Didn’t read the activity log until after we’d found all the clues and the location. Arrghh!!!!!

Got the coordinates sorted, but no sign of a cache. I'll try again next time I'm in the area

Out caching in Marrickville today with the goal of collecting 3 mysteries. This was the second cache we attempted this morning.

We had a nice stroll around the oval collecting the required info. Most of the numbers were straight forward, only one was a bit iffy. Crunching the numbers produced a likely, and very close by GZ. With the park busy, some stealthy searching was required. Looking in the likely places did not reveal the cache so I decided to go in search of another cache while I thought I little more about this. Thinking a little more about GZ and the name I had a better idea of what the hide type might be but before I got a chance to look further I could hear the frog croaking and it was off to hunt down an FTF...we will be back.....

15-Sep-17
couldn't locate cache at GZ. Maybe next time.

15-Sep-17
Unfortunately, I didn't find this mystery with my mate ahpTDK. Had figured out the proper coordinates but after going to the new location and spending half an hour looking, we were getting a bit frustrated. Then I roll my ankle and that ends the search for the cache. TFTH, will try some other time.

15-Jun-17
Having just found the other puzzle in this park, I had to go for this before I headed home. So with all the numbers in hand, the calculations were done and the final coords solved. A stroll to near where I parked and I spotted the camo in the first place I looked. Using the hint, I quickly unravelled the log and added my name to the list. A neat little multi with a good hand-made camo at the end. And now the title all makes sense. TFTC.

12-Jun-17
I was going to be nearby Marrickville Park today so gathered the required information easily enough to solve the puzzle and obtain the final coordinates. Then came the harder part - actually finding the cache.
The gps led me to a likely hiding area but a search around revealed nothing. Then I widened the search area a bit, but still found nothing. So then I went a bit deeper and saw something odd, but still didn't realise it was the cache. Checked the hint again and then suddenly it was in my hand. Signed the log and returned it all as found. What a clever crafty container! TFTC Cool

Found with ZimbaW and our geopooches. I had actually attempted this one once before in my lunch break when I had a course at Petersham. Who knows what I did wrong then but with ZimbaW on the case this time I was very happy to tick this one off finally. Cheers Bells Angels Smile

F(H)ound It! #1705 - @12:16:00 PM

Visiting Sydney from Queanbeyan and spending some time caching with Miz Wacket and her geohound. We really enjoyed our stroll around the park. We quickly collected the necessary clues, sat down in the itchy grass in the shade and did the sums. Coordinates looked pretty reasonable but we nearly gave up. Then I saw something and YAAY! we got it. Thanks for the terrific cache, Bells Angels.

Came to try my luck at the nearby puzzle, but looks like it's still out of bounds. Did the lap to collect clues. Was a bit unsure about about the number of light bulbs but it turned out fine. I ended up a long way from the calculated GZ but very close to where I parked, so ended up driving there. Took a while for the iPhone to settle but then it pointed to a likely spot. No sign of what previous logs mentioned but there was a dead bird right next to the cache. Very sneaky. SL and replaced.

Finally after a DNF 5 months ago I was back in the area. Didn't have the co-ords with me today but knew I wasn't far away last time.
Decided to try my luck and go from memory and within a few seconds I had this cleverly hidden cache in hand. I enjoyed seeing the park although now it looks like it will be even better. Seems the renovations at nearly finished. Luckily I was able to access the cache no problem.
TFTC in a park I'd never visited before

Addit to my last log. Be careful at GZ. I've just found the human excrement mentioned in the log before mine on my shoe!

23-Aug-16
Tried this one today, and evince confirmed my coordinates but I couldn't spot anything that matched the hint today. All the work means the walk is a bit longer as well, I would suggest starting with the tennis courts, then the birds, then the croquet waypoints.

Unfortunately at GZ there were a couple of piles of what appeared to be human excrement to trad carefully while searching. Thanks anyway Bells Angels, it was a nice stroll.

21-May-16
100th find, easy working out coords but quite tricky finding the geo. Was about to leave when we came across this one.

15-May-16
Solved and found with Coybear2000. We noticed that a lot of this area is closed off to the public and that work is being carried out. However, we were able to get all the necessary info to solve the puzzle and then we went for the find. Soon had CIH when at GZ. TFTC

15-May-16
Out with Trodectus. Arrived at WPs and gathered info. Quickly had set of co-ords and headed to GZ, let T do the dirty work and retrieve cache. Signed log and replaced. TFTC

OMG I can't believe I had so much trouble with this one today. Started by missing the birds completely and assuming there were none. Didn't take long to realise when evince kept telling me I was wrong. Then got locked out of evince checker. Worked out where the sculpture was and plugged in the coords as couldn't check evince.
By now the light was fading fast and I searched with the light of my phone. I got a few strange looks but carried on regardless. It was only found a couple of days ago so I'm sure it is there but nearby there is a very recently dug/ dumped pile of soil with 2 marbles and a broken piece of blue plastic with a magnet on the back and a W or M on the front. Hope this is not part of the cache. I have a photo if the co wants to see it but I'm not convinced.
Now I'm home and rechecked the maths, I see I mistook the minus for a plus. My GZ was out by a couple of metres:(.
I did have a good look around but maybe not expanding my search far enough taking into account my stupid error.
So for a simple puzzle, I made a complete meal of it and dnf'd it. At least I can go straight to it next time in in the area and look again.

I was out having a walk around the neighbourhood for the first time to see the sights of Summer Hill, Lewisham, Marrickville and surrounding areas. Perfect weather for walking and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of pass and other public facilities that I encountered on my journey. No problems gathering the final coords but finding this cache was quite difficult. I had an idea of what I needed to look for, but it was only when I looked more thoroughly that I eventually discovered it. Unfortunately, there was no croquet happening today, which was surprising as the weather was perfect for it. Tftc Bells Angels

Nice multi puzzle worked out after I ventured around to all the WP's to gather the required info. I did admire the lovely grassed tennis courts named after Australia's great players although they were not in use at the time. After doing the maths, made my way to GZ for a beaut camouflaged find, it certainly is a true Jack in the Box so to speak, TFTC Smile

While Mrs RoddyC is MYOB - Training a client, I get to go caching!

So I chose this little Multi as a starting point. I was able to locate all the numbers from the comfort of the GeoFalcon before actually venturing out to locate the cache. Once the compass settled I sat down to think about the location and the hint. I turned around and saw something not out of place, but familiar in situations like this. Upon further investigation, a pleasant surprise greeted me. Ha!

Found at 11.00am on 23rd December 2015. TFTC.

19:15 Stopped briefly at the tennis club to recharge my phone; a friendly member was surprised that I'd noticed their lawn courts - they are very proud to be one of only a few clubs left to have them.
I failed the final check several times, and had to climb the fence to find that there was an entire bulb hidden from my sight. Then the GPS refused to settle down. Then someone came over and basically sat in the search area. Thankfully he left, and after nearly sitting on ALL THE ANTS, I finally found something. Hesitant, I eventually found that the entire contraption could be lifted out, and did so. I was greeted by a very enthusiastic cache! Great container!

I was in the area catching up with family for a celebration and it was time for me to head back to Canberra.

Saw this one was nice and close so thought I'd give it a go. Easily worked out the numbers for the coords and with a happy evince, off I went to GZ.

Saw the cache straight away and had a little chuckle to myself-the cache name now made sense! Made the quick retrieve, sign and replace and I was off back to the car.

Thanks for the hide, Bells Angels Smile Boinnnnng!! [:O)]

#1534. (1 of 2) today

I picked up the clues for this cache when I was collecting a few smilies recently. I must say the light bulbs isn't easy to work out in the daytime...

But with three out of four it wasn't too hard to get the right numbers, and with the go ahead from Evince, grabbing this on the way to today's World Cup match between the Windies & South Africans was a no brainer.

Parked nearby and walked to GZ and immediately spotted something worthy of closer inspection.

Aah, that explains that. CIH!

Took a short distance to complete signing duties and replaced.
Did my CITO duty as well by removing a bag of empty beer bottles from next to the cache.

A fun little puzzle. Now should I take up croquet?

So what's a girl to do when she's deposited #1 geokid at first day of high school and because it's such a short day there's no point going home? Find some local caches of course.

Even though it had been raining on and off all day, I chanced going out to collect the info I needed with an umbrella in hand but it ended up being more of an anchor when taking notes. Collected all data (it's been a while since I last saw lawn courts) but I think I got something a bit skewy as my results appeared out of the park. My caching senses suggested a logical spot based on the bits I did get correct and I was pleased to have the CIH before the next downpour. Log is full but if the reverse is used it should last a while yet.

This evening Amy the geodog and I set out on the mother of all geowalkies, the longest one Amy has ever done. Over three hours, we covered 15km in joining the dots between 8 geocaches and home, bookended the trip with two superb Bells Angels caches and managed to appease the DNF spirits sufficiently that they didn't waylay us.

This was cache #8. Amy and I wandered about getting the various pieces of information, and then just as I was about to start the (easy) calculations, it started to rain, so I moved a short distance to the cover of a tree to complete them. Still there, I threw the answer into Google Maps as an initial check and was surprised to see that the plot was almost on top of my position. I looked to my left, and, I kid you not, gentle reader, there was the cache about 5m away! As with other BA caches, when you see them and think, you know 'em. That's not even to mention the fun of opening it! Thanks, Bells Angels!

Had bussed into the inner west on a FTF that was unfortunately aborted due to muggle activity. While disappointed, I decided to make the most of my trip and find a few other nearby caches. Thankfully this puzzle was relatively easy to complete, the sun was warm and the sky clear blue without a cloud in sight. Having visited each waypoint and gathered what I thought were the answers, I did some quick calculations and came up with a plausible location. I'm never too confident with these types of multis so I was just about to plug in the coords to the geochecker when I spied the tell-tale sign of a classic Bells Angels hide from a short distance. Great work, shame the CO is no longer very active. SL TFTC Bells Angels! Smile

What a clever piece of camo, arrived before the rain and parked just down the road near the bird sculpture.
Counted the birds, croquet courts, then lights and walked the long way around to tennis courts, which they all look the same but I have a number.
Sat down and did the maths then proceeded to GZ. I saw the obvious straight away and then investigated to have CIH.
Giving it a fav too, thanks BA

Found at 5:09pm. After knocking off work I thought I would attempt my FIRST puzzle. I did note however that it was more of a multi in nature. I drive past here everyday to and from my way to work but have never set foot onto the park.

Parked about 100m from the birds so I started at that point and leisurely made my lap around the park. I had to apply some guesswork when I was at the tennis courts also as I couldn't quite make out what its surface was made of.

After getting all the numbers together, I did my calcs in the car which brought up a familiar spot. This spot had crossed my mind as a good place for a cache when I walked past originally. The irony.

Anyhow, made my way over to GZ and made the find. A neat container and finally the name of the cache made sense.

I was unexpectedly in Marrickville this afternoon, performing taxi duties, and had a bit of time to kill so I decided to come to this pleasant park to check out the caches hidden here. I had a quick look at the other mystery but the solution didn’t jump out at me so I put it aside and concentrated on this one.

I enjoyed my stroll around the very busy park picking up the required information then found a quiet seat and made my calculations. I was pretty sure I had the correct numbers so I didn’t bother Evince and soon had CIH.

Nice multi, err… puzzle, and great container, it deserves a favourite. Thanks Bells Angels.

Geokid8 had played a soccer match nearby, so afterwards we headed over here for a bit of recovery-caching, and to prepare ourselves for the long drive home. We walked around the pleasant park, enjoying the warm weather, and picking up the necessary information. We debated 2 of the 4 entries, but when it came to calculating the co-ords found that only one answer would work for each, so got a confirmation on the first go. We headed the 25m across to GZ, and after a quick look spotted a likely home for a container. Nice work. TFTC!

Having found the Christmas cache down the road and then a forgotten Aussie I didnt want to leave it there when I knew there was a puzzle from the same CO just up the road. So I parked a bit further up and continued around the oval collecting clues. Lights were straightforward and the birds revealed themselves nicely. The only possible confusion was with the tennis courts - none had nets and some didn't have posts so I just figured that I should count them all anyway hich turned out to be right because with the calculated co-ords I found myself next to a caching trail which led to - nothing? A micro in this lot? OK so I looked around a bit and eventually found something likely, yes it is, a real jack in the box!

On a hot and windy afternoon I had to drop mum in Ashfield so came a little farther a field (see what I did there) to do a cache that takes a little while as I had the time to spare. I skipped past the "Code" which I have solved to work through the steps of this one. More of a multi rather than a Mystery isnt it Bells? The way I always decide is if you have to visit the listed co-ords, it is a multi. Homework only, Mystery. No real biggy!

Did the required lap in quick time noting the numbers then ambled to GZ. A quick bit of CITO clearing some beer bottles from the plants nearby and I must admit I was very careful to test the camo first. Jack nearly took my eye out so I weighed him down with a tiny Geocoin which just fit nicely in.

A great hide up to BA's usual high standard. Cheers!

PS - Shame Zhaoy missed it, there wasnt enough room in the car Sad Next time!

It was really nice walking around the park collecting info. I especially liked the bird statues.

After doing calculations it was a short walk and a fairly quick find. Nice one! Great camo. Good to see one of these a bit different to the others, and an appropriate name too (though the cache was not what I was expecting!!)

17-Aug-12
Did the counting (wasn't sure about the real birds sitting around the statue!) and figured out the coords. Then I searched a wrong place just to find out that I entered wrong coords into my iPhone, typical! It did feel strange that GZ would be right in the middle of a road!
After the coords were corrected I quickly made the find, SL and pushed Jack back while replacing the cache.
Thanks Bells Angels for an enjoyable cache!

#920

I'd noticed this one as the next closed cache after we found the Marrickville Oval Code cache, but since it was a puzzle, assumed we'd have to skip on it. After a few other nearby caches, I pulled up the cache notes & we realised we could actually do this one. So we drove back to the nice park we'd already been too, had a pleasant walk around it counting things & soon had some coordinates.

Another quick walk & the cache was quickly in hand.

Thanks for this one, glad we realised we could do this one while in the area Smile.

We'd come to this park earlier in the afternoon to find the other mystery cache, without realising there was a second cache to be had. So we went off and did a few traditionals and then eventually made it back here, only to have to count the bird statues we'd admired from the car, before, and go back to the tennis courts that we had been looking at, earlier, too.

The whole thing was pretty quick and simple, though. We walked back to the cache location, fairly sure of what we were looking for, and sure enough, Toriaz spotted it. This was a really nice park that we've never been to before, not being locals. Thanks for taking us there.
