Enjoying this coastal walk, thanks for this cache, but it does need maintenance, the log book is very wet and soggy.
Very wet logbook, had problems to sign it. But very beautiful spot! Maybe choose a safer place for the cache?
On holiday in NZ from Scotland and enjoying exploring Kaikoura's wildlife and geocaches. 2nd last of the day. Beautiful, cold winter's day, the mountains were wonderful
Logbook very wet and struggled to sign it. LOTS of water under the boardwalk and can't really see a way of keeping this cache dry. Did our best propping it up with stones. Lots of muggles in the car park but not many here so an easy enough find; followed by coffee and crayfish fritters!

Seals! We saw seals!
And found a cache after giving it up as a DNF. I'm guessing it must have been washed out of its hidey hole during some high water because the eagle eyed youngster spotted it in the vegetation about fifty metres along the path. It was totally soaked inside, so we put into another bit of paper to sign, and returned it to where the GPS and the hint said it should be.

#5439. We were please there was a path from the road to GZ; just about a drive-by. TFTC.

Good to see people using the boardwalk, fortunately not when we were retrieving the cache.

Big (or maybe just medium sized) black spider gave me a bit of a fright as I retrieved this one.

Another cache on the peninsula track, a quick walk, stop, search, find, log and rehide
Thanks for the cache and bringing us some exitement along the track!

I've been on a three week tour of New Zealand. We were a group of 20 Danes, where I was the only geocacher, but many were interested to hear about what it was.
We arrived in Kaikoura early in the afternoon, and we then had a few hours on our own. I chose to lace up my hiking boots and take a trip out to the Seal Colony.
Today's second cache was found after a short search.
Thanks to the cache owner for the cache.

Second cache of the day on a little trip around Kaikoura after a leisurely breakfast at the motel. Had to wait for a muggle to jog by on the boardwalk.

After staying in the town on our holiday from England we came down to see the seals (and find a cache) it was our first day we have seen rain since arriving so it was a quick stop whithout going for a walk. I couldn't see it but put my hand where i thought I would put a cache if I was hiding it and immediatly felt it. TFTC.
On a night caching run while staying in Kaikoura. Good coords gave us another smilie. TFTC
A night caching run in Kaikoura bought us to this walkway. A quick find even in the dark. TFTC.
Despite muggles in the vincinity I was able to retrieve and replace the box easily. TFTC.

Went for a nice caching tour in New Zealand. Starting again from Queenstown going Westcoast up and Eastcoast down.. Nice things seem to be found here. Good cold temperatures but mostly no rain, so we enjoyed the tour everytime. Thanks for bringing us here.
On our little hike round the peninsula we found this cache at once at 1.55 p.m., too.
Thanks for the hide.

Great cache and hide and also the place where I have seen the first seal in the sea in this area. TFTC!
Great little coffee van just down the road gave us the ideal excuse to stop and search. Our54th cache on our 35 day holiday. I don't think we will make 100

4420. The third cache find on the fifth day of our six day geocaching tour around Hanmer and Kaikoura in our campervan. A quick find during a day of geocaching in and around Kaikoura township. A very interesting and picturesque area. Thanks, Rodney and Iris.
Nice stop for the cache on another fine day geocaching in the south island. SL TFTC
Heading around the Peninsula we had spotted the walkway and the cache so we were very happy to stop and try it out. No seals today so no problem to find the cache in the logical place. Thanks to the Cache placer and the maintainer.

It was a wet morning but we still went out to see what this beautiful spot had a offer even with limited views due to the low cloud. This was one of 3 caches we did along the shore line. The seals were in the car park and on the walk way at the seal colony. One of them looked like a speed hump in the car park but let you know when you got too close in case you did not spot him as he blends into the road. We signed the log and replaced. TFTC.
