WOW amazed at the publisher - there were no needs maintenance logs and I just disabled it yesterday - disabled too long!!
#5655. The family needed the car for various activities during morning and early afternoon and so I didn't get out here until 2.30pm. My plan was to do one more of the Welly Climbs caches but the waypoints were too far apart to get to in the time available. I needed to head back to the car after only a couple of hours as it dark by 5.45pm these days. Anyway it was my first visit to Whareroa so good to get a feel for the tracks and to pick up some of the traditional caches. This was the first find of the day. Nice quick start. The log book was last signed back in March 2018. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here tmann421.
I rode up to Paekakariki this weekend to get out of the neighborhood a bit and to explore a little more of New Zealand. I connected with Flowerydaze, who was so kind as to plan a little trip of caches that we could do around the park. Well they took me to Queen Victoria park, but I didn't know why until I got there! I learned so much about an American military base I didn't even know existed. Very fun way to spend the day. I'm sure my grandmother and grandfather would have danced in a dancehall like this back in the day!
The cache was very wet so I did my best to dry it out. Flowerydaze provided some new paper. TFTC

Husband went for a run up the track and the kids and grandparents took the scenic route through forest and lookout. Nice to see new caches in this area. Exchanged some objects- kids happy.

Summery afternoon. Lovely to go for a stroll and get a few caches. Nice and easy find. TFTC
A little dip into Whareroa this evening. Limited time meant only a short walk. Thanks for the cache.
My wife and I went on a hike here and had a great time. My GPS was giving me fits so I wandered around looking all kinds of funny trying to get it to settle in an area. Finally, I found it! This was a fun one. TFTC!
An after work detour - might be a few of these for a while. I haven't been in here before / it is a certain stop one weekend for a proper wander and to collect a few more caches.
First tmann421 cache for a while - Thanks for another smilie.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Great coords, as expected from such a prestigious and experienced CO.
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/)
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Found on the way back down to the car park. Thanks for the cache and yet another historic piece of concrete.
Found on a very nice walk around the forest loop track. Cache is in good condition. Thanks for placing a cache here!
Returning home from holiday up North so decided to spend a couple of hours caching before continuing back to Lower Hutt.
Took longer to find that it should. Blackberry and jandles do not mix well !

My first visit to Whareroa Farm. This was an easy find with the GPS leading me straight to the cache. TFTC
GPS lead me straight to it. You'd think geocaching would be like that all the time but it is good when it is. TFTC.
A warm but blustery day for a walk and to find a few gc's. Found this one relatively easy. Put in some paper for log. TFTC
We debated if we should do some caches around Waikanae/Paraparam or do a bush track today. In the end we thought we'd do some on this track & then maybe head for some urban one's after. However we ended up just staying on this awesome walking track & picked up most of the caches here.
This was a quick find, although we had to keep a watchful eye out for some cyclists who were getting ready to leave the carpark just after us.
Left a pet rock. Thanks for putting this here tmann421

Found on the way down from Mt. Wainui to the car park - thanks for this one [^]

A quick find but not as hint stated. Replaced and added the suggested camo. Looks like this will be an interesting walk. TFTC
Whareroa Farm is well worth a visit, interesting history and some good walks. Tftc.
Grabbed this on my way back down the hill, caving with an iPhone is hazardous when the battery gets low, and with only 31% battery when I started out, I ran straight to the top of the hill first and worked back. Still had 14% at the bottom, so back to the car with its beautiful aircon, to recharge batteries, both literally and figuratively. TFTC.
Decided to spend this afternoon finding the loop of caches on Whareroa Farm followed by some drive-bys down Paekakariki Hill Road. The Whareroa Farm loop didn’t go quite as planned as GPS was playing up and we went down so many wrong tracks but we managed to still turn 5 of the 9 into smileys before it was too dark. After, we completed just a few of the drive-by caches down Paekakariki Hill Road as that was all that was saved on the GPS but we found and enjoyed all the caches we attempted.
Nice and quick find, thanks!

First one today today on my hike to Mt Wainui. Easy find. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
We've enjoyed our first visit to Whareroa Farm, and this was our last cache for today. Had actually seen the site from the forest loop so we were keen to find out what the building was once we had walked around to it. The steps to nowhere looked intriguing from the loop track. Tftc
Cache # 1,905 - Having been here 9 months ago and not being able to search then (because the little guy had fallen asleep on me), I was looking forward to coming back and grabbing this as part of my ongoing streak. A beautiful night, with a half moon, and finding the gates not locked tempted me in to do my cache for the day. And this one marks my 450th day in row. Easy find, spectacular to do in the moonlight. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Another cache in the Whareroa Farm, looking at my app I was looking for a farm shed from the lookout that used to be nearby the cache site is no more not there , Cache is good SL placed back TFTC tmann421.
I seem to be having a day of clearing up caches that I'd previously DNF'd - 3rd for today. TFTC.
Another quick find. Only saw 1 cyclist all aftrnoon. Maybe the cooler weather kept all others at bay. TFTC
Quickly found ... last cache of the day.

I won't qualify this as a DNF, as I barely had time to search. Baby dragon had fallen asleep in the backpack, and there was a lot of muggle traffic on 2 wheels going by. The one stone I saw in the area had been broken and nothing was underneath any of the pieces, so I will watch this cache and see who finds it next.
Thanks for the cache. I actually found this a couple of weeks ago under the name of "Jimbob jr". However I am logging this now as I forgot to log it then.
Last find for the day for Sproggles and I. Had a great time tramping around the farm. TNLNSL, TFTC!
Out and about caching on a fantastic spring Sunday. Great day.
After snaring the coastal lookout, the forest loop walk and the yank tank caches we visited here on our way out of the park. Enjoyed this, our first visit to here. Will make a return visit for the farther flung caches, for sure.
Straightforward find, cache in order; log signed, cache re-hidden safely, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

The final find of what was a very enjoyable walk. I will have to return to attempt to find some of the other caches that are a little further away. TFTC.
Found as we finished out tramp with the Wednesday group from the Manawatu Tramping and Skiing Club. We were rather concerned about a little very young lamb that had wandered onto the track and lost its mum but alerted someone who said he would tell the farm manager. TFTC.
Very quick find, as Broadbridges had pointed out the location from further up the hill.
Didn't need the GPS (batteries drained as we walked up to it anyway.)

where did the barn go? i remember bringing my kids here years ago when they were little. tftc!
Find #1461. Another lovely day to get out and explore. Haven't visited this area before which makes geocaching all the more enjoyable. Had been to the other caches in the valley and was on the return journey, collecting this on my way. No one around so easily found and signed. TFTC
Found during cycle ride with local geocaching buddy. Nice straight forward cache.
A nice walk on the farm. There was noone else there so i hab some time to search.
Found it on my trip to New Zealand. Thanks to all the Owners for showing me this beautiful places!

2.45pm. On the way back after an enjoyable walk. Good to have simple hides when having to expend energy getting there. Left twp TBs that I picked up yesterday. A good little series. Thank you. David.
Great day to be out and about, may have introduced some others to geocaching today. Jane and Paul hope you see this haha
Found it - I hope others are tempted to visit this fanastic area, now that there are some caches to find as well. Great for walking and mountain biking. TFTC
