Found lying in the open beside the date palm....so a quick find. Have replaced cache out of sight. TFTC
Came through town, and seen this one previously... alas always too late to stop..
A run around town for cache, so stopped here too.
Took awhile to spot, with zillions of vehicles passing...

Owl was heading north for an epic adventure with Sushilord to clear out some LGA areas for a certain challenge cache. Having arrived in Port Augusta she needed to kill some time before he finished work. Caching! Great bit of history here and some judicious shoe-tying got the cache.

Heading back to Adelaide after working in the area yesterday and decided to grab a cache or three early in the morning before hitting the trail back to the big smoke. This one was first on the list and parked nearby, wandered to GZ and while reading the information recovered a cache, signed log and replaced. Very few even 4W muggles passing so it was an easy find.

Found by Mary & David at 0820. Oh, that sort of date. At first, just reading the name, we thought we'd have to confess to cringe worthy stories. Having just driven to Darwin and back, we can acknowledge the work done by the cameleers in exploration and transport. Gets a FP for the history. Our thanks to Dinko1974.
Thanks to Dinko1974 for the cache.
Found during our five week journey half-way around Australia, for the NT Experience OzMega event, somewhere between: ACT -> NSW -> Qld -> NT -> SA -> Vic -> NSW -> ACT.
So many stories to tell. So many experiences had. So little time to mention them all.
Sincerely

###Trip to the *Red Centre Experience* 2017###
Unfortunately, half of our team is home-based due to work commitment, the other half is lucky enough to be Alice Springs bound, in the company of Team Indiana08. Therefore, for a couple of weeks, our team will be attending some events and possibly finding the odd cache in different states.
---
Being stuck in Port Augusta with car problems for a very rainy long weekend was not on our plan. While still waiting, we used this beautiful sunny ANZAC day to get out of the confines of the dry caravan, explore the city a bit and find a few caches.
Wow, 140 years old, the palm tree doesn't look its age. The cache was quickly found in the company of Team Indiana08, signed and returned.
Thanks Dinko1974 for highlighting this landmark

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy and we visited at Woomera on the way. Interesting little town. In the morning we found some caches from Port Augusta and more caches logged on the way. next night we spent in the underground motel.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

This is what caching is all about for me - teaching me and/or showing me things I was the none the wiser about. How amazing that this has survived so long, especially considering the proximity to the house next door and our species' desire to develop, develop, develop! Thanks for bringing me here. We were able to play the tourist quite well for this one.
Alice trip 2017. Day 5. With Sol de Lune and LuckL10n we started caching around Pt Augusta and Stirling before heading to Whyalla via a few of the short trails. I saw a piece about the cameleers on TV recently so i was glad to see this feature today.
Thanks.

#6472 - 11:45; Day 7 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a night in Port Augusta, today's plan was to cache in and around Port Augusta and Stirling North before heading south towards Whyalla for a couple of nights and produced 88 finds along with only 4 DNFs. After a circuit around the back blocks of Stirling North we were now back in town collecting a few more. No problems with this one, once at GZ we read up on this piece of history as well a grabbing a cache. TFTC Dinko1974
On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

On our way from Tasmania to the Mega at Alice Springs we stopped in Port Augusta to find some caches and this was one we found. An interesting read. Located the cache and admired the palm. TFTC
Upon approaching GZ I saw nothing that may be 'threaded' except parts on the Speed camera and I wasn't gonna search that with the traffic about including a Police car that stopped at the lights [:o]. I pretended to be taking pics of the Palm Tree then something else caught my eye and I quickly discovered there was something 'threaded' and I was soon holding it Signed it's log at 16:44 on Sun 12 Mar 2017. My last cache for today. Time to go grab some Bourbon & Cola cans and head back to the Cabin Park to retire for the day [^] TFTC Dinko1974
Took a bit and clue fit but not what I thought. Here on Christmas Day at 42C with HennyGeo (white Xmas at home) in amazing Australia from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada . TFTC and a Merry Christmas.
TFTC geocaching with SwagHo. We are discovering Australia one cache at a time. Holidaying from Canada having great time
Well hidden but found OK. Quite a busycorner so I had to patiently wait out a few phases of the lights between finding and signing and replacing, so that no-one saw the full sequence of my actions.

I would never have guessed that the palm tree was around 150 years old. Interesting that the Afghans had seeds or even fresh dates to throw down.

Quick easy find, love this type. easy to look over if you don't know what you are looking for.
Whilst searching for this cache was spotted by a Security Officer who guessed the reason for our visit to this location and was advised that this cache has not been at this spot for sometime and is now missing.
This was an easy find, not so sure that the cache was in the correct spot. I did return it to exactly where I found it . Fingers crossed!
Another great find while in the area on holiday today.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Soon had the container found and log signed.

Thankfully a quick find after doing a presentation at the education office across the road. Spotted the clever hide and had a quick read of the history, if probably never have noticed this otherwise.

Thanks for replacing this one. Was a nice easy find while touring the last few caches of Port Augusta with diggers09. TFTC
A new cache container and a new clue. After several attempts at previous containers and the council cleaning up the pests !I have decided to go a more sneaky approach to a hide. Good luck and happy caching.
Hunted this one as it was in my GPS without knowing recent history, picked up by my Pocket Query as an active cache. Can I please request this one to be disabled until its replacement is complete.
