Picked up moiramappers and thought I would help her find the cache at the old Cobram Barooga bridge. I had previously found this cache so I knew where to look, unfortunately the cache is missing.
Reasonably new to caching and we found GZ but not the cache. we did find ? cache but unable to retrieve. Enjoyed our walk anyhow.
I've had a lovely time after work searching for and finding a few caches. This one by far is my favourite, I don't know how many times I've driven over this old bridge before the new one was built. And I agree, the view from up here is fantastic this is the first time I've been up on the bridge by foot. SL took R2D2 (I think he is) and left the motorbike charm. TFTC
1821st cache found by WazzaAndWenches. Log signed at 07:23Hrs.
A crappy nights sleep and little chance of the wenches waking early enough meant I headed to Cobram before sun up for a half day of caching.
I well remember searching for the original cdmark cache near this location and being muggled a number of times by energetic walkers. Today was a different story as most muggles were still tucked up in bed.
Info gather quickly then a short walk to GZ for a quick find.
Thank you Blacklegend.

Just new at this. We thought we worked out co ordinates, but it just sent us back to the stone with the plaque on it. After an hour of going around in circles, and getting very sunburt, gave up.
Standing at the rock gathering the clues I could not help but admire the simplistic functional lines of the 'new' bridge.
I let out an involuntary yawn at that thought [:o]
With clues gathered and a set of real coordinates to head for I could not wait to head for the 'old' bridge
So much more interesting with all the moving bits and pieces and rivets and counterweights and timber road deck [^]
Plenty of places to hide a geocache too !!
Modern bridge designers just don't take that important design factor into consideration
I excitedly wandered around examining this and that.
A few years ago you just could not have done it without causing a traffic disruption
Amongst all the engineering complexity and overkill I eventually found the cache.
I took a firm hold on it and yanked it free of the iron work.
I was more worried about losing the logbook overboard in the stiff breeze blowing today than dropping the cache [:o]
All went well and everything is back in place, minus the 'AUSTRALIA IS HOME' travel bug
TFTC.

Finally got back to log this one and dropped of a TB. Maybe I should say placed a TB, please be careful not to drop it.
I was up visiting my good mate Blacklegend and fellow member of The Demolition Crew and decided to go out on a maintenance run on a number of his caches in the area. While he stood back I searched for these caches, and popped my name in the log. Thanks Adam for the and the laughs.
The river looked stunning today with a goodly flow. Bridges are always good for a cache, so thanks foe the 2 in 1
All good to go again..... Replaced today with new container, log book and toys.
Unfortuantly it wasn't there for this cacher, only the lid with the magnet (and the wasps) remained.
I've been wanting to do it for a while too.

#2415 We had been looking forward to this cache for a while now. We parked the GAV in the shade and walked under each structure to obtain the information we needed for GZ. A short stroll later had us around GZ, we had to dodge a few walkers. Stuck the hand in a place where some paper wasps were hanging around, after numerous bites it was back to looking for the cache which was located a little further down from the wasps. Glad to say that we didn't drop the cache, it's still there for the next cacher. Thanks for the fun Blacklegend, despite the stings we enjoyed this multi
Lovely place for a walk. It seems no time since we used to wait for the lights to cross over the old bridge. TFTC
Finished our work in time to go after a couple of caches in the area and so picked on this and another one on the road back to Mulwala. Often have smoko or lunch here in this park so know the area pretty well. In fact I'd found the previous cache here a couple of years back too.
Lovely spot and well worth a cache.
Thanks blacklegend.

#2 / 24 on a Cob / Toc night assault with Haveanez.
Just a short drive from the previous cache we stopped on the other side of the bridge and made the short walk to wpt 1.
Numbers punched in and off we went to Gz, where we spent some considerable time searching for the container before ringing he owner to confirm we were in the right spot. After a bit more searching I had finally wrestled the container from its hiding place.
These sort of engineering wonders fascinate me, amazing the sorts of complicated equipment they made back then. Interesting spot.
TNLN, TFTC, Cheers.

Final one for the day, my math was way out as I finished about 13m out in the river. LOL ... But the cache didn't escape me, WOW it is a strong magnet, but my fingers had a tight grip... Thanks legend, Black one...
attempted this one on your birthday, but did not have the clues for the multi, back today and found it , and yes some muscle is required thanks Blacklegend
Found with Ohbeeone at 11 am. After the find saw a poor old wallaby that was soaking wet as it had just scrambled out of the river lots of marks in the mud where it had tried to get up the bank. Great bridge TFTC
Great Little multi with a short little walk,on such a lovely day.The coords at WP1 where put together quickly and the cache was found no problem at GZ.

micheena - with one close by having muggle activity, i moved on to this one. Strong magnets, may need to join the gym.
With clan.litch just when we were hiding it again we were bombarded by canoeists and had to wait til they paddled past. Beautiful view of the river TFTC
Found after a Macca's breakfast with the Earthbound family, walenators and the farmers 5. TFTC
Found in the company of the Earthbound family, walenators and the Farmers 5. Love the structure of the old bridge, the new bridge just doesn't have the same character! TFTC
Lostmonster loves old bridges, and this one is no exception.
A neat hide, on a Fantastic old bridge in a superb Australian river setting, glad that the National trust has grabbed this old bridge to keep the Heritage alive, Sensational spot for a cache.
Many thanks Blacklegend for showing us the Bridge..............oh, and the Hide.Cheers.

Our first cache of the morning at 7.30 am Sunday with Earthbound and Walenators.
The pleasant walk was a great view and we soon had the goods in hand.
Thanks to Blacklegend for the history and cache hide.

A quick calculationa and we were off to the Gz, after a little walk early in the morning the cache was found and extracted mindful of the wet option. Luckly we keep it dry. Thanks Blacklegend. Found with the Farmers 5, and Earthbound Control TFTH...SL....TNLN
Found in convoy with the Farmers 5 and Walenators on our early morning assault of the caches we couldn't fit in yesterday. A nice multi to start after a maccas coffee. TFTC
Had a chat to a dog walking muggle while collecting the info. She had a French Mastiff-Rottweiler cross - the size of a small horse - but very placid and friendly. Having collected the info we headed to GZ where we found the cache after a couple of minutes searching.

TFTC Found with Hinklenator Roostaman and Fred6603 Took awhile to find this one found the co-ors out a bit thanks for taking us to this old bridge well worth a look, thanks for the hide
TFTC, Enjoyed this little multi, the hide eluded us for a while but did find it. Found with Hinco, Roostaman and Fred6603.
*FTF* #15 at 17:07 with Spladem. Found during 'Blacklegend's Bush Birthday Bash' event held on the Saturday in Barooga. We'd finished caching nearby in the Barooga State Forest and thought we'd stop and attempt this multi as we made our way to the west side of Cobram. I remember before the new bridge was built how cool it was to drive over the original old bridge into Barooga. It's amazing how long it lasted with the amount of traffic it used to carry, and many trucks as well. It was a bit sad when they finally closed the old bridge down.
We got the necessary info and walk to GZ where, after Spladem demonstrated some of his primal climbing skills, he spotted the cache and I retrieved it. Thanks for bringing me back to the old bridge Marshy, its been a very long time since I'd been across her. Cheers.

Quasar and I again proved team work is the key to a quick find, we grabbed the info at WP1 then headed over to GZ for the reasonably quick find.. I went the dodgy option to alow for a quick visual then we were soon removing the clean logsheet to sign in the *FTF* spot at abit after 5pm.. find #1271
Found with Fred6603, Hinklenator and Hinco by torch light after a big drive around the area after the BBBB Event. A very nice hide that we had seen before, but eluded us for quite a while in the dark. Fred came up with the goods again thankfully. TNLNSL TFTC Blacklegend,
Roostaman.
Roostaman.
Found with Roostaman, Hinklenator and Hinco. After a break for some dinner we resumed our night caching run. Did the sums at WP1 and then a nice moonlit walk to GZ. Found after a short search at 2110.
Thanks Blacklegend.
