A nice drive along brilliant autumn-coloured country roads brought us to this castle. Upon arriving at the car park, we were unsure of the legality of entering due to the sign on the fence saying "unauthorised persons" were forbidden. So my partner walked to the nearby farmhouse, and a nice old lady there said it was fine. So we ate some lunch in the car while a rain shower passed over, then proceeded.
The sun came out and it was very pleasant exploring the castle ruins and sitting up on the grassy wall, enjoying the peaceful countryside. There was some confusion about which windows we were supposed to count, and whether the ruined gatehouse counted as a 'tower', but we figured it out and headed to GZ, just as ominous dark clouds were again rapidly advancing on us. Found the cache and made it into the car just as the hailstorm hit, but it was gone again within a few minutes and we replaced the cache in its spot. Thank you for this enjoyable multicache and greetings from Australia and the Netherlands!

found to day with Chris and Mikey, left Brian the snail we found earlier at Loch Easey and took Pooh Bear for our next adventure.
Had fun hunting around the castle. Got the gps coords first time and (eventually!!) found it TFTC!!
Beautiful ruins!
Before going on holiday to Ireland where I stayed with my family I had checked this area for some fitting geocaches. This was one of the two.
We didn't mind the drizzle and explored the ruins, figured out the answers easily and came to a coordinate which we thought was wrong. So we checked everything again and found the time capsule. When the cattle got into view we went back to the original spot and found the stash!
The stash contained an unofficial geocoin from Czech which we took back to Holland.
Love from the Netherlands!

WooHoo!
My first find in Ireland! Staying in Ballyhaunis from Michigan, USA for work for a couple of weeks. Had to get out to do some Geocaching! Hard to believe there are so few around here.
Wasn't sure about the windows, but when I solved the puzzle it was obvious that I had made a mistake and what that mistake was. GPSr still put me in the middle of an open area, but not too far from the actual GZ. Although I think I looked everywhere but there first!
A muggle associate of mine spotted the hiding place and another made the actual grab.

Well, the cows were in the field when we were there. Hiking boots would be recommended for this hunt. Between the uneven ground and the cow s**t, we finally decided to give in. We gave it one more shot and were successful! We feel we earned this smiley. Thanks, lemontops!
Great ruins and excellent views. Found the cache with N&C after some number crunching. Difficult to figure out the windows. tftc
In the area so decided to head over to this one and have an explore. Thankfully due to recent dry weather the going was dry and there was no cattle to contend with. As others have done we also accidentally found the time capsule and then spent some time working out the co-ords. The cache itself was a straightforward find. TFTC
Stopped to have a look around the old castle whilst passing today. After a bit of exploring to get the right numbers, we came a cross the time capsule, but didn't open or disturb it. After a bit of number crunching, we had a set of coords that looked promising and headed off to GZ for a nice quick find. Many thanks for showing us this castle and for the cache.
Found with BlonDee while in the area
Nice spot if somewhat muddy after recent bad weather

We found it difficult to conclude the clues and therefore get an accurate location. That and a very heavy storm which led to our retreat, so we didn't find it. However part of the fun was we did find a time capsule instead. We really enjoyed the beautiful ruin and location
Great ruin. Took a bit of trial and error but we eventually figured it out. Left a GC. Tftc
On our trip today we stopped also stoppen on this great spot. It's a little bit crazy, that the castle is now used for the bulls and kine, using the space as a cow paddock. But we managed to get into the castle without disturbing the cattle and so we could answer the questions. After that it was a fast find.
Many thanks for the cache and greetings from germany

TFTC. Fantastic ruin, never even knew was there. Simple find, eventually!!!!
????? Meant to be easy but not for us. Great spot so will return to try again.
What a big ruin! If you are interested at decayed buildings you could spend some hours here and explore it. But we had not much time and so we did only the solution for the final. As we did so, a motorbike came the way - and the driver was also hunting geocaches! So we searched together with "aivars-ku" for the container and after a quick search we found it!
Thank you for showing and greetings from Germany.

After doing the very cool Fort Cache nearby this was a nice follow up. Again I had to use algebra to check my guesses for X and Y but this time it seems I was right the first time
Another interesting ruin... the country is littered with these things! Shame so few survive today in their glory. They would have been an impressive sight in their day!
Found the cache no problems and it is in good order. Cheers from Australia!
