We had a great time finishing the Route 66 Trail with Barb N Gene. It was Mr. Whimppey's Birthday weekend.

Thanks for the challenge cache - qualified on the E.T. Highway last year.

Out caching with Whimppeys and finishing up the RT 66 series we started a year or so ago. Had a blast doing this power trail and enjoyed all the history of this area.

Thanks for the challenge cache. I qualified for this one last year on day one of my E. T. Highway run when I got 1010 caches in one day.

It is just really too bad when a business trip is planned in a place like Las Vegas and I have an opportunity to come early to do a little caching before the meeting. When I found out I was heading to the south west, I made arrangements to do just that. Come down early and hit the Route 66 power trail. I have wanted to do this trail for quite some time. Last year I was down in the area and managed to get the E. T. Highway cleaned up. Of course, I will need to plan a return trip to that trail at some point since they have added quite a few more caches since I got the 1500 that were there last year. For this trip, a good friend, Vulcan64, was able to get some time off and join me for a caching adventure. So we flew down on Tuesday from Sioux Falls and then we worked our way down to Barstow, grabbing a couple of caches along the way. We tried to focus our attention on virtual caches and earth caches for the first night, but there were some terrific targets of opportunity that we could not pass up. In the morning, we took a little walk to grab a nearby cache since breakfast was not ready to be served. Once we got a quick breakfast, we took off for the trail. Once again, there were a few nice targets for us to grab before we made our way down to cache 001. From there we hit the trail with gusto. We did get a couple of other nice caches along the way as well, but our goal was to get the Route 66 trail done in a day. We managed to get it done. What a great trail! We had a lot of fun and we managed to stay safe. Only a few cuts and bumps along the way. By the time we the moon was starting to rise, a beautiful full moon, by the way, we were still about a hundred short of completing the trail. The light of the fading sun was precious, but fleeting. We went as fast as we could, but we ended up finishing in the dark. Good thing we brought flash lights along with us. We signed the logs as VB for Vulcan64 and Beta59. Thanks for all of the great caches, on the trail as well as before, after and in between.

Beta 59 and I flew into Las Vegas on Tues. afternoon to start our adventure. We headed out to Barstow, Ca. as this would be our starting point to begin the Route 66 caching trail. Our goal we set for ourselves was to try to get all the trail done in one day. This was my first trip to the area. Certainly different than South Dakota. Warmer and drier. During this trip I was able to make some new records and add to some current ones. I appreciate all the work involved in making this trail. I enjoyed the whole day. Doing a trail like this with a good friend really makes it go so much better. We signed the logs as V B. TFTC

Together with Hallén, joy.se and TMT68 on a two week trip to the US. We logged all caches with our initials HIJT unless logged as our single nicks.
Target was to visit some trails and inbetween do some limited sightseeing. We limited the caching hours to daylight time only but days became long anyhow.
Trip was planned already 6 month back in time and a very good preparation work on the details made this trip widely exceed the targets we had set.
Weather conditions were excellent except the day with 108 degrees F we faced in the Mojave desert. Not one single drop of rain, only sun and a mostly cloud free clear sky all the time called for quite some dust to face !

Many thanks go to all CO who made this trip become real with so many caches at nice places including the great power trails .

TFTC from Ingabo in Sweden.

We signed the log as we passed by on our way home to Portland. I will check our stats when we arrive home to see if we qualify. Thanks.

Pars18, Larry the pool guy and I headed out to the Route 66 series today for a full day of power trail caching. Since pars18 and Larry the pool guy had already completed the first half, we started at #381 and headed east. That allowed both of them to complete the series. I, on the other hand, will have to return to complete the first half. We also augmented our run to include all of the Non-Route 66 caches along the way. Made for quite a long day and a new one-day record for me. As we proceeded, we repaired any that needed some TLC and replaced some broken ones. Now I need to resupply my stash of containers!

Had a great day and perfect weather. Thanks to Team Stevecat and the other COs for all their work in setting up this run. Got a great history lesson along the way.

Also was amused to note that the number of trains we saw greatly outnumberd the vehicles on the road. Trans = 7, vehicles = 3 for the first three hours.

This was just one of the many caches found by us today. TFTC-SL I thought I would have qualified previously but, as it turns out, required today's Route 66 run to actually meet the 1000 star requirement. Here's my achievement for today.

I had wanted to finish this Series for sometime. After a discussion with some fellow cachers we formed a group of three ; Cache O' Plenty, Larry The Pool Guy, and Pars18. Cache O' Plenty put together a plan that would complete the Route 66 Series for both Larry the pool guy and Pars18, but he would still have to return another day in the future to finish it.

We ended up getting all the numbered caches 381 - 800 = 499 plus some extra ones that were added or had originally been there . This was one of the extra caches we logged during our 66 run.
Thanks to Curious Joe for placing this cache and adding to our fun today.

We really had a great time thanks to Larry (Larry The Pool Guy) and Steve (Cache O' Plenty) for joining our team.

My day started out at 4:00 am when I first got in the pool truck to drive up to the meeting spot at McDonalds near the Lake Silverwood Exit. Sitting in their cars ready to go was Pars 18 and CacheOPlenty. At 6:30 am our group starting finding hides and stamping logs this pattern continued till 5:30 pm. The desert was kind to our group today with little wind and cool temperatures. Thanks to all that placed caches for me to find. I now have a new one day record I FOUND OVER 450 hides today so I was well over the 1000 stars needed for this challenge .

On my stats page - Best Day 1005 caches in one day on 10/27/2011, on the second ET Highway trail. Also logged all 806 on Rt. 66 the day it came out (first to finish). Gathering more caches this morning before heading home with the TAZ team: Lookin'Good, Subman123, Scratch1, grandmabetsy and Roadrunners. Thanks for all of the caches and fun!

Easily Qualified for this one and always enjoy a challenge of sort. Did over 700 ET Hwy caches on 31 Oct 2012 and just completed a cache run of over 700 caches on Rt 66 on 2 Nov 2012 as Team KLM. Alaska's Team KLM is having fun and getting our Kicks and Kaches on Route 66! We enjoyed the warm weather, scenery, and history along the roadway! Thanks for the challenge to finish up the road! On holidays from Australia we had planned on doing a spot of caching whilst in and around Barstow and Las Vegas. One of our goals was to complete the Route 66 series. Early start, late finish was in order and after a long 15+ hours, we completed the series and some extra's along the way. Wow what an experience that was! FurfacesLL No 2 sprained her ankle on the Yermo series, and FurfacesLL No 1 was down with a cold, So we were very pleased with ourselves. After finishing the series we realised that we had overshot this puzzle cache when it didn't appear on the list. Lucky we had the paperwork and we able to locate. Thanks to the cache owners for all the work in maintaining these caches. A days' rest then off to tackle the ET Highway!

Quack and I grabbed over 600 on R66 yesterday. Cleaning up the rest today. Thanks for a great mystery cache idea!

On the 25 of April 2012 My self, Albida33 and Sol de lune found just over 600 caches along the Route 66 highway and about 300 the next day so we on the 25th thats about 1800 stars .. wow earlier this year I would not have thought this was possible.
I it was certainly an experience perhaps I'll be back to do it again in a few years.. who knows.

Found with emzernask while getting our kicks on. Stamped the log as Crazy Canucks.

I've qualified for this challenge several times, most recently when doing the e.t. highway, finding about 850 caches each of our 2 days on the highway.

Thanks for the challenge.

US12. What a bonus, a cache with a theme that we qualified for yesterday ! So many stars in 604 caches. Wow, after what seems an eternity of planning Sol de Lune, Mtrax and I, signing as Team S.A.M. are here. Now in the post Route 66 800 caching set, it all seemed to be similar caching and we teated them mostly the same. Thanks.

*******Cache Find Number 6000*******

The team of myself, Albida and Mtrax (S.A.M.) started Route 66 on 25 April 2012 and completed 580 of the series plus another 30 or so as we went. Our star count for the day was over 1700, which means we can log this cache as find as well.

Thanks Curious Joe, a neat idea for those who head out this way to grab a 'few' caches.

Cheers,

With more than 400 finds in each on the two days of caching along the Rt66 power trail I have more than 1000 stars for each day.

Back with Tumbleweed2 to pickup caches placed after we were here last year. TFTH SL On 4-6-11 as a member of Team 3, we found 500 Rt 66 caches plus 6 others which was a personal best for me until this year, where as a member of Team 4 on 3-31-12, we found 600 caches along the ET PT. I have no desire to break this record . . . unless, maybe . . ..

Another Challenge signed and smiled. You can check my stats page for the days like 3-31-11 when I had 600 cache finds in one day. That is 1200 stars at the very least.

Steve of the Dillon Gang and I did 853 caches on the ET Highway back on July 17, 2010. He wasn't able to join me however for this cache. Thanks for the creative idea.
