Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1500. Got held up with a muggle dog walker here. Just wanted a yarn about his 2 animals. In good condition. SL Tnx Earthbound Chief.
I had been to Langwarren for an appointment and afterwards thought I would do a little caching in the Chelsea / Carrum area as I don't get here all that often... and ended up with a rather frustrating afternoon. After one "find" and two "walk aways" because of muggles, it was good to get to a cache that I had a chance of finding. There were a few muggles around but they were sufficiently far away that was able to find the cache and sign the log without attracting their attention. Thanks **Earthbound Chief** for the cache... and, more particularly, the history lesson.
Parked in a nearby estate and walked along the paths to GZ where the cache was soon discovered after reading hint. No muggles about today. Thanks Earthbound Chief for placing the cache and for sharing this interesting piece of aviation history.
This cache took us for a walk around the wetlands, giving us enough time to read all about Bob. LTEC quickly came up trumps with this one. Thanks Earthbound Chief
Great historical background story about an interesting character. I have done the other two in this series and have now completed the trifecta! Thanks for placing and maintaining this vintage cache for our enjoyment. TNLNSL with Snips and Co.Cache on!
For the whole working day I had been working hard trying to solve the Brain puzzles in the area. I wanted to complete them all, so they would be the target of my after work geocaching run. However after only completing 1, I needed a new plan. As such I thought I'd try and fix a number of DNFs.
With the sun shining and no clouds on the horizon, my plan was a go. Another cache that I had DNFed years ago during a lunch break. Don't think I ever logged a DNF, because I never really gave it the time it required as I was rushing back to work. Today with the coast clear, it was a quick find.
Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief

New container has been sourced and just need to get there to replace - 7 days grace please
### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

Hi there Earthbound Chief,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

I decided to come down to the Patterson Lakes area today after work to try and enjoy the beautiful weather and find a few caches. I decided to cut across the field to get to GZ, which turned out to be a mistake as last weeks rain made everything very wet and soggy.
There were several muggles out today enjoying the nice weather. I ended up having to wait quite a bit at GZ in order for the coast to be clear for me to get a good search and retrieve the cache. However, once all the muggles were gone the cache was quickly found.
Unfortunately, all of the moisture we got over the past week has caused the logbook to be fairly soggy, but I was able to still sign it. Thanks for the fun today and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in pretty decent shape, the attachment mechanism still seemed fairly strong, unfortunately all of last week's rain has caused the logbook to be fairly soggy.

I think last week's rain has impacted this one as I found the logbook to be fairly soggy today.
We had visited this site in August but had no luck finding the cache. After reading Adriaan's recent log we are back again and this time we found the container within minutes of arriving. I think I had been expecting a certain type of container and I ended up being a little blinkered in my search. But all good now and we have a smiley face. Thanks to Earthbound Chief for the cache.
This is an odd location, but maybe it's one of a series now mostly gone? I had to wait ages for runners and kids on scooters to go past. I guess it's another tick in the box. Thanks for keeping my walk interesting!

Find #13004
After parkrun and the compulsory post parkrun caffination, I decided a bit of a loop walk in the area might be good.
Not sure where the previous DNFs were searching..
Quick easy find. TFTC. TNLN.
Massive thanks go to Earthbound Chief for placing this one.

Dug around a number of different poles but sadly didn’t find it. The golfers walking past thought we were a bit odd but sadly with nothing to show for it. Hopefully it’s just us being blind and not a missing cache
I have run past this so many times at parkrun...this is hilarious! Came at the right time to find, only bicycles going past.
Out for a Friday night treasure hunt I was in the area and called in to find this one.
Found on the way back home to Western Victoria after a couple of days in the Frankston area. It was getting pretty warm but Chook wasn't the only idiot out there walking the trail in the sun. After waiting out some muggles to pass, it was a nice quick find. TFTC Earthbound Chief.
OHC had found this one quite some years ago but was more than happy to come with me to find this one. Rather windy but a beautiful day to be taking a stroll. Thank you for maintaining this cache for us to find.
Lots of people on the track here so need to wait for the right moment. Unfortunately didn't sign as the log was wet and the ants have nested inside the cache. Thanks for the hide
TFTC - nice spot and have walked past this 1000s of times. Lots of muggles here so had to wait to retrieve and put back. Signed logged book and replaced.
Found this cache earlier today live in the area and glad I finally got to finding this TYFC
Went with teachnpeeps, good to find local caches during lock downs. That’s for the cache.
Found it but forgot a pen (again!). Quite a few people around so took some waiting and stealth from Master 8!
Been to Dayboro from Cairns to attend the Mega, quick trip to Sth. Australia now turned tail and heading slowly back up north. 8 May 2021 12:41 pm Tyfc Earthbound Chief total caches now 2097
Found whilst out bike caching on a glorious Friday morning.
Cache was on the ground rather than attached as intended. The attraction is not very strong. Replaced in intended position.

Disabled due to Covid Stay at Home restrictions. Will re-enable when restrictions ease.
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
I was hoping to able to avoid this step. Although exercise is ok, beaches, playgrounds, parks etc are being closed, and we are being asked to stay home.
The possibility to transmit the virus by surface contact exists, and with so little being known how long viral RNA stays viable on surfaces why take a risk?
At the end of the day, geocaching is a game, it is non essential and we are dealing with a serious Public Health emergency.
As we keep seeing people continuing to search for our caches I feel the only responsible thing to do is disable all our caches to discourage this until the crisis passes.
Thanks.

Came back for the fourth time and found it almost straight away. The hint leads you straight to the cache although we interpreted it incorrectly the other times.
Out on this beautiful new years day to do some caching after a bit of a break. A beautiful walk here and a nice quick find, TFTC!
Ducked over from the car park to find the cache, we love uncomplicated finds. There were plenty of people out playing today, so we had to find a gap in the foot/cycle traffic. Thank you EC!

Well over 10k steps today.

Getting friends out to try and get them caching. Nice little one to get them started. Always great to read a bit of history that goes with finding caches.
This one is missing it’s lid but it looks like it’s tolerating the elements well as long as it’s put back on its side.
Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief

Both my boyfriend and I found this on a bike ride together along the trail, the cache is around the area of the hint not exactly on due to the fact that the cache is damaged and cannot protect itself against the rain, great find though.
Pretty obvious hiding place but surprisingly I’ve never seen it, I’ve been on that path so many times.
Doing ParkRun today at Chelsea with GeoSon. I worked out where it was on the way out, but I wanted to inspect further on the way back. GPS was a little off and with the hint, I knew where to look.
I had to “stretch” in the area and with heaps of Muggles, I could locate it, but not wanting to draw attention to the hide, I didn’t extract it.
No pen on me whilst running, so I couldn’t write in it.
Visited 2 TB.

You’ve certainly got some knowledge tucked away of this part of Melbourne.

I will admit being a newbie but on a hot day and about 45 min of looking gave up. 5th pole from which corner ? River end or other . Any more hints would b appreciated
Lots of early runners this morning along this popular walking /jogging /bike track. Was down here for a Netball tournament and needed a cache for the day (St Pat’s day also ) soon found and logged. The log is protected but lid has come off. Thanks Earthbound chief for the cache and great story of Carey and his flying.
Awesome. Container still hasnt been repaired though. I replaced it upside down to help avoid water getting inside
I love Carey's customer service - returning the next day to finish the joy ride!
I parked in the nearby carpark and being short sighted, couldn't tell if there was a fence at the end of the oval, so took the long way around on the trail. The hint was really helpful and I soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks Earthbound Chief

The bike path this cache is on is outside the back gate of our friend's place who live about a 1km away. GZ is full of spiky bushes so take care. We put the cache back up side down as the lid is missing - logbook is holding up remarkably well though. We worked up a sweat on a 35 degree day to find this cache so we headed down to Chelsea beach for a fabulously refreshing swim
#1477 I'd come across this one when in the area about 6 months ago but decided I'd keep it for a P366 day. Well that day has come and I had an excuse to be in the general area so detoured after my purchase and headed off for this one. Still took my a min or two to find it as it had fallen on the ground and was not very visible. Picking it up I was then having fun trying to remove the log from the cache (which incidentally has lost it's lid) As I got the log out there was what I thought was an orangy rubbery spider came out with it which dropped on the ground. Not having my glasses on I thought that looks pretty realistic the way it sprang open as it fell, someone must have had fun squeezing that in the tin. It was then I realised that I had a second one crawling on the back of my hand and the reason they had looked so realistic was because they were! I was then thinking was that slight pain on the back of my hand from a bite but then I remembered scratching my hand in the branches as I was retrieving the cache. After signing the log I returned the cache to to it's proper position upside down to keep the contents dry. Hopefully the surprises wont be able to find their way back home! TNLNSL Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief, Could have done wthout the surprise..
Out after our wedding anniversary dinner just grabbing a couple of caches. Again the wife spotted this one and again I was to retrieve. Tftc
Love a cache with a story. As we approached GZ, we checked the hint and located the cache easily. The container is missing its lid but the log is surprisingly in very good condition. It has been pouring the last few days and this little treasure is holding up well. TFTC Earthbound Chief.

Out for an arvo of caching with lochb in her brand new car, what comfy seats and it’s all shiny and new... As the day wore on it didn’t look so clean, especially under our shoes ...sorry lb!
We parked in the nearby estate and walked in to GZ. The phones and GPS’s had GZ on the other side of the track but the clue put us in the right spot... we had some discussion about the number but then realised what we thought was “something” wasn’t lol

Had to visit Southland today so I thought I'd drive just a little bit further and search out one of the last unfound Earthbound Chief's caches that I haven't found as yet.
Co-ords were a little wonky but the hint worked a treat. The container is showing it's age what with the missing lid and the plastic bag is ripped down the side. The log is fine for now but I think a flying visit may be in order before winter proper sets in.

I'd headed to Melbourne on the 5th May for a weekend stay to see Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Instead there was a mammoth change in my plans when the Corolla suddenly needed new brakes [xx(] which led to needing new tyres [^] which led to needing a new wheel bearing [xx(]
So a weekend turned into almost 3 full weeks and my HUGE thanks to the very patient and tolerant kmace who not only provided accommodation for myself but also for Rex [:X][:X]
Having your home invaded by a rabid geocacher who gets irritated when they have no car to go and find caches because it is in the workshop [xx(] and a pup who shreds his toys all over the house is not an easy ask for a day or two: let alone 20 odd days! [:X]
Rex also loved the beaches and the seagulls so there were many walks on the beach, some in pouring rain and gusting winds but that's what being a dog owner is about [^]
During this time some fantastic caches were found and some adventures occurred [^]
My thanks to all of the COs for the fun and the finds [^]
16th day of the trip and only 1 DNF although I only had 5 cache finds since I woke late and then spent hours at the off lead dog beach with Rex.
Picked up a couple that have been taunting me as we drive to and from the beach
A lovely walk in the dark at 6pm and a quick find too
Interesting history lesson and I now wonder if GC6MF10 Gawlers got mail is a result of Carey's mail service[?]

Nice and found. Quiet path is perfect time for me to search it. Thanks Earthbound Chief for the cache.
Out and about tonight driving my younger brother around as he and his mates have a couple friendly drinks together as all younger adults do. But with him pleading for me to drive him home as "I am cheaper than an uber". Eitherway with that in mind i thought that I would go and do some night time caching north of frankston. Being a relatively untouched area by me I thought why the hell not.
Rather slow find this one but a find nonetheless TFTC
