Difficult to get out there now, so I am freeing it up in case someone else wants to take over.

08-Nov-16
Been a long while with no action and poor history.

24-Sep-16
This cache is long gone after the floods that came through here. The CO has been contacted, but is unable to do any maintenance.

24-Sep-16
Working on a new container while setting up the workshop in a new premises.

07-Aug-16
DNF Water was pouring out of the dam today after all the rain that fell a few days ago. looks like this cache has washed away or been buried by rock fall.(maybe i just didn't look hard enough in the right place) nice spot to explore. great history lesson.

15-Jul-16
I am really disappointed with this one. Got my 2WD work ute to within 300 metres of GZ and then hiked in to GZ. A beautiful and scenic spot but thats where it all ends. I spent 45 mins searching every crevice in site for no luck. Maybe I should'nt have had my hopes up as the last find was 9 months ago, a shame because it is a great spot.

15-Jul-16
Can the C.O check on/replace this cache, thanx.

13-Jun-16
There are a few trees down but none blocking greggs road I think that the cache may have been flushed out during those recent storms we've had.
But was an adventure driving there Smile

04-Oct-15
Parked off Bago road and cycled to the cache spot, not recommended for anyone soft.

Cache was in good condition.

13-Sep-15
After taking a wrong turn and walking uphill 1km we realised we were circling the dam instead of making for the wall. Was a beautiful walk nonetheless - lots of birds and a couple of snakes to keep us on our toes. Finally retraced our steps and located the right path. Fantastic place for a cache - thanks for planting it - I'd never heard of this place before!
Found cache with no trouble. TNLN TTFC

08-Sep-15
I was going back through old caches I'd had stored in a list on a now-superseded phone and came across this one. When I updated it noticed it had been archived in Nov 2016 and showing it as unfound (by me). Hang on I thought - I got this one during a Tuesday walking group hike around Bago and the Blue Creek dam. I obviously hadn't logged it at the time, there being no phone signal, and promptly forgot. So I found the date of our hike, 8 Sep 15 and, better late than never, logging it now on 24 Nov 16. Thanks Wombat-1 and I'm sorry this one has walked the plank or maybe washed away. TFTC

25-Jul-15
Very nice hide thanks for the cache only log now was found with Lonely RA 21/11/11

05-Jul-15
WE FOUND IT YAY

01-Jun-15
The road in was quite wet after the rain and we weren't sure what we were in for so we parked 400m away and walked to the very scenic spot at the end. Wandered around looking for the cache when we spotted it sitting out in the open. The logbook was very wet despite the container being closed properly and we didn't have a hope of drying it out in the dampness today so we put a piece of waterproof paper in a plastic bag in the cache and rehid it close by. TFTC Wombat-1, an informative cache description that makes a great cache even better.

20-Apr-15
Found it by mistake and now I'm hooked

07-Mar-15
What a place!!! Amazing spot. TFTC!!

16-Dec-14
Was in the area today with a little time to spare so thought I'd have a look at the Dam.
An exciting drive in, ended up stopping about 400m from GZ as bush was closing in. A very pleasant stroll to the dam and thanks to a handy rope an easy climb to top.
I clambered back down and soon had cache in hand. Sorry but didn't have the facility to dry it out properly but did what I could. Log is a little damp but still serviceable.
Quite an impressive structure off the beaten track, but certainly not holding much water at present.
Thanks for the hunt and bringing me to this great location

18-Oct-14
Teamdfl and I are heading south to the Port Macquarie region for a 4 day week-end of caching. Cool
Today was day for caching. My aim is to find 25 different caches which have different Terrain / Difficulty ratings. Big Grin
I believe I have made it but there are a couple of challenge caches included in the list. [^]
I did find a couple of 'spares' just in case. Razz
We got the car most of the way and had to walk the last 650m. What a location? Big Grin
Thanks for the cache.

18-Oct-14
Day two of the trip and today was all about Brother Colin. He is attempting to find 25 caches with different D/T combinations. I am just along to steer the geomobile Wink

We set off towards GZ in the trusty little lancer Surprised

Brother Colin did a fair bit of walking along the way to help guide the little lancer on the best part of the track. Most of it was quite alright, just a few ruts and waterbars.

Eventually the track became too much for the little lancer and we abandoned it on the side of the track. Only a short walk to GZ and what a surprise. [^] Neither of us had read the cache page so we were not expecting the road block in front of us. Razz

A quick hunt and the cache was located. Back to the car for a 47 point turn. Brother Colin once again acting as a pilot on the way back to the road. Big Grin

Another one found by the boys on their 4wd trek. Watch out for snakes not one for jacko* lol

06-Oct-13
The track from the highway is now very eroded and I wouldn't suggest driving any thing but a 4WD too far. There are gutters now that could eat a normal car.
During my maintenance trip we did hack out about 300m of lantana and fallen trees that were making the trek impassable.
There are now a couple of drop-offs which could strand and damage a smaller 4WD or an SUV. There is also quite a bit of road gone on the side of a pipe directing water under the road at a small creek crossing where there is almost a 90 degree corner at the bottom. Take it wide otherwise you will be rolling about 3 meters to the bottom.

06-Oct-13
Dropped in with SparkArmSU and DropBear_1 for their first find and after lurking in the background until they had it in hand I carried out some maintenance.
The container and contents is now dry and the log book has been replaced.
The container is now properly sealed.

06-Oct-13
First find! Trekked in with Wombat-1 and DropBear_1. Amazing engineering in the middle of nowhere! And 75 years old! Big TFTC! Big Grin

06-Oct-13
Interesting location, while with SparkArmSU and Wambat-1 waiting in background until we found cache. Like that he history behind the dam was interesting reading make for a great fun find for a first timer. TFTC.

18-Aug-13
Lovely spot and a great fun 4wd adventure. We found the cache but it was just about ruined, it was drenched inside. Tftc

15-May-13
Cache is full of water and log is starting to bio degrade, could not sign log as it was in such a state.

12-May-13
Found with BRIGHTSPARK88 nice walk in the wilderness. Unfortunately the crewman didn't like the water holes!

12-May-13
Found with Cadet Kelly. Had to hike in as the crewman wasn't tuna make it up the first hill, had a lovely walk. Awesome little spot TFTC, Deffs a hidden gem. Will need maintenance as it is full of water to the point that the log is starting to biodegrade.

25-Apr-13
Interesting spot, thanks for the information and sending us here.

21-Mar-13
Very wet after the recent rains...needs a bit of attention!

21-Mar-13
Excellent historical site! Unfortunately after the recent rains in the wauchope area, the cache has been inundated and in need of some TLC! Excellent little 4x4 drive to get up here tho! TFTC

27-Oct-12
Great spot. Good day to take the 4WD out, bit interesting turning around in the car. Thanks for bringing is here

19-Oct-12
Out caching today with Di and Bill of the Di Morgan team. We found a series of caches that these locals had not yet done and along the way we saw some beautiful scenery as we traversed the hill country west of Port Macquarie. The weather again was perfect which made the caching all the more pleasant. An interesting drive towards gz. As the tracked narrowed even further we decided to go the rest of the way on foot. Enjoyed the cache location and this one gets a fav point.
Thanks to Wombat-1.

19-Oct-12
Out caching with Liz and Bruce in this scenic area. This was one of the caches we were hoping to find today.
Drove a short way in as the bushes closed in onto the new car. Pleasant walk to the cache. Have never been in this area before, always good for the locals to get to know their area.
Thanks to Wombat-1

14-Aug-12
Found it with Wombat-1 and replaced the wet logg book..

14-Aug-12
Thanks to Wombat-2 I was able to get out this afternoon.
I sat on a rock at the end of the road while Wombat-2 scrambled across the sluceway and up the other side in quickly fading light to find the cache and replace the log-book.
Everything is ready to go again...

BTW, there are bitey things and lantana in the area, I once tripped and grabbed hold of a branch to steady myself; left leg not capable of supporting me. Overnight my right hand swelled up and it is still quite painful, I am not sure whether I crushed a spider or other insect which inflicted the damage or it might have been a thorn from something. So far there are no blood infection tracks, but everyone please be careful.

18-Jul-12
I will get back out to this location as soon as I can.
I have a new notebook ready to go.
Unfortunately I have a torn calf muscle and the weather and wind would make it dangerous at the moment, so it could be a week or so before I can get in here.

Hard drive, hard find in the dark.
TFTC.
Smile

17-Jul-12
The drive in, in the dark tested my skills in the 4wd. The hunt once at GZ tested my night caching skills. Persistence paid off and we were duly rewarded with a wet log book to sign. Found on a caching day with Jamie2750 while visiting from Sydney. TFTC

17-Jul-12
The contents are very wet and the log book almost unsignable. May need a little TLC from the owner.

07-Jun-12
1818 GAFF3 Cycled and walked up from the car; didn't want to get bogged AGAIN!
New head light and bike light were working well.
Short but arduous hunt when arrived at the dam.
Log damp, with a small amount of water in the container. Tried to dry it out as best as possible, but my shirt was pretty sweaty as it was. Just able to write on the paper.
Took: dud pen, and left a 4-colour pen; also a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Thru: coins and shirt
Then an easier cycle back to the car, but not game enough to turn around, so had to back up.
TFTC Wombat-1 (one more of the harder ones off the list.)

25-Apr-12
DNF GAFF1, then#3. Okay, I may be back with the bike some day. Didn't want to get the Mazda Metro bogged without some backup! Off to get another cache, or two tonight.

06-Apr-12
Found with my Geowife after trying a few different approaches to the GZ. We went to one point that was roughly 250
Mtr's away and above the GZ when we decided there must be a better way, back to few different locations with no luck.
It looked like we will have to do some bush bashing walking through the scrub, so we thought we might head for the bar and come back latter with boots and long pants.
On the way out we went down a track that we had tried earlier just because it looked like fun, only to find we weren't far From the GZ and getting closer by the minute. After enduring that you should have listened to me look from my Geowife I also had to suffer the laughter when she grabbed the goods while I was still checking the hint.
Thanks for a great afternoon this one is definitely going to my favorites.

as sandcrawler got into gear we rounded the last bend and saw a great sight...geez we haven't been here in ages, I hold geohusband murmur.

nice spot for a bushwalk. lovely and peaceful and a nice location on a scorcher of a day that we were having today.

nice hide, great spot. the geoboys headed to the top and back to take in the serenity! Big Grin

31-Jul-11
We found this one while taking our geoteen for a driving lesson. After completing No Bull we decided that our L plater could have a go at some 4 wheel driving he did a fantastic job. I would never have forund such a stunning spot if it wasn't for geo caching, we have so meany hidden beauties in our district and this is the game that gets us there. If you're intending on doing this one in a 2 wheel car please be aware that there are some large wheel rutts and also some high spots that would be very difficult for you to pass without damaging your car.
The view from GZ and on the cat walk is unbelievable we must go back and do this one in summer. TFTC took matches and left compas.

17-Jun-11
Headed out today with Phatt to check on the cache due to the heavy rains of late, but made sure that he found it before I went anywhere near it.

It is still exactly where it was left and also dry inside.

12-Apr-11
Finally found this time. Spent a few hours previously trying to locate the dam. Travelled every road in Bago forest except the correct one. Worthj the trouble though - the scenery is wonderful

10-Apr-11
Another of those spots you would never come to except for geocaching, but well worth the visit. My GPS was saying 19 to 20 meters, and would not say anything less! Thanks to some reading and re-reading of the clue the cache was soon in hand. Very interesting spot Wombat1. TNLN SL. Cheers from the Browngang.

05-Apr-11
Wow! who would have thought that this dam was here? I would never have found it by myself so thanks for bringing me to this place. I had no GPS signal this morning but the clue was good enough to get me to GZ after a bit of a search. Thanks for the cache Wombat-1.

31-Mar-11
TFTC wombat-1 and team gnome. Absolutely fabulous spot to come for some sight and sound therapy. Geofriend and I drove in to the circle of stones and then walked of our lunch til we arrived at GZ. I then found the cache using a cache reasoning process (CRP) not to be confused with cardio pulmonary resucitation (CPR) which we could have needed as the dam is so breathtaking! SL, TN, LN. However did take a couple of happy snaps that I will add to this log soon.

23-Mar-11
Awesome spot!!! Couldn't find the cache though.
Will be back a bit earlier in the day next time.

20-Mar-11
Congrats pprass on the FTF. I trust you also took the Joker...

Yes the GPS out here can he a little how's-your-father. I had to average 8 different readings from Team_Gnome's and my GPS over a period of a couple of hours to get what I did. Sad
We know that steep terrain can upset a gps and it all depends on what satellites are available and at what angle. Of course in this location, it is not much... I trust the hint was clear enough and led you to the location without a problem.

Found at 4.35pm GAFF1. After a big loop showing some lady visitors from Melbourne the North Shore up to Pt Plomer and then onto Crescent Head, we headed into the bush for some real adventure,
The track seemed reasonable and we were able to drive along it quite comfortably, but suddenly it was realised that there were fresh tyre marks on the track! Was this another cacher? When we arrived within 55 metres of GZ we found a group of men just hanging around their 4wd ute looking quite sheepish. We asked them whether we could continue and they seemed to know a lot about this place and said yes - right up to the wall.
Our group of ladies then suddenly started to form all sorts of theories as to why they were here and I even had to check out a piece of plastic down the gully to see if there was a dead body in it!
A weird GPS phenomenon occurred while we were searching and everything was 8 metres from GZ. I even tried to get better co-ords, but that then showed 9 metres from GZ!
Thanks Wombat-1 with Team_Gnome - fantastic history and a great adventure. Took Compass TB.

12/03/11 This was a billion star overnight stay I was with Wombat1 on that day it was a very good hike in & a lot of wild life.
We camped the night against the rock wall turn around bay you may still see our rock fire pit with no fire.
This spot is very secluded & a must see I have hiked these hills for some time now & if you are into hiking there are an immence amount of fire tails to hike.
I recomend going to the comm's tower at the top of the rollover you can see Port macquarie from here & back to Long Flat.
I left Heading East! TB here I think it fitted in well with the theme I have left the FTF item as I was there on the day & would be beter fitting for the first Geohiker to find it.
P.S If you hike in have a look at the tree location S 31* 30.657 E 152* 42.777 just off the road to your left. Cool
Happy Hunting Smile
