Sorry folks. I'm not living in Melbourne for the time being, though I still occasionally go down there so I'll see what I can do. Sadly if the cache has gone missing that will be the end of the nice camo it had.
Had a good look around today with no luck, it appears that the log book has been missing since September 2013 and with no finds since November 2013, maybe the CO needs to check on this one soon. Will put this one on my watchlist and see what happens. Great views from the gz all the same, it would be nice to be rewarded with a find. Oh well!
Were unable to locate today however did find a broken piece from a systema container clip.
Searched and searched but no luck on this one. As previous written, perhaps it needs revisiting by CO
Whilst the terrain was a bit too risky for the unreliable legs of suss, we enjoyed the area a lot. Kein Schnabeltier, but lots of jogging and cycling muggles enjoying the dampness after the rain.
Alas, no smilie either! Seeing as it has had a few DNF logs recently, it's probably time for the CO to check this guy out.

Didn't find this one. Looks like I'm the third in a row without finding so guessing it might be missing? Gave ita good look and guessing there's not many places to hide. Great location for a cache.
On this fine day I was out with PantherX, Burge and Erebus3R83 on a caching trip around Yarra Bend.
When in doubt. . . use bark! TFTC!

Found this cache with out having to search for it. I think the cache is not in its or correct hiding place. However once we signed the log on a piece of bark we attempted to replace the cache in a slightly better spot at gz. Tftc Tnln sl
Find 951 at 12:38. Today I was out with Sando33716, Burge and Erebus3R83 on a caching run around Yarra Bend. We had quite few caches on our list and some required a bit of walking to get to so we weren't sure how many we were going to find today. It turned out being a successful run as all up we logged 16 caches and only one DNF. This was cache number 10 on this run.
Well we didn't even need to search for this one! As we walked along the path it was right there sitting on the embankment. With no log book to sign, we took the cues from previous cachers and signed a piece of bark - so there's now two bark logs in the cache. We replaced the cache but went to a bit more effort to conceal it so that it at least isn't visible as you walk along the path, but it will need the CO to visit and perform maintenance as it's in a bad shape. Thanks for the cache, jezarocks!

Out on the bike doing a big loop of the eastern suburbs, arrived at the steps and remembered I hadn't come over here to get this one. My bike is a touring hybrid, so not quite right for this goat track. But I inched along okay. I found the box a bit further west than the GPSr told me to look, but in a suitable spot. Added "Click" to the bark. I'm not sure I covered it up too well. Hope you can get down and set this one up again. T4TC, jezarocks!
Nice hide and a good size. However all it contained was 3 balloons and a piece of bark that someone has used as an improvised logbook. TFTC. If I'm passing this way again will add a notepad

Well, the weekend is here again, time to head out with my geocaching running mate, sedgwickdave to find some caches and to attend the event for the final day of the 31 days of August challenge. Wow, what a fantastic day, despite it technically being winter still, spring has definitely sprung, with a beautiful 20+ degree day and not a cloud in the sky!!.
After completing the nearby "Arbonuts" challenge, we went for a walk up to the trig point and down to this one. Upon arriving at GZ, we were a little worried as a sistema container lid was found just off the path. soon after, the container, one of the clips and some balloons were found scattered around. We put it all back together again, using a piece of bark to write our log on. We are not sure where this cache should be, but have taken photos of where we have placed it and will send these to the CO. A new log book and maybe a pen will be needed.
Thanks to jezarocks for the cache. TNLN, signed a piece of Bark

Last cache found today and the container was found in one place and the lid a few meters further away. No log but using some bark and a good pen a log entry was made and left along with some balloons found near by. Hid cache where it was believe to be hidden and added some additional cover. CO should check on this as this one needs some attention. On approach to this one myself and Ahomburg took the direct approach which was steep but fun.

It was indeed a nice walk, but this cache is in need of some TLC. I found it exposed and not -quite- in the area noted by the hint. I'm not quite sure what the "camouflage" was supposed to be, either, so that may have gone missing (if it was something physically stuck on to the cache). Nevertheless, it made me go out of my way and made me discover a nice, heretofore unexplored part of the Yarra. Cheers!
Found this one today. I am not sure that this cache is in the condition that it was placed as there was no camouflage on the cache today. I found it, signed log and returned it to where I found it. It may be worth an owner cache.
Thanks for the cache jezarocks.

Great little hidden gem of a track. Have ridden it with the kids before, but they are mountain goats. Didn't spot a monotreme but maybe an Oobyar. TNLN TFTC
Decisions, decisions...which way to approach this cache. The plan for the day was to collect 3 Regular sized caches in Yarra Bend Park and then move on to this one to make it 4 for the day and 100 in total. I was leaning towards starting along Trail 1 but one the the caches in Yarra Bend Park changed all that. That particular cache was "Let's Play Pooh Sticks" and with that one I found myself parked in Fairfield Park. So decision made...I would approach this cache along Trail 4.
Once I had crossed the river on the footbridge and then found my way under it onto the trail to the cache, it was a pleasant stroll along beside the river. Eventually I arrived adjacent to GZ but the offset was suggesting it was at the top of the cliff. A quick check of the notes suggested that I didn't need to leave the trail so I put that down to the GPS accuracy range. I walked up and down the trail several times and then finally I saw it..,that old saying "If it had teeth it would have bitten you" was ringing loud in my ears.
Thanks Jezarocks for a nice cache in a deceptively quiet spot in Melbourne. If it wasn't for the low rumble of traffic on the Freeway, you would have been excused for thinking you were walking beside the Yarra somewhere up around Warburton.

went for a walk after work great down by the river cache has no log book nice easy find thanks
A nice place to visit, we enjoyed the walk and saw lots of parrots. The cache was in full view just beside the track with no visable hiding spot nearby so we replaced it 'somewhere bushy' at the correct co-ordinates. As previously noted, the log book needs replaced as it is missing. Thanks for taking us here.
Found by one half of Team Ladava on a rare day of solo caching while the better half was having a little maintenance done on her knee in the local hospital.
I was also attempting paperless caching with the new iphone work gave me, (I knew it would come in hand for something but don’t tell the Boss) so of course I didn’t read the cache notes in my first aborted attempt was from the road above.
Having read the notes, I headed for Option 1 and enjoyed a stroll along the path to gz where the container was soon in hand but I had to resort to making my mark on the bark as I didn’t have any paper with me.

On my way to the Victorian Cache of the Year 2012 event nearby and yep, gotta get a cache (or two) on the way.
Nice walk, quick find and improvised log. I couldn't write on the log so I used the bark instead.

There is no logbook inside the cache.
In addition I suspect it has suffered a deal of cache-creep because it was found some distance from the published coordinates and not in a spot that matched the clue.
When replacing the log, the CO might need to visit to re-position where the cache was intended to be.

Walked down the dusty path - starting near the pipe-bridge, just above the Yarra after parking on the road up top. There were quite a number of cyclists and cars on the main road, and still a fair number of bikes on the flat-track to the pipe-bridge, but what surprised me was that at least 1/2 dozen bikes also passed me while walking on the small rough and hilly trail to get to GZ.
Once at GZ (or where my GPS told me it was) it took some time to find the cache. I suspect that cache-creep has moved the cache some distance from where it was placed (my GPS said approx 11m away) and the spot where it was hidden did not match the clue at all. In addition there was no logbook so I took a photo instead.

I seem to park close to it. ( as the crow flies)
I walked the hard way down, finding small track until i got to the right one.

Walked down the steps to get on track and then headed along the river to GZ. Glad I wasn't riding my bike as there wasn't a lot of room before heading into the drink a long way below. Found the cache easily enough, although my GPS said it was 8m back along the track. Placed it back in position and headed back only to find 2 bikers heading towards me. Fortunately they stopped so we didn't have to debate who was going to end up in the drink as we passed on the narrow track.

After diverting from a horde of walkers along the main trail, I enjoyed a stroll along the path to this peaceful spot. It was a picturesque part of the river with the sound of water flowing from the nearby outlet. Thanks to jezarocks for the cache.
Finally came back to do this one I originally spent the day (not well planned )cris crossing the yarra by foot, I saw this one and didn't want to cross again because home was on the other side of the river and it was a decent walk home still. This time I knew exactly which side and where to go. Quick find even though my GPS died before I found it. (thanks for a 'U' cache to go towards the alphabet challenge). TFTC
GPS coordinates were roughly 5 meters out. High cycle muggle day! Had cache quick in hand. TNLN

I sure am glad to have this one found, all those child way points have been flashing at me as I drive past to Tafe each week, but its always dark, today I am on holidays ans I rode my bike along the track to find this one. Thankd for the cache.
Found sitting on the path in clear view. Have re-hidden in nearby location - photo attached. Needs urgent maintenance so it doesn't get muggled again.
Having parked just 70 metres away I thought this would be easy but I couldn't find my way in. A quick hop and a skip over a couple of small fences and we were on the right path. Tftc
Thanks for placing your Snailbiter cache jeza, it took me a while to find as I was checking all the wrong bushes. It was a nice and quiet spot, however the sun had almost set when I found the cache so it was a bit hard to see the surrounds.

French Toast and coffee in bed for brekky, home-made gifts, sunshine... add a bike ride and a few caches and you've got a pretty good Father's Day.
With a few hours of daylight to play with before dinner, I figured I had enough time to chase clues for a couple more of the CCT multis.
Time to head back toward home... But not before I check out another trail I've been meaning to check out.
When the meter ticked to zero, I thought "This could be a long search", and plonked the bike down, only to find that I was face to face with the container. What luck!
Ah, I've seen this cache design a couple of times before. Cheers.

A stroll by the Yarra River is always a present way to spend a late afternoon with spring just around the corner. After a previous assault on the nearby peak traffic, this treasure was located as expected and well presented. Our excursion did involved meeting with the same motor bike rider 3 times in the allocated retrieval period. Only to be young and to test the curves of the boulevard one more time on a new ride.
A great day to wander about for this cache before meeting friends to cycle the boulevard. Inexplicably I decided to go cross country to save time and eventually found myself on top of the cache. Literally on top of the cache at the top of a 10-20m near vertical slope with no safe way to get access to the path below.
So maybe the longer way had its advantages. I chose discretion over valour and made my way safely to its hiding spot via the longer path. A great view on a sunny day!
Thanks and cheers!

After a DNF at 'Shake, rattle and Roll', it was good to find this one. Coordinates had me just a few metres off, but the hint was enough to make the find. The cache was sitting out a little too exposed so I tucked it in a little further to prevent accidental finds by Muggles.
I have ridden along the Boulevard many times, but have not been down this track before. How lucky are we to live in Melbourne! Thanks for the wonderful walk and for the cache, jezarocks.

Out for brunch, so after our big breakfast and piklets we decide to go for a walk and we picked up this geo. thank you
This is a semi-regular bike track for me, and its a great track - pity its not longer. A bit tricky for young kids or inexperience / nervous bikers.
# 743. Having had some delicious scones nearby we headed across the bridge and on to a couple of caches high on the banks of the river. We were on mountain bikes and I sure was not comfortable riding that narrow trail so close to a steep drop to the water. I walked quite a lot of the way. Got to GZ and spot-on coordinates and a good hint meant that I made a relatively quick find. Liked the lid of the container - obviously I haven't done one of your caches before! TFTC jezarocks

Loved the trail, will definitely come back for more walks. Only problem was all the mud to dodge (some cyclists had their legs covered in mud).
Enjoyed the trail although have to admit going for a bit of a bush bash The kookaburras made there presence heard. Will come back to the area for more walks and caches.
Klasse Park. DFDC!
Fantastic place for a walk and a cache, just a shame the rain was pouring down! The track was pretty slippery and muddy but dammit there was a cache to be had....... I will definitely come back here and continue my walk when the weather clears though. Thanks for bringing me here.
Walked in one way and out another. Would have liked to see the German geocoin. Third cache for the day in this area
Nice afternoon for a stroll by the river. Found this one easily with the co-ords given at about 4pm. No-one else was around. Liked the 'camo' paint job
Had a look at the German geocoin. Wow!
Maybe paint the blue clips on the box because they do stand out, even when hidden.
But, lovely spot and walk. Good choice for cache!

We'd ventured down this path after finding a cache nearby, and the kids were having a great time. We'd given them some new trekking poles and they were having great fun mis-using them but were also handy for avoiding the plentiful puddles along the path here. This is always a great stroll here and I've ridden and walked it many times in past years, but none recently.
I realised soon I didn't have the coords plugged into the GPSr so a quick call to cycling_guy and he kindly provided them. Once at GZ we looked around with no success so called again for the hint which didn't really narrow it down, and just as I was considering a descent to explore alpha female considered another area which soon revealed the cache. All the while the two beta's were busy playing with the outcrop of sandstone and collecting great little piles of fresh sand. Ah, nature and geology keeping the kids amused rather than DSi and Wii... that's a nice change!
Dropped off a german geocoin (appropriate for a german-named cache I though!) and headed back along the path for a well-earned coffee and hot chocolate (and just in time before it began pouring with rain again!)

First stopped at road side, saw that we couldn't access from there, however, had the chance to see a kookaboora (my first since i'm in Oz) and hear him laughing. Nice walk to GZ and easy find. Kayak Muggles coming from the river, so fast log TFTC,TNLN.

After finding nearby 'A Melbourne View' the geobeagles took me for a stroll along Access Trail 2, which was very picturesque on this lovely sunny day. Didn't need the hint because when I got to GZ the cache was quite obvious (to a cacher) as you could see it through the bushes. However, a muggle wouldn't notice it because they would be too busy trying to watch where they were walking or riding so they didn't fall down the river bank. Fortunately, there were no walkers or bike riders when I found the cache at 4:45pm and also none when I returned it to its hiding place. There were several when I started to walk back down the trail and also some kayakers who had climbed up the river bank to the path. So I had a lucky caching moment, which doesn't happen too often.
TNLN...SL, although a Danish Nomad GC and a fourth crocs orange TB had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks jezarocks for bringing me to this beautiful bit of bush by the Yarra.

Tricky walk to gz, especially when you have to move to the edge to allow cyclists past. Saw a tiger snake on the way but it was more interested in sunning itself. Cache seems to be obvious but muggles would walk/ride straight past it. The yarra almost looked like a nice place to be on a warm day! TFTC.
The area at GZ was beautiful and I had a lovely time walking the trail. The cache was bigger and less hidden that I thought it would have been. It was a very bold hide. TFTC
Second visit, and this time an easy find.. quite dark down here at this hour so was glad that both torches had full batteries.. I found this one whilst the Geo GF was looking in a different bush.. nice and traquil here.. Thanks Jezarocks for the cache and night time find.. #2227
Found at 3:24 PM GAFF5 in the company of maccamob. We took Access trail 2 which was just 100 metres from GZ, but after following the trail we actually walked about 350 metres to get to the cache. The track was quite muddy in places after the recent heavy rain and so was the river! No chance of seeing any weird egg laying mammals around here.
Thanks jezarocks

Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass, at 1520. The walk in along Access Trail 2 was quite pleasant despite the warm, humid conditions. Lovely views of the river, and only a small number of muggles on the trail. Found the cache right where the terrain rating suggested. Our thanks to jezarocks.
An enjoyable walk to GZ - Been wanting to walk this side of the track for some time now and today was the day. The hide was easily found. However well concealed with its camo. Took Access trail No. 2 and returned via the chandler route.
Thx jezarocks for a nice hide.

On my way to my nieces 3rd birthday and thought I would stop off at a few caches along the way. Nice track, bumped into a few bike riders and one guy telling me how he came off his bike and ended up in the yarra.
8.45pm While my nights are free at the moment I can get to cache for a couple of hours after work and enjoy the coolness of the night. On my way home now after enjoying my cache after work caching. Parked opposite the Royal Talbot where bought back memories of visiting my brother here. As usual I turned left instead of right and did it the hard way (should have read those notes jezarocks wrote.) Went alone the road and it was only 68 metres to go BUT is was all down hill. It had me worried the last 10metres when I was just hanging on for a while not knowing what was going to happen. All turned out OK and I took the easier/better option back which ended up right next to my car, DAH. There is always two ways to do things and I seem to choose the hard way more often than not. East find
Thanks for bringing me here jexarocks

3/01/12 6:47 PM Find #725 - I had just found another cache nearby (A Melbourne View) and this one appeared not too far away so off I went. Getting to the cache was challenging in getting a good pathway but this worked out well in that I discovered myself surrounded by lots of squawking Rainbow Lorikeets which I find fascinating as I have a pair who frequently visit my apartment balcony. I spent quite a bit of time here on the track watching and filming these birds in action before I searched for the cache which was well hidden and given the amount of rain we've had recently in good condition. SL TFTC and for bringing me here.
Enjoy walk toward the cache..
Quite few muggles ride their mountain bikes on this track..
Great spot.

Very pleasant walk to GZ this evening and a fairly quick find. Thanks to jezarocks for this one. Dropped off 2 TBs to continue their journey.
I detoured here on my cycle home and did manage to ride along some of the track but it's definitely not road-bike territory! It was very quiet and peaceful at this time of early evening and as I was signing the log book I resolved to get the kayak out soon and have a paddle along here - it's been too long.
Thanks to jezarocks for a great sized cache in a nice GZ.

I parked up high and progressed for a little while to find the best approach.
After a great walk dodging a couple of mountain bikers I was soon at a likely spot.
I thought for a minute that the hunt could be a needle in the haystack.
The good thing was I found a rather familiar looking lid fairly quickly.

Nearly broke my foot trying to get here. Listen to his advice and don't come in bike lol TFTC!
Found between rain showers; as I'm very busy today I wanted a quick find close to home and this was it! (I'm trying to beat my previous record for continuous caching days, so even just one keeps me in the running!)
Re the camouflage: lovely.
Few muggle problems -- a couple ran past, but none when I was at GZ and especially none while I had the cache out. The way it's supposed to be.
Thanks jezarocks for choosing a "regular" size cache for this hide, and ° for the notable camouflage. All in all, a good cache on a part of the main Yarra trail I'd not been on before.
