I'm enjoying the lovely bush here. Fluffed around a bit here, but in the end a quick and obvious find once in the right place. tftc
Great container! And what a great patch of forest - just love it! We think this place looks like a movie set. Quick, easy find on a day where we're hoping the rain stays away.... but as I write this, there are spots landing on my phone. However, the canopy is giving us shelter. Great spot for the cache! And yay for geocaching for bringing us here! TFTC + FP
#2659. I've never been up this track before, but with three eager young women with me who were keen to explore the bush a bit, we set off from my orchard at Manakau. This cache was a nice easy find and for one of my 3, Juliinga from Germany, her first find! The other 2, Sophie & Livia helped in the search.Tftc tmann421.
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. I started off well, but had a glitch in the middle which has left me behind my target. Today I was aiming for 30 finds (I got 28) by walking up here. I had ascended the Te Au Track from Huia Street, and been to the left as far as I could go. Then I went to the right, and now I am coming down. I am pleased this descension is not as steep as the other track as everything is a bit slippery now after light rain for the last hour or so. Slow and steady got me there on the trail and with finding the geocaches.---Thanks to tmann421 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge

Out and about on an Adventuring day. Thanks for a lovely walk. Perfect weather for it. TFTC
Took me a little while to find the cache as my coordinates were off by quite a bit. After reading and rereading the hint, I eventually found the right spot.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Mānawatia a Matariki! Decided to check out Hemi Matenga reserve for the first time on a beautiful sunny Friday.
Lots of trees and lots of rocks were investigated until I spotted the cache. Log nice and dry. TFTC

Another cracking day in this very unseasonal June, so off we headed (with Mumma muggle in tow) for a walk around the Kohekohe loop.
Quick find as per description.
Thanks!

I needed a bunch of caches today, to give me a chance at the hard level of this month's challenge. The first find of the day, and exactly where and as described. TFTC tmann421 for placing this cache, number 12595 for me.
If you were wondering why Kapiti seemed so deserted today it's because everyone is up Hemi Matenga track. Why though? Is Coastlands closed or something? I've never seen so many muggles. Why would anyone stroll off into the bush if not to find a geocache?
I'm wondering why we didn't attempt this one when we did the rest of the loop back in 2014? We were pretty green back then so will just chalk that up to inexperience.
Anyways.... arrived at GZ today and straight away spied a spot with great potential however had to wait for a muggle mum and her muggle spawn to depart the area before I could confirm my hunch.
All good here. TNLNSL Thanks tmann421

Driven down to Waikanae to attend tmann’s community event this morning. Spent the rest of the day caching in the area. Rained on and off before finally clearing up in the evening. Managed two swims, one in the river and one in the sea. Found 28 caches and 1 DNF.
Stopped for lunch nearby then had a bit more energy to do some walking. Amazing how quickly you are surrounded by native bush despite being so close to town. No muggles about. Too wet. Specific hint made for a quick find. Cache and log all fine. Thanks tmann for the smiley

Up here for a walk and hunt with Very Melanie. What an amazing spot! Such a beautiful walk. As usual we forgot our bloody pen so we will complete the loop and find the rest but can't sign any, D'oh. Great hide, we got a fright from the caches protector
Quick find following hint rather than coords. Nice chatty stream. Last of this trail — which is just as well as the sun’s almost down: from Huia Street entrance up up up to the ridgeline, out north & back, then finishing the loop and exiting Tui Crescent. 23 finds, 2 DNFs, 1 unsolvable; 6 hours, 15 ㎞, 20,000 steps, 260 floors
TFTC what a great find thank you found with Satanspawn and Tangitutu... fresh new log sheet
Nice quick find, glad I didn't look in there before grabbing the container. Log sheet is very damp, not surprising after all all rain we've had recently. TFTC
Nice quick find, although the cache seems to have developed a bug! All good, tftc!
Extracted just before got muggled. Nice walk. Nearly down now. Time for a drink.
After camping nearby last night my plan was to explore this reserve for the first time, check out the amazing views from the tops and grab some caches along the way. Naturally I woke to heavy rain warnings for the area and thick, grey cloud. At least that all meant the GZ was quiet, making for a quick grab. Amazing bit of forest through here and surprisingly different from the nearby Wairarapa Tararuas. TFTC
Neat hide- I was thinking “oh no!” When I spotted the lid out on its own but then found the hide and all is well! Double container Put everything back in order. It’s been a while since I’ve been up this way and I’d forgotten how lovely it is. Wondering if I’ll be thinking the same thing the higher I climb but we’ll see! Many thanks
A simple find, not so simple to avoid muggles on this route. Love the cache guardian. Tftc!
We liked the camouflage on this one, it gave one of the microcachers quite a shock! The first of six for us today.
Thanks to the creator of this geocache. It was our first find. This is a nice easy one to find with kids.
GPS was unhelpful but after hunting around the possibilities covered by the hint it didn't take too long to spot the hide. GPS was reading 3 metres away by then so not too bad.
A few muggles, some with doggles were enjoying a walk in the warm weather but all quiet when I was doing the cache. Appropriate item that belongs on the cache! ️
TFTC. Gets a FP.

Beautiful Sunday afternoon outdoors. Our on a walk with new geocachers. First find of the day. Easily located and all in order TFTC
A big mission to the Manawatu day today, picking up a variety of cache types for an internet-based challenge.
I passed by this one on the way up to the letterbox, and made short work of the find on the way back down. A little surprised by the guardian. All good here. TFTC

Found that easily.
Easy spot even for an old geocacher!
A beautiful day in the forest.
Thanks

Couldn't find this one on my way up the hill. It was a little lighter on the way back down and I soon found it after another search.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On my annual pilgrimage to Te Horo today with a couple of hours in hand to find a few caches.
Heading to do the Kohekohe walkway but this one was in the way so I thought that I better find it first. A very quick find and sign.

One of seven caches found in the Waikanae area this afternoon. Located this one quickly, our first one on this very pleasant loop walk. #1927. TFTC.
First find on an afternoon walk to get the caches on this side of the loop track. Previously we went the "wrong way around" which was a heck of a lot steeper than today's walk.
Even with a GPSR we ended up overshooting most of the caches on the track and then doubling back once we let it settle down a bit. Initially the GPS was indicating 30 metres away so we relied on the hint and then of course once we had signed the log the GPS gave us a +/- 2 metre reading. as it had had time to settle down.

We were so focused on the first cache on the Kohekohe walkway which we were doing, that we almost missed this one! Nice hide with beautiful surroundings. Swapped swag. TFTC.
As I was walking up the track I saw a couple of people sitting on the seat. Thought I was going to have to come back for this one but by the time I arrived at GZ they had moved on
Nice hide

Thanks Tmann421 for placing all these caches!
It's been a few years since I last came up here... long before I found out about Geocaching!
