Last find of the day. Found some great geocaches today in the Southern Highlands! Enjoyed the adventure and the beautiful scenery Left my pathtag
Ive driven past this cache countless times, so I figured it was finally time to stop and grab it! Parked nearby and wandered over, I was a little concerned it might be missing due to the destruction of nature around GZ, but the cache was located in a safe spot! -I was headed down towards Kangaroo Valley / Nowra / Kiama this afternoon and decided to take Highlands Way for a change! Less time on the HumeHighway the better, drive it too often! Stopping for a couple of caches along the way to break up the trip, including this one! Thanks for the cache
I remember my Dad pointing out Bill O'Reilly at the Sydney Cricket Ground when we first went there when I was a kid. It was very exciting to see one of the commentators in person. In more recent times I've sat in his stand at the SCG. This was my last cache for the day. I've been to various 'towns' around the Southern Highlands today. It's been quite obvious that there's been lots of rain recently as the road sides, and the potholes are full of water. Luckily I didn't have to walk through any water ...... until I got to this cache. It was very wet from the carpark to the cache. Remarkably where the cache is hidden seemed protected as the cache was damp but the logbook was completely dry!It was nice to finish my day's caching at a spot linked to Australian sporting history.TFTC # 5992
Water inside case & log was wet as bag was not sealed....Dried it inside, signed & sealed the bag & put it back where it was found.....thanks
A beautifully maintained oval here. Container quickly located at GZ; log a little damp but still able to be signed. Thanks, The Bushies!
Found on a sunny morning after cycling from Goulburn. Good toilets, covered picnic area with bbq and rubbish bin.
In a trip to Bundanoon, stopped to log a cache because we were very early. TFTC
On a wander around some of these southern highlands villages. Quick find. Cache OK
A spur-of-the-moment decision took us to Wingello to visit my sister. After leaving we called into the oval so *DustyJasperJet* could sign the cache logbook. Unfortunately, my phone had no internet to load the caches, so I put my instincts to good use. After all this time I had a rough idea of where it was located, but on reaching GZ nothing was to be uncovered. I even asked *Little Panther* who was in agreement with me. No luck so we left. I see the burnt trees and the new growth has come through fast.
Now on my computer checking on this cache, I can see why we couldn't find it haa haa - it's been relocated. I will call in again next time I pass by.

NOWTHAT THE fIRES AND CORONAVIRUS ARE NEARLY BEHIND US, WE WERE ABLE TO GO AND VISIT THIS SITE AND TRY AND WORK SOMETHING OUT AS TO WHAT COULD HAPPEN IN RESTORING IT.
unfortunately it will have to be moved over to the other side of the oval (approx. 150 mtrs) I will edit the requirements to find.

Unfortunately due to the devastating bush fires that have hit this area. This section of the oval has been drastically burnt to a sunder hence the fence and cage have dissolved. In time we will return and try and replace the cache in or near the same area.
After a few DNF thought I should go and check it out..
Not sure what cachers were looking for!!!!!!!
BUT it was exactly where it was placed by us in good condition , not even really cammoed..
Perhaps cache blindness.
Will put in a hint.

No find for us here today
No find for us here today
Was out this way and decided to do a check on it after the 1 DNF
decided it could be well and truly buried under a heap pf leaf/bark.
So have replaced in the same area but smaller (Micro) and less chance of being covered.

I came up to Wingello before sun-up to check out some dog sports happening in the forest today.
This was our first cache on the way home to Queanbeyan. The Ridgeo-pup demonstrated some dog sports of her own
Thanks for the cache, Bushies

We'd spent the night in Sydney over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, and were headed home to Canberra. Since we left so early, we decided to make a detour off the highway to find a few caches. We had a nice time, there were hardly any cars around, and no muggles to be seen.
The best kind of fence to climb when caching! Can't imagine trying to play on this court. Took nothing, left something small. TFTC!

Be to Wingello many times but never came up this way.
Interesting reading the plaque to Bill.
Who knew he was from here.
Found very quickly.

Having spent a nervous week waiting for results of my sister who is in hospital in Qld I've struck out to get a few caches and clear my head.
The day started out beautiful and clear but has come over a little cloudy. Hopefully rain will hold off as I make my way towards the coast.
A good toilet stop with a decent show rink. Dog training is currently happening. Is interesting.
This cache was quickly found in good condition. Tftc

In the area for an event and spending the day visiting some new places and enjoying the scenery. TFTC
My wife and I met up with bikerbuddy and Toriaz and had a day together in the Southern Highlands. This was our twentieth cache.
Another fact that geocaching taught me, the home town of Bill O'Reilly.
An easy find once we negotiated the fences to get to GZ.

Bikerbuddy went the long way round, round the outside of the courts, while Canary & I took a short cut across. He still got there first, possibly because we had to get the gate open!
Thanks

A road trip from Sydney to Wengello for a party. A long way, so what better way to take a break every now and then for a geocache.
We now arrived in Wingello, and we were keen to find the one and only cache in this village. My travel companion tried to find this cache before, without GPS or Smartphone app. She spend a long time looking for it, but without success.
I was more successful this time around and without a problem I spotted the black container.
Thanks for the cache.

Interesting spot to visit, would not have come here normally if it wasn't for a Geo, so thank you for placing one here.
Just moseying around in this beautiful part of the world in lovely autumn sunshine, coffee shops, scenic places, black cockatoos and some geocaches. Thanks for this one. Baggie needs replacing but didn't have a spare.
Out to visit a venue in the southern highlands so a few caches to find as well.
I can't remember the last time I walked across a tennis court...especially a clay court (A little disused though)
Thanks again, The Bushies.

Approach to GZ looked a little scrubby, and would attract the attention of some council workers on their lunch break so took a more roundabout route across the tennis courts. Easy find once at the cache site then back along the fenceline now the muggles had moved on.
Today I score the day off,so it was caching time for me )
I starting not far past Fitzroy falls, working my way across to Wingello, over to the Hume, back up to the Illawarra hwy then finishing at Mossvale.
Once underway I was in the zone,It was one of those days when everything just fell into place,
I managed to find all the caches I had in my sights with no DNFs plus picked up a few extras on the side ,A total of 38,my best day yet!,37 Traditions and I squeezed in 1 multi along the way,not a bad days effort.
Thanks to all the COs for such an awesome day, every cache I found was in great condition

I haven't been geocaching for a while due to one thing or another, so Finalf29 decided to get me out and about and clear my head. It was the best thing for me...beautiful day, always excellent company and I'm in a much better positive space. Got fourteen today, I love geocaching!
This was my seventh for the day. I have been here so many times to watch and score my oldest playing cricket...great wins and losses, in the wet, fog, cold and scorching heat, the day the magpie swooped anyone on the southern side of the field and when he got his first 5/15 in bowling (he was 16 and playing up in 2nd grade seniors for Mittagong against Wingello)...Great memories! Thanks
