Oh! What a view! Nice find after our adventure day! What a great way to finish! TFTC
Initially transposed the northings but quickly realised I was in the wrong place; rechecked and saw the mistake and it was then a quick find - luckily the workmen hadn't arrived yet!
I was in Wanganui this weekend, and before I began my drive back home to Wellington today, as I usually do, I looked at the map to see what Geocaches I might like to find along the way. I noticed that this 'north-west 'quadrant' of the Kapiti region only had four caches left in it that I had not yet found (and one of them was a DNF), so I decided that would be todays plan. The cache was the last one on the list, and it was the previous DNF.Yes! DNF avenged. Last time I was here, just a few weeks ago, I had just spent several hours walking the ridgeline and that walk finished in the rain. By the time I got down here I was tired and wet. Today, I was not. I walked into the search area in the exact same spot that I did a few weeks ago, and the very first thing I saw was what the cache hint is refering to. It couldn't have been clearer if it had a giant neon sign abouve it saying 'there is a cache hidden here'. I have no idea how I could not see that last time, one of the greatr mysteries of the universe. The cache was found, safe and well, exactly where it should be.---Thanks to tmann421 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
I had ascended the Te Au Track from Huia Street, been to the left, and to the right, and then descended to the Hemi Matenga Scenic Reserve. And this was to be my last find of the day, but instead it was my first and only DNF. My own personal curse of the multi continues.I was pretty tired by this point, so had to check and recheck my numbers multiple times, but I'm pretty sure I did it all right. The area the coordinates took me to had rocks, but no corners. I checked everything that seemed plausible, although I was aware of the people over the fence being aware I was there so did not spend as long there as I usually might.I will return another day.
Out and about on an Adventuring day. Pretty amazed how you squashed this one in here. Nice camo. TFTC
Mānawatia a Matariki! Decided to check out Hemi Matenga reserve for the first time on a beautiful sunny Friday.
I gathered the info and quickly found the well hidden cache. Log and rest of container wr is nice and dry. TFTC

Another cracking day in this very unseasonal June, so off we headed (with Mumma muggle in tow) for a walk around the Kohekohe loop. We were checking out the descriptions and location of each cache from the previous one before racing each other to find from memory.
We took a mental note of these numbers (incorrectly as it would turn out) as we walked past, so we could work out the coordinates whilst we waited for the matriarch to catch up after each cache (she likes to stop and smell the flowers, and take photos of them, and the fungi, and the ferns, and the orchids…). The coordinates we got were right in the middle of someone’s house / probably not correct then. A quick revisit and solve had us cache in hand in no time.
Thanks!

Driven down to Waikanae to attend tmann’s community event this morning. Spent the rest of the day caching in the area. Rained on and off before finally clearing up in the evening. Managed two swims, one in the river and one in the sea. Found 28 caches and 1 DNF.
Stopped for lunch nearby then had a bit more energy to do some walking. Amazing how quickly you are surrounded by native bush despite being so close to town. Enjoy g one straight forward multis. No problems finding this one. Cache and log all fine. Thanks tmann for the smiley

Thanks TMann for the nice multi. A quick solve with and then a wee bit of avoiding muggles before ducking in to grab the cache. TFTC. KTG
Thanks to KiwiKatieG for working this one out. My brain just couldn't function with it. A few mins after working out the co-ords we had the log book in hand and KiwiKatieG was signing while I was playing with the swag. TFTC
Easy parking at the co-ordinates and it didn't take me too long to work out the puzzle and make my way to GZ. I was a bit nervous at first because of all the foliage, but my desire to find the cache must be stronger than my fear of spiders, and I didn't see any spiderwebs, so all good. Cache exactly as per the hint. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. I'm really looking forward to returning and doing the walk.
Back out here while the weather holds to complete the small loop… though still stiff from the hill climb 2 days ago. Quick solve & find, thanks for the clear little multi tmann421!
Checked on cache, left a fresh container, log is pretty good and all the back of the sheet is unused so left it.
A nice quick puzzle to solve and then a easy cache to find. The hardest part was finding a way in. TFTC
First find on today’s adventure. Nice and dry here-the cache and me (for now anyway!)
Many thanks

First stop of the day (for caching at least) was this lovely quick multi. Only real challenge was finding a good entry point! Tftc
Checked on cache as been awhile since last find, it is in very good condition at original location.
Quick find once I thought about the clue. Owners of the house over the fence came out to say hello. Friendly but wondering what I was looking for. We talked about geocaching and they seemed positive and supportive. They were unaware of the cache, which has been there since before they moved in.
A big mission to the Manawatu day today, picking up a variety of cache types for an internet-based challenge.
Solved for the final coordinates while sitting in the car and then headed up to the letterbox. Came back down and headed for the GZ and soon spotted the container. I was a little confused with the dates in the logbook as the last few entries didn't have years, but now looking online I see that this hadn't been found for almost a year to the day, which seems strange given the other caches had been found more recently. Still good here. TFTC

Day 2 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. Today we traveled from Upper Hutt through the winding Akatarawa Rd up to Palmerston North. We managed the numbers no problem - what a happy coincidence out the placing of the letter C! We veered off track at only 2m to go but found the cache by using the hint at 7m. Then we waited in the bush while 3 unsuspecting woman passed us. We left a Rainbow Bead Tail in the cache. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
I was trying to find 11 different cache types today, so I decided to go for a walk up here since there were 3 different cache types on the track.
Obtaining the final coords was easy. Found the cache after a short search.
Thanks.

On my annual pilgrimage to Te Horo today with a couple of hours in hand to find a few caches.
Out to do the Kohekohe walkway but first this Multi required solving.
A short walk and a quick find.

Had this one on the backburner for a while as I had held it in reserve after solving it so I could use it for a multi cache challenge if needed, but I qualified with other caches so in the end I didn't need this one for that.
Today was a good day to come out here as the forecast (at least for during the day) was better than for Wellington and sure enough it was rather dismal when I left the city and reasonably pleasant though cloudy out here.
A quick find once I corrected a silly error I made in entering the solved coordinates which put me 30 metres out and would have meant a leap over into private property!
Good to see such a well stocked cache, especially for one this size.
No plans to go up into the Reserve today.
TFTC.

(# 4613). Had actually solved this one some time ago and as I was in the area today decided to retrieve this one. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Nice straightforward multi for the school holidays, the kids helped figure out the coordinates and located the cache, made a couple of swaps, thanks
The EtherClan are invading [@TwigNZ](http://coord.info/PRPHK6E)'s castle for the weekend with the aim of heading south to chase a World Turtle.
The first priority was pure numbers to count towards the souvenirs of the current promotion, and the second was a lonely (puzzle) cache that hadn't been found in 1000+ days.
With the puzzle solved, we set off on Saturday morning with Priority 2 set as the start of Priority 1.
We're caching our way back north now, but we had an offshoot for some caches near the beach at Pukerua Bay which caused the wheels fell off our P1 mission when EtherMaster6 asked if he could play for a bit.
It turned into a lot longer than a bit and it looks like the World Turtle souvenir is swimming out to sea without us, but the memories that the boys made skimming stones into the waves and searching for Mermaid's Purses are more important
We must be out-running the weather as it has started to dry up a bit (I'm pleased that we've left the driving wind behind!), which made this next batch of caches a lot more enjoyable.
Quick find after a simple solve.
A Tui serenaded us as we walked back to the car.

Great wee puzzle for our girls to solve. The start of some stunning walks! Swapped swag. TFTC.
My son and I had a great walk around the Hemi Matenga Reserve back in February, having started at the other end and working our way down to this end, but just before we managed to get to the last few caches the heavens had opened up and we had fled for the car. So I've been meaning to come back to clear up the last remaining few since then, and today turned out to be the day.
Driving towards the starting point, I was surprised at the number of cars already parked on the road, but still managed to find a spot not too far from where the information was. From there it was a simple matter to work our the co-ordinates for the final, and then a short walk later had us at GZ.
The cache itself was a nice easy find, and my lad kept a lookout whilst I signed the dry log on behalf of both of us before replacing it all exactly as found.
Thanks for giving us the excuse to come and explore this interesting reserve again.

Found this one a couple of weeks ago. It was such a nice walk that I returned to walk the KoheKohe track again today and noticed I hadn't logged this multi.
Walking with Tania this time we found a few more caches... we will definitely return one day to enjoy the longer tracks when we have more time

I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
After staying at Greytown and spending another day in the Wairarapa, it was time to head to The Hutt area.
Son number two got dropped off at the airport. Hubby got picked up.
I needed to get the Camper's clutch checked out at Miro Auto Repairs. Once we got the all clear it was time to continue our adventure. We are staying in Paraparaumu tonight.
I really liked this multi. A great way to start the walk.

Thanks. tmann421 for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5453 for me.
Completed at the end of my walk - at the start I found the wrong yellow numbers, which put me about a km away - glad I didn't try to go there!
For some reason I was in such a hurry to start the Kohekohe walk that I went straight past this cache. Returning to the car I did the maths and soon came up with a likely looking hiding place. Good one. TFTC .
Heading north out of Wellington, and stopped at this reserve to stretch the legs. It was just getting light as I left - early morning chill in the air, and I wanted to get moving to warm up, but delayed my start a few minutes to solve this multi. Easily solved and found a few minutes later - all in good condition. Thanks for the multi tmann421.
Fevalas and I spend 5 weeks at this beautiful country. We visit the North and the South Island.
Yesterday the weather was horrible, it was raining cats and Dogs. Today the weather is fine and we are going for a walk on our trip to the National Park Village.
It is as almost usal in NZ a short multi cache with a quick found. Everything is ok with box and logbook.
Thanks for the cache and best regards from Germany!

Instead of this being our first find it was our last, not understanding what we needed to do (not sure why we thought it to be hard) but once we had the coords I went for a quick walk while for dogs hung out in the shade, cache all in good order, thanks for the placement.

I did the research several hours ago so was prepared for this one when I got to it. Thankfully no doubling back today.
Thanks for a great series. It earned a number of well deserved Favourite Points.

16/02/17 - Thanks for the cache, we had a quick stop up to go and get the Letterbox hybrid up the track, quickly solved this one so we had something to do on the way in.
Thanks for the Multi!
Thanks for the Multi!
Nice and quick. Able to work out co-ords for final while sitting in car so stayed inconspicuous! Then a nice quick walk to the final which was found easily. I will be back to pick up the Hemi matenga caches when I have more time! TFTC
Nice multi to start things off before heading up the hill. Seemed to take me a while to work through it even though there were no problems. Quick find at the final. So many muggles today! TFTC.
Missed this on the way up, and then had to wait in the car for muggles to disappear so I could run and grab it. All good. Home for lunch now. 26 caches, 6 hours and about 18,000 steps. That was a lovely Saturday morning

I had planned to start my hike from the Huia Street entrance but I changed my mind when I saw the parking coordinates for both my planned multis were at Tui Crescent. I thought it less likely that I would to either backtrack or leave visiting finals for another trip.
No errors were made with working out were I needed to go and I made a quick find to get things under way for the day.

#2238. It was getting late in the day by this stage but I figured there was still enough time to do the Kohekohe Walk loop track. So parked the car in Kakariki Grove and headed off to the north. Saw there was a multi at the start of the track so decided to check it out to see if I could do it today. The description seemed very achievable so set about gathering the information and I solved it further up the path in a quiet spot. Plugged in the coordinates and I was not far from the GZ. A short stroll and I had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced cache as found. Thanks for the multi cache.
Nice easy one to start a loop walk of caches. All good. Many thanks for the cache.
Out for a long caching weekend with KiwiExplorer and JoshThePirate We did a lot of good caches, odd caches and some of them were just caches
But most important, we had a lot of fun and the weather was brilliant all the time! [^] Thanks for all the caches
The second multi for today and a nice start into the day

Out caching with Cache.Mike today. Who would have guessed that a walk uo a hill would be involved. Of course it would. A multi cache to warm us up and test our powers of caching observation. We passed with flying colours and soon continued up.

Nice quick solve of multi after completing the Kohekohe loop. Got to near game zone and spied a likely hiding spot from about 10m away. Didn't however spot the head high sawn off branch that managed to run straight into. Nice forehead graze now. Feeling a bit foolish quickly signed log and back to car. Thanks for the multi cache.
On the wy from Whanganui to Wellington we stopped for this beautiful bush walk. Thanks.
An encouraging start to a morning of geocaching on a lovely, sunny, winter's day. Extreme caution and patience was required, what a popular track this is. Thanks for placing a cache here, now it's onward and upward to find a few more.
Straightforward Multi and find, on the way down to Paraparaumu to pick up my daughter and son-in law (2wombles) and my grandson. Thanks for the cache.
Had a couple of days staying in Paraparaumu and manged to get quite a lot of caching time. Fair bucketing down for a good portion of both days - hence some very very short logs in an attempt to keep the logs as dry as possible! Thanks for the caches, neat area to cache in.
Our first find of the day - a long day around the Hemi Matenga Reserve with Dr_Bogan. A great day's caching!
Nice easy one for a start - just what we needed - pretty humid today.

Found during a Geocaching day out with Byraganon and Brendon. Quick, easy find. Tftc!
A nice simple little multi from tmann421 in yet another great little spot. Easily found GZ exactly as described in the hint which was handy as the tree cover was quite dense and my GPS seems to have a phobia of trees and likes to run around in little circles looking for a place to hide. SLTFTC
As briefly stated by Hamish.D, the hint did prove quite helpful for this cache as cellphone GPS' + trees = not a good time. Found it though, obviously, TFTC!
M5 Jnr and I briefly ducked out of a visit to my auntie who has just celebrated her 92nd birthday to nab this cache, it fit the bill perfectly as it was nice and quick. TFTC
I managed to trip myself up on a fallen tree branch as we neared the final. The MSP half heard a splat and then lots of laughter as I landed face down but with gps still safely in hand. The multi itself was a good straightforward find and a nice start to the short circuit. Tftc
Out and about today with tmann421 and Princess-Emily after the rain stopped. Nice easy find once co-ordinates sorted. TFTC tmann421
An unexpected trip to Wellywood was sprung on me today and with unknown timings to be met for my meeting I loaded a few key caches into the G P S in preparation for any impromptu caching opportunities. Parked at Waikanae for a Park and ride in with the other commuters after an early start on this cool and frosty day.
My meeting finished at lunch time and after a four from five success story in Wellington before the train departed it was back to Waikanae to make the most of being in a new-ish area with a few caches available to find. On the train on the way here I realised if all went to plan I would find my cache number 2300, an interesting symmetry with the C O finding one of mine for his 23000th, congratulations by the way.
I made this harder than I needed to work out the co ordinates but sorted myself out in the end and made the find, before heading round the nearby bush walk. This was my mile stone 100th Multi, thanks for that tmann421, my favourite cache type, along with Erath Ccache
Looking forward to the bush walk after a morning stuck in a meeting.......

Got the required information on an earlier expedition up the mountain, but because of rain we didn't stop and work it out. Today we managed to find this cache, an easy find and the start of the circular route of Kohekohe caches,

Quickly solved the puzzle and had a quick look. The area had been cleaned up and I couldn't find the cache. Had set a time limit as my main aim was to do the series on the big hill. Will try this one again when in the area.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
After spending Christmas with family in Wellington, we made our way slowly North again, driving as far as Wanganui and collecting a few caches along the way. Decided to leave the crawling traffic and stop by this reserve and find a few of the caches in here. Quickly worked out the location of the final and made a quick find there, TFTC!

We didn't start here, being the sort of back to front folks that we are we started at Kohekohe #5, so had enjoyed the loop walk to get to here, as well as knocking of the Kohekohe series of caches on the way.
Harvested the needed data and then off to GZ.
Some walkers who we said hello to as we came down, we later saw at the lookout and they were puzzled about why we had doubled back. All too much to explain really.
Once at GZ, a straightforward find on the cache.
Cache in order, log signed and then safely re-hidden, just as found.

Nice wee multi to start the series. Co-ords worked out to be spot on. Thanks for the checksum & clue! TFTM
Solved the puzzle easily enough and then spent quite a while searching 'not quite GZ'. There were several obvious hiding spots that matched the clue, but no cache. It wasn't until I had a look at the satellite imagery and referenced some nearby landmarks that I realised that GZ was about 8 meters away. Once at the real GZ, I spotted the cache straight away. I seem to have a knack of making things difficult for myself... TFTC.
Thought we'd be confused but once started quickly calc'd and found. Nice way to finish off. Oh, oops one more! NINO TFTC
ps - logging this now we're back home in Auckland - the speed of the broadband at the B&B was driving me crazy; not to mention we had to stand in the corner of the bathroom to stay connected...
