Have been thinking about doing this for a while now. With a new Gourmet AdLab in place at Milawa I feel it is the right time to archive the Gourmet Series. Thanks to the many finders over the years.
Container not yet collected. Will think about it when the rains stop and the waters recede.

Last night, 2 new caches were published however I was too [|)]tired[|)] to go for a late night caching run[xx(]
Decided I'd sleep and then head out in the morning[^] I had visions of Team BGF beating me to Winton Wetlands though so I knew I'd have to be up earlier than normal for me![^] As a result, I had just over 2 hours sleep all night![:(!][xx(][:(!] Excitement and anticipation equals a body and brain that won't shut down!
Rex and I arrived at Mokoan about 8.30am[^] and eventually arrived home again about 11.30pm, tired[|)][|)] but happy too!
We found 9 caches today which was fantastic[^][:X][^] as I finally completed the old Gourmet Run series by finding #12 and #18 the final[:X]
We completed 2 adv labs, the new one at Mokoan (LOTJPATJ NATJAN DANAK - SCULPTURE WALK) and the new adv lab at Benalla (It's on the Wall)[^]
There was a 6WP multi at Milawa cemetery, where we had a chat to the neighbour next door[^][^] and then a lovely Lamb and Rosemary pie[:X][:X][^] from Milawa Bakery for lunch[^]
We also found 2 FTFs, had a chat with kmace on the phone and just generally relaxed for the day[^] while enjoying glorious blue skies and warm sunshine[:X][:X]
Pulling up near GZ, and on dusk too, I realised where the cache would be and gasped!
I only have a 3m ladder with me here in Vic and I'm short
Placing the ladder, I went up with my torch but could not find the cache
Back at the car, I grabbed my phone and my grabber tool for further exploration[^] Just as I was about to get back up the ladder for the 2nd time, a 4WD that had been doing laps came past again: so I jumped at them, waved and asked which of the men was good at climbing trees[?] Hence the passenger left his beer, climbed up my ladder and stood in the tree while his driver mate got my GPSr out of my car, after tripping over a hidden log under the knee high long grass
I am so pleased to have finished this series[:X][^] as the last few caches have taunted me for years
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for keeping them alive![^]

Took a while to get all 18 in the series. Enjoyed it all. Some where harder than other but all great. Thanks BettyBoo for keeping this series going.
GZ: was out here once before but missed it. This time, saw it pretty easily. TFTC.

Canberra Day long weekend trip to Wangaratta. After spending the Mega weekend down at Wangaratta, there was so much more to do that a plan was hatched to visit again to do the Warbies Challenges and the Old Coach Road. A team of Joolay, Kitty Katch, FurfacesLL, Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK and I came together for this trip. Day 4. I have reached the last day of my March Wangaratta trip, and now the long hard days are over, I headed out to finish some of the caches around Wangaratta before heading down to the Winton Wetlands to do the Adventure Lab caches and as many others as possible now I have learnt how to get in. The day ended with the drive home, a fun blast up the highway with a bonus whereigo at the end.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747

What a big day! Starting at the meet and greet in Wang and moving on to caching in the area. It was fantastic to complete the Gourmet run series and visit all the wine and gourmet areas at the same time. Great day out in the not too hot weather yet. This cache took a bit to find in the amount of long grass, thistles and spider webs to access it. Challenge to retrieve, but succeeded. Thanks for keeping the series in play BB and TFTC.
This was our final cache for today after meeting some fellow caches at the event. We enjoyed visiting some great places and sampling the fruits of their labour. GZ posed a challenge with the long grass, epic amounts of spider webs entranced with orange and black spiders as well as the blackberries. After getting within metres of GZ in a less than conventional way, it was clear the retrieval was going to require some more scrambling beyond the terrain rating! A great end to a great series.
Thankyou BettyBoo3747 for maintaining these caches for us all to enjoy!

Today we have moved to Malawa, staying at the Brown Brothers RV area. From here we will cache from Wangaratta and Beechworth areas
This morning we drove along the Spirit of Salt trail & in the afternoon into Wangaratta.
This was a good way to visit your area.
We have done many Gourmet caches over the years , completed another 2 today. This could just about wrap the series up for us.
Thanks for placing this cache BettyBoo3747

Today our mission was to head out and complete this series so that we could attempt the final and claim the unloved points. The cache is in great condition. Thankyou for all the caches. SL TFTC
On the unloved radar for today it took quite a bit of searching. At first i didn't have a full set of numbers and then conflicting information from pafs really didn't help much at all. Another PAF another dead end. I think I am over thinking this one. with a re-read of a few logs it was soon obvious there was only one location the cache could be and while it didn't match the T rating thats exactly where I found it. Nice to find such a large container full of cool swag for kids.
Out for the day finding unloved caches in the NE, this one was on the radar. Clever Monkey did the hard yards for this one, while I stood back and read logs. With one idea in mind I kinda sent CM on a wild goose chase before I read a few more logs, had a look around, and recalled him. Whoopsy! We were pretty sure we were in the right location, so while CM was hard at work on a few PAFs, I continued widening my search area. Finally we saw what we needed to see and, with room for one only, it was up to Clever Monkey to retrieve the cache. Awesome, I like seeing a decent-sized cache like this one, and as I have proven time and time again, a large cache does not always make an easy find. Thanks for adopting this cache BettyBoo3747, this was the first of a few of your caches we managed to find today

Heading past this on the way to the Kiewa Valley via Myrtelford so stopped to check out the suspected GZ, likely spot and after investigation located what I was looking for. The area around here is in need of a drink, is the driest I have seen the North East in years.
Thanks for the cache!!!

#1839 It seemed appropriate that we get a gourmet cache this evening after a gourmet dinner in nearby Oxley. Only problem was that we were so weighed down by stuffing our faces with the delicious fare (topped of by chocolate brownie and a nutty tart with ice cream and cream!) that ascending ourselves to grab the cache was an absolute struggle.... It was long overdue that we marked this one off, but as they say better late than never. Thanks for maintaining this cache BB.
Great to find this one the next day after taking a punt in the dark the night before. TFTC
TFTC. We have tried for this one twice before. The first time the car GPS suggested we can access GZ from The Great Alpine Way. Not being local we went home and searched for the Billabong. On our second trip Hans had been a bit dyslexic with transposing the clues and GZ was around 2km away. Very quickly changed a number to something that made sense. Quick look but no luck. This morning needed to go into Wangaratta this morning to empty the PO Box and third time lucky.
This was a wonderful series that highlighted the gourmet delights of the area. Thanks for the series.

Staying in Wangaratta for a few days, to cache around the area and do some sightseeing.
Having done some of the series on previous visits, it was now time to use the clues collected.
Arrived at GZ and after a quick look, we guessed where it may be hiding.
Geo-wife drew the short straw, the log was signed and we were on our way.
Many thanks for placing this cache, BettyBoo3747, for us and others to find.

After having a gourmet tour of the very diverse region we finally arrived at this spot. Hmmm! How to tackle this one???
No way could I have done it - well maybe 50 years ago. Muggle Hubby studied the situation and I could see even he was having dubious doubts about it. However for the second time today his procurement prowess succeeded in acquiring what we came here to find. Then, log signed, it was carefully replaced. Two weary travellers can wend their way on the long drive homewards.

Taking advantage of the dry day, with an afternoon spent on the outskirts of Wangaratta this was the tenth of 10 bright smilie faces we added to our map.
What a long awaited and satisfying completion to the run taking us past historical sites and current premises of producers and purveyors of gastronomical delights.
TNLN .. . . . SL . . Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the hunt.

Suscoe's 33rd find of 42 caches for today on a terrific day out and about in the Wangaratta area.
After a few days of wet weather, today was pretty dry and quite pleasant even though it was cold.
We saw a broad range of caches and enjoyed the trip through the countryside and the towns.
Thanks to BettyBoo3747 and purpledreamer for this series, we had lots of fun working our way around finding each cache and working out the last location.
It was great to have the final in our hands at GZ!!!!!!
A favourite for this cache and the series
Time to see where else we will get to as there are a few hours of daylight left.

Having found all caches in this series and obtained the required information we headed to the Ovens Billabong. Having had a snakey experience last week at Wodonga Mrs y'stassie was a little hesitant about proceeding to GZ but got there in the end. After a circuit of GZ we spotted a purpledreamer colour and Mrs y'stassie was elected to retrieve the cache. What a great way to end this delightful series. The cache and contents were in very good condition. We enjoyed the view and the peaceful surroundings.
This series took us through some very interesting places around Oxley and Milawa and we were able to sample some of the gourmet produce from the district, yummy cheese, olives and wine. Many of the brands were new to us.
Thanks BettyBoo for adopting this purpledreamer series it certainy earns a favorite from us.

Armed with the required clues we headed to the Ovens Billabong. After travelling around the gourmet region we were anticipating something rather special and we weren't disappointed. A great hide for the final cache. Thanks to BettyBoo for keeping PurpleDreamers gourmet run going. SL and then back to the car and into Wangaratta for a hot drink. Thanks to. Micheena and au.fait for another day of caching together. TFTC
micheena - with all clues in hand, off to GZ. Ha ha. I was hoping after mustard, cheese, wine, olives and nuts, the reward could have been chocolate. Have enjoyed this series, and have remembered a special friend along the way. Well off for a hot chocolate to finish off the day. Well earned. Thanks BettBoo3747 for keeping the gourmet run going.
A really fantastic feast which is truly satisfying It made a full day of fun and discovery with micheena and kerydn21. TFTC BettyBoo

Second day of my caching run around this area. After finding most of the Gourmet Run series of caches I headed to GZ and was rewarded with a nicely hidden cache in an interesting area. Really enjoyed this series. My thanks the BettyBoo3747 for taking over the series and my thoughts are with purpledreamer who sounds like a great person. Now off to the next one !

We did the majority of these caches a while ago, however we came down today to get the final caches. The final had us looking around until I made the leap of faith. The cache was soon in hand. The tricky part was returning the cache to it's hide. Thankyou for the cache.
RIP PurpleDreamer

Our GPS was sending us through private property so we didn't venture to the cashe. Obviously we missed something along the way. Boys enjoyed their day and want to go treasure hunting again soon.
Wow great spot. Never new about this place, must come back and investigate further. Good finish to an excellent series thank you very much. TNL various critters.
As I have just adopted the Gourmet Series, Robmc and I did a cache check and maintenance run today. This cache and log are in good condition.

I'd completed this series very early on in my caching career, and at the time wasn't even aware of the bonus co-ords. I acquired the final co-ords and finally managed a trip out here. A fantastic location, and should get an extra terrain star when it's been raining as things were very slippery, but otherwise the cache was found an logged. TFTC and a belated thanks for the series!
This was easy after my GPS stopped jumping around! A very clever hide! One of the WLS boys fell out of the tree but we managed to get up there and retrieve the cache! Left button! Thanks for this excellent trail!!
What a cool end to an amazing trail thanks purple dreamer for such a cool cache linking great history and such a great fun experience TFTC

Find # 1615
Today was day three of a massive adventure weekend caching in the Albury Wadonga region as well as incorporating the OZ Mega event. I would be spending most of my time with Team Kwokka (Brother and Sister in Law) as well as my caching mate and partner in crime, SedgwickDave
Today we were aiming to complete two power trails, having completed Spirit of Salts, now starting our second series The Gourmet Run.
The final one in the series. We had 1 DNF for the series and guessed that there may have been a clue to the final in that cache. We put together all the numbers we had and made what turned out to be a good educated guess. TNLN.
We have had an awesome time today, completed two power trails and found a total of 43 caches. Thanks to purpledreamer for putting out such a fantastic and well thought out cache series. The final was definitely a favorite.

While attending the OzMega with ahomburg & Kwokka this was one of many caches found over the long weekend with 101 in total found. Today was the biggest single day with 42 found.
This series look great with various different hides in the series seen with variety in each.
Ahombug and Mrs Kwokka work about the coordinates for this epic final and soon we were at GZ.
It was now dark so this made the hunt a bit more of a challenge.
A nice finsih and in the end it was Mr Kwokka who made the final grab.
Took TB blue kangaroo, left blue marble.
A great cache to bring up the 1400th find.
This was the final find today and time to head back to the Mega for BABBA
TFTC purpledreamer and for the effort and time is creating this fun series. A favorite

After we had walked 20 metres with the GPS saying that the cache was 7 metres away and not getting any closer it was time to use a bit of cachers nous and bingo we scored a bullseye. There is an unattached TB tag in the cache, it must belong to one of the toys so we left it there.
Thanks purpledreamer for an interesting series.

Excellent series that has taken us to some great spots in the area. Always a bonus when the hides are all a bit different with only one eluding us. We also have a few local products to sample with our wine tonight. Thanks for the cache trail TFTC.
Well after a very big caching morning, meeting the cache owner, getting lost and finding great caches it was time to bring it all to an end.
Thanks purple dreamer for a great series that has kept us occupied.

Yeah!! we found it at 9.15pm and Geoson loved the last few meters a challenge by made it. Signed the logand replaced the cache and then shined the torch on a HUGE spiderwith the leg span as big as my palm...EWWWEH Thanks for a great series and we made a note to start any next series we start earlier in the day.
Hooray, I finally found it with Fred6603 on an afternoon run to finish this series. After 2 days of roaming around & a couple of backtracks we managed to gather all the right info needed to find GZ. A great little spot for the final cache and a good hide too. TFTC and the series purpledreamer,
Roostaman.
Roostaman.
Hum ... a climb ... not usually my thing, but today I volunteered. No ants here, just a cache. TFTC, and the series! I will be back to sample more of the food that's available around here!
Found by Mary & David, in company with lochb, at 1800. We had no idea we'd get this far in the series, having completed the Spirit of Salts series earlier in the afternoon. We've had a marvellous day. Purchased fig salami at the cheese place, and horseradish dip, chocolate butter, shiraz jelly and mango chutney from the Mustard shop. Plan to go back soon. Great to meet you yesterday, and many thanks to purpledreamer for so many enjoyable caches.
Found at 1730 in the company of Roostaman while in Wangaratta for the Wang springtime meet and greet event. We started this one last night but ran out of time. Got a chance this afternoon to do the remaining caches and gather all the required information to find GZ.
Thanks purpledreamer.
Thanks purpledreamer.
All our clues collected, we went to have some lunch! We had to sample some of the treats we had been driving past all morning. We then proceeded to GZ, and a quick find amoungst all the ants.
Thanks for this series, and all of your caches I have done the last two days (and the company on friday's caching!)
Thanks, Robmc.

This was the last in this series for us and as we were heading home did not know if we would have time to have a look. We worked out the required information and were very happy it was not too far out of our way so off we went. We arrived at GZ and had a quick search before realising where the hide was. The last few meters to GZ were a bit slow but worth it when we found a good sized cache. We have now added our name to the log book and we must say coming back the last few meters was a bit quicker than expected, or wanted.
Our thanks once more for a great series and a very nice GZ.

Out for a caching road trip through parts of Victoria with FarmerFrenzten, Steeba and Big Matt & Shell. This was one of the many caches we found.
Having grabbed all the required info we headed out to GZ. The swollen creek/river didnt prevent us from getting this one.
Thanks

Reperio at 1715. After collecting the required information earlier in the day, I realised I was headed in the wring direction and so had to wait until later in the day to find this one. With so much rain this year, the nearby area is still quite flooded, and wondered whether I would be getting my feet wet to retrieve it. Got a little closer, and soon realised that the cache was high and dry. Enjoyed the drive today and visited a few places I hadn't seen before.

Found with FarmerFrentzen, steeba and The Rats on our Victoria Invasion trip. A quick walk in here in the dark tonight and I drew the straw to go looking for the cache. I found it and got to admire the high water level as I we stickered the log. A nice spot to finish the series.

It was good to be able to complete this series on our trip. We had spent the afternoon gathering the required information and after dark went out to GZ. There was plenty of water and I thought the scache might be submerged but thankfully it was up not down! Thanks for an enjoyable series.

It was now drizzling with rain so it made the ascent to GZ a bit slippery. Cache was soon in hand. A well put together run it took us to places we haven't been before. Thanks Purpledreamer.
After happily getting the necessary lead-up information (although I did only miss out on one cache) my GZ had me at an interesting spot. A minute later the cache was retrieved and returned. Many thanks to purpledreamer for a fun series.
Found in the company of the Earthbound family, walenators and the Farmers 5. A most enjoyable series of caches, thank you so much for the effort that's gone into putting it out.
Even down on the ground with no hope of reaching this cache, EB Nano (age 7) still manages to claim the find because he "saw it first"!! TFTC
Well all good adventures must come to an end and this one ended up with two great big puddles in our way. So we powered through to the GZ that we had calculated even though we were unfortunately unable to find two of the caches in the series.
With torches blazing, Eb Nano screamed from thirty metres, "there it is, I've found it"
None of us adults could until the chief got closer and guided Walenater for the retrieval with his torch.
Thanks for a lovely series that made us drive around parts of the area we would have overlooked

What a fantastic series, the final co-ords were worked out and as we arrived at the Gz, it was in total darkness, but we managed to find the cache as EB Nano shouted out there it is. After a slippery climb the cache was recovered. Thanks purpledreamer, great job. Found with the Farmers 5, and Earthbound Control TFTH...SL....TNLN
After a very enjoyable run through the series to gain all the clues, we punched in all the co-ords and came up with a likely position.
It was drizzly and dark and took awhile with torches , but find it we did.
Many thanks to purpledreamer for a most enjoyable series seeing many gourmet spots.

Found on dusk after a very enjoyable afternoon of caching. Thanks Purpledreamer for the work you have put in to take us on a tour of this marvelous region.
Well I quite enjoyed this series of caches that took us to some interesting locations, I see a fair bit of work was put into preparing these, nicely done. Finished just before the last light of the day. Had fun

A fitting way to finish an enjoyable series. We have spent the best part of the day caching along the gourmet run without gaining any calories. A very pleasant spot to wind up a days caching. SL TFTC Took a TB
#1505 Found on our day out & about in Wang and beyond. The end of the series has come (hang on - still one left hanging at the footy ground) and has culminated in the finale. We parked near to GZ but soon discovered cars exiting a track some 25m down the road from us. So we chucked a U-ey and were soon driving in the right direction toward GZ. It was dark by now and the torches were deployed and a likely spot was pointed out to Dad & monkey man made the retrieve. Would be surprised if this one is ever flood affected. This one might be challenging for some cachers but Dad was in his element . Thanks for the cache and series purpledreamer - we had a nice drive through the area & discovered places we didn't know existed & that's what its all about!
Took: Roo TB

Pulled up to see a maroon commodore parked right next to the geotrail to Gz and thought it might have been another cacher but couldn't see anyone around.
Cache was spotted in its hiding placed from about 25mt away, sort of stood out a bit.
Retrieved and bought it back to the car before having a look at the contents and sign the log, swapped Skippy TB for a Turtle TB and a GC.
Cheers.

We started the day off in Wangaratta and then headed on out to Beechworth. We found 21 caches in total on a beautiful day. Thanks heaps...
Found on another caching run with my best mate Slink1. Its better than working! TFTC SL
Out on an extended caching trip with my old school mate Dunko, quick find at GZ no splash down and the log was signed, TFTC
The 25th and final cache of the day, the last in this great series. Had a drive around the reserve to suss out who was about before making the retrieval. Signed the log and drove back to Wodonga with big smiles.
Thanks Purpledreamer

Catching up on logs from three years ago. Apologies for the brief comments, it was so long ago I can't remember specifics.
Found with Team Rubik. Apologies for the late log. Not time at the moment for caching or for descriptive logs. TFTC.
Sat and worked out the location at the last cache and soon had the location of this one sorted out. Didn't have too much trouble with retrieval either which was encouraging. Dropped a TB in here which I picked up earlier in the day although perhaps I shouldn't have since the visits may not be all that frequent. In any case it's done.
Thanks indeed for a great series.

Finally reached the end of the series. It was just getting dark which was good because it shielded us from the campers over the river. A bit of a struggle for an old Swaggie but we got there in the end! We were in this area last year (at the same time) and I guess it is a good chance we will be in this area next year so we may meet up sometime. Thanks Purpledreamer for a great series, catch you later!
April 21st - Just realise that of the 48 caches we did this weekend, 22 of them were yours! Thanks for a providing a great days entertainment in an area we love to come back too.

One of 17 found for the day on a family caching trip to the Wangaratta area. After completing a very nice series, i assembled the coordinates from the clues, and headed off to GZ. Aware of the GPSr's tendency to play tricks with the roads here near to GZ, and avoiding it sending me onto the freeway to (not be able to) get to this. Drove back through Millawa, and then onto GZ. Once there, realized i had been lucky to wear my trail shoes today, as they are quite grippy in the mud and wet. I certainly needed them to get to the cache. After not slipping i was able to complete the find and replace the cache in its hidey hole.
Great series PD. Had a lot of fun over two different outings to complete this.

Finished the series off today on a pretty cool day! Many thanks Purpledreamer for the series through the Milawa 'Gourmet' region. Some great spots visited we hadn't been to before.
A great range of caches to find too.
GZ was muggle free today so big Ez went for the cache! Nicely hidden.
GeoKids were eating chocolate in the car, luckily, as with the great range of swaps we may have been there all afternoon. Cheers!

Found at 12.27pm We could see the container as we drove in - how are we going to get that! Geopa was despatched and came back with a wonderful cache of goodies. Took: RoboRaptor TB Left: Been There TB and Simpsons surf board. Thoroughly enjoyed this series purpledreamer. Discovered a few new places and roads despite having lived in this area for 55+ years. We camoflagued the cache container when we re-hid it. Could not stop Haveanez from being the next to find though LOL
Found this today - we finished the Gourmet series except for #2 Very tricky hide - a bit difficult to get to. TFTC Thanks for the series - enjoyed the drive around the area today signed log

I'm a bit scared of climbing. I don't handle standing on a chair very well. I was sure I knew where the cache was. I didn't want to go up there. But a call to purpledreamer confirmed I would have to. It was dark. I was alone. The lagoon below looked cold, wet and muddy. I ended up sticky taping the torch I was carrying around my neck. Then I started the ascent. It was a slow and painful process. I retrieved the cache, and threw it to the ground, then I climbed down.
The log was signed. Travel bug details were noted, a packet of seed was left. Now to return it... I ended up sticky taping the cache to my belly. Seriously. I must have been a sight to behold. Anyway, I got it back.
Scary all around. But hey, I've pretty much completed purpledreamer's fine Gourmet tour of the Milawa area. Thankyou for putting together this excellent series of caches
