This took a little while until we realised that while searching at the first hint object I had been standing on the cache, so had moved on and missed it at first. Sigh.
Really cool walk, interesting reading the information boards and we loved finding the caches. TFTC
Very interesting walking track, we started early and took our time stopping for lots of snack breaks and rests for my short legs. I especially liked the caves and the lolly stops. Thanks for placing the caches on this track.
Nearly finished the loop. Really cool walk, would definitely recommend it if you have time on the way past.
Found after quite a search here but then widened the area & aha! Found with HRH54 TFTC
Took longer than it should had as GPS had us in wrong spotJuju54 went further afield then we heard the found it TFTC
Here today to walk the loop track and get all the caches on it.
Container is no longer a Sistema, is much smaller than in description and so hide was different than I had anticipated but an enjoyable find and is nice and dry. Great view from here. While finding the cache we heard strange but familiar beeping sounds nearby, we quickly recognised them as the sounds of a metal-detector and as we made our way a bit further along the trail we spotted movement in the bushes uphill about 20m off the track, we stopped to have a peek at the activity and we could just make out that there was a person placing rocks and shingle into a bucket - interesting!! - obviously there's a little gold still to be had in these here hills - best of luck to them! Tftc.

Enjoyed this walk today and picked up all ten caches. Lots of superb autumn colours on display, along with on and off drizzle! This one took us the longest of any to find. Looked in various spots and got there eventually. It hasn’t been muggled! #6083. TFTC.
In Dunedin for a wee Easter school holiday adventure. Rather wet so not sure what we'll be doing for the few days that we are down here! Today the aim was to visit Lawrence and then complete the walk around Gabriels Gully as MrsTGs ancesters mined here at the time....After having some lunch and waiting for a heavy shower to pass we set forth form the car with raincoats and umbrellas...thankfully the rain held off.
This took an age....longer than it should have. Mr15 made the find eventually after taking pity on me (I was very wet from scrambling around and through all the hints in the area...."uphill side of the/a uphill manuka, not base"....might help, especially when people are around, luckily with the crappy weather we had the place to ourselves....Loving the history.

Tftc, muggle thought we were berry picking cords and hint were accurate for us. Then we honed in on the correct area. Onto the walk!
A bit tricky but found eventually. Was a smaller container than in the description. Thank you for placing.
After a night camping, took off to do the loop track before heading further inland. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
Coords a bit miss leading but had a change of thought to finalise the cache. Tftc
Kia pai to koutou Wiki o Te Reo Māori. Ehara i te mānuka, he kānuka kē. Kia ora ki a kahluis!
A friend taught me: Manuka = mean (sharp leaves)
Kānuka= kind (soft leaves).

A nice quick find, eventually. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Ranfurly to Lawrence today, With some biking and some walking too. Another glorious day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

What a great walkway around. Spotted rocks at a hint item but needed to go up and around to find the cache. Thanks for the series drawp
A nice view out here ..the steep cliff face really brings home the conditions these people worked in took a few minutes to locate this one all good in the end thanks Drawp
Day two caching and seeing the sights of Otago and a bit of Southland with raylnz (big Sis from CH-Ch.) Brilliant day in Lawrence. Good to be out and about before our next self-imposed home detention. tftc

Dnf on my 6 weeks long holiday. Second time unlucky again. I searched all trees here, saw many rocks but nothing under them ...Is it missing again or am I blind only?
Thanks for the cache drawp. Have been wanting to come up here for sometime and pick up the collection of caches in this area. Also I have never been to the gully before so wanted to come check out the history here. It was all interesting. Seems strange now to think of all those people living and working here.
Back in the area for the night. Short hike to get this one which was missing on my last trip. Cheers.

It seems fairly obvious where it should be, which is why I think this one might be missing. Could just be me, of course.
So busy admiring the scenery I walked right by this cache. Had to backtrack quite a way to find it but the easiest find of the day. TFTC
Fantastic walk, and as someone earlier said, amazing what you can do with a large amount of water, a few hundred good men and will to totally wreck the place!
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

.Loving this walkway and all the interesting info dotted along the way. These workings are amazing. This one tagged - and onwards we go. Cheers
Its Wednesday 24 April and we are off exploring Milburn, Lawrence and Lake Mahinarangi today. Awesome!!
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Mirko83 and I are traveling through New Zealand from the 15th of december to the 10th of January. We rent a camper, one of the jucy green ones. We made a long list of places we want to visit. Geocaches are on our list as well. This will be fun
We came here to hike around the area and see what is left of the old gold ages. Also my first time I could fly my drone in New Zealand. This place was in the permit included, so I took lots of pictures from above. Thank you for the cache.

WhTs not to love about a caching trip combined with downsouthinv having to deliver parts for work.
Any excuse is a good one, and time to head off the main road into the wilderness to find us some caches.
Was amazing to think how they managed to do what they do with so little

At last, a free weekend before the onset of chaos. An early morning phone call...'are you able to take xyz up north to a customer?''
There was no excuse not to, quickly chucked clothes on dragged her outta bed raced into work, got parts, and on the road before 8am.
As we drove, the voice from the passenger seat, piped up and said ' look at all these, aren't we going near here?'
Oooh Goody!! Now it's a fun work trip, might be a long day!!!
A nice walk to pick up this one .
Amazing what the miners achieved with a pick and shovel.

Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

I've been past this a couple of times in the past. The first time my GPSr hadn't loaded and the second time I was rushing to catch up on the group that was way ahead of me. Today there were the two of us and plenty of time. A quick find. All nice and dry.
Easy find, just a bit tricky to get to -- I suspect that there has been some growth since cache placement.

Beautiful Autumnal morning to traverse this track - cache located, swapped some treasures signed log and replaced back in spot.
Out for a caching adventure to the Lawrence area with Sirbennis. Walked past this and had to walk all the way back to it. Great weather tho so was no problem. TFTC
Znahxn ahaha stopped at first place and notice the curious rock pile. Noicely hidden. SL, threw in some swag, recorded the code and grabbed the goods in PVC baggy and rehid. TFTC Drawp.
I spotted it too and I'm just starting out caching. SL on the book and seen the box was put back in the hide. TFTC Drawp
Heading home after a lovely week in Central so we planned to head to Gabriel's Gully to explore and find some caches. This was our eighth on the loop track and a nice quick find. TFTC
After a picnic lunch we decided to walk the most interesting historical Gabriel's Gulley loop track, following the original water race. There were many interesting interpretation boards & old mining relics and of course, a few caches hiden in interesting localities. Thanks for placing them .
A gentle stroll around the Gold fields heritage trail and a few caches along the way. Difficult to imagine the true scale of the operations. TFTC
Another cache on my April Central Otago caching trip with my grandparents, where I went from Dunedin through to Queenstown. Quick find on the loop track, TFTC

A gorgeous autumn day wandering the Gabriel's Gully area looking for caching "gold".
My class having been studying the history of Dunedin this term and reading the novel "Shining Rivers" by Ruth Dallas which tells the story of Johnnie Crawford about who makes his way from Dunedin to the Goldfields of Tuapeka to make his fortune.
Think we might visit and cache this area as a class to finish off our study. TFTC
