Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.

Visiting Rotorua (from Wellington) for a few days and grabbing a few select caches around the place. This was one of them.

A great wee camo here. Fortunately it was all quiet today so had plenty of time to search.

At first just thought this was going to be another quick micro cache in a suburban area, but once we discovered the cache we changed our view. Lovely crafted cached and nicely placed. Thanks for the cache and short walk. FP awarded.

Out picking up a few caches with imcuzz this afternoon in Rotorua. We spent a few minutes looking around and then looked up previous logs. As a previous logger said, thinking about the title is very helpful, and with that in mind, we soon found it (actually imcuzz did!). TFTC

After a few failed attempts where i had to walk straight past gz, due to muggle passerbys who were obviously on the way to somewhere, i finally timed my walk to nowhere, at the same time as no-one else, and had the laneway all to myself long enough to have a bit of a hunt.

Looked in all the wrong places first as my gps was a bit all over the place. Was almost due to bail on this one as i was running short on time, but then i thought id look a bit further afield... saw something that peaked my curiousity and.... the penny dropped!

Another brief pause in the middle of logbook signing, while yet another muggle passed on through - I tied my shoelace so as not to look too suspicious loitering - and then i was on my way to check out of our accommodation ready for our homebound trip.

Definately worth a fav point from me. Thanks for the fun.

Parked on the street to get this cache. Walked straight past the walkway heading for the park at the end of the road before I realised my mistake. Once at GZ. Found easily. Great hide, fav point, easily spotted.

I am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. I have just wave of hubby. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout. Now I am caching with Ethness and Jude_E. We are basing ourselves in Rotorua during this time.

Didn't find this one will try again some other time.

Spent a good five minutes looking around. Decided to trust the GPS a s found it straight away. Pleased to find as I'd just had a DNF on a 1 and was considering retiring.

Brrrrrrrrrrr...its cold out here, there must be some snow up on the mountain near ...here lol. It was a cold one today so tried to get this done quickly. Started at the wrong end but once we changed direction we soon found the cleverly disguised cache (Mr Taylana had overlooked this previously lol) after signing the log we were soon were back in the warmth of the car. TFTC

I was heading down to Rotorua for the plaque unveiling for GC45 - the first geocache placed outside of the US. I was staying up by the airport, so swung by to find this cache on my way back to the town centre. It was nice and quiet around GZ, and I waited in my car for a woman walking her dog to head down the alley.

Once at GZ I quickly spotted something which warranted further investigation and I soon had the cache in hand. Very well concealed in plain sight.

Was a bit worried, but found with little blackbird and rustynz. Clever hide, thanks

With time ticking away, we will have to make this our last Rotorua find, as we need to get the campervan back to Auckland before 4 pm. Its been a fun weekend of caching and attending the GC45 Birthday event.

I was a little worried as I approached GZ, but spotted something, and with a twist, was soon signing the log.

A cool hide Agogo, I can see why it is earning them favourite points.

Three times we gather in nearby Neil Hunt park for the Walking Festival. This cache shows as close -- but on the other side of houses and fences. Finally! we get a chance to visit.

If the cache is black, bent at the end, screw top -- then it is empty. And we found it. So TFTC
Otherwise... ??

If that's the cache, it needs maintenance! Sorry, we didn't have a spare log to put in it.

I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #898, found it but no logbook, photo proof available.

I found a similar hide recently so it was easily spotted. #90

Out today touring the area decided to grab a cache or two this evening.

When I got back to the car I read the cache description again I realized I had seen something going nowhere. I returned to the GZ and had the cache in hand in no time at all.

We went on a day trip to Rotorua from Tauranga eager to see what some of the city's most favourited caches were like.
The rain kept the muggles away, so it turned out to be an ideal day for geocaching.

Seeing the difficulty rating, I wasn't sure we would be able to find this cache because, as beginners, we're working our way up from the easier caches. But we thought this one sounded like it was worth a try.

I completely surprised myself and stumbled upon this cache within seconds of arriving at the location. It was beginner's luck, I think, because it was a clever hide. It all made sense once we found it. Nicely done. Thanks for the cache.

we are up in Rotorua for a reunion and while hubby attends that i am free to go locate a few geo caches. but today is the last day as we travel home tomorrow until the rain set in and i got very wet and had to return to the motel and dry and change. .but i stayed wet long enough to locate a few of the caches in this area.

Had searched for this one mulitple times before, however we went to the meet and greet in Hamilton the night before and met KayGeeDee who pointed us in the right direction and this morning we were able to get. Yay!

Found at last!! We have been here before... in fact we've been here three times... three unsuccessful adventures up and down with GPS in hand... looking... looking and looking some more. Thanks to a little geographical nudge from a friend we were able to locate this and end our torture! Fantastic cache that really had us thinking... and made much more challenging by all the plant growth!
