Great views, lovely waterfall, great day but time to call it a day after doing some mountain climbing

Travelling around the local districts with geo friends for a few days and enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way whilst visiting some places for the very first time.Good hint made for a quick find at GZ, and there were not too many muggles around to bother us.Thank you, walterhellmut, for placing this puzzle cache for our benefit and enjoyment
Day three and it is another early start with a plan to climb Mt. Cook and then a drive up to Hope Vale before heading back to Cairns for the last night. The walk up the mountain was an exhausting one but I am very glad that it was completed and the log was signed. The wind up here today was just gail force. From there the four of us jumped into the Bluewattle geomobile and drove around HopeVale collecting a few more caches. I was again surprised by the amount debris still around the area and in endeavour falls. Once completed we headed back to Cooktown for that last cache. all completed we then started back to Cairns and again collecting some old caches and a couple of multi's. All logs were signed and all caches were replaced as found thanks for the placements.Back in Cairns and it is time to get a few puzzles and some more multi's.
Thanks for placingFound with my buddies from Brisvagas - chamad, Snickerallan and GrannySmith1947 on our northern trek back from Cooktown

I am up in FNQ for a couple of weeks - main aim is a bird banding trip to Iron Range on Cape York but have a week before we head off to chase butterflies and geocaches. Glee in today and a delayed flight meant one hour less of caching. Have 4 caches I really want to get and did three of them today. Visited Cairns, Lake Morris and south of Gordonvale and collected a few caches (mainly puzzles).I had a crack at Cairns puzzles a while ago and solved a few. Realised there was some helpful hints as well and so solved a lot more over the last few weeks. This was one of the latter puzzles. Parked nearby and walked the last 100m (only one other car at the parking spot). Quick find - love that the last finder is a fellow puzzle lover from Wodonga (across the river from home).TFTC walterhellmut
Seen this cipher in QLD a few times now, very popular in the Sunshine State, great location at GZ, thankfully not too many muggles today, TFTC walterhellmut
Last of today's solved mystery finds for me today. After enjoying the wet, but magnificent, views, I mosied on over to GZ for a nice quick find at 15:15.

We’ve had the coordinates for this one for a while. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful location, Walter. Thanks to the time of year and all the recent rain, we got to enjoy the seasonal waterfall! TFTC
Solved this puzzle yesterday but arrived at GZ to find it muggle central. Much quieter today so got cache straight away. TFTC SL
I visit Cairns multiple times a year and until today I had never been here before. Thanks for placing this cache here so that I could discover such a beautiful view of this city. I signed the log and replaced it as I found it. There was even a small waterfall flowing nearby.
Up in Cairns to watch UK band Gomez last night. With all of Cairns puzzles solved we made a quick stop here before heading home.
Great views from GZ. Some familiar names in the log. Thanks Walterhellmut for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Stunning views greeted us at GZ. It truly is a beautiful city. We walked to the nearby waterfall, (see photo) and then made the find after that.
I liked this puzzle very much. It was solved with pen and paper back in Brisbane. It fell out very nicely although I’m not sure that I did ever get a green light from the checker.
Thanks walterhellmut for all your puzzles and hides!

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 29. Cairns section Day 13. my Time in Cairns is coming to an end, so I was looking at what I could do to use up a day. I settled on a trip to Copperlode dam. It was a slow windy trip through the hills, but the lookouts were great and the lake was much bigger than I expected, even if the facilities at the visitor's center seems to be abandoned. I ended the day at Smithfield for my long waited for my annual trip to a Mexican restaurant that we no longer have in Canberra.
Having stopped at the lookout, I walked up to the GZ and this time looked where I should first. I am glad the effort put into this puzzle generated such a fantastic spot to visit for the actual cache container !
Thanks for the cache Walterhellmut

Day 19 of our adventure to Townsville Mega. Solved this one before we left home. On our way into Cairns today, caravan and all we called to make a discovery. Stamped log and replace. Thanks to Walterhellmut.
TFTC,
Today is Day 19 of our 2022 trip to the Gulf and Cairns before making our way to the Townsville MEGA.
We had a rest day yesterday to do washing so no caching.
Arrived in Csirns with a plan to get 5 different types of caches on our first visit here in over 20 years.
Worked this puzzle out at home and found it on our way into town.
Visited trackables.

After taking 3 1/2 weeks to meander my way up from Adelaide to Cairns on my own, I met up with FeatherWaite and another friend to head further north to Cape York.
We spent another three weeks travelling up to the tip and back to Cairns, seeing the sights and finding caches along the way.
When we got back to Cairns we went our separate ways again. I stayed on for a few days and found a few caches, including this one, while I was there.
Thanks walterhellmut for the puzzle and the cache.

Grey nomads, currently spending time caching in far north Queensland. We have had enough of Cairns and hankering to get back on the road again. Still in Cairns, feel like we are in a time warp, but this weekend is looking good to go.
In the meantime, take a drive up to Lake Morris, and find a puzzle cache sorted on the way
With the help of a fello cacher, puzzle was solved. Have been sitting beside the pool at our current house sit, watching the spot 965 metres from home. Today our second last day in Cairns we decided to come for a drive. Cache was easily found beautiful view back to our house sit. Photo attached

A quick visit to town which required some alternative transport as the usual mode was not available. The puzzle was solved a while ago for a previous trip but ran out of time to collect. This time we made our way up the hill but with rain showers it was slow going and not much of a view. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Visiting from Townsville to pick up the cherubs. I solved this one last night to see if I’m starting to get some big brains to solve Walter’s caches. I was able to solve this one, I believe it was the exception.
Caught a break in the rain and off I went. Living in the FNQ my whole life, I never have been up here. Oh my goodness, what a spot.
Cheers Walter!

The DT on this one was attractive, so it made the list for today. One of my last caches for the year!
The name certainly gives away the game here with the puzzle. Went old school with a pen and paper for this one even.
Cracking location for a geocache. (It is all about the location, after all.) When I lived in Cairns in the late 90's, I do remember stopping here numerous times on my bike rides up this hill to wet my hair and cool down. Nicely played Walterhelmutt.

Ah yes !!
Raintrees Shopping Centre
Not a bad spot to go shopping for groceries in Cairns,
as it never seems to be too busy
But I had no need to visit said shopping centre to find this cache [:o]
After a bit more of a bike ride than I bargained for this morning,
I could see Raintrees Shopping Centre in the middle distance
And after a stroll along an aisle,
I discovered the cache in its hiding place
OK !!
Which filthy grub put the cigarette in the cache
It ain't there any longer !!
Dat sorta cwap don't belong in geocaches people !!
Anyhoo !!

I did enjoy the bike ride back down the hill [^]

After looking at the puzzle from all kinds of angles, one finally clicked and the coordinates became apparent. But this geocache remained a head scratcher for a little while longer, as there was no green light via the Geochecker. However, confident we had the correct coordinates, we went for a drive to a place to view the sunset. And putting trust in the coords - after sticking VERY close to the mountain side of the narrow road to avoid passing traffic, the cache became unhidden. And the view was our extra award. TFTC
Solved ages ago and collected today between the passing cyclists, dont thing that parking spot was there as a lookout last time I was up here. Thanks for another cache.
Puzzle took a while to solve but cache was easy to find (unlike another one just down the road). Cache is dry and in good condition. TFTC
Solved the puzzle ages ago but couldn’t find the cache on an earlier visit. Easy find today. Thanks for the puzzle and cAche
Solved the puzzle but couldn't find the treasure today. Lovely views. Will try again another day
Yes, ChasHack was totally right. Thanks to him for reporting this issue. We found the contents still wet. Thus we renewed everything. Even the hide is in a slightly different place now.
Wow this was a tricky puzzle! Tried many different methods and did hours of searching on the jumble words and cache name. Even the hint was very cryptic, wait did some say crypto? So I now had the method, but when following an online procedure (that include unnecessary rotations) the words were close, but still jumbled. When not doing the rotations, the solution was found.
As for the cache, it was easily found, for indeed it was hidden under rocks. As for the contents, well they were not just wet, they were swimming, for the entire container was full of water!
I did not even attempt to open the congealed log book (let alone sign it). The poor TB had gotten rusty, and the chain link has broken. I left everything to dry out in the sun as much as possible, while I enjoyed the views. I then packed all the (less wet) items up (TNLN), and re-hid as it was found. The CO may need to look into a better waterproofing container.

Knew I would be visiting family in Cairns so solved this before we left the Sunshine Coast. Great view and cache all good if bit damp. Took the Duplo man and left a cat (toy - not real). Happy to give this a FP for bringing me to this view (photo attached) and also because this cache looked like it needed some love via a visit. Can't believe more people haven't logged it. Finally found you. This one has eluded me since I started Caching so a big high five to thomas.gc and his 'thinking outside the box'. Nice view by the way.
Solved this puzzle some months back in anticipation of our holiday. This was our last find of the day but we saved the best (view) for last. The view from the parking area/ lookout was fantastic. After admiring the view we walked to gz and found the hideyhole for the cache. A quick signing in a new log book but we had to hang on to it for a bit as bikes went past. Safely returned in place, then we followed the rest of the road. TFTC
In Cairns for the day to watch my eldest daughter perform in the Southern Cluster Concert Band, at the Cairns Show. Once the show was completed, I had a little time up my sleeve to do some caching before heading home to Townsville.
I had solved this mystery back in late 2012, while I was still living in Cairns. Moved to Townsville as a result of work before I could complete the find. So today was as good as any to finally get the for this cache.
Parked the car at a suitable spot and walked the short distance to the GZ. Had to wait for several muggles to scoot past on their mopeds before I could swoop in and grab the prize..
Took nothing and left nothing. Log signed. The cache container and contents were found to be in excellent condition.
Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1396.

Another rainy day in FNQ while getting ready for severe TC Ita AND of course going on a treasure hunt with my good GC friends Walter (+ Ingrid @ Yoga for this one) - thank you for more interesting discussions. Finally managed to check my homework in the field . Of course with Walterhellmut on my side I could not fail. Luckily my numbers showed some promising signs and yes, there was the cache. Nicely hidden. +/-0. T4TC.

A workmate and I were slipping into a coma last night waiting for a 3rd party complete some work before we could do our stuff. I decided to have a bo peep at the local puzzles to keep myself alive.
I noticed this one and had a bit of a looksee. A set of numbers soon made themselves apparent to me. I decided I would grab this one as my one for the "August Challenge". I had been in the area before and was surprised one could now access GZ easily and legally [^]
But that didn't mean I didn't spend nearly 30 minutes scratching around like a chook look for the cache My GPSr was pointing to territory that no sane man would consider terrain 2 I decided to look at the situation differently before I went to find another cache - and then I noticed it.
I grabbed the cache and signed the log. It was in excellent condition. Upon checking my GPSr, I found the co-ordinates were spot on. That would be right :-/

I was a little concerned with the proximity of this one to another, wondering if my numbers were correct, but the hide was soon spotted. Thanks WH for the puzzle and the cache.

When driving towards GZ we found the road to be closed with a gate and two security guards. A quick look at GPS… the gate is about 100m before GZ. Huh!! That couldn't stop capt'n flint from finding the treasure!!
We had a chat with the two security guys (without giving away anything about the cache) and they let us in for "five minutes". And that was enough to walk to GZ, find the cache and sign the log. Yay!
FAV point for a great puzzle, stunning views and the little adventure with getting to the cache (we will allocate the point as soon as we get one ).

Solved this puzzle awhile ago but with roadworks and me being lazy I put it off. Cache is safe and sound... Love it up here! TFTC Walter.
What a great place for a cache.
After figuring out the puzzle pretty (surprisingly) quick an email to the CO confirmed we were on the right track before our quick trip North.
At GZ we parked and took the short stroll to GZ and made the find instantly.
Up on the rocks near the hide was a cross with a hat hung on it.
Not sure if the cache has any significance or maybe just coincidence, sad all the same.
Thanks Walter for a nice drive and great views.
Cheers and happy caching.

Mrs Struzinelle solved this one back home---she had an idea quite soon and it proved to be correct.
Today we went for the cache. What an amazing view---thank you for taking us up there!
There were roadworks close by but no one was working as it was Sunday.
By the way, the road will be closed for non-resident drivers from 13 Nov (we forgot what time) until 14 Nov, 9:00am for the eclipse.

The cache was easily accessible on the Sunday that I found it despite being in a work zone. The area would probably be deserted on a Saturday too.
1200 - No-go-zone at the moment, road works with machines and people everywhere right in GZ area - probably for another 2-3 months.
I was just about to give up but I decided to have one last think about it and came up with the cache.

Found at 2:35pm. After much brain bashing and mind bending, In defeat I called Whatsamap for advice. To decypher the clue was not hard, you just had to think the right way. I obviously had not thought the same way as Walter.
So we had the correct coordinates and we went searching... still could not find the cache in its new hiding place. Another email a few weeks ago, this time to Walter asking for advice.
Walter thought he might have hidden it too well...we think he had because we searched and searched. However today we had a better idea and went in for one more look and found it rather quickly. Just a hint, you don't have to climb a mountain to get this one. Stay at road level.
Finally crossed this cache off my 'to do' list.
Took a Toy, Left Car.
Thanks for a lot of grey matter exercise and a nice cache for Sunday afternoon.

The cache is still safe in it's hiding place, however it has been found by some muggles.
They have logged their find in the book, but the lid for the container is missing.
Judging by the mess that's around the place, this area gets a lot of night time visits.
Unfortunately I had nothing to carry the rubbish away with, as I was on foot.

FTF - Wed 3.30pm 20/4 (our time. And I think I dated it 19/4 in logbook - sorry) - Solved code last night but could not seek until this afternoon. Surprised still able to log FTF. Nearly gave up as hide was sort of obvious but I kept reasoning that it would not be there (can't say why as would give away too much). Picked up GC European Union. Thanks for the cache Walter.
P.S. I can't do "Greenhouse" as my GPS is not sophisticated enough.
