I expected this puzzle to give me a lot more trouble than it did. Once I thought about is, things fell into place and the coordinates were revealed. At GZ the cache was found after a long walk and a short search.

Giving n0w0rries a lift to pick up his truck from a service put me unexpectedly close to a slice of pi, so I detoured to collect it while he stopped to grab a coffee to enjoy afterwards.

We converged on truck parking... coincidentally, right here. So a bit of a walk was in order before we headed out again.

Thanks, Splad(em). Hugs for all the family.

Solved this one eons ago, and been sitting in gsak ever since...
Glad it's still alive, so I dropped in on it on way past today...
Short walk, quick find.

Thanks

Looked at this many years ago and didn’t have a clue what to do.

But then a little later I was struck by inspiration and a likely set of coordinates fell-out.

Visited between the lockdowns but there was nothing to be seen. Returned this afternoon for a much happier outcome. Plenty of grass seeds in socks but otherwise all good. TFTC.

Drat - I’ve already been here! Memorable because the map did not match the actual practical access options! Found nevertheless! In Melbs again to visit fam and spend time with good ol mum who lives nearby. This whole area was paddocks and orchards in the 60’s when we lived out this way so good to see a few areas of bush have escaped the burban takeover and been set aside. Once I realised the connection to O another fun past time activity helped the puzzle make sense! TFTC AND THE FUN !

We came here once before and had no luck.
This time it was much quicker.
Thanks Splad for placing this cache and for the puzzle (which I have forgotten how to solve).

With the puzzle solved and some exercise needed I stopped by tonight on my way home.
A nice quick find at GZ. A few laps of the nearby feature and away I go.
Thanks for the quirky puzzle Splad and thanks also to lotw for the replacement.
All in good order here.

Enjoyed the fun puzzle -- the first time I had seen one like it! Quick find; thank you for the cache!

Found out on the ground. I couldn't see its original hiding spot so could the CO please check. Log is nice and dry. thanks for the puzzle and bringing me to this nice lake.

When I received notification that leafotwind had permission to replace this cache, I couldn’t wait to collect our smiley after it taking so long to solve the puzzle.

Today, we walked straight GZ without needing to use the GPS and made a nice quick find.

Thank you Splad for a terrific puzzle and thanks to leafotwind for the maintenance.

After having read the logs I reached out to the CO and asked for permission to replace the cache. He emailed through the permission and I decided to pop by today and replace the cache. The container is a white pill bottle with a dessicant and protective bag over the log so it'll likely last until at least next winter without too much trouble.

We had solved this one a while back and since we were driving past we thought we'd drop in and collect. Unfortunately it was not to be. Despite a fairly thorough search of the area, we came up empty handed. We'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks Splad for the puzzle.

After finally working out this puzzle, with the help of a PAF & Steve walking me through it, I eventually got my head around the process. Directions and me are not a good fit. Today we decided to try and grab the cache, and despite accurate coordinates that perfectly matched the clue, we didn’t have any luck. Tried expanding our search radius, however, after an hour, we had to admit defeat.

Thanks anyway Splad. Will keep an eye on this one.

Found it!! I've been saving this one until needed and today was the day.. we found a nice safe place to park .. I wasn't sure what the hint meant until I was standing at GZ .. doh! Didn't I feel silly. Loved the puzzle had an idea of what to do but needed some help here.. Thanks Splad for creating the puzzle and placing the cache

It feels like this icon on the map (and corresponding pretty picture on this page) has been catching my eye for my entire life. I had some ideas about what to do but never really pushed things very hard. Actually I pretty much stopped solving puzzles after about 18 months of geocaching anyway, so that's not really saying much. Smile Anyway...

A while back I brought this puzzle image up on my laptop and a previous finder spontaneously asked "you've not solved that one? wanna tip?" or similar. And it was then that I perfected my technique. And some plausible coordinates soon emerged. In the end it was kind of a matter of doing a little *less* of what I'd tried in the past. Nice.

At GZ everything was exactly as the message in the checker said it would be, and the original, quite ancient log was nice and dry. Great! Thanks once again Splad!

A sudden flash of inspiration and suddenly the numbers just fell into place.
Couldn't believe my eyes as they appeared.
Well, initially I was making the puzzle far more complex than it should have been so once the orienteering part of the brain kicked into gear it was easy. Not as evil as I expected.
OK...on to the cache. Today there was an Event in a nearby park and it just so happened that the final was close at hand. A short drive after the event and the cache was in hand.
Nice to get this one off the radar.

Heading home from a weekend down in Geelong caching with Ozhockeychick, Pappilion4506 and Geoturtle327, and I just needed to find 2 more to get some odd numbers, so already having the numbers for this one, I stopped on the way through and made a quick find, and sign of the log. TFTC

After looking at this puzzle a year or two ago l left it in the to hard basket before my much smarter caching pal had a few ideas of his own on how to figure it out. So after a little correspondence we soon had this one worked out and today we went to collect. The cache was soon found after a short search. Found with omegaman1971 on a fine, sunny afternoon grabbing a few smilies out this way. Thanks Spladem for the challenging puzzle and the cache.

Cheers for the cache

I had an idea of how this puzzle would be figured out, but it still took me a little while to see the numbers required. Access to GZ was tough and once there a bit of toing and froing until the cache was spotted. Thanks for the puzzle Smile

I'd looked at this puzzle multiple times over the last few years but I never got anywhere. Recently I was chatting with the CO and got a hint. It still took me a bit of time but this time I ended up with some coords. I really want too far off with my previous attempts but as happens all too often I was just one small detail off.
I was in the area today and couldn't resist stopping in quickly to put my name in the log.
Thanks Spladem for the cache, the puzzle and the hint.

Initially could not figure out how to solve this puzzle, but I find by staring at something for long enough an inspiration will come (not always!). In the area today so after finding a way in, we squelched our way to GZ. Little bit of searching found the cache, safe and dry. Signed log and replaced. Thanks for the mind stimulating puzzle.

Found @4:39 PM #1906 This was a very clever puzzle. Took a while to work out how to solve but once that moment was discovered it all came together. Loved it. OzHockeyChick and i went out in the rain today to grab this find finally and the cache itself had been mowed around and still safe.

Find #2262

I headed out for a Saturday afternoon/evening run with Steve to try and find a few more of the Mystery caches that we had solved in order to qualify for the Mystery Month Challenge. I've had this puzzle solved for close to two years. The last time I was all set to go and find it and claim the unloved days it has accrued, a mob from the north-east of the state came down and found it before I could. Sad This afternoon however, it didn't take long to find and it is in quite good condition.
The previous log is clearly wrong and ought to have been deleted either by the cacher or the CO.

Thank-you to Spladem for placing this geocache

Solved it and found it Big Grin

I have peered over this one a few times before and all I saw were squiggles. However lately I have been keen to get better at puzzle caches and with all the practice my mind was a bit more open. A flash of inspiration here revealed the co-ordinates. Today I dropped by to sign off in a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Thanks Spladem for the fun little puzzle and a nice location for the cache.

Solved this one with a friend, and were happy to add our name to the log today.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Spladem, for us and others to find.

#5982 This happened to be one of the presolved puzzles that we managed to find on our caching travels this weekend. Access to GZ, however, was an another matter entirely. Perhaps we missed the off street parking or came from the wrong direction or perhaps it was the attempt of fitting 4 cars there. Further negotiating was required needing some orienteering skills (sans compass & map) to navigate our way around. Nevertheless we soon found ourselves at GZ and soon spotted the cache container sitting up there like jacky Big Grin. It was still in good order and one of our group will claim this for the Unloved Challenge (we have already qualified and found that cache) as it has been over 7 months since the last log. Our thanks to Spladem for the cache and well constructed puzzle. Cheers [^]

While in Melbourne with a close group of fellow cachers this cache was targeted for the mere fact that we had all managed to solve it so we took the opportunity to make a list of the ones everyone had done but could only choose a few that were close to the area that we were in.
Like a lot of caches we took the long and harder way in and the easy way out [:o)]
Once we hit GZ we knew where it was located so that part of it was quick Smile
I will be claiming this one for my Unloved Cache Challenge so it was a bonus for me really [^]
Thanks so much for making me use my the grey matter work a little harder and giving us them silie ==

Find # 3323
Streak: 89 days

I had solved this puzzle a while back, but wanted to save for my cache a day attempt. I attempted it a couple of weeks ago on a dark and rainy night with no luck. Today I gave it another shot and after a bit of a search in the daylight tonight, I eventually had the cache in hand.

Thanks to Spladem for thefun puzzle and of course the final cache. TNLN

Having gone merrily off on a few tangents, I had come to nothing and filed this one away in the drawer. A little while ago I pulled it back out, blew the dust off it and took another look. This time I managed to have some numbers appear that looked on the money. A nice puzzle indeed. Today on a little trip with StephanieK we stopped by at this pleasant GZ and happily found it. Thanks to Spladem for the puzzle and the cache.

I had looked at this puzzle once before but it was doing my head in so I put it in the too hard pile. However, after quite a bit of success on other puzzles of late I pulled it out again and withing a few minutes I had a set of co-ords. Awesome! So i entered them into the geo-checker only to big given a big thumbs down. Huh??? So I re-visisted the method and realised my mistake. Slightly different set of co-ords and got the big fat tick of approval. Dropped by GZ this morning to pick up the cache and sign the log. Thanks Spladem for the cache.

When I first saw this puzzle I was completely confused. I read the logs and started looking for books and images on the net hoping to stumble on a clue. I then just thought.. Maybe I will just try this and see what it produces. At first my numbers looked a little long then I realised a pattern, found some possible numbers and sure enough I got the green light. You beauty. So on the milk run tonight I grabbed the cache. Very happy. Thanks Spladem. Clever puzzle.

Found @ 22:35. After a caching assault on a tree climb with a group which included the CO yesterday, the subject of unloved caches came up. I got to claim the unloved points for that cache as I was the only one that needed them, but this puzzle got a mention.
I'd looked at it briefly before and mentioned my recollection of how to approach solving it - turns out I was heading down the right track but overthinking the significance of the puzzle name. I had another crack tonight and soon had the numbers and the okay from the checker.
I headed out to grab a cache for p366 and claim some more unloved points but it was not to be. Grrrr. Ali-J beat me to it 9 days ago, but hasn't logged it yet. I guess thems the breaks.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Spladem.

Oops...apologies to Sir-J Oz. Logging this one completely slipped my mind, all my brain power has been caught up in study mode lately. So, once again, apologies! Found this one after getting a small hint on how to solve it. Good idea for a cache and I enjoyed solving it (myself!!!!). Nice to have this one knocked off the to do list.

Still no idea how the puzzle works but grateful to my magnificent benefactor for the coords. TFTC.

I found this cache today at 12:35pm after a visit to the Dandenong Markets. I have had this one solved for many months now but I was saving it up for a day with no cache finds. However, as I am now in the downhill run with only 10 days left to go, it was time to take this one off the list after being in the top three caches closest to home for about 8 months. the puzzle was fairly decent and the hide was very much as described. Hust the way we like them. Thanks from D B-A.

Found @ 5:10pm, find # 1115.
When this one first came out, I had a look at it and then put it aside.
I have had a look at it a few times and needed to find it as it was always there when I turned on the GPSr.
Recently I had gained a few hints, not that they helped to much, so I had another good look at the puzzle and it finally came to me, it's so easy when you know what to do.
I made my way to GZ, had a bit of a look around and finally found what I was looking for.
Thanks to Spladem for this cache and the challenge

I managed to get the puzzle solved first go which is always nice. Finally at GZ today it was also a quick find. There was someone fishing nearby but I am not at all sure that he was going to get anything there. Thanks Spladem for the fun.

Surprised ourselves by solving this one fairly quickly while looking at some other caches but today was first opportunity to finish the deed. Now for the next in the series? TFTC.

Had this one solved for a while, but not had a chance to get out and test the result. Lovely puzzle Spladem. We had to avoid a muggle and dog, but other than that not too many around on this cool afternoon. Added a St Kilda AFL keyring, and SL. TFTC.

This one has had us scratching our heads since it came out. We thought of many different ways of solving it but none would give us a set of coordinates. It was only when we were in a group of cachers, some who had found it we over heard something that made us think we had it. Unfortunately we must have missed part of the conversation as it still took another week to finally get a set of coordinates that looked like were within the 3K range. We punched them into the Geo Checker only to be told WRONG!

Very disappointed we again left the page but Diane walked passed and noted I had typed the east co ordinates in wrong so she redid it and we had the answer. WHOO HOO!! We quickly jumped in the car and headed off to an area we had not visited before and were very happy to find the cache exactly where the GPSr said it should be.

Thanks once more Spladem, we seem to have found a few of your caches over the last week and must say we are glad this one is off the list at last.

Found @1415 #500 Yay!!! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin !!!!
Since this cache was published it has been at the back of my mind as its within my 10km radius, it must be found!
I have spent many hours trying to figure it out with no luck, but a few ideas... These assumptions if you like were confirmed to a small degree by Spladem at a recent event. Even after the event I took another look and still couldn’t see how to work this out. So it was placed in the too hard basket with a watch on the cache to see if any possible future finds/logs could provide some further insight.
The recent finds encourage me to have another go and since it had been some time since I had given this one much thought, maybe I would have some luck. The moment of brilliance happened while on the throne at work. The approach seem logical and soon I had a set of coordinates that seem possible.
The first set of numbers failed the GeoCheck which was a shock as I really through I had it correct, but then I saw that I had made a error in my calculations which gave me a slightly different set of numbers which this time was confirmed, Yay!! Cool.
So today I was in the area and it turns out to be my 500th find which was quite fitting due to the challenge that this cache has given me over the past few months. Thanks Spladem for the cache, very clever puzzle, this is a favorite. TFTC, TNLN.

Looked up caches in Rowville which I could visit after street-o and saw this. Solved the puzzle and didn't find it at all helpful in navigating aroun the twirly streets of Rowville. Waded through the mud to the cache soon afterwards. I am curious what evil twist was added by StreetO and Mr X02. Thanks Spladem for a good one.

Thanks for a neat little puzzle Spladem. Naturally I found this on the way to tonight's street O in Rowville.

I had solved this puzzle some time ago, but have not been in the area to look for the cache. This morning I was looking for a nearby cache, and this one came up on my radar. It took some time driving there as the cache is about 10 kilometres from work, but when I parked at the closest spot it was a quick walk in for an easy find. I noticed the at the recent grass cutting had come very close to the hide location, so I really hope this one lasts. Thanks once again spladem for another enjoyable caching experience. SL. STF 3.07pm. What a fantastically clever puzzle that really got the mind ticking over with all sorts of (useless!!) ideas lolol Razz
We started working on this one on Thur night and came up with what we thought were useable co-ords but this turned out to be not the case. Red Face
GMelb had another look on Friday night and we thought we had another set of co-ords but these, too, were no good.Sad
We put it aside on Saturday to go get some actual caches lol and then GMelb had another look late Sat arvo by which time the FTF had been logged (Congrats to Quasar and C@H !!)
Suddenly the penny dropped and we got the green light from Geochecker Yey!! And a bit of a D'oh feeling lol.
Grabbed it on this beautiful afternoon, just perfect for caching and got a nice photo too but won't be sharing that! TNLNSL
TFTC Spladem, we're really looking forward to the next one ......... we think lolol Razz

Earlier in the night I contacted Quasar to see if he wanted to go out for a run. We meet up and had a quick chat about our week and then started to talk about this puzzle. It was then on to try to find a solution. It was as if by ESP I got a call an SMS from Spladem asking (taunting) me to see who I was going with the puzzle. I called him a dork and he called me a nerd then Quasar and I went back to solving the puzzle Wink We started to head down a track that in the end was the answer. In the end it turned out we had been very close to the answer a good 40 minutes ago and the help of a book found on the internet had a diagram that almost told us how to solve the puzzle. Yet again I have been tricked by the thinking too hard about it bug.. *FTF* TFTC

26-Mar-11
*FTF* 12:50am. Joined up with covert to do a few caches over the period of the night. We met at our usual rendevouz and got ready to head out. For a change we had no real plans for the night, we were just going to wing it. Covert asked if I'd looked at Spladem's latest. I had and had a few ideas about how to solve it. We somehow ended up just sitting in my car running ideas past each other in an attempt to crack the puzzle. Having re-read the updated cache page a few extra ideas were tried out. After numerous variations of counting, line plotting, map transferring and google searching an hour had gone by before we knew it. I was just about to throw in the towel and tell covert 'let's go' when I had a 'news' flash, so to speak . . pen to paper and a set of viable numbers began appearing, at this stage covert was getting rather excited. A minute later and a set of coords were on the page. Geochecker gave us the green light and we were off.
We parked in the available car spot near GZ, and headed past the gate, and down the overgrown path to where the GPS was pointing us to. Once there we began our search. We hunted around for about five minutes until I located the cache. A nice blank log book inside soon had two names in it. I took the FTF pathtag (my first one of that kind), as it turned out covert had a ziplock bag full of them in his backpack. An unexpected FTF made a great start to the nights caching. Well done Spladem, a great puzzle that was simply complex (if you know what I mean).

I am chuffed that its proving to be this challenging, as an added incentive I've bumped up the difficulty rating by 1 star and added a GeoChecker..

Ive also added to the description in fairness to those that I haven't been in contact with yet.

I hope this will make your jobs easier rather than confusing you further..

I really expected it to be found straight away.. Good Luck everyone..
