As they have now re-opened Mitchell's Pass it is now too dangerous to have this cache here. So I am archiving the cache and taking the concept to a new cache. I wouldn't recommend anyone place a new cache here. when the road was closed and it was only for walkers it was fine.
Mitchell's Pass has re-open to vehicular traffic. Safety would be a big factor for this cache if it was active. This cache will need to be archived.
I am disabling this cache until I can move it. They are doing road works on Mitchell's Pass and it may not be available for quite a while.
Finally came back to find this one but encountered a barrier... See attached photo... Probably needs to be offline for a bit??

Well it has been some time since my DNF on this cache, but since pjmpjm and I were in the area I thought it was time to put this one to bed. Got to GZ and after a quick look pjmpjm spotted the tell tale item, he then mentioned to me a similar cache we had done previously and sure enough there it was.
I am sure that this was not there last time, well at least not visible, in any case duty done.
Thanks for the great location.

Just to let everyone know that I went and checked on the cache today. It is still there, just very sneaky . If you can't find it and want a hint, email me.
Well, we went out again to look for this, saw that the difficulty had been dropped to 3... Still no good for us.... Found a star scratched onto the wall... Found the guard rail more broken than last visit... But no cache. Upon coming home and paf it seems the rumour is that the cache may be gone?? Can co please do a cache check? Thanks!
Ok so we needed a little help from the CO to get this one... then when we got to GZ we still took a while to find this... (Geowife eventually found this while I was a good 3 meters away). Thank you wackydo and eaviate for this brilliant hide.

Have I ever mentioned before that I hate micros!
I did not expect to find it and did not, what I thought may have been the cache did not want to come apart so after spending 30 minutes I gave up.
Too good for the likes of me, beside I hate micros!
Nice spot though.

4th cache find for the day. Before looking for this one, I'd read a lot of the previous logs and was concerned that being a newbie to geocaching that we wouldn't find it at all. Got to GZ and was looking where i thought it might be but then double checked my coodinates and realised I was slightly off. Went to right spot and found it straight away. Definitely my favourite hide so far. Very cryptic. Thanks a lot!! If this is what a lot of caches are going to be like, I can't wait to get out there and find more! TFTC!! If was funny... My geowife was looking right at the cache before the penny dropped that it WAS the cache. Love it!
Found late in the afternoon. I was looking in the wrong area due to the GPSR for over an hour and was going to give up and go home as it started raining and was getting dark but Geoson would not give up. He really wanted his first difficulty 5.
After looking at a different spot for abot half an hour, he found it and I would have never got it. Thanks for a really challanging cache. Signed the log in the dark.

Found by bruwstera, Stampy & Blizzard. Well Blizzard actually stumbled across this one after sitting down at a likely place after 20mins of searching. The "Star" had us scratching our heads. TFTC.
We were here for a while and due to its 5 Star difficulty rating had to find.
We had it in hand eventually.
Sneaky hide.

OK, had to try this one... from the description it sounded just as sneaky as "The Eastern Come in Sucker" which took us a few attempts... and after spending about 30mins standing and looking and thinking and poking and prodding.... we came up with nothing - definitely need to come back to this one!!
We went to the spot and thought and looked and looked and decided to think some more.
Then on a second look there it was. Yes a 5 star.
It is a new log book in this cache. I was the first to sign.
Well done wackydo TFTC.

Took a little while to find this one... after figuring out the clue and walking backwards and forwards a bit eventually found what we were after. TFTC
we cased this one out over some hot chips and watched the entertaining end of the road at the bridge when a geo-decaled car showed up with the occupants looking down towards GZ past a GPS on the windscreen... A funny geo-chat ensued with me recommending an awesome cache we FTFĂ©d on Friday. Well they knew that cache pretty well; it was their cache Great old chat with Bagoogle1 too. With the skies threatening we all set off for GZ. Some theories on the cache came and went and so did some muggles, then Mrs Hunny Bunny earnt a star on the ground at Hollywood. What a find it was, a nice installation and concept. The cheeky retrospective cache name and it's hide quite an eye opener among other things so we all SLTNLN and returned the devious thing as it was found as the rain soon found us.
Well well well, you just never know who you come across while out geocaching... Fellow geocachers of course. Such a small world. Well Purple143 attemped this one by herself, while we chatted to thehunnybunnys. But Purple143 came back empty handed. Our Garmin didnt have the update for this cache, so we all headed out with iphones in hand. Lucky thehunnybunnys phone had reception as ours had dropped out. Once in GZ, we walked around scratching our heads for a minute or two, checking out the obvious hides. Before we knew it, Mrs Hunnybunny had it in her sights. Yep, got it she said. First one we've seen like this. Good stuff wackydo ! Thanx to thehunnybunny's too ! TFTC
What a star ! Found with Bagoogle1 and thehunnybunnys. All credit to thehunnybunnys. TFTC
We looked around, looked at it and thought no that cant be it and look looked around again. Finally cache in hand.
It is a five! star cache.

Caching never ceases to amaze me, couldn't find "Our Creek" with a difficulty level of 1 1/2, yet this cache with a difficulty level of 5 was located within a few minutes of looking!!
A great little hide which may be interesting for some.

My eldest was off school today, having to get 4 teeth out, so we decided to do a few caches prior to this. We came here before, the whole family, and missed this the first time. My brain was fixed on another nearby star. But today, we got it pretty quickly with a hint from the geohubby who had already found it. Momentarily we dropped part of the cache and it aws a mad scramble to find it in the grass, but then, once fixed, we were off again. TFTC
Went here with mum today on the way to the dentist. This was more fun than the next few hours. Found fairly quickly after a hint from dad. TFTC
What a difference a day makes - came back here this morning to look again for this one & this time spotted it in minutes. No idea how I missed that the first time! We were actually so quick this time that when we started walking back to the car, my youngest asked if we were giving up on finding the cache again. She'd been playing & hadn't noticed the find, opening, signing, photographing & replacing .
My first attempt agreed with the difficulty 5, as I missed it!
But, as I was about to get in my car I noticed a geocacher roaming wild in the bush! As he had already found it he agreed to help me.
When we returned to GZ the cache had been moved slightly but it was soon spotted. Thus making this a difficulty 1 cache!
TFTC.

I was looking forward to a search for this new '5' difficulty cache, because I had an idea of what it might be.
As it turned out on the day, because of the accurate published coordinates, I found myself looking right at it -- and feeling like a star!
I'd already found two other similar caches in the Sydney area, both using this same basic camo, so knew what to look for. The first one cost me a lot of time searching, and a couple of DNFs, so I learned my lesson the hard way.
But this is a clever hide in a nice location and I enjoyed the challenge. Is it a five or not? I agree with bikerbuddy -- when you can't find the geocache, it's a five!
Log scroll was nice and dry despite the rain. Hope it stays that way. TNLNSL.
Enjoy the wonderful Lennox Bridge and the other caches while you're in the area. I did!
And many thanks to wackydo for trying something new!

Cache maintenance conducted at 1030 Saturday 19th March 2011. The cache and log are dry and in good condition. The cache is placed correctly.
I returned on my own today to take a proper look for this one. Normally we need to find a cache within a couple of minutes, otherwise the kids get bored and stop looking, and that's what happened the other day. So today, with a rain jacket on, I set out in the pouring rain down the old road. I had a vague suspicion about something that seemed too obvious, and it was. I then thought about the clue and proceeded systematically, and within a minute or two I spotted something and I had the sucker in hand.
The log was dry, as stated by the owner's note, and I made sure I protected it with my body as I signed it.
As to the cache rating, I'm quite happy to accept a difficulty five rating for this cache, although I found another cache hidden exactly the same way within the last fortnight which was rated 2 and a half, and have recently found a difficulty five puzzle which took two weeks to decypher the coordinates. Whatever your opinion, I stand by what I said before. If you don't find it, it is a five difficulty no matter how easy someone else says it is.
I saw VK2GOM had been to the cache earlier than me today. We recently met at another cache. Sorry to miss you this time.
Thanks to wackydo for your efforts recently. I'm sure you want to hide a nice big ammo tin, now, as penance.

Found fairly quickly in between passing MAMIL's on road bikes. Butcher's Row you are not alone! We both thought this cache refreshes the logbooks other caches cannot reach. SL TFTC! VK2GOM - Rob & Jess
I always like an excuse to walk around this area, so I guess not finding the cache today gives me a wonderful excuse to come back yet again later.
There are at least 3 other great caches in this general area, it's becoming a nice little cache dense area for spending an afternoon.

FTF!!!! Found within a few minutes and a few minutes before Rainbow Spirit and Webguy caught me. Clever hide! The rating is a bit debatable. But still a nice idea. TFTC.
2:57pm
Wife and I drove down here and there was a car parked already, so we sat and had lunch, no rush. it was then that Rainbow Spirit turned up and decided, that's it, gotta get down there. Met Josh and RS just past the barrier, Josh had already done it and was on his way back.
After a chat, RS and we sauntered down to the general area of the cache. Noticed an engraving on the rock wall of a spider and some text.
Took a few minutes to turn it up. A nice hide.
Cheers

As stated by the others, this turned out to be a mini cachers meeting. As I arrived Josh was leaving, and the Webbies were having lunch nearby, so we all had a pow wow.
Josh had already found it, so the rest of us walked down to GZ, where I was fixated on where to look, but Webby soon had a smile on his dial, and produced the little blighter. I have seen two other hides like this in the Sydney NW area. Thanks wackydo, always a great hide from you.

About the rating ... Any cache you don't find is a difficult 5 rating. Any cache you do, is not.
