Found it! After a morning walk in Monarto and intending to spend the day in that area, a FTF hunt led me further east past Tailem Bend. After successfully grabbing the FTFs, I continued on to the endless Wandering Heroes series. Quick find here. TFTC!

Find # 14168I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC CPwanderer

One of a cluster of Wandering Heroes found today. This series is so huge that despite numerous previous nibbles, I doubt that Im even halfway there yet. All the history makes for interesting reading, sadly I am guessing that a lot of the theming on this oldest segment of the trail has been lost with maintenance over the years. A big thank you to the various COs who have contributed, and to those who have helped out with maintenance. Lets keep this series going.

TFTC CPwanderer for your cache Wandering Heroes... Flipper&Co that we found today.
WE are camped at the Football Oval for a few days exploring and caching around the area. Today the plan was to head along the Kulda Road finding Wandering Hero caches. We got to Martin Road and then detoured as the traffic along the road was getting a bit much for us. All caches found in good nick and pretty accurate co-ordinates.

Find count : 15770

Hi CPwanderer, I found Wandering Heroes... Flipper&Co today. I am on my way between the Goulburn Valley in Victoria to McLaren Vale in South Australia. Collecting a few smilies on the way.

Many thanks CPwanderer for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.

Borders are open (sorta) and Christmas is fast approaching so this can only mean one thing, WATBAC returns to SA to spend time with family and friends. This can also only mean one thing, that a caching day out with my geomum, Doctor Owl, was long overdue and very much needed (because apparently I am not great at finding time to go caching otherwise). So I sent a text to let Doctor Owl know that I was in town and Doctor Owl let me know that she had some maintenance to do on some of her Wandering Heroes caches. Perfect, there are a lot of them that I haven't done (in that I had previously only done about 10). So off we went...

Nice easy find and a nice change to have one on the side of the road that we were driving on to break up the crossing of the road. TFTC.

22-Dec-21
Owl's geodaughter WATBAC was in town and this means caching! Owl had maintenance to do and an ever-increasing Wandering Heroes cache list to find so this was an obvious choice. A hot day so they took it easy and didn't even come close to finishing. However, the maintenance was done, WATBAC did her 700th cache and a good day was had by all. A quick find in a good run. And a wave to Mrs Flipper, who Owl knows well.

14-Nov-21
Caching with the JAMS crew finding Wandering Heroes caches. We ended up finding over 300 and hiding 2 more. We replaced a lot of containers that were broken. We had a few showers of rain early which were getting us wet but they didn't last too long and it ended up being a nice day. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.

14-Nov-21

Out with the JAMS crew JJ52, Mogni, Allister W and sir_spectre, plus TallBikeStan and BratKat on this run. The logs where stamped as Mystery Randoms. The target's today where the Wander Heros trail ( as far as we could get ) plus any other caches in the towns or close to the road and the nearby Lab cache in Karoonda. We got slowed down by the rain till almost lunch. No wildlife sighted, not even a kanagroo. We found over 300 + caches, some of us had found some of them before but we are aligning all of our maps to the same finds. We replaced over 40 wandering heroes caches we found broken, most logbooks where dry and put in the new cache. Any logsbooks found close to full had a scroll added to the cache and all broken caches we removed and put in the bin. By the end of the day we had over a garage bag full of broken caches.

14-Nov-21
Another JAMS day was organised to tackle the Wandering Heroes trail (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre plus tallbikestan and BratKat). We started the day with rain and hail as we drove through the hills towards Tailem Bend but by the time we started the series we just had a couple of light showers and then for the rest of the day it was fine although we had strong cool winds. Surprised

That didn't stop us though, and we had a fun day finding around 300 caches plus an Adventure Lab in Karoonda. Cool We had come prepared with lots of spare containers and replaced a heap of broken containers and sometimes logbooks. We managed to get to Sandalwood where we called it a day, so now have plans to come back and completed the last of the series. Big Grin

This was my first unfound since my last visit out here in 2016 and by the end of the day I had 197 finds plus the Adventure Lab which I was pretty happy about. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache CPwanderer. Smile

20-Oct-20
This evening, I decided to make the drive to Tailem Bend to attend the CITO event, hosted by a few visiting Canberra Geocachers. The park was very clean by the end, and to justify my long drive, I then did a large loop of the *Wandering Heroes* geocaches. My morale was high, and I ended up finding a significant number, with some great creativity that had gone into some of those hides. A late night drive back home.

I made the drive to do a full *Wandering Heroes* loop that were the closest to Tailem Bend; That is, along Kulde Road as far as Zytheran's cache, and then returning back along Westbrook Road. I had completed a few miscellaneous heroes geocaches along here, in particular the new-ish ones when I had been in the area with others, and so tonight it was a matter of getting in the right frame of mind, and getting to work. This geocache was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks CPwanderer for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

How extraordinary to meet CPwanderer at a CPwanderer cache! Also met Carol from Gizmo's Gang (which was ironic too, as our first find today was one of hers). Nice to meet you both. It's extremely difficult not to shake hands upon greeting! At least with Bindi there's no problem shaking paws/hands....
Thank you for the pathtag, CP. We've found loads of CPwanderer caches in Monarto and always appreciate the handiwork, time and effort you put in to your creations.

Gee what an honour to have a cache or two placed to immortalise a cacher. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting Flipper&Co but they sound lovely.
Not having time to do much caching today we just went for a couple of convenient finds on our way through. One day we will return to do more of the many caches in the area but then we need the time to log them in the fashion they deserve. We love to hear the sound of our own keyboard, haha.
We know the CO is a snake magnet and we weren't sure if his caches may be also, so far this season we have only encountered 5 snakes and all from the safety and comfort of our car, phew. Not bad considering pretty much all our caching is in the bush,
No heroes here but we shall keep wandering. Thanks CPwanderer for placing this cache. Found it signed it and replaced it safe and sound as found TNLN

We spent last night in Meningie. A bit of the Tailem Bend power trail this morning and then some sightseeing on our way to Adelaide via Victor Harbour.

We are visiting from South Africa. . Landed in Sydney and are driving along the coast to Adelaide.

This cache needs a new bag as log is a bit damp. We didn't bring any spares today as we weren't sure how our 100 caches in a day attempt would go timewise and wanted to hustle along.

26-Mar-19
We had two hours of the afternoon left before sunset, and so we decided to search for a chunk of these Wandering Heroes caches before heading off to our campsite for the night. We enjoyed reading about the various geocachers, some of whose names we recognise as owners of caches we have found on our travels around Australia, and some whose names we recognise having seen them in log books around the country. Many thanks to the COs for having laid the trail and we hope we might be able to complete it on a future visit to Australia - maybe we might even get to meet some of the COs and the geocachers mentioned at the Clearwaters and St Arnaud 2019 Mega Events that we will be attending. This one was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

18-Mar-19
We were heading out of Palmer today and just picked out a couple of caches on our way to our next destination with ilook4geo.
Then we started on a trail of caches placed in honour of Wandering Heroes of the geocaching game. Although some of the cache containers and logs were on good condition, there were also quite a few where the containers were badly damaged and no longer are weather or vermin proof. Some logs also need to be replaced as they are either full, wet or mouldy.
However, each found log had two more names added and all was put back as it had been found. Thanks go to the CO for their part in this trail of caches.

On a spur of the moment trip to Tailem Bend to have a bit of caching fun.
Spent the day picking up caches in the area and surrounds and starting this great series which I will return one day to finish.
A great variety of cache containers were found in all sorts of ways.
Thanks CPwanderer TFTC.

11-Jan-19
I had planned a big few days of caching in SA so I left work on a Tuesday evening and hit the road from Melbourne. This was my third full day of caching and the Wandering Heroes caches (and assorted others nearby) were on my target list. It was a blisteringly hot day (felt hotter than the 39C recorded on my car!) and the dry and dusty conditions made it hard going at times. My first task having left where I was staying overnight in Murray Bridge was to head to the Geopets series. Once I was done there I headed on to the Wandering Heroes and others along that route. Many took me longer than expected with different containers, hide styles and some further off the road. In the end I had to adjust my expectation of finds for the day before I headed north to where I was staying overnight. Thanks to CPwanderer for this cache and to all COs for placing and maintaining this remarkable series. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

30-Dec-18
Having started the oz mega signal yester, I headed back down south with the intention of finishing it and making a start on the wandering heroes’ caches. It was perfect weather for a long day of caching, after a few caches the mojo was back and good progress was made. Stopping in Wellington for lunch (and more caches) it was off to Tailem Bend and a steady slog was made into the wandering heroes. Eventually, as the sun was setting it was time to call it a day and head home after an enjoyable day.

With the magical creatures souvenirs coming to an end soon, I decided I needed to grab a few more caches this weekend to knock most of them out. With a couple of events on not too far from some mostly untouched power trails, I made my way down to Murray Bridge, then spent the afternoon evening attacking the start of Wandering Heroes, as well as the start of the Popes series, along with a few others in between.

This was find number 23 of 72 for the day for me. TFTC CPwanderer!

After an interesting experience at the tailed bend football oval I was awake and thought I’d do some quick caching before I made my way home. Easy find TFTC

Day 5 of our SA jaunt had us targeting the Wandering Heroes series and anything else that took our fancy [^]. We camped last night at Tailem Bend and we are unsure how far todays travels will take us Smile

I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here Big Grin. I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area Smile. We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome Big Grin

A massive thanks here to CPwanderer for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!

jinta29 found your cache Wandering Heroes... Flipper&Co today. This is my find #7631 and find #42 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again CPwanderer for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

On a quick two to three day get away by myself. Heading over to Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge to pick up a few smiley face along the way collecting mostly Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids, Wherigos and 'Finds by hidden month' I need to fill - Plus any others that are nearby any of the rarer types I'm after in boosting my numbers a little.

Day 1: After leaving on Home on Sunday I was fortunate to have excellent weather on my side and a great run also traffic wise, which was great as it enabled me to get quite a lot of KM's done and caches done too while on my way to Tailem Bend for the night and get an early start on the trail in Murray Bridge.

Day 2: After spending the night in Tailem Bend I made an early start at first light to cram as many caches in today as I can. After completing the Geopets series in Tailem Bend I headed over to Murray Bridge to grab a coffee and then do and complete the OZmega series and a few in between before returning back to Tailem Bend for the night.
Was an epic day with 218 caches found and logged!

Day 3: Made this my last day in SA before calling it "time-out" and head back across the border to VIC.
Did a few more this morning including making a start on the Wandering Heroes series before 10:30 before calling it quits.

Thanks CPwanderer for the cache.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC & smiley face Smile

We had arrived in Tailem Bend last night, met up with Geodad as he has been working in Adelaide for almost 3 weeks. We surely do miss him. Our Geoboys had no football this w/end, we had nothing planned so this treck was in mind not being sure what the weather was going to be like we thought we would give it a start anyway. We had just had breakfast, a few cachers around Tailem Bend. Filled the car with fuel, said our goodbyes to Geodad & away we went on this incredible experience. Starting at approx 11am. Had a quick glance of the Honour Roll to see who & how many of these awesome geocachers we knew or had met on our travels during our Geocaching Experience. We haven't had the pleasure to meet Flipper&Co as of yet. Quick & easy find. TFTS Smile

31-May-15
We arrived in Tailem Bend about 7.30 a.m. to make a start on the Wandering Heroes trail in the hope of getting 100 per day for two days. Our first day was tiring with a fair bit of bush bashing to do to get caches.
We got caught in quite a few showers of rain and spent a long time on the road, but managed a comfortable tally for the day.

Thanks to all who placed and maintained caches here for this great 'adventure trail'. Excuse my generic logs, but with so many to do, individual logs are a bit past me tonight.

Thanks CPwanderer for your effort here.
