Logs
I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi card7ff*boy
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

A couple of large trees had recently been cut down, so unsure if that has affected the cache
We are maintaining this for the CO and went there to check it on 10 Feb and it isn't there again. In view of all the alterations the council have done we think that maybe the time has come to archive it. So we emailed the CO but haven't heard a reply yet. So treat it as temporarily archived until we hear from the CO.
Fabulous view, but we couldn't find the cache unfortunately. Struggled a bit with hint so not sure we were in the right place.
Took the family a while to find, still no guard but pretty simple in the end .
Walking the park on a midweek break to NP...found this after circuitous up and down route...but no pen. Photo taken. Tftc.
Found it after a second go at it - Haven’t signed the log yet as we didn’t have a pen but will some back another day.
Yes it certainly wasn't there. So we have put in a new cache but sorry no small guard only a bit of bark.
Took us quite a few minutes of scrambling around but then I spotted something - not a US marine though! TFTC
Wee bit harder with all the different levels, good spot, have put back with log book
No other props there any more, but not too hard to spot cache with a bit of scrabbling around.
Got it
Took a bit of effort to locate the cache.
The guards men must have be relieved of his
Duty as he’s awol .
Soon had it in hand.
First time for to visit this city my little girl
Really had a great time at the park and zoo.

I had a DNF here in January trying to locate this cache during the Festival Of Lights. Today it was a quick find (more good luck than good skills) on a bright, sunshiney Taranaki day. The log was full, but also torn and very crumpled. I have replaced it with a nice shiney new waterproof log. TFTC
Found this one a while ago with a friend and came back to log it on our own but its gone. Perhaps Mr marine has been deployed lol
Awesome cache but it needs maintenance. Soldier is gone and needa more log in paper
Once I stopped looking for a guard it was a relatively straightforward find and replace.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 182nd cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, had been up the West Coast of the South Island ... had been 'round the mountain' & were now heading back to Auckland ... had stayed the night in New Plymouth ... went for a bit of a walk round Pukekura Park to grab some caches before headding away ... quick & easy find ... another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,916 for us.
Cache has seen better days and the log is quite damp. Managed to find a spot to add our name though and enjoyed the sound of tonight's band warming up. TFTC
Look under the grennnarey and on the ground around big branches and trees. Look when dry or less damp.
Soldier seems to have gone AWOL.! Log is very small and probably needs replacing, but great spot! TfTC
Found by the youngest member of our group. Not sure why a tampon was inside???? Might be something else there now
Great cache thanks. We have left a travel bug that we have had since before lock down, brought down from Auckland.
Well I was spotted by a muggle (aka Adam) while searching in the bushes. After a quick chat about what I was doing I had an extra pair of enthusiastic eyes looking for the cache. Guess who found it!!! Yep there's now a newbie hooked into the Geocaching world. Thx Adam for the adventure. Looking forward to seeing your new geocaching name pop up.
Cache well hidden and all dry, and now tucked away again. TFTC.

It took us a long time to find this cache. The first part of the hint didn't help us at all, but we eventually interpreted the middle part correctly, and then soon found the cache. TFTC
Found it while in Taranaki for Waitangi long weekend and doing Adventure Lab in the park too. Visited this spot during cricket game. TFTC
26 January 2020 12:52. Another one which mocked me last time I visited, what a difference a couple of more years caching and sheer bloody mindedness makes! Tftc
On a weekend trip to New Plymouth to have a look around and see the lights in Pukekura Park so it was a good opportunity to grab a few caches too. The park was starting to get busier with people arriving to see the lights, however GZ was nice and quiet this evening and so after a quick search the cache was located. All in good order, thanks for the cache card7ff*boy.
A quick find during our visit to the lights. Thanks for the interesting cinema history and the cache!
