Not sure if this is still here, might have been damaged by the storms we’ve recently had.
Quick find during a quick stop to check out the airport. We also met Percy the airport cat.
The log in this cache was damp and difficult to write on.
It is the second day of Canberra's Invasion of Tumut. It was a bright sunny day and I'm more relaxed with no plans made. Pa, the friendly but often impatient muggle, is however ready to go again after a day off, so I left it to him to plan the route we should take, filling in gaps that I hadn't previously cached.
It was great fun meeting up with fellow cachers around the traps, walking with them at times and exchanging hints , stories and ideas . Thanks to all who attended this weekend adding to a most enjoyable experience.
Unfortunately though, I feel as if I have logged more DNFs this weekend than in the rest of my caching life.
This obviously was not one of them, so the log was signed, usually as SG, as I often do in small caches to save space or when I am in a hurry.
Many thanks to COs for placing these caches which added to my experiences.

There was a small group of "us" heading off to meet more of "us" in Tumut for the weekend. Our merry band of misfits was made up of MTrax, Tankengine, Joolay, Aquilus1 and myself. In the car we all thought of a name that we could call our gang, but in the end we decided it was a Canberra Invasion Trip that we were on so just went with CBR5. We signed logs either indiviually or with the group name.
It was an awesome weekend all up, with lots of fun with friends. We cached all day then met up with the rest of the Invasion Team for dinner Saturday night, then cached some more on Sunday until it was time to head home.
**The Cache** This cache was a straight forward find, however the log will need replacing as it was in pretty bad condition. Sorry that we had nothing with us. Tftc TEAM DENMAR!!!

Found with dty73, Aquilus1, Joolay and Mtrax on our Canberra invasion of Tumut and surrounds! (Log signed as CBR5). Of course, we also had a lot of other Canberra cachers in town this weekend, and we all had a dinner on Saturday night at the pub! It was a great weekend, and I think a lot of us "cleaned out Tumut" The log is all but paper mache and needs to be replaced... Thanks for the cache TD.
Off I go with the Canberra geomob for a Tumut invasion for the weekend Caching, dinner at the pub, lots of laughs and more caching made for a fantastic weekend with a great bunch of people
The place was deserted and I saw the hide straight away for the signing [^] Saw a helicopter take off on the drive here.
Thanks for the hide, TEAM DENMAR

Nice one again. Not too many places to put it, though. This turned out to be our last one. We found it quickly, then took our supplies back to the cabin. We decided to go out again, but smashed a tyre on a large boulder hidden in some brush as I pulled off the road for on-coming traffic. Never mind. TFTC.
Camped in Tumut for a couple of days. Hot day today, off to tackle some caches in the area. Log sheet was full so have replaced it. Our 7000th. Cache. TFTC
A quick find here. This cache's log may need replacing seeing that the present log is a ticket of some kind and full. TFTC.
It was an early start to the day when I set out with Aquilus1 at 0600 on Sunday morning (04/01/2018) to cache Tumut with a side trip to Gundagai. In all we travelled 520kms and it took almost 16 hours to visit 70 plus caches with 65 finds. A long but very enjoyable day. Some of the highlights of the day included visiting Junction Bridge (a Truss Bridge built in the 1800s), Googarragandra River Suspension Bridge (Built in 2006 and Spanning 51..8 meters), Tumut River Grey-headed Flying Fox Colony, Tumut Rail Station and the Tumut River. We had a little time to also visit the Old Gundagai Jail built in 1859 and the Old Flower Mill built in the 1848. Aquilus1 took a photo of me at the Brungle Centenary Park using my poker to poke the cache out of its hiding spot. We had lunch at Gundagai McDonalds and snacks at Subway. This is a generic log due to the volume of all the caches that we found on the day. Thanks to Aquilus1 for a fantastic day of caching and thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of 31st January 2018 my average was only 20 words per log, which seems a long way to the 100 target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 2350 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including today), the average log length is just over 50. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my gaol before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.

It was an early start to the day that saw Darksidedan and myself heading to Tumut for the day with a side trip of some Gundagai caches as well as we travelled through. I had been keen to head off for a caching trip and Tumut looked ideal and definitely didn't disappoint. The scenery as we traveled through the area was everything I had hoped it would be and the clear fast flowing rivers beautiful as they flowed through the middle of it all.
A long but very enjoyable day, so many highlights and although we covered a large area and many caches I'm pleased to know there are many more so a return trip sometime is definitely going to happen.
A few spiders to watch for - the orb was a big one but cache retrieved ok. Thanks for the cache TEAM DENMAR.

Late afternoon find after work and before heading into town for a beer. All good at GZ. Many thanks Team Denmar
A plan was hatched to go and pick up some caches in Tumut over the weekend with Rapidlywild.
So after work we set out on the trek.
Nice quick find here, signing duties performed and on our way again.

Plans were put into place for a weekend down at Tumut with one party of the FurfacesLL ladies. We headed off Friday after work and came home Sunday afternoon. We had a great weekend wandering around Tumut and surrounds seeing lots of things. The rivers were all flowing nicely and they were very clear. If it was hotter, im sure we would have taken a dip
No issues locating this one today, signed and replaced.

Day ten of our High Country holiday. Another sunny day at Tumut with Bettyboo3747
Got out the deadly treadlies for a relative early morning ride along the river then up to the mountain bike tracks (no one told me they were up the top of the hill!)
We then travelled north and east of town for the odd cache.
An interesting little Airport, lots of things happening there today.
Still not sure who Bill was (or what he did)
Thanks, Robmc.

# 10010. Unfortunately our last full day here in lovely Tumut. We had our early morning bike ride, collecting some caches on the way and then headed out in the geo-chariot this afternoon to find a few more. It has been a good day with me finding my 10,000th cache along the way.
A nice stone monument to someone here before we headed to GZ for a quick find. Took old and full log sheets and left the current one (a lottery ticket I think it was).
Thanks TEAM DENMAR

My wife spotted it first then sent me in to retrieve it. She loves planes so was glad for an excuse to visit the airport and takes some pics. TFTC
Leaving Tumut and heading back to Canberra. It was raining but we soldiered on in our wet weather gear. A quick find with Chocolistick03. Thanks Team Denmar.
A great place. I love planes and flying. I didn't realise the airport was so big. Thanks TEAM DENMAR
Quick find on our day trip to Tumut. Said Hi to a driver who was looking at me with suspicion as I was leaving - he appeared happy with that as I am a innocent looking guy. TFTC Team Denmar.
A bit chilly this morning, but as the sun was out, we decided on a drive to Adelong,
Tumut and Gundagai to pick up a few caches.
With lots of lovely scenery and a variety of cache hides, we had a good day out.
Most of the caches were found quickly, with only a few hides a little tricky.
Many thanks for placing this cache, TEAM DENMAR, for us and others to find.

My 200th Cache and the first time I flew to go geocaching. Took my two boys and one of their mates for a flight out from Canberra. Beautiful day for flying. Packed a picnic lunch, did some Scout badge work on ... "Air Activities" of course. Used my new Explorist 710 for the first time to find this cache.
A brilliant day. TFTC.
There are a few more near here... we'll be back.

Looked up logged a returned. Lots of hellicopters here at the moment. Thanks TEAM DENMAR FTC.
Found by Mary & David at 0925. A vintage light aircraft was doing circuits just for our benefit. Two helicopters on the ground reminded us that, however remote a town is these days, medical help is always available. Nobody else about in sight of GZ though, so a quick and easy find. Our thanks to TEAM DENMAR.
Finally arrived in Tumut and grabbed a few more cache before it was dark This being one of them.
We stayed in the Russellee B&B so this was a very close one to our accommodation! Found it after parking in the spot suggested in the hint, tftc

3 out of 4 a good morning for me - now back to my second home at Cootamundra husband landed safely
Found on our Tumut trip. Another short drive-by cache on the way back to Canberra. Parked outside and quickly walked in, for a very quick find. Hopefully anyone watching don't get suspicious. TFTC TEAM DENMAR!
[:(!] Went for a weekend caching run, left Wagga about 5.30am and did a circuit through Adelong, Tumut and Gundagai arriving back at Wagga about 6.30pm the following day and breaking the journey by spending the night in Tumut, an early start for the second day, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

Nice easy find. For a very small town Tumut has quite a busy little airport. Thanks for the cache.
Parked close but hat to walk a bit of climb the fence. Nice hide easy to find but safe from muggles.
Got sidetracked by the beautiful spiders webs with the glistening dew on them. Perfect. Nicely hidden cache was a bonus - thanks.

Out for a caching adventure to Tumut with Albida and Sol de Lune, drove from Canberra and then stayed in Adelong for the next and continued on to Tumut the next day.
Another quick stop and I wonder whats the diff between an areodrome and an airport?

So here I was, 750 years after the first "Airport" movie was released [:o]
Airport 2720 promised to have all the drama and suspense of the original Hollywood franchise
Burt Lancaster is just a head in a jar now [:o]
So I didn't expect to find this cache on autopilot !
There were muggles present in the terminal nearby.
Seems Tumut International is undergoing some renovations
Maybe "Virgin" or Quaint-ass is modernising the terminal for the start of FIFO fruit picking operations at Batlow
Hey!! You never know !!
Apple seam gas operations might be in the pipeline too
I managed to convince the muggles that I was just making a lunchtime phone call and wandered to a spot where I could grab the cache
When will I stop hanging around airports ?
After 30 years of working at them, they are still interesting places
A quick and easy find while waiting at the gate.

The last time I was at this airport was with the gliding club and that was a good 25 years ago. The airport looks a lot smaller now than then and it, the airport, is unusual in not having a high chain mesh right around it like other airports seem to have. The cache was found, the helicopters admired and my memory had yet another visit. Thanks Team Denmar
Used a stick to help me this one. Pleased i did, their were some angry creepies hanging around.
