Rd, collecting this cache and the wp1 info for Black Gold en route. It was another sunny winter day, with just the odd shower - as soon as we deemed it wet enough and put our coats on, the rain stopped! This was a pleasant walk and we would have liked to know more about the area, with the info signs tending to just whet our appetite. TNLN. TFTC - another great one Team Bubble Tea!
Did the bike ride along the entire track and return. There are some muddy sections between Kaoota and Thomsons Creek Bridge which makes it interesting on the bike.
Found cache quickly. TNLN.
Thanks.

We went on a walk along the Kaoota Tramway track with friends Jenny and Dave and it was Dave who pounced on this one to bring the container down for us to write the log and retrieve the TBs. TFTC Team Bubble Tea
After a BBQ at mum and dad's, a nice coffee and a few tim-tams, the HotCrossBoy, UncleHotCrossRabbit and I went for a quick down hill run from Kaoota. As only the young and sprightly Rabbit was keen to the whole loop, we parked one car at the bottom of the hill and all made our way to the top. HotCrossBoy was concerned that there might be some uphill exertion involved, and he was here under false pretenses. Happily there was minimal effort required. While the Rabbit put on appropriate bike gear, lights and so forth, HotCrossBoy found the required info for a nearby multi (which we will have to come back for). The ride was pretty smooth; minimal mud, lots of debris, good views, chilly breeze and little pedaling. Lagging behind I quickly found the cache, signed log but took/left nothing. We stopped and had a read of the various info signs, before a swift descent to the road. Only saw one car on the sealed road. The rabbit took off to complete his circuit; we went home for left over pizza. Thanks for a cache in a fine location!
Stopped by to drop off two TB's on a family MTB ride up and back along the track and on the way passed two very hot geocachers, the thongs gave them away. Lol
Fantastic walk on a beautiful sunny day, not much mud at all coming from Kaoota end of track. Took Maggi the Labrador to continue her journey. TFTC
Cleaned seal on container, moved 50cm to a drier location, replaced water absorbent crystals with fresh ones, dried out container.
Good to go! (or to get)

The cache was half full of water when found today, looks like it needs a new container.
Found today after nice walk along Kaoota Tramway track. The cache was half full of water, thankfully the log book survived inside the snaplock bag. Drained the water out but it needs a new container I think..

Great Find on a day out riding/walking with son! Very boggy in places but much fun! Lovely bush sounds all around. Container a little wet inside, we drained it but press-sealed bag with silica gel had saved notebook. Didnt swap any trinkets or drop anything in this time. Thanks!
really good track but a long one I went with my dad and my 2 cousins and uncle and my cousin found it
Out with my geo family. What a lovely track.. besides doing the slip and slid most of the way in the mud had a great time.
Grabbed a nice pair of headphones and left a couple of fun trinkets.
Thanks for bringing us to this lovely area.

Out with Dad and some family. Found it a bit hard to find but that's because dad wouldn't share his gps.
I think I really need my own but I'm only 10... well maybe someday..
Thanks for hiding this so I could go find it with dad.

What a beautiful morning after a week of rainy patches. With the kids soccer cancelled because of soggie grounds, a good chance to do a ride one of the jnr geo's and I have been wanting to do for a while. Dropped of at Kaoota, it was a great ride down the road and onto the track. The rain had certainly made the muddy patches more to experience. With both of us racing down, slashing in the mud and bouncing on the rocks, we were soon at GZ. Soon the cache was in hand (returned) and off we went to meet up with the geomobile in Margate.
Over the next hour of riding, bit of pushing and a fall (me!), we were in Margate only to find a couple of hitchhikers sucking a rider or two!!! What a great day, tracks and cache. Thanks TBT 4TC SLTNLN

Nice walk, muddy in spots. Started at Koota end. One day I may have to walk the whole way. Cache was an easy find once at GZ. Can't believe it has been so long since it was last found.
First time in the area on one of our regular walks. The track was quite wet. Found the cache easily but needed the hint. TNLN. Thanks for the cache (it is still in good shape after the rains).
Some friends and I rode through here a few months ago, as part of a loop - Margate - Snug Tiers - Kaoota - Margate.
It was very muddy then, so this time I though I would ride up from the chook farm on the basis that it was drier at that end.
Well, it may have been a little, but it was still pretty wet, so I sloshed through, wishing I'd brought the MTB instead of the hybrid.
Still, GZ was lovely, with views across to the Wellington Range.
I tried looking without the hint and went straight to the right spot, but didn't look hard enough.
The hint confirmed I was looking in the right place, so I looked harder and there it was.
Thanks for the ride on a lovely day.

Nice walk on a wintery day. There's a song that describes the way I got to and left the cache - "Slip Slid'n Away!" Left the car park at 1300hrs and signed the log at 1330hrs. As the cache was jammed in its hide, I drew blood during its extraction. Took some pics and left GZ at 1400hrs arriving back at the cachemobile at 1425hrs. Even though the sign says not to take dogs into the area; a couple and their flea bag passed by as I was on my way out. Tut Tut!!
TFTC, an easy and great walk; Cheers OldSaint.
TFTC, an easy and great walk; Cheers OldSaint.
Decided to ride our bikes to get this one. Dewey and Louie weren't too keen on the idea but soon got into the thrill of ploughing through the mud as we slipped and slid our way out and back. TFTC
After the morning commitments were completed we decided to go for this cache, convinced that it would already have been found before we got there. The fresh bicycle tracks and foot prints in the mud along the way had us even more sure that Reborn Cyclist or Budgie had already beaten us to the cache. We arrived at GZ at 4pm and were pleasantly surprised to find a clean log book. We left a set of ear buds and signed the log. The walk was a pleasant stroll which took us 30 minutes in and 45 minutes back out. Thanks TBT for bringing us to this very interesting area.
