On our way to Whangarei and stopped here for the whereigo and virtual. Viv hates whereigo caches so decided to pick up some trads. This was closest to parking got to GZ and checked the obvious place, then checked other places and the ground, but we think this may have gone.

a wonderful holiday with kaari74 in NZ - we had a great time caching- thanks for all the gret caches you placed for us
I'm up visiting the parents for the christmas break, but still need some time to myself. Decided to head out and about on a small caching trip after lunch trying to beat the rain that is coming this afternoon. I targeted a few caches around town and up Maunu to try for.
This one was quick to locate, however the log is wet, soggy and unsignable due to a crack in the lid and all the recent rain. Could do with some attention from the CO

Well this was one elusive vegetable and a horrible green spot on my map until now. As it was raining all afternoon the walk had to be canceled so a park and grab in town would be good. I didn't have high hopes for this one as I had looked and couldn't find it twice, this time I got it though! After thorough inspection of one very likely tree I found something suspect and then had the cache in hand. The cap of the cache is missing and log book is damp but I managed to sign. TFTC.
Ample parking for a campervan so we pulled over. Several options for hiding here. One option left. Thanks for the placement Riser5
Car was empty...so heaps of room to park...at GZ and there were a few options as you expect with Riser lol right..left ah there it's...not sure I would like that for lunch thanks Riser great placement
found it - log very wet. Managed to sign though. (left right/right left!)
Having parked across the road for a while so we could wander and cache without worrying about the busy traffic, we were returning back to our car very ready for lunch when we saw this cache was nearby...just one more then before lunch, which of course took longer to find than expected! However we found it - then we could have our lunch! Many thanks

out with Red Roaming as we continue our tour of New Zealand. Now up here in the Northlands but haven't time to go much further. What a beautiful country you have. All logs signed with our initials to save time and space. As it was a cloudy, overcast day we decided to go to Whangarei to have a look and do the Wherigo there. Having completed the wherigo we decided to find a few other caches in Whangarei and we wanted a walk so walked along the waterfront and then around back to the car. This was on our route. this did take us a few minutes to hand. I eventually found it almost where I had looked before. TFTC
Gr8 one wventually found the right tree after thinking it was a different one TFTC
Out for my evening exercise jaunt and stopped off to find Risers lunch. A quick detour into the bush soon had the purple vege in hand. TFTC
Found my lunch today together with SpookyEyes during a stopp in this beautiful village. We had a nice walk and a great time. Yammie food.

Had a great day out caching today, with the aim to collect as many TBs as possible to take overseas on tuesday. The aim was also to get ever so slightly closer to the 500 caches found mark.
This one took us a little bit of time searching around, just as we were about to leave we found it.

Out for a final stroll in Whangarei before heading south in the morning. We spent too much time looking for a large piece of bark before making the correct assumption that this particular hint item might just be missing. It was a quick discovery after that. We did rehide using a large piece of bark as camo. TFTC
I was in Whangarei with ten students and a muggle teacher from St John’s College in Hamilton as part of their camp week. Over four days and three nights we visited Orewa, Whangaparoa, Waiwera, Whangarei, Paihia, Waitangi and Russel. The boys literally ran from Geocache to Geocache trying to beat each other to the find. By the second to last day they had all at least found one cache each. They all seemed to enjoy the experience and hopefully will decide to keep Geocaching as a consequence. We found a great variety of caches in some amazing spots. A huge thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining all the caches we found.
Having returned from a big trip north the boys were pretty tired but I was still keen to grab some more caches so I went for a late night stroll. This cache raised a smile as last week I completed a similar series of themed caches in Christchurch. I'm also aware that this particular lunch item container has been sought by a local Hamilton geocacher for her own unique spin on this type of cache and had to resist the urge to sneak away with it/

one of my favorite of the solanums, then again I'm pretty fond of most of the edible ones

Cool cache. I've tried to grow these twice now but had nothing to show for it. We're really up high here and it's just too cold. An easy find and plenty of parking today, TFTC
A Waitangi weekend road trip to collect a few puzzle series of caches that we have solved over the last month or so - plus any other caches that we can find on the way!
A bit of a scramble, a bit of a search and a whole lot of cache! Great container!

We found that one quite quickly but unfortunately got 10 mosquito bites within 3 minutes, which are still itching five days later and 18.000km far away.

Inspektor Higgins and I came here on our way to Tutukaka! We had a hotel in the city and during a nice stroll through the city we found this cache! Thanks for showing!
Be careful where you put your hands. We had to try a few places to discover this one.
Well it seems that the lid is still in place, not sure what happened there.
Replaced log sheet.

Yep, i second what KiwiLeon said! Should have at least tried this with a better torch than with my iPhone light and should have read the description rather than climbing all over the slippery wet boulders in the dark. Ahh well, ill just have to come back again another time, maybe in another 2 years
White cane pleae!
Maybe I should try it during daylight for a change and read the description better.

Loved the location, but it took me longer than it should have. Got there in the end ... more clambering than was ultimately necessary.
Up from Wellington for work, so good opportunity to score a few caches in another part of the country!

Got it on my second attempt! I think my GPS was a bit out the first time round. It IS the obvious way up after all. TFTC
#6242. Last of the day (well after lunch!). A muggle parked near GZ probably wondered what we were up to, lurking around in the bush. TFTC.
Took a couple of minutes to track down, and had to smile when saw the cache container. Unfortunately, the top is missing and there was no log book, so we added a scrap piece of paper with our names. TFTC.
5555. Before leaving Whangarei decided to do a few caches. This was number 4 of the day. A quick and easy find. Not exactly what we expected. Loved the container. just escaped before the meter maid arrived. now off to McCafe for refreshments and another cache! Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
In Whangarei as service crew for a car competing in the Whangarei Rally. After the midday service had a bit of time to kill so showed my fellow crewmember how to geo-cache. Found this one after quite a bit of searching. Location didn't match hint, so shifted it 20cm so that it did. Thanks for the challenge.
Not sure how much of your lunch we have found but we are getting their piece by piece. TFTC
Out on an early morning caching spree, Good to see that you were sticking to your 5+ a Day for vegetables, don't worry, I found your lunch, TFTC
Woot! Found it (after two tries)
Inside to left, not right and no bark in the way anymore.

3rd find in Whanagrei (2nd of the series), took a little while to find, but once we had the correct location was relatively simple. TFTC

Parked in the street above, and walked down to the carpark below (Doh!). A quicker find than expected at GZ, thanks. Another lunchbox item recovered. Novel cache containers in this series!

We think we have now located the full set of escapees from the luch box but we're sure someone will notify us if there are any more . Thanks for the great hides and the fun along the way TFTC.
never used to eat them because i didn't know how to cook them and then wow they are nice to eat but not for everyone tastes.
Visiting from California and finding a few caches along the way. Nice little walk down to this one. Fun theme. Thanks for the cache!
Had a few minutes to spare before meeting others for a fieldtrip & wanted to top up my picnic basket. Unlike weekdays, I thought the carpark may be fairly empty... which it was, BUT rapidly filling with muggles galore. Luckily they were distracted by the noise & goings on of the reason it was so busy = RALLY! duh! how could I forget?!
I went up the wrong way so had clambered down over the boulder anyway- then it was an easy find- haha. TFTC

Guess everyone was at the market, as carpark was empty. Hope your not too hungry, as I don't think i've got enough time to find all you lunch before moving on to Paihia. TFTC
Decided to go on a sunday
Knowing that the car park would be dead
Quick park and grab
