A lovely quiet spot. The water looks lovely with the sun shining brightly. This took a minute or two before we located it.
Today we said farewell to Temora and moved on the short distance fo Grenfell. We picked up a few caches en route and arrived mid morning and set up in the donation camp at the Old Railway Station. A lovely setting with the restored station and a playground nearby. Only sharing it with one other! We then checked out the local area caching breaking it with lunch and a coffee at one of the local cafes. The scenery here with its rolling plains and hills is quite different to home. The storm clouds rolling in over the nearby mountains were spectacular.
As for the nearby silo art, amazing.
Thank you to the local cachers. A mixture of hides and a couple quite clever.

Heading to Weddin Mountains for the weekend and got the day off as well. So chose an alternative route to get some caches - a few different shires for the day.
Last one for the day and a quick drive to a quiet car park and short walk to an easy find.

Caught up with the last few caches we missed on our previous trip. Great way to explore a town. Tftc
Didn't find, unfortunately my daughter slipped on one of the sharp rocks and cut her leg open. Quick trip to Cowra hospital for 5 stitches.
TFTC also made it harder than it needed to be haha access is straight forward except when you come along the dirt track
Out and about caching this morning, not a Muggle in sight. Found quickly and signed log. TFTC
Very long grass here. Spent some time looking in various holes and caves between rocks, but did not see it. Not the season to be blindly reaching in!
Nice area. The log is dry at present, but it has been wet. These types of caches are not waterproof. TFTC barkingmadnz.
Very dark in there. Almost posted. Tftc. Nearby picnic seats, toilets and rubbish bin
Took a little while to find but found in the end. Soooo dry. Hope it rains here soon.
On a Geocaching trip from Canberra chasing Ciunties. Very smoky start but glad to have another county down. TFTC

4 people helping me look and can't be found. Been at it for over 3 hours now. Conclusion is someone has taken the cache or moved it to a different area of company's dam.
With a day free I decided to go for a drive to Grenfell and clean it out. This didn’t end up happening as some caches I couldn’t find and some are missing (according to past logs). About ½ of the caches I found today are in need of some urgent TLC. The list of issues includes: cracked containers, waterlogged/full logbooks, missing parts of field puzzles, incorrect coordinates and completely missing containers. I did try my best to help CO’s with these problems as much as possible but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough supplies with me for all of them. I hope the CO’s will continue maintaining these great hides, to stay alive for others to find in the future. Today was a great day full of creative hides, great locations, fun hikes and lots of laughs. TB visit on all found caches today and on some of the smaller log books/sheets I signed as 13/9 JM. Even though I was upset with the state of some of the caches around, I still would like to say thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place the caches I found and the fun I had while finding them today. Sorry about the generic logs. Only the more interesting hides and DNF’s will get an extended logs due to the amount of caches I found today.
Found by accident while cleaning up the rubbish luckily I knew what it was when I opened the container
Narrandera - Grenfell
We stopped on the roads where suitable to pull over with a caravan on, to find a cache.
We have now set up camp at the old railway station. After a lunch break we did a tiki tour of the town, finding some very cleverly hidden caches in some great location. The town was very hot today.
Thanks for placing this cache barkingmadnz

Rustling in the rocks a bit off-putting but all good. A nice secluded free camping spot beside the dam. TFTC.
We have looked here fore and this time decided to be more systemmatic. Found it in the first place we looked. TFTC
Stopped here for morning tea and decided to have another look for this one. Second time lucky and we were happy to cross it off our DNF list. TFTC
Nice easy find on short stay in Grenfell, co-ords good, cache in good condition. THTFSL
5th day, could not find with skyejam & sevabo it looks like last found was last year July, leaves, barks etc covered the cache??
Found at 4:08 PM GAFF1.
Went to all of the tricky spots only to find it right out in the front. What is that painted rock in black and yellow that looks like a lizard all about?
Thanks barkingmadnz.

10895. Found with AngelG27 and specimenX ("SAFi" in most of the logs) on a day run up Cowra way.
With the bad weather down the coast postponing a planned run that way, a quick rethink had us planning this run instead. A early start had the three of us hit the Highway before 7.30 and not too long after we started our caching spree. Awesome run, with quite a few of the "History of..." puzzles solved and (all but one) collected, as well as 5 First To Finds making a great caching day with my new invasion buddies.
This was the next find for the day, and I was hoping to turn a previous DNF from 2014 into a find. Got to GZ where I remembered I looked last time and there was a cache waiting for us - excellent. Signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks barkingmadnz !! I remember doing your 101 Dalmatians PT a few years ago !

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company! We signed with the acronym SAFi ("i" for invasion ).
A quick find witch had fitzy happy to turn this previous DNF into a smily
Thanks for the hide, barkingmadnz

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs. We signed the logs as S A F I (for invasion) to save time in the rain!
37th cache of the day found at 1505. A quick find by Fitzy who was pleased to right a previous DNF. Thanks barkingmadnz!

A day out caching as Team Dumbledore's Army (Darzee Di, Ryan Girls, FrannyJ, Starlight and ynnbub) with the Harry Potter trail as our destination. A race to see who could grab this one first!! A quick find. TFTC
Team "Dumbledore's Army " (ynnbub, the ryan girls, frannyj, starlight and myself) to grab some caches in Grenfell before we hit the Harry Potter trail outside Cowra. not long until the Ryan girls had the cache in hand and signed the log book. tftc barkingmadnz
Went out to the dam and true to the name of the cache there were people out there with dogs. Lovely cache location. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC. 2BluFish
Our only free day for quite some time so we decided to head out on a geomission around the area. We have had a couple of mini tours lately, but today we went all out to Cowra and Grenfell to see how many we could find. Rapidlywild came along for the drive to fill her gaps where she has previously posted DNF's. The weather was lovely and the drive was picturesque, thank you to all the cache owners for bringing us to this lovely part of Australia.
Quick grab at this one.

Plans were made with Tanso for a day trip round Cowra and Grenfell. We started the day off with the WWFM event and then it was on the road for us
Very enjoyable day out in the smaller towns. Undortunately we did have a number of DNF's however these things happen and it just gives us more reasons to return We arrived in Cowra about 2pm and I got back to Canberra just on 2am. Was a range of finds and some very good ones too ! We finished the trip driving through Young when we spotted a "bomfire" which turned out to be a vehicle on fire. We pulled up and called 000 immediately to get the firies out. Always fun and games on road trips [:p]
Wow, this took ALOT longer than it should have. On hands and knees, I searched EVERY single rock at this location. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Hmmm reading recent logs, it appears the original cache went MIA and it was replaced by an eclipse tin. That definately wasnt there so we placed a camo'ed mint tin with a brand new log at the location identified in the picture with the original cache container. If the CO would like me to remove my "Found It" log on this cache, please let me know. Otherwise there is a cache in play now.
Thanks barkingmadnz for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers as we head to Stanthorpe for the Qld Mega. The water level is way down. TFTC
After a short search it finally revealed itself. Was considering camping out here for the night but a lot of new years noise coming from across the otherside of the dam.
Happy new years...

Even with the risk of bad weather, we headed out with Roostaman, to pick up some caches.
Cache was located, after a short search. Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, barkingmadnz, for us and others to find.

# 11224 Found on another long day trip north with The Drovers.
We had good weather for most of the day, but struck the hail storm on the way back.
Didn't bring the dogs today, and a good quick find anyway.
Thanks for the cache barkingmadnz,

I bit tricky to find as it was well hidden under the large rock, found with seachangers
Replaced with a green mint tin where hint suggests. Thanks for showing me this area.
Seen a few did not finds so I went to check it out sadly it has disappeared and being a hang out for local lads I think it would be found again if I put a container back, which is a shame because it's a great spot
As few before, found the obvious spot and what certainly looks to be likely cache container lid. No cache to be found though. Had to retreat quickly due to being chased by a monsterous cache protector...
Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot. We found what we believe to be the lid of the container and signed the lid. TFbring us here.
This might of been discovered by muggles. Found a plastic container nearby and a badge/clip that I assume belonged to the cache but nothing like a whole cache with a log book...
I'm glad I had a local with me to help me find the dam! I can see why it is a great place to take the pooch for a run. A quick find, although I think my friendly-muggle sister-in-law thought I was magic that I could look at where the cache was and say it is in there without moving anything. Experience counts! TFTC and showing me a part of Grenfell I might otherwise not have visited.
Well it woud be nice to think of this place as a good place to spot those wonderful birds that do indeed live in the area
But let's be realistic here people ...
Despite council's good intentions to attract twitchers to this spot, all they have created is yet another area where the dip-shit locals in their hoon cars, can congregate late at night, light fires, and depart on their drunken rampage leaving all the McDonalds, KFC and Dominoes rubbish behind them
Why do local councils persist in wasting rate payer's money in trying to beautify out of the way places like this ?
Better the money be spent putting up barriers to stop the idiots and their cars and make people walk in
But it is still a sort of nice spot in the middle of the day, and the cache is safe and sound. waiting to be found

On a quick trip from Canberra back to the old home town of Coonabarabran for some family matters and decided to grab a cache or two in Grenfell.
We had the area to ourselves this morning and after a quick search spotted the cache container. Another grab with with Just a cacher.
Thanks for the cache barkingmadnz.

The day was warming up and my imaginary dog "boo" had a wonderful time as we searched for the cache. He was a bit lonely as there was no one to play with! Thanks....
A neat little spot that I reckon must be popular in the warmer months. No-one around today, so it was a nice quick find.
Thanks for another one barkingmadnz.......
