Another place I have visited many times before. Some great views of the valley through the trees. I had to use the hint after 15min as I had to get going. TFTC
First stop for the morning, feeling good. What great views here through the clearing, and nice and easy for the kids. We enjoyed climbing over the rocks and getting hands back on granite. Beautiful country out here.
I was visiting the family in Mansfield and Boxing Day came and the choice was cricket or a drive. Cricket won for a short while before we headed out over Samaria and back around via Stringybark Creek.
My Mum was not a fan of Samaria after taking a wrong turn on a previous trip and ending up pushing the Jeep into places that she never wants to see again. Well this was a good first stop and after working out that the trail was still good once you got through the first bit we headed out.
Loved the views especially the gnarled old pine near the top.
Snuck down and found this with a quick sign and a pick up of the travel bug we were off.
Thanks Sarian

After spending the afternoon wandering the hills grabbing a couple of caches that hadn't been found for a while this one was while driving out. And what a beautiful view greeted me at gz with the late afternoon sun bathing the valley. Thanks for placing a cache here.
Very cool spot , so cool this one has been here over 10 years , thanks for the cool views
Nicole’s first geocache. No ink in pen to sign book. Not under the rock we first thought.
First time here despot coming to Mansfield for years. Such a pretty spot. TFTC ️
Nice little hide, pretty awesome views around here, shame the trees weren't cut down so i could see more. Oh well, cache is in all good working order. Thanks heaps for the find!
This was our last one for the day on probably our last outing before the lockdown. After a short walk leaving the geo-sister in the car, we came to GZ. Avoiding a rock with a wriggle stick under it we picked our way to the right spot. Cache was found reasonably quickly and signed. Lots of muggle names in the book though. TFTC
An adventure with our 3 kids today took us to this amazing spot! Thanks! Lots of rock hopping and exploring to be had! Geokids found this one easily.
Thanks sarian for making us walk to the lookout. Great view mid afternoon, with the sun shining and storm clouds in the distance. Found with the help of the hint.
First find of the day. We had a day to spend around Mansfield, so what better to do that go for a drive through the forest and grab a few caches. Today was cold at the lookout. We had been used to temperatures in at least the mid 30's over the past week, but today was more like 13.
What's up that road ??
I headed on up as far as this lookout this morning
There were a few rocks to bounce around on,
but the view was very hazy looking into the sun
Poking around the rocks some more,
and the cache was found

Quick find right after a lunch stop. Suspicious rock formation pointed the way, and the fact that someone had dropped a pen right in front of GZ confirmed everything. Thanks for the cache, and great spot to hide it in!
Took my Dad for a drive andthis was one cache he was able to get too fairly easily. Lovely views, Thanks
I drove from Police Paddocks on the Murray River to Mansfield and collected a few geocaches on the way. This was a straightforward find, being more or less on the coordinates, and the view over to the Great Dividing Range is impressive. Thank you sarian for installing and maintaining this cache.

What a beautiful part of Australia to explore. Without Geocaching I would never have found so many interesting places in my travels. We really are so fortunate. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment sarian... Appreciate your efforts...

A visit to my mum's included a day of caching and driving around the Strathbogie Ranges in weather that ranged from bright sun, to rain, hail sleet and actual real snow.
An awesome day to be out and about in the Hilux. After an interesting drive across the range, through mud, sleet and snow, I visited Swanpool and checked out the Bald Archy exhibition in the memorial hall, which was brilliant. Filled up the ute in Swanpool and headed up into Mt Samaria Park, where I'd never been before.
As I walked from the car, it began to snow. Definite, light, fluffy snow, not sleet or hail. There was no view today, as the lookout was inside a cloud !
An easy find, thanks Sarian !

TFTC. Been to mt Samaria before but haven't been to this lookout. Loved seeing the tomato plantation that we drove past on the way here from up above. Well hidden cache, not many swaps though. Cute little two minute walk to lookout and loved the huge rocks. Well worth doing
Found at 3:18 PM GAFF1.
Well this was a bit o a disappointment. Just like all of the lookouts in our Mid North Coast area - the tree are just growing and no one can see any views. Cache was located quickly with excellent co-ords.
Thanks sarian.

TFTC! Nice little walk to the lookout which was awesome! And we found the cache, cheers!
Pen was broken, we put the geocache back in the correct spot because it had been moved
Spectacular view especially this morning with all the cloud below the lookout. Heading home to Mt Beauty from Mansfield via several geocaches. This is the first for the day. TFTC
Planned on going camping but the weather was just terrible. So opted for a day drive instead. Stopped off here for lunch, beautiful little spot, lots of rocks for the kids to climb on. Very eery through, long weekend and the park was deserted, didn't pass a single camper.
Lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy the views with our caching friends. Nice spot.

Managed to get here without any problems since the road had been recently graded after recent heavy rains made it impassable - apparently. Nice views when perched atop the rocks and the rain clouds were high enough to allow a view to the Mansfield valley below.

Out for a day of caching with Biggles of Oz and Mrs Biggles.
A great find for our 100th cache. We enjoyed the views from the top of the rocks, despite it being a very overcast an windy day.

Over the Easter break Team PacketStorm took a trip up central Victoria for a few days.
Some of these places we had visited before in our travels but never stopped to grab the caches.
We had enough time to take a wander through many of these lovely areas and enjoy the scenery
Thanks to all the Cache Owners for placing the caches.

Long time since I was last here. Thought it might have been muggled when I found the toy dog on the rock. Bird sounds where amazing today.
found on a day trip with twin muggle boys who were very pumped to be doing this. took coins left some swaps. a bit surprised to see bush walkers this high up. top views on a clear day. tftc.
Walked to Wild Dog Falls, planted a new cache and picked up this one on the descent to Mansfield. Nice spot. Easy access close to the road. TFTC

My mistake to read the hint upfront if the coords are good West and East is a mixed up but at the next cache I already knew that. The view was quite good with clouds hanging on to the hills on the other side of the valley.

After a quiet night in camp further north we visited the Lookout on the way back south and delighted we did! Great spot, wonderful views, butterflies, bird calls, so peaceful. Oh, and we found the cache at 11.00 am. Left tweezers, always useful, TN SL. Many thanks sarian for giving us a reason to stop there and thank you for an informative page, loved the bit of history.
Quick trip out to Mt Samaria NP to grab a cache for my daily tally.
Nice quick find in a beautifully peaceful spot.

Great location, I saw this one and wondered if it was the lookout we used to go to as kids and it was. The road up here has been neglected for quite some time and needs to be graded badly. Still easily accessible by most cars but I wouldn't try it in a small car at the moment. Thanks fr taking me back to this nice location with many happy memories.
Unfortunately we didnt have the Additional Hints blurb with us and although we searched well it was a dnf.
Great view and interesting drive up, though road is getting a little rough and corrugated in places. Will attempt again sometime when we are back in the region. Cheers

It's a shame, really, that I'm only the 3rd to find after over a year! More people should make their way up here to admire the view, especially at sunset as I just have. I'm giving this one a favourite point on location alone. TFTC!
We took your advice sarian and decided on a day trip along Mt Samaria Rd. We became 2nd TF at 2.15pm after travelling most of the 27kms by the time we reached here. A much easier walk than the first one today. Have to say that the trees have grown and obscure the view to Mansfield now. One can easily indulge in their tree fetish here - there are so many magnificent old trees along the short 200m to the cache site. It has been 8mths since this cache was last found, but we are happy to report that it is dry and in good condition. Took: Rome 1 AD mondo doll Left: smiley face, agate and kookaburra pin. TFTC sarian #1031 cache for us. Now we are off to Merrijig to check a camping spot for Easter next week.
This one had been on both mine and Haveanezs radar for a couple of weeks now as it was still unfound after a month since being published.
I had dismissed it as being too far and costly for an FTF, but when the opportunity arose for the use of the work car for the weekend we arranged to go for a drive to pick it up, taking full advantage of the "free" fuel
Really not expecting the FTF as the roads were very busy with snow travelers we took our time reaching Gz, stopping for around 7 caches on our way here.
The cache was found and pulling out the log we had seen the writing on the back side of the first page and both Big Ez and I had thought simultaneously that it had been found and not logged, but we discovered the owners note had continued to the back of the page, we were FTF after all.
Admired the view over Mansfield for a little while before heading back to the car and making our way down the same way.
TNLN, SL @ 1130 Cheers.
