Not so easy but it is there.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --French version below-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Short late log but more complete now that we are back home.Our vacation will take us to the other side of the world to the land of the Maoris. After many, many hours of flying, a passage through China on the way there and through the United States of America on the way back, we will finally arrive in Christchurch which will be the starting point of our journey.We will enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and we will go back towards the North Island via State Highway 1. To combine business with pleasure, we will take regular breaks and small detours according to the caches that seem the most accessible to us.With a little more than 3500 km in 20 days, we will have discovered many facets of this island which is soothing. We will have to come back because there are so many places that we have not done . In broad strokes, the path will go from Christchurch to the Kaikoura Peninsula then towards Picton for the crossing to Wellington.New island, new road, and by State Highway 2 we go towards Hastings and Napier. We will leave the seaside for several days to go to Tongariro and Taupo. We will continue north towards Rotorua and Hamilton (without forgetting a detour via Hobbiton ) A detour to the Coromandel Peninsula and finally the almost north of the island with Whangarei and Waitangi to learn the history of this country.There will only be a few days left to spend towards Auckland and its suburbs before taking the plane back to the grayness of our European autumn.The majority of the boxes will be found, we have abandoned those where our English was lacking and where we could not understand the clue. Thanks to all the owners who brightened up our path, who took us to incredible places (that's also geocaching)In short, we had a great vacation, saw beautiful places that simply ask us to come back. We learned a lot about the history of this country and its traditions, it's a great motivation for our destinations.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Petit log en retard mais un peu plus complet maintenant que nous sommes rentrs la maison. We had planned to spend the long weekend in Blenheim but came to Kaikoura after gk discovered this bike ride with loads of bumandworker caches on it. We are keen to find bumandworker caches as they are being archived often without the need for that to happen.Found the cache in the first place I looked then went around to see the seat and what a spot this is and totally agree with the great sentiments on the sign.Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Back on the south island as we fly out of Christchurch in a few days . We love this part of the coast and nice to see so many new ones since our last visit, plus the new roads which were being repaired last time.This was a quick find, in a beautiful place at dusk. Old soggy log book and unsuitable lip balm removed.TFTCTim and Viv - ddm

Interesting spot up here, spent ages with a distraction of a broken bottle and bag - not the cache.... Looked a bit further away and success. Cheers

29-Jul-23
We stayed in Kaikoura for a couple of nights on our way north, and were able to find a few caches today. This was our first of the day and when we realised there was also an Adventure Lab stage here, did that as well. There was a great view from here and we appreciated the message on the sign. If only…!
The cache container was wet inside but the newest log sheet was dry, so no problem signing. TFTC bumandworker.

On a trip south from Tauranga. Been cycling around when we can. Love it down here. Camped up for the night nearby. Heading north again. Thanks for bringing me here.

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

07-Feb-22
Really interesting site thanks for bringing me here tftc

Planned West Coast trip put on hold due to atrocious weather. So an alternative route was needed to avoid the rain. Not so! The rest of the south island copped it too..though on a lesser degree. So mainly driving north with the odd random cache finds. Seeing plenty of country less travelled a bonus. Spending a few days in Kaikoura then heading back down south

Found with NZDi. The weather in Blenheim was supposed to be unbearable today, so NZDi told me to prepare some targets in a cooler part of the country. Kaikoura was supposed to be 10 to 12 degrees cooler but not unbearably cold, so we headed that way for the day. I sorted out a couple of pocket queries for around Kaikoura and the route there and came up with 101 targets. We manage to get 23 (24 actually, I just discovered I didn't write a previous find down in my note book) of them plus five if you count the lab cache we got too. Not our best day out, but nothing to be sneezed at either. Some logs were dated and signed in full, but to preserve space most were dated and signed KM & ND.

This was our fifteenth find of the day and was somewhere we would not have come had it not been for the cache. We didn't realise it at the time but it was also one of the waypoints of an Adventure Lab cache we were also doing today, so we had to come back. The Adventure Lab cache gives more detail on the site and its history.

I am spending today caching in and around Kaikoura. Finding a bunch of caches, old and new. This is my first visit to Kaikoura since the earthquake and it looks like it's been nearly 10 years since I found any caches here. That's a long time between drinks! The weather was stunning today. Blue skies and warm, my car said it got up to around 20C today. Very warm for the middle of June I think. Anyway, I had a great day so thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. A great spot for the cache. When I approached GZ all I could see was a lid lying out in the open. As I looked around further I found the other pieces of the cache - bottom half, clip, log, a few bits of swag. Not sure if that was the work of muggles or animals? I collected it all together and replaced cache as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.

Heading back to the North Island and stopped for a couple of nights here in Kaikoura.
Today I’m just taking it easy, dealing with ‘stuff’ but not prepared to get a sweat up.
Wandered into town to get this high FP cache plus the nearby TMGT geocache.
All good here. Lovely view and history. TFTC

Nice views from up here and a nice spot to take a seat, a bit of a surprise given what the area looks like from the road. Looks like there used to be some paths around under the trees here too. Found with boneybruce. TFTC!!!

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!
