### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there PoleCat S,

This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.

You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days so others know exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication kill this cache.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.

- **Place A Write Note Log:-** Reviewers are not mind readers, so without your note on the cache page telling them what the situation is, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and, when the listing is next checked, all will be fine for a little bit longer. But be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date), please ensure you visit this page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks so as to keep everyone up to speed with what is happening.

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another Geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

Sadly we came up short and couldn't find it. It's been over a year since the last find so unless we just missed it maybe cache owner might want to double check if it's all good

Having to get out of the house for a few hours because of an inspection, in which I actually had to remove a colony of ANTS moving up and down my wall and ceiling for. I was still getting over the flu, but my muggle mate and I went looking for dogs at animal shelters. After leaving, without a new friend, we stopped by here. Not even realising the track was there until we left, we took the grass instead. This took a little while to find. I had an Alien ANT farm song in my head for most of the searching time lol. A monkey bike flew past piggybacking someone. Cache was found eventually after searching quite a few areas. I had wondered if the insect inside the cache was real or the dead ANT.

Sorry for the belated log. Thanks for an interesting cache.

I had some spare time while waiting to pick up the kids (yes I was dormANT) and so headed to this cache. After searching the wrong side of the track for a while (my search was redundANT) I changed tack and then quickly found the nice hide - making me feel bouyANT. TFTC!

Out for a morning run with geokid and decided to include a cache find as part of the routine. We chose this one as we've run on this trail before and thus familiar with our surrounds. On arrival geokid was pANTing, he's first run after a month's break. I reminded him the feeling is not permanANT. We did some stretches waiting for a muggle to ride pass.

A quick look around and we spotted the cache. Wow, the size of this dead insect was giANT. The logbook is without a bag hence previous post have mentioned dampness. Yes logbook has seen better days but still useable. Will try to remember to bring a bag for it next time we run this trail.

In need of a second cache for the day for a challenge I am working towards I chose a cache in a spot where muggles tend not to frequent on Saturdays. I find all the usual parks, reserves and such like teeming with muggles on a Saturday so instead I try to go to places which tend to teem with them on week days but are deserted on weekends. This cache was close enough to an industrial estate to afford that experience.
I wandered around a bit here as I can see many have before me and it took a few minutes before I noticed the cache. The lid of the camo doesn't close anymore so I placed it as best as I could.

Suscoe was heading homewards today and so as is often the case we stopped along the drive to take in some interesting caches and locations.
We met up with the good folks of the Phetlern team here for a few finds in the area.
It was a cloud day with a strong wind and some rain seemed to be threatening.
Thanks to PoleCat S for this nice bit of work, the log was a little damp today but still fine to write on.

Find #3177

Have passed by near to this one many times on the freeway but wasn't quite sure how to access. With a bit of research and some time to spare after work I was able to park in the industrial estate further north along the creek and after another find nearby I headed to this one. Just had to wait for cyclist to pass and then I moved in to where the GPS was indication. Tried a couple of spots before I saw it. Replaced as I assume it was intneded to be. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache PoleCat S. Great that this cache is still going down here.

Today I went for a bike ride down the Eastlink trail which I have not been along until today. Some of the connections in areas are a bit dodgy and still some gravel sections as well which surprised me. This made the trail not very busy though which was good for me.
I arrived and parked the bike, GPS was moving a little but then settled. 30 seconds later I found the dead ant separated from its container but only by 50 cm or so. Cache was still fine and Dead Ant has been returned to his rightful location.

Q: What do you call an ant with frogs legs?

Dead Ant? No!
Musician Adam Ant's death a social media scam
Published January 7, 2012 12:34pm

*The tweets of his death were greatly exaggerated.*

Facebook and Twitter users were warned Friday (Manila time) against a new scam claiming 1980s British pop star Adam Ant has died.
Computer security firm Sophos noted a rise in Facebook and Twitter messages claiming the musician died in a jet ski accident on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
"Although some users are just tweeting their respects at the 'news' of Adam Ant's death, others are posting a link to what appears to be an online news report about the musician's death," Sophos' senior technology consultant Graham Cluley said in a blog post.
Cluley said the link led to a "Global Associated News" web page claiming Adam Ant died in a jet ski accident.
But he noted the supposed news page's URL contained "adam.ant" before the domain name.
He said that when he replaced "adam.ant" with "graham.cluley," the headline on the news page was changed to reflect his name.
"Well fancy that - I'm a dead musician!" he said.
*A check of small print at the bottom of the webpage confirmed the report was "fake," and that the website was an entertainment site with a "dynamically generated" story using a generic template.*

Cluley said it was likely the website was making money from ads posted on the news report webpage.
"Of course, the sheer number of people tweeting out the link won't have done any harm at all for the website - which presumably is earning revenue from the adverts plastered on its fictional news report," he said.
"Just imagine the harm that could occur if there was malware lying in wait at the end of that salacious news story link?" he added. — TJD, GMA News

Last cache of the day. Parked in the nearby estate, probably illegally with all the No Standing signs but nobody around on Sunday afternoon to care.

The cache was easy to find but not what I was expecting. I think a cap on top might be missing? anyhow the little container with the log was mostly dry so we drained it out and signed the log.

Dropped off Beaver TB - questionable factory runoff water on one side, and a muddy drain on the other. Not the prettiest of spots but it will do Smile

oh and an ant joke. Who was the most famous ant scientist? Albert Antstein!

A Father and Son - Two Bikes - 22 kms - Five Caches

Campbell was itching to go for a ride on his bike, so I scoped out a few possibilities and decided a ride to Carrum was in order. Leaving Endeavour Hills and heading south along the Dandenong Bike Trail. A glorious day it was, and seeing lots of fellow bike riders, walkers, fishermen and a group of model yacht captains vying for honours. We grabbed five caches along the way with one DNF arriving at Carrum in just under 3 hours for a well deserved chicken schnitzel sanga for lunch. Campbell had a paddle in the small waves as we waited for Katy to pick us up.

After stopping near GZ it took a minute or two to locate the cache. We replaced this lidless container with a small silver 200ml Sistema which fits into the spot nicely, Campbell adding some cammo. Replacement log was added so cache is all good to go now with maintenance done!!

Thanks for the cache PoleCat S!!!

08-Sep-13
Find 889 at 13:17. I was out with Scarecrow_01 taking advantage of the nice weather with a ride along the Dandenong Creek Trail today. We rode from Patterson Lakes to Dandenong and picked up five caches along the way. This was the third find on this run. The cache was quickly located but as per K_Wolf's log, it needs a bit of attention as it is still missing a lid and log book. We signed a card in the cache and returned it to it's hiding spot. Unfortunatlely the cache contents fall out in this position but there's not much else that can be done.

Thanks for the cache, PoleCat S!

First the ant joke:
What do you call a 100 year old ant? Antique

Revisited the area again for some cache placing/checking of my own, so thought I'd go and look for this cache too. The cache was an immediate find once close to GZ - because it was thrown down the embankment and the contents strewn all over the ground. I collected all the items and put them back in the container - but was unable to find the lid or log. After contemplating the best course of action, I noticed what I presumed to be the cache-hiding-place and considered that if I put the cache back the right-way the lid-less container would fill with water very quickly. So I up-ended the container and squeezed it back into its presumed hiding place - I hope that this will help keep things in place and not any more water-logged - at least for long enough for the CO to find a new lid/log and sort things out.

25-Aug-13
As per find log, the cache was open and contents strewn all over, I was unable to find the cache-container-lid or log-book. Cache and contents have been returned to the presumed correct hiding place, but the cache needs a new lid and logbook.

This was the first of four geocaches I found on an Anzac day bikeride from Dandenong to Carrum.
Had to backtrack a little to wait a while for riders to disappear, but once they'd gone, it was very easy to find. Thanks for the cache.

Q: What do you call a crazy ant which sucks up to you?

I have been eyeing off this series for quite a while now, but it was only a short time ago that I had the idea of doing all along the trail in one go, by bike. The weather looked good today, so we put the bikes on the car and started at #24 and collected 18 for the day, meaning we didn't end up making it to #1. I am sure we will pick up from where we left off eventually......... but I was quite pleased with the total. We ended up riding for 32.5km which was quite a lot considering the total. Oh well, it was very enjoyable Big Grin

I wish I didn't try to decode the clue because the hide was really easy, but it was still encrypted so I spent a while trying to decrypt it using an app I have. Once I did the decryption, the hide was found 30secs later! Ugh, I should have just looked straight away! Nice hide, one that I have seen before (well, something very similar). Thanks for another great cache PoleCat_S Smile
