WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 11 - Port Lincoln Day. The day started with caches around the town area and a bit of shopping. I also managed to do the Statue Labs whilst having a walk along the fore shore area. With all the chores out of the way, I started following the coast to the south towards Tulka following a nice walking trail and ending up at the gates of the National park. This gave me plenty of free time in the afternoon to catch up on logging. One more New county tomorrow as I head to Ellistion, although there do not seem to be as many caches on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula.I did a run of caches along the coast here down to the entrance to the national park. Quite a variety, some harder than others. but all found without any problems. hmm.....Thanks for the cache wheres_wolly_sharon46654.24 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2007 May Signal A#91**Albida**
Found this as one of my very first cache finds. Took grandkids to show a different style of cache hide.
Staying in Port Lincoln for 3 nights. Now to get a mix of sightseeing and caching
OCW PelDroedGwin Continuing the walk along the Investigator Trail that we started yesterday. Ha, we were discussing these as we approached ! Tftc
Ocw the Bebes as we visit PL. came back today to finish off this little trail of caches. Not keen on the guardian! Tftc
From 16 December 2023 to 19 December 2023, I and J plus the little one visited Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park, together with countless cities and towns on the way. We also found over 40 caches during the trip, including traditional cache, mystery cache, multi cache, virtual cache, EarthCache, and Adventure Lab cache.18 December 2023, Day 3, we found 11 caches. This was our fifth find for the day, also 28th cache we found for the whole trip.I found this cache on our way from Lincoln National Park to Port Lincoln.I planned to try this cache, due to high favourite points.Parked on the road, then started searching. Cache has been found. What a surprise!Signed the log sheet. Positioned the cache as vivid as possible, for the next finder. Thanks for the cache, wheres wolly.---- **South Australia will host a Leap Day Mega Event on 29th February 2024. Hahaha was definitely a little sceptical of picking this one up to begin with thanks for an amazing cache!!
Cute and dangerous looking brown sitting right near where the cache was reportedly. So will give this one a skip:)
We had a day here in port Lincoln today so decided to start with this cache. After going back and forth between whether to look from the road or the path I spotted the cache. Clever camo, can see why some would get a scare. Thanks for the cache
I was scepticul I was going to be able to find this one with a T3 rating and my current injuries. But what is one to do when they have to wait for scans in town and have hours to kill. Although I haven’t been able to hobble around without crutches for the last day or two, I pulled them out to assist me with the terrain. As I approached from Proper Bay Rd, the crutches were helpful to assist me on the uneven terrain. I did initially walk past this cache and I had a fair idea what I was looking for from previous logs. So I soon made the find on the second passing. A very effective cache. And no further injuries, so a great way to pass some time. TFTC!

Another cache found with richlink.
A careful search of the area eventually revealed the prize.
We have enjoyed travelling The Eyre Peninsula with richlink using Geocahing as our guide. We have seen many interesting towns and locations along the way. Thank you so much to the CO’s who have placed and maintained caches for the enjoyment of all.

Beautiful day to be out caching with iluvtrekking. Geo-hubby is petrified of snakes but he braved the search with ILT. Located closer to main road than gps indicated. Thanks where’s wolly
6 m out but not hard to spy - and not the funnest one today! Eeek! So many from wheres wolly! Out exploring the trail and sights. Finally in Port Lincoln with time ahead to stop in this lovely well kept historic town. Day 17 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and a few in between caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.
Hanging out in Port Lincoln today and managed to find a few caches.
I walked right past it in thongs too!! Eek….
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
wheres wolly, I found SCEPTICUL today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Unfortunately I had to go to Port Lincoln today to attend a funeral. Fortunately I had a short window to grab some caches and drop a TB off to continue its journey after being interred in Black Hill Conservation Park for some time. All caches, including this one, were found quickly and were in good condition. TFTC.
Another day out and about in the Port Lincoln area started with a revisit to the National park. With this being our last day in the area, there was not going to be time to find all the available caches, so we decided to target the ones with the highest number of favourite points. I think this one has changed over the years and is no longer the clever hide that it once was. Thanks for the cache placement.
On our way back from Memory Cove with ilook4geo we also wanted to pick up some of the caches available around the area. This was one that we found quite easily and both names were soon added to the log. Thanks go to wheres wolly for placing this cache.
Out for some caching with goingplaces2 in the Lincoln National Park area and back towards Port Lincoln. This was a nice easy find and both names were soon added to the log. TFTC.
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
Another new day in Port Lincoln and it is time to relocate the van and head down to the National Park so I got up early packed up and headed off.
So after setting up the van at Surfleet Campground it was time to explore the South West area and the weather is finally looking good.
I had to back track a bit to get to this one as its a lot easier to park with out the van on behind.
You can see where the fire went through a while ago and I was a bit SCEPTICUL if the cache was still there but lucky for me the cache has been replaced.
Thanks wheres wolly TFTC.

Good to get an older wheres wolly cache today. The hint made me think but in the end the cache was just there. Long or short or just a cache - who cares.
Thanks to wheres wolly and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Finding caches along the way as we headed to Lincoln National Park for a few days .
After lunch in town, we continued our journey, picking up caches on the way .

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I spent the day around Port Lincoln. We spent the morning seeing the town and marina, and then headed south travelling past Port Lincoln National Park to check out Whalers Way. It was still a little cold and nippy with the wind about, but otherwise a sunny day.
I didn’t quite understand the hint for this cache, although in the end, it didn’t take long to find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Another geocache where the D/T rating felt overrated. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.
We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.
We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.
As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

We made a decision to take a two week break and head to the Eyre Peninsula. We were keen to return to Coffin Bay and also to explore some less travelled areas.
We had three nights based in Cowell. One of the highlights there was a drive along the 4WD fire track along the top of the Drake Range.
Then we headed to Port Lincoln for five nights. We have been out to Memory Cove on one day and to Coffin Bay NP on another. We have explored the the town, seen stromatolites, and found a number of great eateries. And some special caches too.
Along the way we stopped at quite a few wheres wolly caches

Like others before us the cache is melted. Next time we are out this way if it is not replaced we will attend to it tftc
Like black adders the cache is very melted and needs fixing
After having car issues over the weekend it prolonged my stay here and with Davidwazza returning home this morning I decided to head out and clean up the remains I had left in the area. A half day out and nothing but blue faces left on my map with the rest being turned into finds. Another day of 35finds
Thanks for the cache

A better weather day in Port Lincoln while visiting relatives we could spend a few hours seeking a few more of these elusive hides.
Unfortunately some were abandoned, no longer there, destroyed or removed with no maintenance performed. Many by this owner of caches.
We found the remains of a totally burnt and melted container so the best we could do was make our mark on the outside of whatever it was.

Day 4
After a over night stay in Port Lincoln park. I came and got the last 2 caches unfound in the park on the way out before heading off to the information center for the key to memory cove which is where i am spending tomorrow night. The rain stopped over night so it was just windy the next day. Grabbing a few along the road that are small or bigger in size on route to port lincoln before heading to memory cove. quick find.

Today was my one full day in Port Lincoln, so I headed to the Lincoln National Park. I've been caching here before (in 2007) and enjoyed the scenery so it was a good chance to revisit and pickup a whole lot of new caches. Last cache found for the day and a nice and quick find.
My thanks to wheres wolly for the cache.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
Visiting Port Lincoln we decided to spend the day in Lincoln NP exploring. All was going well until Mr Felix took a tumble and hurt his back, so we aborted our mission and will have to return another time.

After a discussion with a previous finder it was decided to replace this cache. The replacement cache from the nearby freshly archived Cats and dogs was moved up the road a few hundred metres. That should keep the reaper at bay.
Our second attempt at finding a cache this morning turned out be be our second DNF for today :c( Not a good start!
Great cache. Although it was what I was expecting to see it all have me a start.
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Yikes... wasn't expecting that!!
Thanks for the fun wheres wolly!

Oooh!! Glad I looked for this during a cool spell . Went out today with Rav81 as driver and he thought I'd really like this one. Good choice with limited time to cache today . TFTC
Sensational container, great idea, might have to copy this one! Haha love it, favourite from me.
After 3 girls second guessing themselves numerous thrown rocks couple hits couple misses and sending in tweety2 we found it. Found with tweety2 and Redmond.
Hoping for a quick drive by here, I saw a geotrail and headed into the bushes
Crikey !! [:o]
I jumped backwards when I saw the cache !!
Well I didn't know it was the cache when I first saw it, but after poking it with a long stick, I discovered that it was the cache
