Came up to Moyhu to have a beautiful lunch at the Moyhu Hotel. Took awhile to find this little cache but we did find it in the end. Nice little train. Well hidden cache. The CO might need to come out and check on this cache very soon as the log-book is full and the container just has some scraps of paper in the bottom. SL TFTC. Thanks for putting a cache at this location for us to come and find. Now off to the Hotel for a well earned lunch, then back to Myrrhee in the arvo. What a beautiful sunny warm arfernoon for geocaching out this way up & down The King Valley.

We arrived in Melbourne on a Saturday and knowing that the wineries in King Valley werent open on weekdays we came straight here via Glen Rowan (look out for the huge bump on that road). We came through Moyhu and at the time I swore there would be a cache here. Finally with some time and some wines in the fridge we were finally able to stop in.Song: CommunicationArtist: INXSAlbum: Welcome to Wherever You Aretftc

On a road trip to the north of the State and currently camping at Edi Cutting. After exploring south of the campground yesterday, today we headed north to Wangaratta to explore and stopped in here on the return journey back to camp to see if we could locate this cache. After searching high and low without luck it was it was Mr. Pooky who said maybe its ............................ and with that he soon had the cache in hand. TF the history / information, and placing the cache for us to find on our travels. A favourite from us. SL.

Just me and Crack'n'LeeLee out grabbing a few caches, including this one, before dinner and drinks tonight with the girls. LeeLee was on fire at this cache what could have taken forever only took a few seconds..We then took turns posing at GZ.

05-Nov-23
Needed the hint. Then fought off the ants to find a soggy mess of log. Added a new sheet but this one needs a bit of TLC

We found this one ungodly fast considering it was like a needle in a haystack, but my partner saw it like the hawk he is. Must say moyhu is such a cute little place, didn't know it was even here.

26-Aug-23
Could not get this one

06-Jul-23
Clever hide! It's quite a wet one today, so we're sitting in the little train replica writing this and trying to reroll the very moist log page no mini seal bags with us at the moment to add a little extra protection!

20-Apr-23
After spending a few days exploring the mountain ranges north of Mansfield it was time to get back to Melbourne. With the current "find 100 caches in 1 month" souvenir challenge it was also time to start ramping up the caching finds! Before heading home from the Edi Cutting campground I decided to explore this stretch of road on a glorious autumn morning.

Moyhu was as far north as I had planned to go. Before turning around I checked out this interesting attraction on the piece of railway.
Some caching experience and the good hint ensured a relatively easy find here.
Thanks, Chewinprickles.

30-Mar-23
Another find along this old historical railway line TFTC

Todays planned day trip for Craig's Hut to make our #2000 find was finally here! Super early start this morning lead to an awesome day exploring both Mt Buller and Mt Stirling some tracks certainly tested the old rig out, but we made it home in once piece. Today brought back lots of fond memories of visiting this area with my granddad many years ago.

First one for the morning, we had a DNF here last year. This time around it was a pretty quick find once I broadened my search area.

TFTC!

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.

I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.

Thank you for this Traditional cache chewinprickles

Two TASSIES out and about for ten weeks. Two days to go before the big swim back home. Today being a rare spring day (of late) we are on a first expedition into King Valley wine territory and ...... wotdoyaknow ! there's a great string of caches to grab here and there as we go ! This was our first for the day. Thinking laterally literally got us there in the end. TFTC chewinprickles.

Well I was now supposed to be on my 6 week adventure up to Outback Queensland but with my knee failing me I just had to turn back around and head home.
So after 3 weeks of rest at home I was getting cabin fever so for the last week I just had to get out so Western Victoria beckoned so I could grab a few LGA’s and UBD Country VIC maps which would not involve a lot of walking.
So after finishing of Western Victoria I’m now heading to North Eastern Victoria to do the same.
This will be a 4 day whirl wind tour of a lot of Victoria.
After finding a couple of Hume and Hovell monuments earlier that were my target this morning I could now continue on with the maps.
Travelling towards Myrtleford I had time to find a few more along the way.
After checking in quiet a few spots I stood back reassessed the area and eventually spotted the sneaky cache.

Thanks chewinpickles TFTC

22-May-22
Very well done this would be one of the best ones I’ve come across so far for today TFTC

After a few camping trips with his muggle brother Mr Dromaniax suggested that they have another camp trip and invite their muggle father along for the ride. After leaving Ballarat around 10.30, we headed towards Smoko Campground in the High Country.

After arriving after dark at the campground and setting up the tent and cooking dinner in the rain, we were up early and headed into Bright for breakfast. After breakfast, we headed off towards the goal of the day, the Webcam cache at the top of Mt Buller.

This was a fun stop, and after looking in all the wrong places, we finally found the cache. The cache is in great condition.

Thank you for this cache chewinprickles.

17-Apr-22
Camping caching with Flaggys and MooFlagg. We had a great time doing this mini trail and racing to find the caches. This one gave us a little bit of grief, but with a 5 people looking one of us spotted it. Nice hide. Fp awarded my favourite location and hide on the trail. Tftc.

27-Mar-22
Fairly easy find, except for the ants nest underneath. Thanks chewinprickles for another interesting location to explore.

19-Jan-22
We have finally moved on from the Mega Wangaratta and our target is to do the caches around Glenrowan and the NKH series. This one was right where we thought that it would be.

16-Jan-22
We are attending the Wang Mega, no surprise there. Late start as we are heading further North on Monday, just booking in and caches around town today. We do have a few puzzles solved fortunately but lots not solved. Lots of reaching into holes, fortunately I bought the gloves (but no ladder). TFTC.

I was passing through here on my way to Paradise when I saw some markets on, so had to stop and get some locally grown snacks. The gas a lovely Hawaiian theme going here with lais and beach boys. I got to look inside the prison cell too. Looking in that made me wonder if there was a cache there, so I looked it up. Turned out there wasn't but there was one across the road. So I put my nectarines and cucumber in the car and went on search of the cache. Something in the description made me think I knew what I was looking for and so I had it found quite quickly. Phew! Cool little carriage!

14-Jan-22
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.

I have joined forces with TeamAstro to attend the Wangaratta Mega. Found on our return to Wangaratta after visiting Edi to visit another geocacher who was camping there

On a 2 week break so travelling around Victoria and finding some caches on route..
Started out in Castlemaine and then heading to Hepburn Springs and Daylesford area.
Next was onto Heathcote and now we are staying in Milawa.

Weather has been pretty bad for caching in the last 4 days with lots continuous heavy rain..

Spent the last couple of days exploring Beechworth and then the Milawa to Oxley Rail Trail and
then along the King Valley.

Headed over to Dal Zotto for lunch so grabbed a few on this trail on the way to Milawa

Thanks for the hide and the cache
Log book has been signed and returned

This is find 7 for today for Bunadoorian and I. We loved this little town. Thank you for bringing us here and for the series about this railway line. TFTC chewinprickles

28-Oct-21
Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather.

After a couple of days in Beechworth we headed over to stay at Edi Cutting to camp, specifically to attack the Ned Kelly Geoart before the hordes descend. On our way back to camp we collected a couple in the SoS series as we passed, too tired for any more today.
TFTC Chewin, we made this harder than necessary.

30-Sep-21
Keeping the streak alive with day 17. Even in the rain, out for a drive and a quick cache. This one would not have been spotted easily without the hint and caching experience. With those two things it was rather simple. Glad there was shelter to sign the log out of the rain. Nice one and TFTC.

Now that was a tricky little one... I was so sure it was going to be a different sort of hide
It's good to keep me on my toes

20-Jun-21
This one was very tricky. We were about to give up when we eventually found it. Very well camouflaged. TFTC.

19-Jun-21
Found (again) under torchlight (again) this time with the company of catnap777 on our way home from a bit of midwinter fun in a dinghy on Lake William Hovell. Razz

On my first visit here with locus cache it took forever to find this cheeky hide, so this time I knew exactly where to find it. Twisted
It was also my fav in the series so this one gets my favourite point. [^]

TFTC Chewinprickles, my apologies for failing to log my visits on your excellent series the first time I was here. Red Face

19-Jun-21
On our way back home from a wonderful day spent exploring the King Valley and all of it's delights. Dalerious had done this series long ago, but had forgotten to log them, so we decided to re-visit them as I did not have them all. It was night by the time we signed the first log, and we could not get over the amount of cars on the road. It truly was like Bourke Street. Thank you for keeping this great series alive. Caches found in good condition.

21-May-21
My, my this is a tricky little cache. Wished I had kids with me as they would not look out of place climbing all over this cute train. In the end I think a bit of pot luck was on our side! Thanks for the cache chewinprickles.

21-May-21
I love it when I ask for help for something I don’t know (I’m truly hopeless at directions... funny for a geocacher, I know. ). But following the hint - when teamed with directional advice/knowledge - ‘twas an easy find. So cute the train is!

Geohubby & myself were having a search around when geoson says casually “found it”!

An extended easter weekend camping trip, with a few caches along the way.

Day 12 on a multi location camping trip we have now relocated to Edi cutting and OzHockeyChick and I are venturing in to Wangaratta to gather some GeoArt.

Famous last words - just one more cache... we spotted this train yesterday as we drove into camp and thought it looked like a good cache location. Sure enough it was! Wasn’t the type of hide we were expecting but found it soon enough.

Thanks howjen567 for the cache.

Thanks for the cache. Was in town so took the chance to find some caches in the area as it has been a while. Cache all good. Thanks

23-Nov-19
A few weeks ago I looked at my tally and thought I would struggle to crack 1000 caches for the year. But a consolidated effort over the last few weeks and more than I expected on the recent work trip numbers suddenly things looked positive - had a few calendar holes to fill and some potential trips to get the last 22 required. However when the offer was made to visit Milawa for lunch and the suggestion of taking two cars so that I could go geocaching afterwards was made I jumped at the opportunity. So after morning tea at Brown Brothers and lunch at the cheese factory I parted ways with the rest of the family (I took the geohound) and started on the caches around town. 23 caches (and 1 DNF) later the magic number was reached and now the challenge is to beat last years total.
This would prove to be cache 1000 for the day and a nice one it was (probably would have given a favourite anyway). Parked around the corner and read the hint as I strolled over - all became clear as I rounded the bend. Searched in the obvious spots for the normal container but that was not to be. Read a couple of logs and then had an idea what to look for - was correct and the cache was then quickly located. Log signed and returned as found.
