Sorry I'm a couple days late on this. This site is currently having some beautiful old elms cut down sadly. So this cache will be off line for a short time. Thanks

04-Oct-20
Found easily!

This cache will be kept, as all these “elm trees” are being removed next week.

The contractor has said they will leave this stump to hide.

Came driving along here and didn't realise there was not only old oaks but also old people. We wondered why the old peoples care home was so far out of town, maybe it's all the racket they make at night playing their records up loud, nothing worse than Perry Como up loud at 9 o'clock at night.
After deciding which side we were supposed to be on, yep we read the clue but our GPSR was tricking us.
Finally found the cache, nice size too.
Thanks jantoshys for placing this for us to find. TNLNSL

#1688 Day 4 of the Great Vic Bike Ride ( Mt Gambier to Portland - 109km). This was the big day of riding. Heading out of Mt Gambier took this little detour down this nice tree lined avenue. Took a couple of mins to find (it was after all only 7.05 am and the brain was still struggling a little). TNLNSL. TFTC jantoshys.

What a great avenue. Quite enjoyed driving up this back street and they are such beautiful oak trees.
Admittedly, this cache had me searching for a good five minutes. Eventually found once I took a step back. The coordinates appear to be 7-10 m out, and should be on the other side of the road. The logbook is filling up, so a CO visit in the next few months to replace may need to be on the cards, thanks.

What a lovely avenue here!

School holidays means a geocaching road trip for Team Clarmensma (me, becca85 and our 4 geokids - AdamSistema, LukeSistema, neisha07 and boo09). This time we headed west to Mount Gambier for a few days of exploring. Over the 3 days we did lots of kilometres travelling from Ballarat/Maryborough across to the Mount and then back via the Otways. We really appreciate all the teams who put caches out for us to find as without you there would be no geocaching! So many many thanks!

Having arrived in Mt Gambier it was time to get out and do some caching. It was many caches ago that we were here last so plenty of new ones to find. This is a great location with the differing geological features and we enjoyed the varied hides. Nice to be in the company of Alansee and Di Morgan again. Thanks to jantoshys for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area. Big GrinBig Grin

Day 3 of our trip to Mount Gambier and we all (Moneydork, Tounga, sushilord and I) had the whole day to play around the Mount, out to Nelson and in the forest too Cool
All up, I had only 18 Smile cache finds, as I'd been down to this area before, and 2 DNFs Sad for the day.

Lovely trees and we guessed what the buildings nearby were used for.
Think I could live there in a few more years Wink

Visiting the Mount once again and this trip was mainly for a friendly game of Mountopoly. We had heard some good things about this series, and it didn't disappoint.

This one was on the way, so we decided to give it a go. The car navigator took us into the race course... ON MOUNT GAMBIER CUP DAY. OK, probably the worst time ever to head this direction so we turned back. Then we made another approach which turned out to be the right one. Mr M looked in exactly the right spot but didn't find it. Luckily Mrs M has better eyes. TFTC jantoshys.
