Cache 2039 Hmmm a bonus day off what should I do? Go caching of course so I decided it was time to head to Wyndham and clean up any unfounded caches and avenge a bunch of DNFs, I had avoided this Wherigo last time I came through but it was time to clear it off my board today. Quick find at GZ, cache is in good condition T4TW
Today is a big day: drive to Invercargill to pick up my mate to attend the Mega - and grab a few caches and Waymarks on the way. And a few more on the way back to Dunedin. Loved the location and the building next door. Thanks for the adventure.
Its not the fishing season at the moment, but I am staying at a fishing lodge, so I guess its alright to fish these three rivers around Wyndham.I now know a lot more about Wyndhams geography than I did yesterday. TFTC and the wherigo - most interesting. It took me two attempts to load the cartridge onto my phone but once loaded it behaved just fine. Interesting navigating without maps and only me in the car but I managed to find the three rivers and catch my bag of fish.
I had a bit of spare time today so, needless to say, I completed this great Wherigo.I just had a bit of trouble with the final as I reckon the fence has been replaced from the original or I have shrunk a lot. I finally found the cache on the right hand side just above the middle rail.Cheers for the cache, Stegan.
Learnt a lot about fishing from this cache. And what a perfect location for the final!
I have trouble downloading and retaining wherigos but this one was ok. The cache was easily found thanks to the last cacher. All good. Thanks
In the area for work. Saw Sullywolf had managed to get the container... nice! It'd slipped my mind to message the CO. All good here! Thanks for the WIG Stegan
TFTC stegan, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 8 today, making this find #3223

Enjoyed driving round with my family to find this one, luckily Dad is tall and Mum could give him a boost since the final had fallen out of reach. Dad replaced it so it is in reach and you can reach around. TFTC
Had no issues running through the WhereIGo, but unfortunately I can see, but not grab the container. Will send Stegan a message in the morning, I'm shattered.
We managed to fish our way through the Wherigo, and the cache was a fairly quick find, although it was more a case of around than over. TFTC
Phew that was a challenge. No map on the screen so just driving around almost blind trying to find the right roads. Then at gz struggled to see it. Ended up using phone to view the area to grab it. Always a relief to finish one of these without my phone saying not today thank you.
Enjoyed solving these caches - out today with Wombat and delighted to grab these caches before we go into lock down because of covid 19 travel restrictions.
Ach wherigos.. haven't got used to them yet. They seem to be slightly different each time. I did the rounds of the 3 Rivers in the rain (twice) before sorting the final. Luckily I had plenty of time as waiting for the library to open. Enjoyed the journey anyways, and the final find.. a fave from me tftw
Day 3 in Newzealand. Today we drove from Dunedin to Te Anau.
A very beautiful Country with lovely places. We were able to find nice Caches and See Lots of interesting places.

Heute folgt mit Heckenstürmer der zweite Transfertag von Dunedin nach Te Anau. Eine Recht grosse Strecke, bei der wir uns beim Fahren abwechselten. Aber dennoch konnten ein paar Dosen eingesammelt werden.
We are on our summer holiday, driving around the South Island finding a few geocaches as we go along. The weather was so awful in Invercargill we decided to head nrth to try to get away from the howling winds. This one stood out as one we should have a go at getting.
All was quiet in the town as we started, we soon found all three fish, stopping for a couple of traditionals along the way (with slight detours).
Then it was weigh in time, there was a chap at the pub having an early morning drink but other than him there was hardly anyone else around which made it easy to head to the final GZ.
More a case of reach around than reach over but GK soon had the cache in hand. Signed it and replaced it as we found it.
Thanks for setting this up (it still astounds me how they work, but work it did) and of course thank you for the smiley

**This was 1 of 22 caches that was found by me on the 6th of 19 days in New Zealand.**
**Which also was the 59th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**
It was an real fish weather during this competition. With an drizzle that followed me wherever I throw the hook.
Finding the final catch was the most difficult part. But after an while that little rascal was also caught.
*During 19 days I traveled from Christchurch to Auckland in an SUV, that i also slept in during most of the nights. 5.956 km of driving did it take to visit the 351 caches that I have marked as found in c:geo.*
*Earthcaches was my main focus during the stay. And I manage to visit 106 of them. So New Zealand is right now the only country where earthcaches are my most found cache type .*

Haven't done many of these so was pleasantly surprised that all went to plan. Goodness knows what the residents of Windham thought I was up to driving here driving there. Managed to get my first river trout. I didn't have any scales cause I caught & released, but she was a beauty. TFTW
*Still in place, yep - Stegan's a tall b*@@*r. All four of the southern Where I Go's are confirmed as in place and findable in good condition.*

Found 12 Feb 17 Local knowledge led me to turn a corner and I had one of those Wollah moments. Found the micro and SL. I caught my first fish in the Mataura while fishing with the familia down the long gravel road on the true left bank, a whooping 2lb9oz brown trout. Beginner's luck serves me well. Though not as big as the spiny rock lobster hanging mounted on the wall of the local tavern. That's a whooper cray fish. TFTC

Got started ok and got to first location. But despite being at 1m and wandering around it would not kick in. Fed up with tge south island wherigos and so abandoning them for the rest of our holiday. Off to Gore for a "large" cache.
I've had this wherigo in my sights during several trips up and down to Invercargill but never managed to find the time until today. The phone picked up the wherigo straight away which was a pleasant surprise because it usually takes three tries before it kicks in. This was fun to do and very well put together, I'm extremely happy to receive the trophy and bragging rights until its found again. TFTC # 12,011
On the road before 8 this morning to see how close I can get to my goal of 2000 by the end of the year.
Managed to catch all the fish required, with a few detours for some other smilies. Successfully weighed in and collected my "prize" soon after.
A great wherigo and worthy of a favourite.
Thanks for the smilie.

In a Jucy van on a tour of both islands and today’s leg is Queenstown to Curio Bay where we’re hoping to see some sea life.
Wyndham seemed like a good place to stop and this cache was the main attraction. Tsiolkovsky took charge of the cartridge which behaved very well and led us to GZ where we found the cache quickly with the help of the hint. TFTC

#14644. Didn't take too long to snag this hide. Interesting spot for the final. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on day 5 of our road trip to the Oamaru Geofest, taking the scenic route, of course. Today we are travelling from Invercargill to Dunedin, via the Catlins.
Good to find another southern wherigo and a very apt place for the final. Thanks for the hard work setting this cache up.

After a busy day in the area, we decided to finish with this one. Unfortunately, just like fishing, i don't have the patience. Didn't catch any fish today as sun was setting at first river. We shall do earlier in day next time.
Went fishing in the three rivers and caught a virtual fish in each. Went to the weigh in but a muggle was parked right in front of the gz. Parked up along the road where I could see him and had a bite to eat for lunch. Once he finally departed it was a quick find. Thanks for setting this up.
I have only ever caught one fish in a river, and it was in the Mataura - although a bit further north. Today I managed to catch three (virtual...) fish and take them to the weigh-in! The final co-ordinates took me to a likely location, but I was unable to locate anything to sign there. CO confirmed I was looking in the right place and nicely allowed me to log as a find. Hopefully it is a case of me being cache blind... Thanks for the wherigo - I did not expect to find one in Wyndham (or all the other great caches I found today)! This was cache #50 for NZ.
By the time we had found all the puzzles that we could in Wyndham there was still a little bit of daylight left, so we decided to go Fishing. Fired up our Wherigo machines and headed to the starting point. We certainly could have done with a bit of Local Knowledge when it came to finding the best way to get to each of these rivers. Ended up driving a long way around at one point, but then got back to where we wanted to be. After catching a virtual Trophy trout at each of the rivers we headed back to HQ for the weigh-in.
Got the co-ordinates for the final and had no problems landing that as well. Thanks, we really enjoyed this one. Adding a Favourite point.

Found with the little woman. She's the angler. We had no trouble finding the GZ or the cache. I reached for the cache and it was signed. TFTC
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. The Seagnoid is navigator and scribe, Zara and I have teamed up and Im cache logger. Its The Catlins to Bluff today, so lets get going!
The Seagnoid has this on his radar for this trip and he has the tecky stuff for it. Thankfully. Its around Wyndym we go for this Wherigo. It was fun. Cheers and gets a favourite from me.

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 9: Catlins to Bluff.
I have over a thousand caches in my GPS. No way we can do them all over these three weeks. So the main priority are the special ones - earth caches, rare types. Which is why we are here.
This is a great little wherigo! Most have travelled some of these roads about 4 times in the process caching Wyndham .
Bit of a design error in the wherigo - once the final coordinates are viewed they cannot be viewed again. I am thankful I save the game at each task. A better way is to save the coordinates into the inventory.
Loved it. gets a fav.

We always enjoy a wherigo cache and this one was a lot of fun. We eventually came up with some co-ords and with a bit of feeling around we soon 'hooked' ourselves the cache. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Once we had some co-ords in hand, they lead us to a most logical place. Initially we looked too high but a rethink and feel around soon had us smiling. Found with debsnz
Finally claimed prize! Had obviously not tried hard enough last time. Tried again in the wrong spot, after hint from CO with Mumander saying 'just how tall is this Stegan?'. Really there is no need for climbing. Note to self to not try the hardest possible place first!
Caught the fish, got to the weigh in but failed to find the cache! Oh no. Got all excited when I saw something small and out of place, it looked just like a bottle top - it was a bottle top! Had great fun fishing, once I realised I didn't have to find a way into the middle of the river!
This is our third wherigo and I do believe we're starting to work them out. Fun caching. Thanks.
Our first Wherigo on our own, took a bit of trial and error. Visited all the fishing spots (one twice because we liked it so much) and got back in time for weigh in, and got a prize. SL TFTW.

TFTC nice drive around. Had to do it twice as couldn't get the coords again once I exited the screen
TFTC back and forth several times till we figured how to fish and then lost the final coords first time...slightly fraustrating
We had a few hours to kill on short notice today in the area and thought that this would be the perfect time to try our first Whereigo which turned out to be a heap of fun. We had no problems catching the fish but the final tool a bit of tracking down, we certainly felt quite conspicuous finding it! Thanks Stegan, another awesome cache from your collection. TFTC [^]
My first Wherigo; my iPhone was no help at all but the Oregon was fine up to a point... thanks to the C.O for the speedy reply to my email. Good to find this.
Found with Kryshan. Enjoyed the trip around wyndham. Glad they brought a phone which was able to do these caches.
This took me to areas that were quite a surprise, never realised there was so much to Wyndham.
Thanks

A great fishing outing which resulted in second prize (stf). We had fun landing our 3 fish. Took trackable. TFTC
Wow cool cache and a FTF! My first Wherigo, and glad to know my Blackberry could handle it. I had tried the Tutorial cartridge over Xmas at home, but just couldn't get it to work. This one was a LOT easier! Giving me ideas for one myself! Had a bit of trouble at the end and needed to use my camera to help me locate it! Put in a FTF GC I picked up earlier this morning - just fitted
TFTC Stegan - you make great caches!
