Saturday morning agreed to meet some friends for Coffee and a walk with the dogs. Turned into a nice little 3km wander through Chermside Hills Reserve, getting two caches along the way. First time to this area and really enjoyed the trails.

This cache was a nice and easy find. The dogs went head first down the hill. Cache is dry.
TFTC, found with muggle Nicole (who had followed me on a number of adventures) and her friend who got to witness her first geocache find.

i have been here before and did not find this cache. wow i must have had some cache blindness that day because i saw a likely hiding spot on approach and sure enough there was the cache. Thanks for taking me up this hill , i enjoyed the walk and a cache to boot.

31-Dec-22
On the last day of the year, I managed to get a final couple of hours caching time in. The dog as usual was up for a bushwalk, so a little drive to this bushland reserve and we were ready to tick off another couple of the drum beat series caches, plus start on the nearby multi cache and traditional.
We arrived at the top of the hill and took note of the two pieces of info I needed for another cache, and then had 25m to find this cache.
The container was found quite quickly, as previous finders have noted there is a small hole in the lid, but with the zip lock back in place, the log book is nice and dry.
The log book was signed and rehidden.
Thanks very much for the cache ruzzelz. Cheers

Great spot and great find after a hill walk

10-Jul-22
Having failed the multicache guessing game, found myself back up the hill to log this cache. A quick find and now wondering why I didn’t log it on the first pass But that’s fine as exercise is good for the soul. And as I only ducked out to the local shops for a new shower cap, all of today’s smileys are a bonus

No spiders were harmed during this expedition Smile

And aren't we glad the decision was made to preserve this place. I visited today on a continued mission for ruzzelz hides, and two would greet me here. These remnant bushlands aren't all created equal and it's clear that dedication from the bushcare group combined with natural chance has resulted in a beautiful place to spend some time.

Yeah, I was poking around multicache waypoints from my start on Trouts Road, but this totally stands alone too. I enjoyed that with only the subtle rumble of Hamilton Road to beg otherwise, this felt a long way from civiliation. Also helps I saw no other humans. It should have been hot today, but a cool break and breeze meant powering even up the stairs wasn't so bad.

I enjoyed the variety of flora, and interspersed with many grass trees. It wouldn't take me long to get to the summit and enjoy the view across to the Brisbane skyline. A few geotrails lead the right way, so I picked one and aimed for GZ. Right where expected, there was a SPOR, and a geocache within.

Just before 14:30 I signed the logbook and replaced as found. Hey! My first geocache for the year. And what a winner to start off with. I'd explore as much of the trails here as possible this afternoon, and enjoy it thoroughly. Thank you for bringing me here, ruzzlez Smile

Out with geofriends again today to finish off the Drumbeat series and any other caches along the way. (Snickersallan, RoddyC, hatzofff, GS1947 and Imbunda).

Chose to walk clockwise to pick up the caches and luckily we did, as the walk back to the car was mostly downhill... Lovely seat at the top but trees blocked the view.

A quick find after checking out a likely spot. SL then returned as found.

Thanks for the cache and taking us here ruzzelz.

We got up early this morning and began our geocaching day at 6 am. We met up with E_Smiley to finish off the drumbeat series. It was so beautiful to be on top of this hill by just after 6:30 am. The sun was starting to finally warm us a tiny bit and we signed the log before continuing our walk around this bushy area.
Thanks ruzzelz

This evening, after picking up an errand, and needing a multi-cache for today's calendar day, I headed to Chermside Hills Reserve. It was such terrific weather that I decided to jog around the various tracks finding the geocaches in the area. A great area that I would love to return to in better light to see these grass trees, but the tracks and boardwalks were actually pretty cool nevertheless.

Whilst jogging up the trails whilst following the *Grass Tree Trail - just another little hill climb* multi-cache, I stopped off here to make this traditional cache find (and as it turned out, it was my first find of the day). I walked just off the path and found this cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks ruzzelz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

As we were strolling past this collecting some drum beats it would have been rude not to search. Took me ages so had to call on TeamARF's trusty GPS. How did I miss that pile!! TFTC and gorgeous view!

A short walk up the hill in the drizzle was nice until it started to pee down. I had just found the log and was about to sign and the heavens opened up. Log protected and cache back away it was a mad rush back down the hill in the rain, all in vain as I was drenched. Nice to enjoy the cool rains on the clothes rather than the heat and sweaty clothes

After finding a few caches in the rain yesterday and feeling miserable, we decided to replicate the madness today which in geo-language is a synonym for fun. We grabbed the umbrellas and set sail up the hill.

The brollies were going up and down more times than a young man in a stripper club as the weather couldn’t work out to do with itself. Even in the unsavoury wet conditions we were amazed at the amount of joggers out in the area. It made us realise that we aren’t the only crazy ones out here today but we were the driest (which I’m not sure is a real word but the spellchecker hasn’t complained, unlike the word fulkadiddle).

Mrs Woodyrothwell stopped for a breather at the top of the hill while I tried not to fall on my ass on the slippery leaves. Thankfully I spied the pile of suspiciousness and we could continue our mud-hopping jaunt on the trail. tftc

We are staying with Mrs KEs brother and his family just below gz. The afternoon had cooled enough to get a walk in just before sun set. I took a slightly indirect route to this one due to my phone GPS taking a while to settle in gz. Nice and easy to find once close though and a nice area for a walk.
Thanks ruzzelz for the cache.

23-Apr-18
It’s been a long time since I looked for a cache but thought I would see what was around on an afternoon hike. TFTC
