Nice little find with the kids after school. Tried to rally a bunch of Year 7 kids around GZ to help us look for the cache but they chose basketball instead. Found this one quickly by putting my hand on it first as a small skink poked his head out to say hello. nicely done and blended well. I can see how this is easily overlooked. Got in a few kicks of the soccer ball after. TFTC.
Really enjoyed this one so giving a favourite. Reckon some people get a bit carried away with camo but at least there was none at all. Tftc tnln
Fantastic cache, well camouflaged in a lovely spot! Took me a while to work out the clue, as there were a few candidates to look for, but after a little while i got it! Tftc
My job in Cherrybrook completed and the showers had stopped, time for a cache. Pleasant walk in and the sound of running water was relaxing. Got close and something was off straight away. Sure enough found signed and returned, with a bit more camo. TFTC
Always stick to your first instinct. Something we did not investigate thoroughly ended up being what we wanted. Sneaky. Tftc
It was a beautiful day to go cache hunting and do a bit of bush walking with ilook4geo, with it being mostly overcast and pleasantly cool. We had a successful hunt and signed each log. Thanks go to alfyboy for placing this cache.
This was a good find made together with goingplaces2. Log was retrieved and signed with both names. TFTC.
OCW morty8888 around Cherrybrook today. Took us, or morty8888, a few minutes to locate this clever cache. FP from me.
Thanks for placing this cache.
Thanks for placing this cache.
Heading inland and somehow avoiding the rain, Oldmorty and I headed to Cherrybrook. Last one for the day and this was a clever hide. Lots of hidden holes but soon grabbed the well made cache. TFTC!
1/4/21 this is my first geocache! i really like the hobby. im an indoor type of guy but i liked the scenery and it is hidden in a good spot with a great hint!

Finally I decided to take a small detour to find the Legend of Erlestoke. Once at the spot I realised I was here before, but that was in the middle of summer with a lot of tall grass. Now, approaching winter it was an easy walk down the hill and the cache was quickly found.

On my way to the northwest, I took a detour to find this cache. After looking in many hiding places, I investigated something more thoroughly, and came away with a find.

An after work cache for me today.
I was able to find the track down the hill and past the brush turkey to get to the GZ.
After getting near the clue i spotted something and came away with the cache in the first place i looked.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

Random decision for a quick find whilst walking the dog. Great hide! Very clever thank you.
We were in the area and decided to grab a quick cache on the way home. Parked on Erlestoke Place and walked in. There were many muggles in the park due to public holidays. We went down a well worn path which was very slippery and got to a drop off I had to jump down. Found the hinted landmark and after a few minutes had cache in hand. Very clever! This is a simple trick that adds some difficulty. TFTC!

Companions: None
Muggles: Some kids near the creek
Weather: Fair spring afternoon
Cache condition: Good
I had spent the day at Castle Hill RSL for a First Aid course, and decided to find some caches on the way home to unwind. There were quite a few muggles on the field, and also some down near the creek, but they were in audible rather than optical range so didn't notice me. I was a bit cautious about creepy crawlys (even with my new first-aid skills), but I didn't see any, and soon had CIH. TNLNSL, TFTC

I was heading up towards Trevor's Lane trail at the northern end of Cherrybrook, and my route led me past here. This cache has been on my radar rather a long time, but I don't usually come this way, so it's been just that niggling spot on my map. This morning I decided to give it a go, though I noted it might not be a quick find.
When I arrived on my bicycle I first noticed all the muggles in the park. It was teeming with people: two men doing tai chi, some walkers, people walking dogs, some little kids on the playground, and a large group of people congregated under the gazebo. I also noted that the cache wasn't right up there where all the commotion was, so I free-wheeled down the slope again and noticed a little trail heading more or less in the direction my compass was pointing. Thus, I opted to approach GZ from below by the creek instead of from above.
The bicycle couldn't go all the way, so it remained propped up against a tree near the path, and I proceeded into the undergrowth towards GZ. I saw the hint as my unit beeped to let me know I was close; and I also saw all the potential hiding spots: trees, rocks, grass. I'm really not fond of micros hidden in the bush, so my heart sank a bit at the prospect of an unfruitful search ahead.
I checked a few spots but saw nothing. Then I checked somewhere else, saw the potential for a hide, but wasn't sure I wanted to scratch around there. Luckily, I also noticed something odd and I wondered how that had got there. I actually had other intentions for it, and when I poked around I made a surprise discovery. Haha, great hide. Even though part of my brain was saying something was out of place, the other part of my noggin wasn't listening. Good thing I had done what I had, thus making the find.
All is well with the cache. I was really pleased to have made a quick find so that I could get back to my intended cycle and not leave with a blue frown.

️️ Fine, cloudy, getting on for twilight, 15C howling wind-chill
Normally plague muggles in this park, but the weather and time cleared 'em out
︎ Nil Grabbed
︎ Nil Dropped
No critters or hazards
Cache in good condition
A quick dash and cache from home. Not sure why we'd left it so long to do this one, but it sprang up in our "Mystery" filters so off we went for it. Fab fun with the camo. TNLN SL TFTC

Excellent cache!! I took the slope down, wasn’t tooo bad however definitely should have worn different shoes! Took me a while to locate the cache once at GZ however once I had it in hand I had a laugh. Fantastic! Also another clue for the Mystery at the Museum, yay! TFTC
I loved getting to this cache. I didnt take the popular slope, I climbed my way through the bushes and over fallen tree stumps and I've never felt more like Lara Croft. I love containers of this type, I loved the T3 and my flashlight helped me have CIH very quickly. Thank you
Gps lead us on a wild goose chase before we could make a finad. Cool camo.

Tftc. good hide. lots of paces to look and search . need a steady footing. finally found the camo and the Cache after passing it a few times.
Micros are always a bit more difficult and funny readings on the GPS don't help. But, thanks to the clue I finally got this one. TFTC.
There was a very big party being held in the park with at least 50 people and leaving almost no parking outside. We walked around them and were soon above GZ. I went down carefully but it was not too bad as it had mainly dried out since the rain. A quick check in the usual places showed me something odd, and it proved to be the cache. Thanks alfyboy for a great hide in this busy park.
Bit of an adventure getting to the cache crossing swamps, creeks and rocks! Not too hard to find, the hint helped, and once at GZ, the find was pretty quick. Lovely park, TFTC
Tftc, need to fill in an unfound day and needed to take the kid with cabin fever to a park, two birds with one stone!!
While muggle wife distracted the kid I snuck down the hill. Read some logs and looked for a thing. Turns out I should have looked for a different thing. Very clever.

In the area today for lunch when I'm the judge tasting my cooking guru friends latest creations so I decided to come over here for today's find to keep my streak going.
I had looked here once last year only to read that the cache was MIA.
I parked at the end of Woodlark Place and walked across. I could see the park was quite busy as its school holidays but all the kid muggles were well occupied and their adult carers who weren't playing with them were well and truly occupied with their i devices so no bothered that I disappeared down the escarpment. Just as well I hadn't fallen!
The cache was a quick find.

I was in the area for a long sought out challenge cache, and still had plenty of time to find more caches before the long drive home.
This is the second of two cache nemesis in this area that i have finally found and can now forget about.

This one has been on my list for a while and finally had a chance to look for it while the geokids were riding their bikes around the park. My GPS was a bit all over the place but did a quick recalibration did the trick.
Great camouflage - I had the cache in hand without realising it!

Wet, wet, wet. Don't want to go far, but don't want to get too wet either. So make the illogical desision to go for a previous DNF - having noted it's been replaced. One with a bit of a scramble...
Got to the park and there is still a father and sons playing basketball. And it's sprinkling - so grabbed the umbrella.
Spot still looks familiar, and I very carefully get to GZ - really don't want to slip.
And...
Found it within 30 seconds! Well, that was unexpected.
Completed signing duties and replaced - and did my best to keep the log dry in the misty rain.
DNF Expunged!
Now if I can only find *The Shepherds Village*. But not today.
Time to swim home!

Stopped off on my way back home from the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at Quarry Road Dural, to find this one. It had been a fun filled morning of HAM radio junk scrounging, and a nice BBQ lunch with lots of friendly chit chat, but now it was time for me to get myself off to work, but couldn't resist grabbing a few more caches before jumping on the motorway. This was the 2nd of 4 finds for the day.
It has been over 2 years since I DNFed this one, and I had been resisting a revisit due to the large numbers of DNFs despite a Maintenance log saying it had been replaced, but then there was lots of finds after a more recent second cache replacement. So I thought it was now time for a revisit, parking the geomobile in Chiswick Place and then following the pathway to GZ.
Wow GZ certainly has changed since I was last here, with massive vegetation clearing evident in the area around GZ, which was now looking much more exposed. And, in stark contrast to last time, I put my hands on the cache in the very first place I checked. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC alfyboy.

Sure looks like a lot of trees have fallen in this area. Unable to find the cache so have replaced, in much the same way as the original with camo. GZ is the tree coming out of the rocks. Back in play. Enjoy.
Located at 6:22pm. 841 days unloved!!!! Most satisfying find yet! Last week I found two unloved caches on the same day and accrued 21 months unloved. Today I was quickly glossing over some Cherrybrook dnfs I wanted to avenge when I saw this cache had been enabled. I did a quadruple take when calculating the number of days unloved and dropped everything to race out for it. I’m not able to race out much for FTFs owing to full time work and studies but when an unloved opportunity like this comes a knocking, I’ll do my darndest, no matter the mishiver I am in. Anyways, many thanks to Alfyboy for re-enabling this cache. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!

I don't have a good conversion rate on this CO's caches but having found my daily cache, I thought I would have a look to see for myself. It's been a few months since the latest replacement and it looks like 2 large branches have fallen in the area of GZ since then making it difficult to search. Even with good intel from a previous finder, I left empty handed.

Thanx for the reminder pavacado . Cache replaced and active again. Sorry for the delay. Simply forgot to enable and update cache. Happy hunting.
This cache has not been found in 1 1/2 years. Co needs to check this cache or Archive it.
This one gives this cache a full year of DNFs. I had geoson on hand and we both gave the wall a good going over.
I managed to DNF three Alfyboy caches this afternoon - but it wasn't all bad there were some pleasant walks and places to look in. And the weather was superb! A great day for three Lost Causes. And it is never a waste of time as now I feel I have earned the right to ask for assistance.
Lost Cache - having been here before I had some info but it didn't get me over the line. Think I will need something very specific to help me out here. Spent about 30 mins, but all those little places were empty to my sight.
Legend of Erlestoke - so many caverns - dug deep but the treasure eluded me once again. Another 30 mins and nice to be in the shade.
The Shepherds Village - nice little spot - read a few logs - maybe I should have brought the billy?
Thanks for the tour of Cherrybrook Alfyboy, I will be in touch!

Brought the geo-son to a soccer-themed birthday party at Erlestoke Park and discovered that I was only 30m away from GZ. Not wanting to seem dodgy, I walked some distance away and made an approach away from judging eyes. I had a quick look around but just didn't feel like it was an appropriate time to conduct a full-blown search. Will return when I have more time (and less chance of being "sprung" by curious muggles".
Had some new ideas today but none of them paid off. In excitement clicked the wrong button.
Today I was doing a run out to VK2WI, the official broadcast station of Amateur Radio NSW (HAM radio) at Quarry Road Dural, and thought I would pick up a few caches along the way. Stopped off on the way back home for this one.
Searched for a short while, but really needed to get on my way, so will have a better look next time I'm out this way. TFTH anyway.

Hmmm, slippery here after the few spits that we had. Had a bit of a scrounge around, nothing, walked back to the top, had a read, went back again, avoided the inch long bull ant but lost track of him in the leaf litter so bailed after some more poking and prodding.
I attempted this one a few days ago. It would have been a good idea to read the description. I approached the cache by walking along one of the fallen trees crossing the river. Not the safest way, but probably the most fun.
Once I got to GZ I saw that the cache was a micro and there were a million potential spots. I systematically checked everywhere multiple times and had no luck. My second Alfyboy DNF for the day.

Decided to head north today for a few bush caches. Initially intended to walk the final three caches, but with reports of storms on the Central Coast (which never got here, thankfully) I drove to two of them and only did a 1.4km round trip to the final find.
Then I rounded out the day with a DNF on the way home.

Stopped by here having DNFed the nearby Wood it be here? a week or so ago.
Checked a number of spots, using the odd tool to aid in the search, but nothing spotted. 30 minutes later I gave it up and headed home.

Coming back near the area this afternoon and seeing this was back on line it was time to have a go. Park on the east side as that's what the car GPSr said and headed over. Started up the creek and soon rethought so up to the oval and down from above as probably was not dressed for a bush bash. We soon saw what was ahead of us and thought which of the CO other hides might this be. Plenty of spots and the GPSr accuracy when from 4m to 10m so time to go on geosences. Plently of signs where others have been but we worked our way up down, around, under etc. Thought about a PAF but searched a little more and made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Yeap the school holidays continue and we needed somewhere for a playdate so I suggested this park just so I could come back and find this cache!
After spending a fair amount of time, I finally decided to stop hunting and start looking. And now I have a ridiculous sense of satisfaction and am sure that the entire park heard me go yippee! So now I'm going back to boys on bikes.
Found it. Trouvé. ????

Beautiful winter day and school holidays so we joined the masses of people at Erlestoke Park. Had a good hunt around but couldn't find the cache. But we did see some huntsman spiders and a bush turkey! We'll see back....
No luck here today. Spent about 30 minutes searching before u had to leave.

27/5/15. 12:11 PM. Cache #2538. Streak day #339.
After finding the CO's sneaky "Park Rules", I wondered what my luck would be like at this one, given I haven't tried it before and many before me have taken multiple attempts and/or a long time to find it. Parked at the end of Erlestoke Pl and there were a few muggles around the playground. I sat at one of the tables, read the description and hint carefully and then descended to GZ.
So many places to look around, up, down, in and under and as MC says, the evidence of past searches is obvious. But I either had luck or good cache sense on my side today as I was able to make the find without taking too long, and pleased not to need to ask for any help. Now can I make it 3 from 3 at "Wood it be here?". TFTC.

Had found a cache today so streak intact. Was hoping to write " looked for half an hour then placed my hand on something that turned out to be the cache" but that fantasy didn't happen. Back another time.
Lovely evening stroll to the playground after the heat of the day. Spent over 20 minutes hunting high & low but to no avail
Admittedly I was a little half hearted as xsmalls in the bush always seem to elude me! Might try again another time with a second pair of eyes.
Went for a walk and thanx to SecretMi55ion, found indeed the cache to be MIA. Have replaced. All good to go again.
Previous finder sent me pictures of no cache, so disabling till I can get back to have a look.
Looks like this cache is missing, found the broken camo, but no cache. I have found this before, so know what im looking for CO please check.
Took a while... wasn't sure if i was at the right spot... but persistence paid off. TFTC!
DF spotted a tree that matched the description but my GPS pointed to another one. I sat down looking for inspiration from previous logs when DF calls out that he found it. Sneaky hide! TFTC.
after first being discouraged by the site of a man having a coffee and cigarette then failing at wood. I in natural beebeejaybee style took the longest way round shimmying across a fallen tree and searching and searching whilst cursing micros in the bush while planning to seriously adjust my pocket query I discovered the cache, only to realise I'd left my pen in the car. a quick dash back across the park I returned pen in hand, re-found the cache and signed the log, fantastically clever hide
Very cunning indeed, found on our third attempt. A nice way to finish fathers day with my son. Finally cracked an alfyboy TFTC
Found tree with ease. Only issue was my eyes didnt wanna locate cache. Will be back
Very cool hide alfyboy! Took me two go's to find it. All up close to an hour. So glad I persisted!!! I'm impressed and surprised that I was so close and yet so far away!!!
Looked for half an hour looked and looked couldn't find zilch. Muggle kids running everywhere down here , alfyboy difficult cache i stupidly thought local knowledge would help but nearly braking my neck 3 times i gave up. I'll be back when my foot is not broken
