Temporarily disabling this until the weekend as it would appear someone has made off with the ammo can & left the contents to rot.
May consider moving this to a more secure hiding spot.

Thanks to everyone who bought this to my attention!

Then we went to Melbourne where we visited the city and the surrounding area . then we went to closing in the north of Australia . During this time we visited several geocaches and were brought to very nice places through this partially . We also had the opportunity to visit some very old caches , which extremely pleased us . We wish to thank Owner for nurture and cherish the caches .

The ammo box is missing. It's just in a plastic bag. Everything is wet as the bag is full of water

Took longer to find because I was looking for an ammo box. It's just sitting on the ground in a plastic bag. Couldn't sign the log because it was too wet. TFTC

Walked around the lake for the first time in my life! Pretty spot on a sunny day, which drew in some of the local douchebag kids to go swimming and yell obscenities. Otherwise a lovely spot Smile

04-Sep-15
Found it! It was my first find on my own! Thanks, it was great and a good hide.

26-Aug-15

Lovely spot. Thanks for the Y cache in our A-Z challenge.

Out today with cathlud to grab a few smileys.

The Plenty Gorge Park is within a few kms of my house, but I have never ventured into it until today. It is lovely! Didn't see any wildlife on the walk, but could hear lots of birdsong and the flowering wattles smelt and looked terrific. Spring is not far away!

cathlud spotted the likely hiding spot once we hit the GZ and then we chose the safest option for our approach. The lake was stunning set beside those rock faces.

Thanks for a cache is such a pretty spot!

Out with tinkertraveller today in the Plenty Gorge Park. This was my first experience of geocaching with a fellow geocacher and I enjoyed the walking, talking and searching.
I was lucky to spot the cache before tinkertraveller but we then had to search for a safe approach. This is the first ammo box that I have found.
After signing the log we stopped to look at the lake before continuing our walk through the park.
Thanks for bringing us to this pretty location.

I've been meaning to explore this park for some time and what better day than a gloriously sunny autumn Sunday. There were a lot of cars in the carpark but I didn't encounter too many muggles on the way to GZ. The lake in the quarry is beautiful, and the stillness of it made for great reflections (and hopefully great photographs).

A bit of to-ing and fro-ing before I homed in on GZ. All in good condition.

Thanks for the cache, and for bringing me to this lovely little park.

Have been here years ago, was good to come back (but sad to see how run down the park is). Sadly Blue Lake didn't live up to it's name today and was a rather murky brown colour rather than the turquoise blue it is known for. I forgot to load the cache onto my app before descending on the path down to the cache. Meaning that with no data reception down there couldn't read the cache details. However I was able to rely on the GPS to direct me without all the info, so all was good. It was all quite obvious once I got there actually. Great container!

Thanks AmyGVSL & Co for an interesting cache.

I was going to Geelong today on a road trip with my brother-in-law but it didn't happen, so I grabbed some lunch and had a picnic by the lake and found this cache. I have never heard and seen so many Wattlebirds in one place, the Gums are flowering and they feeding like crazy.
Thanks AmyGVSL & Co for bringing me here

Got to the car park and realised I had forgotten my GPS. Oh well, the phone will have to do. Went for the long walk around following the left trail from the car park with my son. Nice views of the lake and the river. Once at GZ it was an easy find. TFTC. Hi AmyGVSL & Co. Good to find another one of yours.

On an afternoon caching run with Baluke . What a great place...can see my teenagers spening some summer days here although iu suspect that water would be ICY......TFTC and bringing us here

29-Nov-13
Great location. Will have to try it out in a hot day. Big amo can needs some TBs

23-Nov-13
Enjoyed a quiet walk around the lake today, while I imagine this is a popular place on a hot summer day, I didn't meet or see anyone else while I was here - which was kind-of nice. I was not sure to take the top or bottom track and as it turned out the cache as accessible from either. Liked the container but the cache-cover made it a little easier to find, which is good sometimes. TFTC.

A nice little walk around the lake today gave us three finds for the effort. We found our co-ord's we out a little, approx 7 m but found an obvious hiding spot. What a great area to come and explore, thanks AmyGVSL & Co for the the cache. Made it most of the way around the lake without getting rained on, after finding this one the showers started again and we had to contend with the rain and the walk up the hill, all in a days work when geocaching I suppose. TFTC, great area for a cache.

Found at 6.15pm on this warm Sunday evening
What a lovely spot. Had never been to this area before.
Terrain was a bit tricky but geohubby made it and found the cache.

10-Sep-13
Tried to do this cache tonight with no such luck. The GPS put us I what I thought would be the right spot but couldn't find it. We then widened our search are another 10 meters but still with no luck. After looking for about 35 minuets or so we gave up and have dicided to come back another day.
Thanks AmyGVSL & Co for bringing us here.

Out & about today, checking up on our caches now that the weather is starting to warm up.

Thank you to everyone for maintaining this cache - it was in excellent condition!

To keep this GC out in the wild for as long as possible we have replaced the sistema container with a slightly larger ammo can. There is a new log book (please use up the smaller one first) and a few extra swaps to help it on its way.

Thanks for finding!

11-Apr-13
Having found one of the caches in Yellow Gum Park, it was now time to find the other one i.e. this cache. This one involved a lot more of a walk than the other cache (This could drive you nuts) which took me down to the lake. At the time there were only two muggles around so I didn't have much trouble in finding and accessing the cache.

Thanks to AmyGVSL & Co for putting this cache here and showing some of the Plenty Gorge which I had not seen before.

06-Apr-13
My favourite kind of cache - a bit of exercise and a nice location. Had never been here before but will definitely be back again another day just for the walk. TFTC.

This cache has been on my radar for a while so I took teh opportunit to drag the guys here for the find. A great walk to GZ. Thanks.

Run Summary
----------------------
Now that all the hot weather is over, it was nice to have a cool night to cache in and around Melbourne with Blacklegend, Quasar3671 and Rebel Acts. There have been a few caches close to Rebel Acts home that have been bugging him for a while, so I decided to base The Demolition Crew's run around these caches as well as pick up a few of our recently solved puzzle caches in inner Melbourne. I started my run north of Melbourne with Blacklegend, and when we noticed a FTF opportunity in Healesville that was still unfound a phone call was made and we were soon moving in that direction. We met up with Rebel Acts there as he had just finished work and we claimed the joint FTF. Soon after we then meeting up with Q3 after he had finished work and started the planned run

Over the course of the day/night run, 48 caches were visited with 4 DNF's and a DxT rating of 4.21 with quite a number of T5's being claimed. The number of unfound caches within 25 km's of home is now signficantly diminished, so another great night for me!

Thanks goes to all the CO's who have put the time into designing and placing their caches. I look forward to next Monday night / Tuesday morning when we will do it all again!

26-Feb-13
Nice spot for a cache, I saw a 3ft long Tiger Snake on the way down to the cache, future geocachers please take care not to disturb these guys, this is their backyard after all, not ours. A most enjoyable stroll. Cache was undisturbed and dry despite the recent rains. TFTC!

16-Feb-13
This has been my favourite cache so far! Not because of its super hiding abilities, don't get me wrong, still good. But this place was magical. We are definitely coming back.

13-Feb-13
This was my 150th Tftc!

13-Feb-13
A blitz this afternoon and evening with Erin-Rose and al.Grimes saw me find 18 new caches in one day. This one was #2, found in the early afternoon.

This took us a little time to stumble upon, but was the trip rewarding! Yellow Gum Park is beautiful, TFTC!

03-Feb-13
Easy find after a little bit of a hike.
The lake and park was desstered today so had no chance of getting caught.
Besides the signs saying that you can't swim there, I would imagine that on hot days that the lake may be full of kids and adults swimming in it in years gone by.

23-Jan-13
This one is a favourite so far. My 6yr old and 8yr old trekked around thinking this was going to be awsome and took the scenic route. Gorgeous day, a few muggles about but far enough away to not know what we were actually doing. The hints told us to go down below and down below we went. TFTC it was voted with two thumbs up by both boys. Due to Australia Day approaching we have put in a temporary tattoo into the goodies! [8)] 11:45am

19-Jan-13
Took a while to find. Not as easy as we thought

Found @1554 #2245
Out and about once more with best mate Ahomburg and today we return to a region we have cache thru but still had quite a few still to find. The start of the day looked like we would have showers but in this part of Melbourne at least it was very brief and by lunch time a rather nice sunny day.

On the walk in stopped by the lookout to admire the views of the lake and realized where the cache would be and hoped that the walk in wouldn't be too tuff. It turn out to be rather easy and was pleased to be at the edge of the lake near GZ. The cache was a quick find and with log book signed it was now time to walk onto the other one which was further south. TFTC AmyGVSL and thanks for showing me this parkland.

Find # 2386

So I wasn't holding up much hope for a great day in regards to the weather, but when you think about it, caching can be done in the rain cant it? I arranged to pick up my caching partner in crime, SedgwickDave at 8AM and head for the general area of Greensborough and surrounds. As it turned out, it was a beautiful sunny day, even hot at times. I think we had just one brief rain shower the whole day.

We parked in the nearby car park and walked in towards GZ. What a fantastic spot for a cache and a beautiful view as a bonus. Once the cache was found, GZ was a nice spot to sit and watch the world go by.

Thanks go to AmyGVSL & Co for the cache. TNLN.

30-Nov-12
Down the hill from "This could drive you nuts" we went. When we got to the lake there was a couple swimming that seemed a little put out by us walking down the track. We circled round to the area of GZ and out of sight of the muggles and made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. On our way up some more muggles where coming down. Some interesting rock formations. TFTC

27-Nov-12
This was a very enjoyable walk in the sunshine - humid after this morning's lightening storms. Had the place to myself and a quick scramble enabled me to log this cache. The terrain rating drew me here as many of my finds have required much less exertion.
I haven't explored the caches in this area and this one has inspired me to spend more time in this area in the future. Thanks and cheers!

31-Oct-12
My daughter and I found this cache ages ago, but i'm only logging it now. Excellent work on her part finding it. It's well camouflaged.

25-Oct-12
Been living in this area for 14 years and had no idea this area existed. Nice walk in to the cache site - after 5 DNFs yesterday and not one single find it was a relief to find this one today.

20-Oct-12
Found at 10:30 on the 20th of October by Ray. TNLNSL. I enjoyed a most enjoyable circuit walk around the lake. TFTC. The Nomads.

27-Sep-12
Been meaning to check this spot out for ages, when someone suggested we go for a look. TFTC.

26-Sep-12
J&MMelb met up with our Mugggle friends who we'll call The Pilchards - they have been caching with us once or twice before. We parked at the car park and we nearly did go nuts looking for that cache but eventually found it so headed off towards this one. Of course having 2 teenage boys meant they turned the earlier part which would be Terrain 1.5 into about a Terrain 4 - for us as well as we followed them to keep an eye on them!! My physio wouldnt be happy with what I climbed/slid down today lol Finally onto the main track we wound around and arrived at GZ where MMelb and Junior Pilchard climbed up much higher and harder than needed causing JMelb to have kittens!!! The boys and Mrs Pilchard searched to no avail so JMelb walked up the hill and spotted the cache form a mile off lol (rehid much better when replacing in what should be obvious to cachers but not muggles) TNLNSL As we were about to leave some local youths told us about the snakes they often see between Oct and March so future finders should keep an eye out for them!!!
TFTC AmyGVSL & Co - it's an absolutely beautiful spot and we then walked down to the lake for some arvo tea and a bit of stone skipping!
