#4939 - 13:20; Our week in New York was drawing to a close and we had checked off most of the sights we had on the 'to do' list for this trip. Going Coastal’s NY-NJ Harbor Estuary EarthCache Discovery Trail in Liberty State Park in New Jersey was on the 'to do if you can get there' list on the recommendation of a caching mate back in Australia who had been here before. I was happy that I was able to make it over the river to walk the trail, although the temperature in excess of 90 degrees F made for a hot one. This was the ninth stop on the trail and we had reached the memorial park area. Gathered the required information and email sent to the CO for the OK. TFTC Going Coastal
Next visit on the walk around the area. A great walk area on a great day. E-mail has been sent.
Thanks for another one Going Coastal....

We walked in the park after our visit to Ground Zero. It was hot ! not enough for the fan of fitness just beside the road going to the parking. Thanks!
with the water moving a little rough today, this one was easier.
thanks for the series. we loved every one. can't wait for the center to reopen.

Loads to watch here. I can spend hours watching boats. There's a real contract here, out in the bay there's a beautiful three mast tea clipper, reminiscent of times gone by, and a wonderful sight. Then powering up the channel I have a catamaran power boat, engine throbbing and a massive wake. Complete contrast. Power and beauty. And my vote goes for the beauty. Nothing compares to sail. If I decide to change career then it will involve boats, and specifically sail.
The park here is a real family place. As I am watching the boats, behind me I hear a little voice pipe up "holy moly". I look around and it is a little boy of 5 or 6, and his father has just managed to get their box kite up into the skies. The boy is sitting on the ground, enraptured.
Logging the usual coins through.

We found that earth cache on our US-tour. Due to the rain not so perfect, but interesting.
Many thanks to the owners.

Another great night. Weather broke a little bit. So far this is a great series. Only a few more to go. Then where will we go for our walks? TFTC
See my log for Liberty Enlightening (GC2T1KZ) for a discussion of my approach to this series.
The second Earthcache of the series. These caches have made me aware of things I would have neglected to look for if I wasn't geocaching. Thanks for a great series of Earthcaches!
We really enjoyed the walk along the Waterfron Walkway. This was our first visit to New York. Sometimes it was a bit hard for us to figure out the answers, because English is not our native language, but I hope that we are allowed to log the caches anyways (answers have been sent). Area was closed off, but we were able to at least see the water....

On my way to Cape May, NJ from NH to visit the folks, for Dad's 81st and mothers day! Was able to score this find on the way down! Will send the answers over the next day. One at a time. The devestation of sandy certainly has influenced the area. I spoke with several park rangers and they are not sure when things will fullyreopen! Thanks for bringing me here! TFTC, ponil

Visiting the area from New Hampshire with Preferida, Kballsey and Team Salford on the return leg of a five day caching trip that covered NY, NJ, PA, and DE. Many thanks to the folks from Going Costal for placing this series for taking us to both of these unique spots, and for the great educational lessons. We really enjoyed it! Answers wll be sent soon.

Had a very nice time visiting this area and enjoying looking for several earth caches- just stellar! NH Travelers submitted our answers for us. My thanks to the CO for the work put into creating these. My apologies for the very late log!
Drove out to Liberty State Park today to enjoy the sun and check out Miss Liberty. First time Jenna1229 has ever been here. Thanks for the knowledge.
