Found a tree with old beer cans, shoes and gloves nailed to it!
TFTC.
The caches were soon adding up with us having good success picking off the finds. Could reach this from my seat. Got some info for the bonus cache.
Thanks

If it wasn't for these types of cache locations, we wouldn't have a reason to have some fun on the water. The water was quite still here, so we used the opportunity to invert our kayaks and expel some water.
Oh, it gets a favourite from us!

This was the third find for me. So many oyster farm relics on the way to GZ. I had the job of grabbing, signing and replacing. No need for long arms or legs to get to this one. Will give it a FP too. There was a small crab acting as cache guardian on a branch nearby. TFTC
We (myself, PelDroedGwin, Brewmaker, EverestHigh and BoogieRougue) picked up a boat from Como and hit the wet stuff.
Team work reaped rewards.
Overshot this one on approach but whilst reversing it was spotted !

I was out with troador and Nana nel to finish many of the kayak caches on the Wonnie that I have been overlooking for a long time now. Our goal was to get 7 caches, we ended up with 5.
Our fifth find for the day.
We tried to get to this location a few years ago when doing another cache in the area but the tide was against us then and we found ourselves in knee deep mud.
This time we still had enough water under the kayak to get to the cache and make a find. Gathered the required information and added it to a personal note for the Bonus cache.
After completing the paddle back to the Boat Ramp that we started from, our current physical limits for this activity had been reached. We accept that more time on the water is required to get us to where we need to be to complete a couple of the caches that are on our radar.
Visited a group of trackables.
This was the third of this series for us and with the tide rising by the minute the paddling was getting easier and so were the finds. We picked this from 80m away and cruised in to park within inches of the cache. Sadly the cache was inexplicably full of water. We tipped it out and spent a few minutes drying everything - finally today's extreme heat served a useful purpose. It's by no means 'dry' but definitely 'dryer'
I enjoyed a rest in the shade too, while we crunched the numbers. We struggled to read some of the numbers in this cache but we came up with some pretty reasonable coords and backed ourselves. Turned out we were right. Lovely paddle up the river today - I am really enjoying this series! TNLN TFTC
#6 for the day. I could sense the excitement mounting. AngelGNZ was minutes from getting her DT grid completed and ZQX and I from completing our second loop. This container took a bit of effort to manipulate the boat and to retrieve, but no wet feet. Signed, data collected and the Bonus coords calculated. We were now off to collect the main prize. TFTC THC
This was the series we were really after as the finale was the missing DT I wanted for my grid. I noticed the new 3.5/5.0 pop up nearby but this series was still the one we wanted. We hired a boat from the nearby marina which worked perfectly.
Another successful find, with Fox doing the honors yet again. Tricky maneuvering of the runabout needed by TikvaNZ. Numbers collected and off to the final! Thanks Hancock Clan!
The sixth of 18 finds of the day on a high d/t raid to southern Sydney with AngelG27, ZQX and Fox in Jox. We hired a runabout for a fun couple of hours to find this series and a few others. Cache quickly spotted and soon retrieved. TFTC.
We all got to #1 ok and a quick find was made and the process was repeated. At this stage we thought we where doing well and set course for #3. Here we soon realised just how shallow things were getting and how much more mud there was. We not even get the yaks close and we had limited foot wear plus KRS had the dodgy ankle. Crash used his yak as a skid to good effect to keep most of this weigh off his legs to avoid knee deep mud sinkage. Here things started to go bad. While the container was found the contents were pulp and more importantly no numbers for the final. Various discussions followed and I said lets get to deeper water first I thought this bay could trap us and become a giant mud bath. Well the tide had just gone out a little more and we were stuck so I hopped off to push while KRS (who could not) paddled and we slogged it out for about 100m in the knee deep mud that certainly had some crunchy oyster content. At one stage I must have been walking on an old oyster farm rail as i could feel the wood and was only sinking in about 10cm. Any way once floating again it was PAF time containing past finders, consulting the Blue Mountains phone directory and reading past logs. An early PAF answered only to get this series muddled up with the Treasure Island series and in the end it was a TAF who was in NZ that came through. On getting the result I looked up to find we had been in the main current and drifted a little further than I had wanted so we had some back tracking to do. So we headed for the sand bank (checking for no mud first) and plotted the co ords and then the there was a bit of cooling off due to record heat before our second last leg of the day.
Getting a clear and cut free location near GZ was easier said than done bit we docked and between the mud and the oyster shells on the rocks made it bare foot up to to the final. A quick hunt and the hide was found and signed. A great day out made possible by KRS and Crash 2079.
On getting back to the launch spot it was well and truly low tide and there was one last mud challenge to complete before loading up and heading to the near by pub for a thirst quencher. Despite the amount of mud we were carrying the colour of our money was good and they let us in. TFTC
13/12/16. 1:30 PM. Cache #4585.
7th of 8 finds - Kurnell, Como, Illawong.
A kayaking adventure day with bella at waggy and crash2079, out to get the Arkaroo's Kurnell series of 4 and the On Yer Boat set of 4.
Continued here from #1. Having used up the high tide time in Kurnell, we'd already had muddy trouble in falling tides at #2 & #1, but it was about to get a lot worse. We got to #3 okay, well sort of, there were a couple of times we crunched over oysters that were about to be exposed above water. Once again, crash was left to do the wetwork while we were stranded and unable to get any closer. He found the cache okay, but the log inside was a slimy mess of pulp. The clues were unreadable! He added a new page with our names; really hoping it stays waterproof. We started thinking about who to contact and how to get the missing clues but then with the tide falling decided that this wasn't the best place to stick around.
So, we headed for deeper water... eventually. You see, we were quite bogged now and the trip back to deep enough water to paddle in was now more than 100m of bella pushing and me paddling as best I could, and using my legs to push as well. We were completely filthy by the time we got to deep enough water.
We tried a couple of past finders as well as the CO. Eventually some answers came back and we would be able to find #4 after all. We soon found a sandbar to complete the calcs and get our bearings. This was also a great place to get the mud off, plus I forgot to mention it was at least 37°C out, so we relished the cool-off!! But time to continue, and on our way to #4. Another 16 months unloved credit shared here. TFTC.

Had a great kayak adventure with KRS and B@W targeting 4 Arkaroo caches in Botany Bay and the On yer' boat series near Como. It had been a while in the planning to get the tides and weather right and apart from high temps, it was close to perfect. We had aimed to meet at Bonna Point Reserve boat ramp at 7:30 am for an expected 8:15 high tide, but with heavy traffic, we didn't hit the water until after 8:00 am.
We had originally planned to do these series on two separate days, but having completed The Arkaroo series well before noon and great weather, we thought it worthwhile to at least have a go at this series even though it was a 30 min drive and the tide was on its way down.
Navigating through more shallows, it was nearing 1:30pm as we approached #3. This time we could only get to within 30m of GZ. Another quick find, but this container has been damaged and was full of water. Unfortunately, so was the zip log bag containing the log paper. The only thing recognisable was a sticker from a previous finder - there was no way to retrieve the clues from this cache. After emptying the water from the container, I added a fresh piece of paper with our names on it into a new zip lock bag and popped it into the container. It won't last and is missing the clues so will log a needs maintenance note.
Being so close to the final, we weren't giving up without a fight. After making our way out of the mud flat, B@W attempted to contact the CO and previous finders. It didn't take too long to get enough info to solve the location of the final. With temperatures well over 35 deg, we beached on a sand bank and enjoyed a quick dip in the refreshing waters before heading on to our last target.

So after departing "on yer boat 1", we were on route to this mighty cache... We navigated the channel and came alongside to the old wharf.. After calling Liberty I head ashore to have a look around.. Sadly ADI was on duty, so she had to stay with the boat.
After a quick run ashore we slipped all lines again and started a proper search.
I spotted the cache in the distance and tide up alongside to make another mark in the log.
My crew.. ADI was working so well.. I called "beer issue".. We completed the calculations for the final, but before we could head off we got a signal from HQ to detour to "dead end". I had been to this location before.. So it was a quick turn around and now off to "on yer boat 4"

Log is signed as ADI aka Alphadeltaindigo
Finding this cache took a bit longer than the others coz the lone tree didn't look too lonely. But we spotted it.. And now to grab it. Pk and I did a little salsa turn on the boat for the balance and pk made the grab. I signed the log and he held the boat in place!

Started at the Como boatramp with a few drops af rain and an overcast, but very humid and warm. The weater turned dry for the rest of the trip and the sun luckily stayed away. Although I was already 2 hours after high tide, I could easily reach all locations without getting out of the canoe (except for actually getting to the cache height. At arrival back at the car I did a 7.5 km trip.
Luckily I have heaps of favourite points to give so a point for every single one of these and a pathtag for the bonus.

Perfect kayaking weather and some great spots.
TFTC and congratulations on your achievement guys
Came down from Newcastle last night for a day of caching today, and decided to get up at first light and visit this series of caches. With two down, it was on to the third, and the going was made a little harder with the tide pushing against me, and the kayak bottoming out in a couple of spots. Still, even at low tide, I was able to get the kayak within a few meters of GZ, and the cache quickly found. With all the clues for the final obtained...it was off to it before heading back to the car.

So I set out from the boat ramp and paddled my way under the bridge.
Found this after the other two and took note of the clue before working out the coordinates for the bonus cache.
Unfortunately sun and salt do not go well with some plastics. The lid has cracked in the conditions and it looks as though the plastic has shrunk in the heat.
Have a fav point. (I've been going through them over this weekend!)
So, off to Woronora for some kayaking. Got here early, and did a couple other hard caches waiting for the kayak hire place to open. Then onto to the water. Could this be the day I fill in my D/T grid? Just got to find the final in this series.
Unfortunately I wasn't in tune with high tide. And boy is the mud sticky! I'm gald the co-ords were great, and there was a standard spot where it was going to be!
No trouble locating, SL TNLN followed by some discussion about the demise of the local oyster industry.

All good with the cache.
Just the Fishing Bell TB through
TFTCanoeing series Hancock Clan (will definitely let you know if we can get our act into gear for some canoeing caches up the Mid North Coast way)
Soon found the well hidden cache.
Dry and intact. Left: a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
And this will be another cache for the Night Caching thesis bookmark.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, B 2 B ingot, I Bashed at MidWest 2007, Iconic Bridges, Just Monkeying Around Oz, Little Moo, PAP, Trackabulldog, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, and trackable shirt.
TFTC mini-series and paddle The Hancock Clan
Found on a beautiful morning paddle. Katsumar spotted it as soon as we got close. Fascinating to see the old Oyster Farm.
Now we just have to find the coordinates from #2 so we can go for the bonus. Where did we put them???
Container as looking a little sparse so we left an alligator, a croissant (rubber not fresh!) and a duck Trackable who should feel very much at home but does apparently want to go North.
TFTC
Left Willy the Wood Duck who is on it's way North. We thought a duck would love this spot.
TFTC!!!
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache The Hancock Clan!
best wishes,
Wal
(added a couple of photos)
An enjoyable visit nonetheless, looking at the old oyster bits and pieces.
best wishes,

That was last week. Now more experienced and armed with a new GPS I will try again and look forward to completing the series in the weeks ahead. I note it's been nearly a year since they were visited. Hope they are still in situ.
Took the Baa GC.
Thanks THC.
Now on to no.2! On second thoughts, I have had enough mud for one day. I'll be back to complete the series another time.
I've been on this river for many years but never ventured to this little corner.
I downloaded the Groundspeak geocaching app on to my Samsung Android phone yesterday and was giving it a test drive today. The wretched thing had me all over the place under the trees within a 50m radius making it almost impossible to narrow down GZ. I think it's more to do with the dodgy GPS in the phone than the app. The actual app is pretty good for a $9 investment.
Anyway I had to call Mr Hancock for some pointers.
I was also worried about dropping the phone in the water and wrecking it. Thankfully I didn't do that today. However next time I'll bring the Garmin on a boating trip. It's faster, more accurate and waterproof!
Didn't find a pen in the cache here either, so dipped a twig in the mud again.
Must have beaten Arkaroo to this one because I didn't see his log.
Thanks Hancocks.
Because it's fun! [B)]
On yer' boat! Nice day today after so many rainy week ends, and winter coming shortly - so On yer' boat! There were two good reasons to get our duck out here: i) to hide a cache we've prepared since a while ago - Quibray Bay Mangroves and ii) seek the new On yer' boat series. Easy!
Advanced afternoon, the tide pretty low and descending further, we drove up the Georges River, past The Rat's cache Aladdin's Cave - overdue but again, the rock full of muggle anglers. Past On yer' boat! #1 (Mangrove Island) - no, too much mud, water too low - seek that later ...
The water in Audrey Bay was too low to navigate, so we landed east of GZ on a sand bar. Yes, sand - quicksand! But it was not very deep so a good spot to leave the boat and venture the last 70m or so by walking. Mud mud mud. But we sunk only foot deep. The land looked very impenetrable, therefore we decided to wander around the lip of the headland. The mud became deeper - but the real hassle were the hidden oysters. We better entered the land - or swamp - covered by oyster shells. Have you ever walked barefoot hundreds of meters on oyster shells? Try broken glass, and you know! Anyway, no way to give up. Balancing on the naily planks was really balsam for the feet! And mangrove roots - if you're not careful, they stick into your flesh! Few nice spots for photo shooting - thanks for bringing us here! Oh, too far! 12m behind! Found it! I sat on a tree relaxing my bleeding feet before hitting back. Through the water around was no good idea, as we stuck soon in the mud up to our knees. So straight through the country side.
Nice cache, well done! The kind we love! I tried to drop off the Hamburg Night Geocoin, but it did not fit through the opening. Cache Critters BAA Geocoin just made it and is now residing in this sub-tropic mangrove forest.
The Arkaroo - who loves the mountains and the waters.

Continuing on from #1 & #2, geowife & I paddled back around the headland and away to find the oyster farm - which was a good paddle away - upwind and upstream (against the tide) - but eventually we reached GZ and managed to spot the cache which was again grabbed, signed and replaced.
Find #699 completed.
A great cache, well placed/hidden/disguised.
Had a little float about for a few minutes while I plugged all the numbers into the equation, and then the final numbers into the GPSr, before we were off again in the "race" to the final cache.
