No luck today. Had a good long search around looking in "cache hotspots" and some not so spots. Was interesting wandering around the busts.
After having found the nearby multi, we tried for this one. There were four of us, and we obtained the needed info, headed to GZ and started our search. After many fruitless minutes we decided to contact a previous finder. While waiting for a reply we headed off for another find. Our co-ords were confirmed, but we were told that GZ is out. Also we were given a bit of a hint, so we returned for a second try. We expanded our search area and tried and tried and then decided we'd had enough here.
No luck here despite an extensive search with Trodectus, Decrypter & Goldenwattle. Thanks anyway tigersden
Four of us searched for a long time. We reworked the coordinates...they were correct...went back to searching. Finally after a long search we gave up and went to find another cache. Later, after getting some more information, we returned. Apparently the coordinates are out. However, even with this extra information we still couldn't find it. DNF!
Find number 9202
Using a PAF and previous logs we finally located the cache

Found It!
I found all the required captains expect George Trott, it looks like he might be away for maintenance at the moment. I found the missing number online and then headed off to GZ where I soon found the cache!

We collected the data, but could not find George Trott. Then we noticed a gap where his bust should have been. Google saved the day for us. Now, the coords don't seem right, brothers. We resorted to reading logs. Well that was interesting! Armed with adjusted coords and all sorts of hints it then became a matter of digging and soon had CIH. TFTC tigersden
I did the walk and sorted out the coordinates, which had me concerned, being quite close to the other multi. I searched and found nothing. I then read other logs and still couldn’t find the cache. I abandoned the search to do extra research. I used comments from old logs to hone in on the hiding stop, and after a rigorous search, I eventually put my hands on the cache.
Found at 1.00pm A lovely walk around the town. We stopped at this park to find this cache. A pleasant stroll admiring the figures. Cache found after a short search 10m south of calculated co-ords.

Found on the way home from our Wagga Wagga trip. It was a fun walk finding the relevant busts, they look pretty realistic I reckon! Enjoyed impersonating Richie Benaud saying "two for thirty two". They need to add the newest captain quick smart though! At GZ I took the advice of the description and expanded my search and soon had the cache in hand. TNLNSL. TFTC!
e.gregory1 had previously found this cache on his previous travels so we detoured through town to this one, the cache was easily found and is all good
Day 6 of e.gregory1 and I’s trip to NSW for a week away collecting a few caches that we had planned out and the odd ones here and there.
Thanks for the cache

Collected the information as we made the Captain's walk. Many names we had not heard of, but enjoyed checking out the busts in the latter section.
Did the sums and made a quick find.
It was time to move on from Wagga, so we said goodbye to good friends and set off on our way to Cootamundra via Bethungra. Its still bitterly cold, but thankfully today there were only a few showers and we managed to dodge most of them.
It was mainly traditionals today although we managed an interesting Virtual and a couple of multis.
All in all a casual day traveling with plenty of stops..
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache tigersden.

Thanks for the walk. I found the container however everything inside it was waterlogged. Photo of cache has been sent to the co and an identical replacement has been left. TFTC.
We had a look yesterday but didn't locate the cache. Returned this morning and found while the kids played on the park. TfTC

Bathurst to Wagga on our way to the Mega at Wangaratta.
We had an overnight spot at Cootamundarra at the showgrounds. We have met up with the Snakepiters to continue our journey onto the Mega with.
We followed a caching trail around town which was a good way to explore this area. Certainlt a lot of history on Donald Bradman & Australian Cricket here. The 2 mult's are so close to each other, thought I had made a mistake with the calculations
FP given here.

Out for a drive with Smittengranny and sol de lune. Main aim the community event in Temora. Pulled in here to grab some caches on the way I always enjoy walking along this interesting memorial trail, but retrieving the cache today was a challenge that led to many cuts and scratches. Glad to have it signed and be safely back in the car. Thanks for the cache.
#5834.
After an awesome hike to find two caches in Pioneer Park, we decided get some lunch and have a picnic in this very neat little park. Whilst Lady Thrips was busy preparing the meal and the little ones were playing in the playground, I took a tour through the "Captains". Being a huge cricket fan, I really appreciated this walk and reading through some of the statistics. Thanks for creating a very interesting multi cache here for us to find. FP awarded.

Yet another awesome little multi! Short and sweet once more, but would have never known this cool little monument trail was here otherwise!
We enjoyed looking at every single bust, and scanning to see if it was included in the list of names. Good fun! The questions were nice and simple too.
Coordinates are out, but managed to find it with help from a previous log instead.

What an adventure. Found it, and had a great time.
The spot was perfect for camouflage. At least that's what I’d thought when you picked the spot. I couldn't imagine that anyone would ever be able to see it in these surroundings. So there it sat, confident that it was hidden from the world and safe from danger. Unfortunately, you had not anticipated that others may be looking upon it from other angles, and now they were stealthily descending towards it’s hiding spot.
It's always good to bring a slower friend with you on a hike. If you happen to come across zombies, the whole group doesn't have to worry. Only the slowest in the group do. That was the lesson we will all learn one day.
"Explain to me again why I shouldn't cheat?" he asked. "All the others do and nobody ever gets punished for doing so. I should go about being happy losing to cheaters because I know that I don't? That's what you're telling me?"
Thanks
Once we had the final coordinates in hand Nibletricecakes and I set about trying to find the cache. The hunt ended in the drawing of blood and some frustration but the cache was found and signed. TFTC tigersden
Found with Albida, fitzy and MinnieK on a caching run to Temora to attend Community Event. Picked up today while driving through town.

Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache tigersden!
Found during a week in the Riverina.
Nice little walk in the park. The garden near GZ is getting a little overgrown. TFTC

Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.
Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.
The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some interesting caches along the way.
An interesting walk collecting the required information.
Thanks tigersden for the cache.

We had a "WET" lunch with the Captains today, then a stroll about admiring the structures and parkland . Very well done. The task was completed and the final point took a little bit of geostratgy ..Thanks tigersden.
Nice easy find once the clues were solved, a great park and a nice walk through cricket history
No issues here, gathered all the info, plotted some co-ords, yes, they were out, have sent info to CO for a fix.
Well seeing as i just so happened to be in the area, i figured why not find two multis instead of one, and began learning about past cricket masters..
This was a nice and easy stroll through the park with a quick find in the end, which is always nice.
Thanks tigersden for adding to the cricketing caches in coota!

Visiting town with Trainsport an couldn’t resist this one as we are staying at the caravan park. Walked around snd found all the numbers. Rechecked the numbers and oops we missed a step on one number. Loaded co ords and it led to the middle of the road. Checked obvious places and after about 1/2 hour searching rechecked some places and there it was. Signed log and returned.

Didn't know this was here. While I'm not into cricket, it was still and interesting wander around the park. Got some good numbers and headed over to GZ. With no hint, just had to start looking in all sorts of places until I found it. I suppose it's obvious now! Cache all OK.
Thanks for showing me this spot.
Thanks for showing me this spot.
A second look at this one with success today. Had a different set of co-ords which put us about 30mtrs south of the original position. CACHE ok
No luck. Checked and rechecked the numbers. Given we were looking for a small cliplock container we decided it was not on or near the road edge.
After escaping quarrantine we've been enjoying wandering the slightly quieter roads and towns, so took passage through Coota today, and of course there's 99.9 reasons to visit Coota, so prised by a couple of places while in town... Like most places, they were essentially muggle free which made my calculations and cache find quick and socially distant. Thanks for the hide tigersden
Woke up early this morning in my "luxury" accommodation in Cootamundra. Had a little bit of time to do some caching before starting my course at the rfs. Decided to tackle two multi's in town and gather some more cricket knowledge. Had fun and made quick progress.

Walked and did the numbers. Right. Then the search was on. Numbers could so easily be changed to accomodate GZ. We did find finally and log signed
Found. My daughter and I went for a walk and wrote down the answers. It didn’t too long once we had the answers. Great cache. Was still in good condition. No pen if there was meant to be one.
Could the next finder please confirm if the TB hippocamp in hiding is still in this cache. thanks
A quick find on a beautiful afternoon in Cootamundra. We've been travelling around the area today using caching as our guide. Spent some time wandering along the path looking at the captains. Used the coordinates from an earlier log to make the find. TFTC
Solved the clues, looked around new GZ but then got crowded out by muggles before I could complete the find. Will return
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Enjoyed walking among the cricketing greats.
Continuing our journey south - we are taking the Olympic Hwy end-to-end today - and after a quick drive around town we ended yup here for a quick leg stretch. Coffee in one hand I wandered along the pathway, checking out those I knew, and a stack I didn't, trying to note down the numbers and mathematics I needed and then took a convenient seat to try and wrestle a likely location. I wasn't too sure of my numbers until I got to GZ and saw the obvious spot - nicely constructed multi. A FP for the experience and a nice easy one for some weary travelers.
Thanks tigersden for entertaining me at this location.

Found this evening using a torch approx 12m from our GZ and using "Ian and Penny"s co-ords. the data gathered to solve the puzzle need to be updated
Heading back form the QOGM event in Queensland we were zig zaging our way back.
After spending a lot longer than we needed to on the Bradman multi it was still such a pleasant night we decided to try our luck on this one which turned out to be a much shorter effort and we had no issues at all finding the information by torch light. We did the math's and headed off to gz where after a short search we found the container and happily added our name to the log.
Thanks tigersden for a great multi, it will be interesting to see the new heads as they are placed on the awaiting pedestals. Another reason to return to this great part of the country.

Very excited to be on the road heading to the Queensland Muster in Barcaldine caching all the way. With plans to catch up with family and fellow cachers in NSW first we headed up through some uncharted areas seeking out great locations with a variety of different hides.
Being a cricket fan we really enjoyed the walk down the Captains path collecting the clues and taking photos. Once we put our numbers together we thought we had it wrong but after noticing a previous log we searched in a different location and made an easy discovery,

Wow! What a fun Multi My friend (The Muggle... and I will hold that against him ha ha) and I are staying in Lovely Cootamundra till Friday. This is a Railfan trip we are on, over from ADL, but I made sure he was aware that I will be caching at any given opportunity between videoing freight trains. This Multi and another one relevant to Cricket are "In my sights" whilst in Coota. CCW was 1st cab off the rank for the day. When I arrived at the listed co-ords I was in awe of the most coolest sculptures of our Cricketing Greats over the years I loved this walk reading all the info let alone what was needed for the solving of the final co-ords, I damn near on forgot about the cache ha ha [:o)] (Fave Point for such a well thought out Multi [^])
The Muggle-Mate and I are bigtime into Cricket in general so after I grabbed the final I showed him this walk later in the day, he loved it
The search was widened a bit as mentioned to be done and the cache was soon in hand [^] I can say it is fairing very well and all within is good and dry [^] SL at 13:30 on Wed 4 Oct 2017... TFTC for an Awesome and very Informative Multi, tigersden

I tried to gather some likely suspects for a trip out to the coast today, but was particularly unsuccessful being father's day and all. So I decided instead to head out past Yass to Bradman country - Cootamundra via Binalong. It started out as a lovely warm spring day, but a change came across with some very strong winds, but it stayed warm, hitting about 23C - the warmest I've been since about April !
Didn't find this one. I tried this one twice and still came up empty. I stuffed up somewhere.
Thanks anyway tigersden

I had some time to kill whilst staying in Cootamundra this evening which provided a good opportunity to find a few local caches. I found the other multi in town which led me to this park! After completing the other cache I moved on to this one. I had to do two laps as I missed a few pieces of information. I was a little confused by the coordinates that I came up with but followed my caching instinct which told me I was in the right place. After searching for a few minutes I came up with the goods. Cache is in good order.
I really enjoyed this cache. This is one of those gems that I wouldn't have known ab out if it wasn't for caching. TFTC!

TFTC. I had gone out solo after settling at the nearby caravan park. Linda has no real interest in cricket , so I took the opportunity to have a good walk. Spent time learning about the various captains and had an enjoyable hour. Found the cache in an obvious spot. Have sent a message to the CO our GPS co-ords
Enjoying a quiet Eastet weekend camping in Cootamundra and learning lots about cricket at the same time. Took a while but perserverance paid off. Hard to look inconspicuous with the number of muggles also learning about cricket but we got there in the end. The pruner might need to return soon!
This was a great spot to visit and certainly one of our highlights of our day here. The container was found in good order.

Great spot. Even with the extra hint I was about to give up on the find when eventually I managed to turn up the cache. Oddly enough this is waaay to close to another multi in the park. I'd say about 70 metres. I'll forward you the coordinates of where I found your cache so you can fix up your listing.

It's nice to walk through the history of Australian cricket. Once the rain held off just long enough to collect the answers to the questions, I made a quick and easy find! Tftc
Thanks for the fun geocache. Kids loved running between the heads for the clues. I got S 34 38.210 instead of 201 like in clues.
Find #1926 logged at GZ at 10:47 am. I really enjoyed these, not just for the history but for the bad sculpture. Benaud is laughable and Waugh and Gilchrist are unrecognisable. The so called artist with name starting with V is a joke. I did not replace the cache in the garden as the previous finder did, but rather in a manner that matches another nearby hide by the CO. T4TC tigersden!
The day had come to head out on another geomissin with Rapidlywild, weather was awesome so what better way to spend a Saturday then go caching out in the country side.
Another interesting multi, would never have looked in this park if not for this multi. Very interesting to see the many captains. As RW logged we replaced this one for the CO after confirming with a previous finder that we were in the right spot.

Plans were made with one of the FurfacesLL ladies to do a country drive through some towns in a big loop and clean out a few areas. Main targets of the day were Cootamundra and Junee
We had plans to leave at a certain time, however, I foiled those plans when I woke up late, however we still left at a reasonable hour
After doing the walk and obtaining all the required information on our print out of the listing, we soon had a set of coordinates. After reading the listings, we followed the instructions a searched 10m SW of the worked out coordinates. Hmm nothing there, so we extended our searching are and had a good look around but nothing. It seems there had been some recent pruning so it was possible the original has gone walkabout with the gardener. Contacted a previous finder and it was confirmed that we were indeed looking in the right location. So contact was made with the CO and a new container was placed so future cachers can enjoy this lovely multi
Log signed and off we go towards the next cache. Thanks for the cache placement tigersden

Had two day visit on a camping trip in Coota' - great visit and a couple of caches, but not this one. The coords seemed right (and also fit in with the ones mentioned in on the logs below) - but could not find this one. I must be missing something here - I shall watch and then maybe back one day!
Having shocking luck finding caches today.
After a bunch of DNFs up in Cowra came here and desperately wanted to find this one being a bit of a cricket tragic.
Found the info easily enough (surprisingly no Michael Clarke plaque yet) - apparently it costs $25 000 per head.
Took note of the description advice and saw a few likely spots for a cache. Had a long search - there weren't too many muggles but couldn't find the cache. What I did pick up was a painful splinter from one of the nearby plants.
Thanks tigersden for the walk!

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there tigersden. We found your cache "Cricket Captains Walk" at 1:05:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12023.
[Blue]
Today was our second day in Cootamundra. The day started off with thunderstorms, so we only attempted one cache before retreating back to our caravan. The weather cleared in the afternoon so we grabbed the opportunity to polish off the remaining caches in town. Today we ended up logging 9 and DNF'd 0.

Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 12m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Our GPS coordinates are attached.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

Day 2 of the 2nd ashes test was last night and with future captain Steve Smith scoring 215, seemed like a good day to get this cache
Oh how the best laid plans never work that way. Not that it mattered for us though. Today was day 3 of our trip from Beaufort Vic to Wisemans Ferry for the Tom Quilty Gold Cup horse endurance ride. We had originally planned to go from Junee to Yass today, but of course we had way too much fun caching our way up, and also getting sidetracked at the Junee Chocolate Factory and the Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum. After realising we weren't going to make it to Yass for tea, we decided to stay in Cootamundra tonight instead. We found a caravan park, then headed back out for a spot of caching before tea - and had time to do this lovely multi. We really enjoyed walking amongst the cricket captains. Reading the logs and the description, we found the cache without any dramas. TFTC tigersden and nannymo.
Gathered the data whilst meeting the skippers, except poor Hugh Massie who seems to have lost his head. Did the calcs and found ourselves in an unlikeky spot so read the description and moved the 10 metres SW and searched the obvious place.
For assistance of others add 6 to the south co ord and subtract 3 from the east,
Container is not a clip top but is a pet tube.

I loved this walk and well done to Cootamundra for creating it. I learnt some new facts about cricket and after plotting the new coordinates and having no luck with the find, I read the description again and with some adjusted information found it. Ill email through the new coordinates. tftc tigersden, a fave for me.
As not being into this game, I did Learn a lot, I'll be back with the hubby this weekend to show him these two
I was a bit blowin away by how close they are
Thanks tigersden

I find the Captains walk a bit creepy, though clearly others love it!
After a little poke about the cache was in hand, no problems with this multi.
Thanks for the cache, lovely park.

9256 + 1043 = 10299. Found during a run through the Temora, Junee and Cootamundra regions with ZZ7.
After Bethungra we headed up towards Cootamundra. I was on a mission as I DNF'd this one a few years ago when it went missing. Today we redid the calcs and ended up at the same GZ where the cache was waiting for us ! Nice to cross off the DNF.
Thanks tigersden !

Out spending a couple of days with my eldest daughter finding caches in the Yass/Bookham/Cootamundra regions. An interesting multi. Find 125 plus 1 DNF for today so far. A great start to 2015. Thanks tigersden, will send you the GZ coordinates I have.
