#1710

This was the only find for the day. I have been slowly ticking off the missing 360-degree bearings and this cache is sitting on one of the missing ones so I decided to aim for this cache today. I was really surprised I could park so close to the cache and although I was looking for a visible X, I quickly spotted something that was hiding the cache. SL. TFTC.

Day 2 of our Canberra Day invasion saw us start early in Bargo and finish in Penrith for the night.

I was down with a migraine for most of the morning but after the good drugs, I was much better by the end of the day when I could contribute a bit more.

We spent the day picking up trads, multis, solved puzzles & wherigos along with the odd AL thrown in for good measure.

All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Picton & Penrith Canberra Day weekend Invasion. Day 3. For the next chapter of this trip there were two farewells and an early start fro breakfast in Picton before we got underway. Today the group was made up of Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Barb2e, Isopeda, Smitten Granny and Contesta. We still had a plenty of caches to do and we got underway on a warming day. The group signed CDI23 the same as yesterday. In addition to all the caches we had planned for the day, we also had to get to Penrith in time for dinner. We did a mixture of roadside traditional caches and the GFA series. We ended the day with caches around Warragamba. Another long fun day caching in this region.

As we reached Wallacia, the caches became mostly part of the GFA series and we did a bit of a loop to visit as many of them as possible. We managed a break in Luddenham then finished the loop via Mulgoa.

Thanks for the cache ozpirate

Lovely sunny day to be out and about. This will be a generic log as time keeps getting away from me. Really enjoyed the drive around and the lovely views.

Long weekend trip away. Looking forward to new scenery. Signing as CDI-23-Canberra Day Invasion. Also joined by Everest High.

Thanks for getting me out and about ozpirate

Signed as CDI - Canberra Day Invasion. isopeda, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, fitzy_1965, Joolay, MinnieK, Contesta, Smittengranny. Day three of the long weekend (Canberra Day) of caching. We had solved the puzzles in the weeks and months before this trip, ALs, multis and some of the Wherigos were done at location of course.
Sorry about the generic logs - logging after days of crazy driving and navigating with not much time between the caches.

This was on my whishlist as it allows me to claim another county. Smile Quick find.

I'm out here to pick up some of the GFA series today but geographically it would be silly not to pop over and grab the older nearby caches. This was a bit of a disappointment though, with an absent CO and now onto a second-generation throwdown it seems like it should have been swept off the board years ago.

It must be a bit difficult for members to get out here at the moment with the seemingly ubiquitous side-road roadworks in the area. There were a few cars parked on the roadside so I thought I'd be fine to do the same and walk up to get the cache. When I got here it was obvious where to start looking and I soon found the current cache, though at first glance I thought it might just be rubbish. When I picked it up it made a noise like it was rubbish, but the contents were cachey-fresh.

Not much of a find but I put the work in so I'm claiming it.

We are on another short (four day) caching holiday in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, staying for three nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains. Planning to collect some of the solved GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and Wallacia, then visiting the Blue Mountains from Springwood to Wentworth Falls (over two days) for numerous Adventure Labs and other targeted caches. This was our 1st find of the day (day 1), and 1st find of the holiday.

Our first cache stop for the holiday, and a nice quick find in the same X spot we had checked last time and found nothing. Thanks Brew & crew for the Xcellent replacement. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC ozpirate.

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Emu Plains for a short three day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains, and will be continuing on with our caching adventures in the areas between Castlereagh and Warragamba. Will be concentrating our efforts on collecting more of the Penrith geoart caches and the Warragamba geoart caches that we missed or DNFed on our previous visit, and also some more of the “Band Caches” puzzle caches and “Suburbs of Penrith LGA” traditional caches.

Yet another DNF at this one. We are clocking up nearly as many DNF's as finds for our holiday start, which is very disappointing.

I'm housesitting in the area for a few days so using this as an opportunity to grab some caches out here for my daily streak instead of finding one closer to home. I'd come by here before on a different afternoon to find the gates closed but today access was open! I pulled up right next to GZ and jumped out to look in the obvious spot. I saw the cache but could also tell it hadn't had any love in awhile, I had to remove some spiderwebs first and luckily they were no longer in use! Cache and contents are in good condition, thanks for the cache!!

Yay! Gates open this afternoon and as nice simple hide full of goodies! Tftc!

07-Aug-20
The gates were open today, though very few people around. Interesting to see al the works around for the Airport construction.

Sadly someone had left this cache a little open and an eight-legged friend had taken up residence. I was able to encourage said friend along telling it to find a better home last people should be scared and stompy. Cleaned up swag of former webby residence, signed log and set off for home now that it looks like the rain is setting in.

TFTC.

Found at 12:24hrs. This cache was out in the open lying on the ground. Everything is absolutely soaked and damaged. It stank so bad. I signed the old log (a feat I know, given how soggy it was). About to put it back where I suspect it should have been, when I recalled I had a few pre-made caches in the boot for this purpose. I signed the new log book, placed the brand spankin' new cache nearby. It is now a camo painted sistema container, with a geocache sticker on the front. I hope this is okay with everyone? I will dispose of the old cache responsibly. See photo's for more info.

Quick tubular grab while the model yachties were enjoying the consistent breeze at the small dam. Many thanks to the CO **ozpirate** for establishing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to enjoy, see and visit new places with a hunt in mind. And to the land owner for being so co-operative in permitting a geo cache on their land.

Heading home after an all-day conference at Penrith, had just an hour or so of daylight left to grab a few caches and figured a 1/1 should guarantee a smilie. Pulling into driveway and heading towards GZ, I was a bit concerned of private/member only property at first but quick find without going too far and looking overly suss.

I was on a mission today to collect some missing dates for my "hidden on a particular calendar day" challenge/ I did pick up a few extras on my way between them too.

there were a few people sailing their boats but they weren't very interested in what I was doing. I could spot the cache from a distance so I've tucked it in a bit more. TFTC

I remember coming here when l was little, my best friend in primary school is part German part Hungarian, they had a couple of family events here. Lovely grand place it is. I had no idea what l was looking for as l got closer to GZ. I was confused by the map as l looked at it wondering if it was within private grounds, which it is, so l drove through the gates and got within a few metres of GZ. There were some men who were using model boats on the pond/lake and they looked in my direction a few times, but l have a feeling l was stealth enough. TFTC its a nice size =)

I was being tortured to have to spend 2 days at the Novotel in Rooty Hill for a work conference and I found the was a couple hours to spare before dinner.
